SO DISAPPOINTED and NEGLECTED! The first two times we went our 9 yr. old German Shepherd was with Lauren and this time also. The First 2 groomings were great. Then--------- I had always taken and picked her up. This time, my husband dropped her off. Normally, Lauren took the leash from me and to the grooming table they went. Yesterday, my husband was told by Lauren that she was 2 hours behind. She took the leash and he left. Jacki was our rescue 6 years ago. She was kept in a kennel all day and night for a very, very long time. I had given her history to the groomer and was told she wouldn't need to be kenneled. After my husband told me, I rushed out the door to get her. I walked in, and found Jacki in the kennel **** with her collar and leash wrapped around her leg and chest, still on!!! Her ears were flat like she was scared. No water in the kennel either. I was appalled. Who puts a dog in a kennel and leaves them like that? This establishment does. I opened the kennel door and Jacki shyly came out acting unsure and frightened. Lauren walked a bit towards me from the opposite side of the room, but never came close. No apology. She repeated that she was 2 hours behind as if she had no idea that Jacki was neglected and mistreated. I had to speak louder than normal since she never came over to me. I told her that she should have called me and asked if I could bring her later or reschedule. She said she would next time. I will not be going back. There won't be a next time, not ever. When we got outside, Jacki returned to her loving self. She gave me kisses and pulled me to the car. No apology or follow-up call from them. No recognition of how Jacki was treated so badly. Never again. I have since spoken with several dog people and knowledgeable in training. They would never leave a dog with a collar and leash on in the kennel. Everyone was appalled at Jacki's treatment. read more

What could improve? Communications scheduling, employee attitude. Whoa. Really? Yeah, really. Here's our experience: To start, I called and left a message for a grooming appointment during business hours. I received a call back about 15 minutes later, and scheduled an appointment for our new puppy. We were "lucky" and got a cancellation for two weeks later at 2:00. About a half hour later I received another phone call, returning my voicemail. I explained I already spoke with someone and they said "so and so must have forgot to delete the voicemail, but let's make sure you're all set". Well, we were not all set. Somehow that appointment was not in her system. So we went through the process again, and got booked for 2:00. I reconfirmed what I put in our calendar and moved on, remembering my thinking of "I can take our son to his haircut at 2:20 right down the street after I drop off Cali". I received a confirmation text, which I confirmed, but admittedly was remiss in looking at the information as I was certain in my mind the time, I had done it twice after all. So grooming day arrived and we walked in at 1:52. Noting the wonderful inclusivity sign as we did so. That is where the warm and fuzzies stopped. An employee yelled at my husband from across the room that we were late, missed our appointment and how rude we were for not calling. Meanwhile two other families were in the lobby as well. My husband said " no, we have a 2:00 appointment, we are early". She said "no, your appointment was at 1:30, you're late, thanks for not showing up" and put her headphones back on and turned her back on him. After he came back to the car, we checked my confirmation text and it was for 1:00. So it seems, no one was right that day, but what I do know is we won't be back. Our sincerest apologies to the groomer who missed out on a groom today, that was not our intention. Forget about the awful customer service aspect, if you can't uphold the signage you display, you should remove it. That was one of the least welcoming environments I've been a part of recently, which says a lot for "these current times". If the owner or manager wants feedback on this experience, I'm sure they can find me in the computer, if the employee hasn't deleted our contact. read more

We've been using Colorado dog for years. But the last time we took them in they got the worst haircuts ever. We we're not notified by anyone that our groomer would not be doing them and put them with someone we never met. They did a horrible job on our Wheatons. One of them was way to short and the other had no ears left when we picked them up we were horrified. It would be nice to know ahead of time if there was an issue on her ears. They said they were to matted and had to shave them off, which we had asked them last time to shorten them to avoid this issue. I am honestly so glad that I found this place! We brought our little boy, Zeus in for a full grooming service with Erin. The service was excellent and honestly I was SO surprised how his coat still smelled so good and was soft after a week. Brought my husky in to get groomed and he has been there a few times with no issues. I pick him up today and he was bleeding on the back of both legs. I call to speak with the manager to talk about it and she didn't even apologize and just said that they don't use clippers on dogs like him. She claims that the brush did this to him and when I said both of my dogs wouldn't be back she was like "sounds perfect". Just be aware when brining your dogs there. They are also trying to say my dog is aggressive when trying to be blow dried or have his nails clipped but have never once shared this information with me until I give them a bad review. read more

I think the place is fine if you have a dirty dog in need of a bath. You work at raised stations, which is mostly easier on your back. The shampoo and conditioner are provided. I think the shampoo has been watered down a bit too much, as you have to use quite a lot of it, and it is not easy to get a lather going. They provide towels to dry your dogs, and a blow dryer (think reverse vacuum at a car wash), but most dogs freak out when you use the very loud dryer. The staff seemed friendly, but they were pretty busy. This means that customers coming in to get a wash station, or ready to pay and leave, had a bit of a wait at times. Sixteen bucks ($16) a dog seemed a little pricey to me. If you pay to have nails clipped (for an extra ten bucks), you are at $26 total (there are other services you can purchase as well). If your regular groomer charges an arm and a leg, this might seem reasonable. But, I have a groomer who does a complete grooming (cut, trim, nails, bath) for not that much more than what you pay here for a wash and nail clipping. So, the place is fine, A-OK, etc., but not amazing. read more

Had an appointment to get my std poodle washed and blown out. We were quoted $35 over the phone and took her in for the appointment. I received a call less then an hour later stating that she was ready to be picked up. When I picked her up they charged us $55, since they added a $20 charge stating that they had to brush her out 5-6 times because she was matted. When we got her home and looked her over, her hair bands where never removed, her topknot was more matted then when we dropped her off (wetting hair without removing bands will do that), and she smells as if she never had a bath. I'm not sure what they did in such a short amount of time but they definitely didn't measure up to our typically groomer. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. The first two pictures are what she looked like when we picked her up today from Colorado dog, and the third picture is what she looked like when we picked her up from her normal reputable groomer. Quite the difference in quality, and attention to detail. I should have trusted other reviews on here and gone elsewhere. To top it off customer service is the last thing on their mind. There was. I explanation of the additional charges until I asked, and the attitude of the front desk less than professional as expressed by others. If you're looking for top quality grooming, do yourself a favor and make the drive to castle pines animal care center and see Mickey or Travis, you'll never regret it. read more

If you can't accommodate me don't make the appointment also when I emailed my suggestion for their online appointment app I was responded to with an email calling my "entitled ". I don't have much experience with doggie groomers or daycares yet so this is a novice's opinion but I really like this place. It's clean & the staff is very friendly and seem to work really well with animals. I have been trying to clip my puppy's nails for a couple of weeks now and each experience leaves me more scarred than the previous because my puppy just goes crazy, biting & scratching me. Suffice it to say, I've managed to partially clip two nails in just as many weeks. When I took Milo in for a nail clipping, not only did he stay calm in the arms of one of the women, he didn't even attempt to pull is paw away as she clipped each nail. Traitor... read more

Convenient and sure beats bending over a tub. I washed my two medium-sized dogs in a stainless steel waist-height level basin, the water turned warm quickly, good water pressure without being too strong, and has an attached side drying area for toweling or using a dryer (the air wasn't warm but I didn't need it on a sunny day). A ramp is underneath to walk the dog up. Includes a water-proof apron so I didn't get very wet, shampoo, conditioner, towel, and grooming brushes. $16 per dog. It was easy and fast. Call for directions, the sign is small and it's a little tricky to find the first time. read more

I've been taking my two dogs, Roxy and Chewie, for grooming since moving to Parker in 2011. I take them about every 5 to 6 weeks and the service at U-Shampooch is top-notch! The staff is extremely friendly and personable and my dogs have always come back looking great and smelling fresh! I've only used the self-serve tubs once and it was to be expected, with all the supplies I could ever need to bathe my pups. Very easy to use and their blow dryers are MUCH better than the regular hand-held hair dryer I have to use at home. I would recommend U-Shampooch to anyone because of their service and friendliness and to save yourself the trouble of having to do it yourself! read more

I've been coming here since before the name change & it seems like the care level of the employees have gone down since the change. One particular girl, whom I'll call blonde, is the worst!!!! I bath my own dog, partially because I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it & because I see it as time spent putting love & care into my dog. The past couple times I have come in, the employees never greet me. I have either not had brushes, towels, or soaps every time. One time, I had all of the above, but the brushes were dirty & the shampoos weren't particularly full. One time I didn't have towels. Another lady was in there & she asked blonde for some towels & she turned her nose up at her & said they weren't done yet. Once the girl left & we asked the guy for towels. He promptly pulled them from the dryer for us. The shampoos are very watered down, but you can fill them back up yourself if you want. A couple times I brought in one of my brushes I have at home & I got the look of death from blonde. I think if the owner were to spend some time in the shop, talking with customers & making there presence known, things could turn around & some habits (particularly blondes), could change. But I'm one person that has opinions just like every other person out there. I say, give the place a try for yourself & go off your gut feeling. If they treat you well, I'm glad to hear that! The best groom in the metro area. I dropped my dog off for a week's stay at a neighboring dog camp, and arranged for him to get cleaned up prior to bringing him home. I paid for the groom before we left town. The transition was smooth, they picked up my dog and his belongings, cleaned him up and called me to let me know he was ready. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. My dog is an American Eskimo, and few groomers have done well at cleaning him up. His hair was nicely (not choppy) cut, his nails were trimmed and he had an adorable bandana. His coat was also noticeably lighter, which means they spent a good amount of time brushing him. Colorado dog did the best groom he's ever gotten in the Denver area. read more

I had an unfortunate experience at another groomer in the SE Aurora area that is very busy. However, my dog suffered abuse (admitted to by the groomer). I was then told about Colorado Dog by a friend. My miniature Schnauzer was very anxious with grooming, even with calming medication/treats since being abused. Erin has been the BEST thing to happen to my dog and I. She goes out of her way to stay later on weekends so the place is quiet, which helps my dog a ton. Every time he gets better and better with Erin since she has built up trust with him. He started out so terrified and anxious he would not stay still and nip at the groomer's hands. He also dreaded even going through the door. Now he walks right in, stays still, and has not nipped in a long time. I also really like that they only book one dog per groomer per hour, so your dog is done in an hour. The prior groomer would have my dog over 5 hours and still not be done. Could not be happier with Erin and Colorado Dog. It's also nice they have an online booking system and send reminder text messages. Awesome. read more

We have been taking our labradoodles to Colorado Dog for the last two years. All I have to say is they have been nothing but perfect. They know the doods by name, and they continuously express their gratitude knowing that we commute from downtown Denver to Parker for their services (which honestly isn't that bad). When it comes to dog grooming, you typically get what you pay for. But the pricing is incredibly reasonable and comes with unparalleled service. I can not recommend Colorado Dog enough. The staff, the service, and the outcome of our doods afterwards won't be matched by any other groomer in Denver. They put the extra effort in to make sure the dogs are as comfortable as possible in a situation that typically freaks them out. They don't cage while drying which most groomers do. And they genuinely care about every pet they groom. We love everything you guys, thank you for taking such good care of our boys. read more

Ummm, not so much. Unfortunately after moving from out of state, I had to leave behind our groomers of 5 years. So, now I'm remembering that not all groomers are good groomers. I asked for the length all over to be very short because my dog has terrible grooming anxiety so we like to space his visits out as much as possible. So the short hair was fine, what was NOT fine was some whacky way they cut his ears! I always ask for the ears to be cut to leather. It gives him more of a puppy appearance and a rounder face. The cut on the ears appears to be some crazy hack job. Where typically my old groomer had all one length, it's almost like they ran a shaver over his ears instead of cutting straight across the bottom, which would've looked much better. His face was also cut VERY SHORT which I didn't ask for. I showed her an exact picture of my dog immediately after his last groom and it was not that. It is scary/ creepy short. All in all, my dog is clean and can see now and nails are trimmed and the service was fast and I was able to get in same day, however, if you have a long hair dog like I do and the grooming requires a bit of skill or technique, I would not recommend this place. I'm sure for a short hair dog it would be fine. My husband was upset that I still tipped after seeing my dog, but I see groomers this way, it's like a hair stylist, they still did the work and not everyone can provide the same quality of work. read more

Foster is my new rescue and his Lhaso Apso/Terrier mix fur was an absolute mess. I couldn't even brush it. He was shaved, beautiful and looked amazing when I picked him up, I was thrilled. He was also in a very good mood, which is a testament to their gentle handling of him. As a new rescue he is very timid around new people and adventures. I took Beijo to Colorado Dog for grooming for the first time recently. I have been struggling to find a close groomer that knows how to cut my dog's breed. I found a good one! They did a great job with him and did not take 4 hours like other places I have taken him to. Plus they picked him up at Camp Bow Wow. So convenient! read more

This place is wonderful! We have used them for self-service washes and found the staff to be attentive and helpful. Our dog DOES NOT like baths but even she tolerated her bath here. I have also had them wash our dog when I was on crutches following surgery and could not do it myself. I found on this visit the staff went out of their way to help me and even took my dog out to the car for me and made sure both my dog and myself were OK. The shampoo and conditioner both leave my dog smelling GREAT (up until she rolls in deer poop as soon as we get home). read more

I have been bringing my dogs for grooming here for years. I even drive from Golden as I had been so happy. I don't know if there has been a management change or if the level of service has massively declined recently but I would no longer recommend Colorado Dog at all. My 16 year old miniature schnauzer has been in desperate need of grooming which had to be delayed due to COVID. I scheduled an online appointment on May 8 for service May 29 which was accepted by their staff and confirmed both by text and an email. On May 29 they called me to reschedule for June 5 as their groomer didn't realize they had to come in to work that day and could not keep our appointment. Today (June 5) I was called 4 hours before said appointment time to be told my dog apparently was difficult at his last grooming appointment (which was NEVER mentioned to me) and the groomer did not want to groom him. I am IRATE as there were multiple opportunities to relay this messaging to me so I could properly search for a new groomer or schedule with a vet to groom him. I am incredibly disappointed by the lack of professionalism and communication especially to such a longstanding client. read more

Very unhappy with Colorado Dog...I did give them 2 separate chances to offer some sort of customer service gesture but none was given. The first incident my Westie's stomach was not even trimmed, no discount was offered for future services. Gave them another chance and she ended up with clipper burn, when I requested a refund to offset the cost of the vet bill I was told they could not offer a refund because that is one of the risks that I take when I take her to a groomer. However, it would have been nice if the groomer would have let me know this occurred and perhaps how I could treat it. Would not recommend. read more

Mirindi and her team are the best!! They consistently do an amazing job with our golden retriever (bath and grooming). Our family has always had golden retrievers, none of which ever needed to be trimmed, so I was very reluctant at first, but our sweet boy Roscoe is so shaggy we decided to try out Colorado Dog. I had tried almost every groomer in Parker, literally! The last groomer I took my dogs to clipped the underneath of my puppy and he was bleeding when I picked him up. The other groomers kept them in cages for hours and they were traumatized for days. The other was a very nice shop, but when I picked up the dogs the girl had shaved my dog to look like a poodle (even after I requested that she not do that). So...after all that I had pretty much given up on finding a groomer that actually listens, does not keep the dogs in cages, and did not charge ridiculous prices. I am happy to say that I found the groomer that my dogs love, caring, listens to what you want, and charges a fair price. This shop has much better service than that 'boutique' shop, and doesnt freak your dog out (and charge you more!) than petsmart. read more

I've been taking my "girls" to U-Shampooch for 2 years and have been thoroughly pleased with their facility and staff. My dogs used to hate being bathed but now they know what to expect and cooperate fully. Much less traumatizing than waiting in a cage for a stranger to wash them. Much less traumatizing on my wallet too!! "Pink-Hair Girl", aka Caitlin (I know her name because I am a regular customer) has always been terriffic. Mirindi, the owner, is a gem. She clearly loves this business. I love being able to wash my own dogs and then have the groomer trim their nails. So convenient. I also like their shampoo and conditioner because my dogs not only look and smell good but they don't shed nearly as much anymore. I will continue to recommend this shop. read more

We recently stopped in Parker to visit family and needed a dog groomer. I looked on line and found a couple and decided on U Shampooch. It was a great experience for me, i'm not sure it ever is for Teddy my dog. Caitlyn who I spoke with on the phone was very nice to Teddy. I wash and dried him at a stand which was tall enough had good warm water and pressure to do a good job. I have used Petco for 10 years and the same groomer did a great job. Never in my life have I been so insulted by a dog groomer because she was too lazy to do her job and claimed it was too hard to groom my dog due to the excessive amount of hair Bailey has. She called me a negligent parent. Funny thing is no one has ever complained about grooming Bailey before. They wanted to completely shave her because it was easier. Bailey doesn't get shaved because it won't grow back the same. I'm so upset right now! She had me in tears. Don't ever take your dog to Colorado Dog in Parker. They are lazy and won't do the groom you request because it's too much effort to for them to do their job. They were so rude and gave the worst customer service ever. They crossed the line big time. You can't treat people that way. They are all a bunch of cowards cause they were hiding in the back when I came to get her. I will never bring Bailey there again. They could have used scissors instead of excuses. Everyone knows even me that you don't bathe them before brushing them out. 0 stars for this place. If you love your dog NEVER GO HERE. I had been a loyal customer since they opened but in recent months its obvious they must be having money and staffing problems. Cannot get warm water for dog baths. The place is FILTHY including the restrooms. (Unsanitary, gross, eeww!) The employees are snotty and unfriendly. I used to wash my dog there twice a month; after the way we were treated recently I will never go back. My dog is part of our family. Ushampooch is an awful, dirty, nasty place. Pink-Hair Girl is the nightmare employee. Sooooo glad we've found Wag N Wash in both Castle Rock and Highlands Ranch. It's farther to drive, but the experience was so much better, they've got our business now. Avoid U-Shampooch, it's a bad, bad, bad place. read more

I've taken my dog here several times and they do good work, however they are difficult to schedule an appointment with. I recently experienced being 10 minutes late and they wouldn't take my dog.. things happen, ridiculous I would have to wait another 7 days to get an appointment. I already waited 7-10 days for the first appointment. I'll be finding another option. They obviously have a hard time scheduling and either don't have enough help or don't care to be considerate to clients.. read more
