I've heard mixed reviews about this place so thought I'd give it a try. Definitely won't be going back. Had our dog for 2 1/2 hours. Called at the 2 hour mark and they said he would he would be another hour. They called at the 2 1/2 hour mark telling us to come pick him up. Talked to what I assume was the supervisor about what happened and she said they "only had 4 girls working" and "the dryers were too loud for him" and to try CBD next time we bring him, but other than that "he is a good dog". So all that happened in those 2 1/2 hours was he was rinsed. Wasn't even fully dry when I picked him up. Additionally when I picked him up, they looked through every kennel twice before they finally found him. They only had a couple dogs there.. I don't often leave 1 star reviews for businesses, I try to give them some benefit of the doubt and find something positive to add and bump up the star rating, but I have nothing good to say about this place. read more

We have been a customer of Wag n Wash for years. In the past we have had a few questionable grooming appts. In the last year or more we have had great service, until the last three appointments. Our dog is older and has been abused while being grooming from another company. I stuck with the same groomer for years at wag n wash once we found someone that could work with our dog's needs. The last three appointments have been questionable. I asked if the groomer was letting someone else groom our dog? They said no. This last hair cut was awful. They blamed our dog, yet they have groomed this same dog every 6 wks. for years with no problem. I have taken the dog back on occasion to be fixed when there was obvious issues. Which they fixed. The fees have gone from $30. to $60., $65. to $75. over the years. I was informed that the groomer had taken a video of our dog being cut by the groomer. ( our dog had chunks of hair cut out and uneven attempts at the hair on his head and face). I have requested the video several times. I have sent several text. I filled out a review in which no one responded back. Because of this I would not recommend Wag n Wash. The people who work there seem to be MIA most of the time, people standing around waiting for service. I don't normally leave reviews but I felt that Wag n Wash was being unresponsive to this issue. At the very least they should offer to fix the issues. read more

I have a lab, and by nature, he always likes to get dirty. I just moved here and we were staying in a hotel in Lone Tree when Enzo decided to lay in a giant field of mud. Thankfully for the yelp app, I went to Wag n Wash since Castle Rock is where we are going to be living and I was greeted by some really nice gals. They set me and my filthy, filthy dog up at a station, helped me pick which soap, etc that I wanted and off I went washing him. This shop was so clean and after we were done, we went over to the shop area where they carried all of the Fromm's food we use. Overall, Wag N Wash is convenient, a little pricey. The washing area is nice with shampoos and conditioners available at the flick of a switch, easy to wash a shepard. The drying area was a bit dirty, floor needed to be cleaned better, but the biggest issue I had, were that some of the drying air hoses where either broken or taped repairs and the air hoses were not warm enough nor had enough air flow. The location is good in castle rock, but I may look elsewhere primarily due to the issue with the air hoses. We were walk ins for washing the dogs ourselves. I felt that 23.00 was a bit much when I paid 5.00 in Holland MI over the holidays for a similar experiencer. 15.00 would be more reasonable. read more

I really enjoy taking my dog here for a bath. Yeah, it's $20 and I could just bathe her at home, but the whole experience is really worth it, especially if you have a dog that sheds a lot. The drain is easy to clear over and over again with and then do the blowers to dry them that finishes off the rest. The employees are pretty friendly and it saves time. I enjoy coming here and so does my dog, especially for the treats they put in the bathing area. read more

Been coming to this location for a little over 2 years now, and each and every visit is phenomenal. Always greeted when I walk in and on my way out. Genuinely haven't been to a better pet store in a long time. They honor their return system, if for any reason the treats/food are expired or not enjoyed by your pup, they honor it. We made an appointment to take out 3 dogs (malamute, and Husky) in they said bring them all in at once we called in the morning to confirm. They said yes bring them in, we did at noon. We hen immediately called back and said they really don't like to be in the cage if they could keep the girls together it would be better! They said they would be ready in 2 hours! 3 hours later we called to check they said they were not done yet? One hour later at 4 they call to say the females are not being friendly !?!!?!? They were asked not to leave them in the cages then did for 4 hours prior to touching them. We asked another person picking up there did and he was dropped off 1.5 hours earlier? So disappointed.. why torture animals, don't overbook and under deliver it suck's for the animals and the owners... so upset for my babies being tortured left in a cage in the middle of the room and disappointed as a consumer not having them taken care of. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Refused to groom my 3 dogs upon being 2 minutes late, after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment. Not only would they not even do 2 of the dogs, wouldnt even take one. There was more than 90 minutes left of my appointment time and they told me there was NO TIME, even for one 30 lb dog. And No reminder call, and fine being late is on me. But they actually told me they had already called other people and offered my appointment to them. Funny they didn't offer MY appointment to ME. Beyond ridiculous. read more

To keep it short, the grooming service completely butchered our Golden Doodle. Remarkably terrible haircut, and it appears they do no use well maintained clippers or guards as his hair looks like they used sheep sheers. As mentioned before you don't see the dog prior to paying, and I am certain that is by design. First and last time taking our pup there. read more

I don't think I've ever given a 1 star review, but because my pet is involved I feel like this one is warranted. I'm reviewing their grooming services specifically, not the store itself. I've been here twice, and both times were for grooming appointments for my eleven year old cat who has a skin condition that requires her to be groomed every two months or so. Apologies for the length, I tried to keep the details as brief as I could. Experience #1: In mid-September, I called and scheduled an appt for October 13th. Around a week later, I get a call and they ask to push it back to Oct 19th. I bring in my cat on the 19th at 8am sharp per their request & was told they'd call me when she was finished. After around 3 hours I call them to check on her and see how much longer, and they tell me that oh, my cat is ready (not sure how long she had been ready). I was a little concerned but figured they may just be busy. So, I made a follow up grooming appt in person before I left the store for December 22nd, and chose that day because the employee gave me specific dates that the cat groomer was available and I chose from those. Experience #2: Since October 19th, I have had two appointment reminder texts as well as a request to confirm my appt on the website just yesterday morning. So, no sign of any issues. This morning, I arrived at 8am sharp again per their request, and after a few minutes the employee told me that they "must have missed" my appt and they couldn't groom my cat. She added that in Sept there was an accident with the cat groomer so her schedule is sparse; However I made this appt in person, after she was groomed, in the middle of October, according to the groomer's schedule, so to me that doesn't explain this at all. She apologized and said "they would reach out to me" without providing a timeframe. I was totally dumbfounded and honestly really frustrated, but the problem they caused wasn't fixable so I just said okay and took my cat home. What makes me the most upset is that like most animals, my cat gets stressed out being put into a carrier and driven around and I don't want to do that to her more than I have to. And now due to them for whatever reason not communicating with me on a basic level until I was standing in front of them, I have to scramble to find a new groomer again & hope they can get her in. Altogether, this business seems to have a lot of scheduling & communication issues and is not reliable. Needless to say, I won't be taking my animals here again. read more

Went today and the place was disgusting. I washed my dog in their self wash area and the sink was clogged with other dogs' hair. The floor was covered with hair. It looked like it hasn't been swept in a week. The water to wash your dog was cold. My poor dog was freezing. read more

Today was our first and last time using the wag n wash grooming service. I'm so upset right now that I'll just post pictures to show why you shouldn't use them (I'll also post the picture I showed as the example of how he usually gets cut). My goldendoodle was completely butchered. I knew he'd be shorter bc he had some mats, but seriously... they also cut his ear so bad he's still bleeding . They cut his other ear as well AND his foot AND his nose! He's almost 8 and has never been cut while being groomed. They make you pay before you see them ($105 before tip and I gave 20% on top of that). Like I said, never again. read more

Just took my dog in there for a wash. The water was scolding hot and steaming to where the customers with dogs in the bath couldn't continue. They lowered the temperature to where it was then ice cold. Customers were making comments and had to wash out the soap with ice cold water. My dog was shivering. they said they couldn't do anything about it right now and the water heater was messed up. It would have been nice to know about that before hand and not when my dog was already wet. I would have gone elsewhere if my choices were only scolding hot and ice cold. And then they had no problem charging full price. read more

This is the 2nd time my golden doodle was shaved on his head after giving clear instructions to only "trim" his fro and leave it long. I let it go the first time and they said they would make a note in his chart so I gave them a 2nd chance. Today I gave clear instructions again to not cut his head short and the groomer assured me that it would "remain fluffy". When I picked him up, he was scalped again! Manager pretty much said I didn't explain myself and next time they would know. She said "we can refund today, if you want"...seriously? that should've been done, with no question. I will not give them a 3rd chance and I would recommend to the owner to train your managers better on customer service and maybe listen to your customers more. read more

The store must have recently hired a manger who is very rude to customers. Walked in one day and heard her talking down to one of her employees in front of customers. Bad taste! I think the owners should be more involved with who they hire as managers, make frequent visits, and possibly get real feedback from customers and their employees. People have a choice where they shop, I don't want to deal with a rude manager, she appears to require some training in ethics and good customer service. You never yell at your employees in front of customers or embarrass them. I'll take my business elsewhere. 7 months later and the same manger is still working at this place. Someone needs to contact corporate about this manger. Rude and disrespectful. The way you hear her treat her employees and the way she treats customers. I'm going to encourage people to seek business elsewhere. I seriously can't figure out how they are getting rid of there good help and keeping this woman working there. In addition, everyone should be mindful that this place has hired a dog groomer that has a questionable past. Do some research. The owners obviously did not do a background check. This is by far one of the best pet stores around Castle Rock. I do not tend to shop anywhere else in town for my dog "Daroku." Great service, knowledgable staff, broad selection, and quality products. Their self-service dog wash is the BEST around. You can have the shampoo integrated with the sprayer head, different types of shampoo and conditioner offered. They provide every product a family may need. From various brushes, towels, fur products, aprons, and driers. In which if you need to use more material for larger breeds, like my boy. The employees are more then happy to help. Also was told that if a food we tried out, didn't work out for whatever reason. That I could bring back the rest of the bag and exchange it to try something else. That's fantastic! read more

I have been a customer since the store first opened. I have two dogs and use Wag N' Wash for all my dogs' needs (wash, nail trim, food, ...). Today I brought in my very old dog for a nail trim. This was my last visit to Wag N' Wash after my old (blind, deaf, and pretty weak in his hind legs) dog and I have been treated like dirt by one of the employees. Her name is Sky. Employee turnover in this store has been pretty high recently. Our favorite groomer left as well. This is not the store I remember and liked to bring my dogs to. We won't return. read more

We were in the area and stopped in to see if they had a particular dog toy that a friend of ours recommended and said he got here. They didn't have the toy, unfortunately, but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I will say, similar to many other reviewers, the free-roaming cats also took me by surprise. My puppy really took a beating from one of the cats, he was pounding on my puppy's face and head when he went in for a friendly sniff. We have a cat and he's never experienced that sort of interaction with her so it took him (and us) by surprise. I wouldn't say it particularly upset or offended me, but it's something to be aware of if you're bringing your dog into the store. read more

This was my first time there and my pups first time getting a bath. The staff at Wag and Wash is AMAZING!!! Jordan helped me get the right wash for my pup and explained how everything worked. There are three different washes you can chose wich go for $13.00, $15.00, and $17.00. For only being a four dollar difference i recomend the $17.00 wash. It comes with a stay in conditioner for after you dry the dog and even a cologne. I just want to add that the conditioner and cologne made Mojo smell amazing and his fur has never been softer. This is a do it yourself grooming center wich I like cuz its nice knowing that your pup is in good hands. They provide all the soaps, conditioners, towels, brushes, scrub pads and there is even a drying stations wich has hoses that blow out warm air for after you towel dry. The store also makes treats, cakes, cookies and all that good stuff on site in their pet bakery. Its a trip that you can get a birthday cake here for your pet but i definately will on his first birthday. All in all this place was amazing. I will never go anywhere else. I highely recomend you try it out for yourself and guarentee you will not be let down. Great service great setup and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. read more

We came in Sunday morning to wash our dog Tank. When we arrived we were greeted quite nicely by almost everyone that was working there. All the staff were quite friendly, the store was super clean and we were offered delicious doggy treats while we waited. There was a small wait to get Tank a bath. We were told about 20 to 30 minutes and we waited approximately 20 minutes. Kelley took care of us, she was very friendly and remembered us from our last visit. Kelley made sure that we got a bath with good pressure and everything we needed. There were a couple of staff members inside the bath area checking on everybody as well as ourselves regularly, a nice touch. When we finished almost everyone in the store said goodbye to us and thanked us for being a patron of the store. I would highly recommend this wag n wash for the exceptional customer service, great product and overall experience. read more

Absolutely convinced this is the smartest idea they could come out with! The self serve bath with available extras such as fur remover, desheding, warm skin softener and nail trimming with dremmel is well worth it. Too bad we couldn't do our own haircuts/trims with something like a flowbie...lol anyhow we had a great experience with the folks that work there, and must I say the baking in the bakery...Is not fair!! Their bones/cake/snacks smells SO good the dogs are lucky. We bathed our three dogs - a Full Yorkie, a mix Yorkie, and an English Bulldog. The baths, supplies, amenities, employees, store, are top notch. Worth the trip and much cheaper then sending to Petco (except they trim dogs with the service Im comparing). Wags has groomers you can make an appointment but they are fully booked out for a month so we opted to do our own. Nothing wrong with our visit - towels given, blow dryers, soap, wash clothes, sponges-scrubs...Etc. I would highly recommend this franchise but especially this one to anyone for convenience, savings, super service! read more

I called and spoke to the nice Castle Rock store Manger (Chuck) and was excited to go over and try out the self-wash. After a nice time at the dog park, myself and my 11 month old German Shepard headed on over to the wash. We saw a cat up front as we walked into the store and asked at the counter where we should go. Apparently, the cat followed us (behind a set of closed doors, or though some cat hole) to the wash area. As I'm listening to the employee (one eye on her and one on the animals because I noticed that the cat was creeping) show us the tubs, my puppy went over (next to me on a leash) to sniff curiously at the cat who was coming closer. Next thing you know, a loud hiss and a yelp, cat had scratched puppy on the face and blood flew on the wall. I was upset because I couldn't see how bad or where the wound was. The girl wiped some blood off the wall, while my dog backed way up (he's very gentle). The cat stayed there and hissed, I made sure my doggy was back while the wash girl... did nothing really. Then she explained the cat is very afraid of shepards as both cats (some other cat that I must not have seen) were attacked by one (like my Shepard was attacked by this cat). It wasn't too bad, a cut on his nose and a scared puppy, but it was bleeding so I asked her can we get something to put on him so that it doesn't get infected? So, she called in the groomer (Cale or Gale) who brought two cotton balls with some hydrogen peroxide on them. I said to him 'you know, if those cats are threatened by, and threatening to, German Shepherds, and you both saw that he is one, then why didn't you all say something or keep the cats away? 'Well because the cats live here'. Okay. I guess if the cat's live there then they must also be running the business. Because otherwise, I would expect that a public business, which caters to people and their pets, have a level of responsibility (high I would hope) that is instilled in their employees, practices and safety measures. What if his eye had been scratched, or if my dog was not the gentle kind or had been older and had bitten or killed the cat? This kid offered no responsibility, no apology and turned his back and walked out when I said the bit above about why didn't you warn us? My dog is super sweet. He was not a threat; the cat obviously has some issues. But the real issue is the lack of concern, care and responsibility that this store seems to accept and possibly standardize. I did a little research and the WagN'Wash's are franchises with a low barrier to entry, only a 40k fee, and 100k cost borrowed to open. https://www.franchisehelp.com/franchises/wag-n-wash/ This review is for this location only, but I wonder, considering the low franchise requirements set by the corporation, if there are any enforced standards ( rhetorical). I went in to ask if I could have a rib for my dog to chow on so that this whole outing/experience wouldn't have a negative connotation. I am currently fostering a dog through a great rescue group and i went down to Wag N Wash because one of the people that works there offered to have my pup's nails trimmed for free since I wasn't sure how to do it myself. While heading down there I decided to give her bath. I opted for the Ultimate Wash for $18. It makes washing really easy because the shower head mixes the shampoo in to the water cutting down on wash time. The staff is super friendly too and really love animals. They took the time to love on my foster pup after her bath and give her treats. Even though this place is a bit far out for me, I will definitely return to use their dog wash and buy treats. read more

I rarely write a negative review but I am compelled to do one today. We made a 1:00pm appointment for one of our dogs for a wash and brush out with a groomer. We decided to splurge on a groomer as we figured a professional would be faster than we would be. When my husband arrived and said he would like to be with the dog (older rescue dog) he was told he could take him to the cages! What! Then he was told that it would be three to four hours before the dog would be done. At no place on the website does it state that you leave the dog or that they are caged when booking with a groomer. We assumed it would be like any other professional appointment and would be seen by the groomer at the appointment time. We live two hours round trip from the store and it would be impossible to drop him off and then pick up 4 hours later as things are very busy on our farm. He was offered an 'Express' grooming with a waived fee but it would still be two hours. So, we are out over two hours of travel time and the gas for the trip and still have a dog needing a bath. The only upside is that the dog got a hamburger patty and shared tater tots at Sonic on the way home. Just be aware that an appointment time means nothing in this situation. read more

What a great experience! Took my 3 dogs in today to self bathe them, after a hot day at Chatfield. They were all pretty swampy. As soon as we came through the door, every employee greeted us and had huge welcoming smiles. While washing the dogs, a young man was scrubbing the area down so meticulously that I am sure it was cleaner than a surgical room. All very kind and knowledgeable. One young lady named Emily, was outstanding. She trimmed one of my dog's nails perfectly. And she explained how to trim a dogs' nails, when their nails are completely bkack. I have never been able to successfully do it, but I now feel confident, if I follow Emily's instructions, that I can do it. Emily stayed accessible during all 3 baths. She offered great advice throughout the visit. Emily loved on all of them and showed genuine affection and enjoyment of the dogs and her job. Completely pleasant, helpful, and non intrusive at the same time. What a great visit. Everything was clearly explained and all the employees were helpful, and obviously happy and enjoying their jobs. Thank you to all, and Emily is a true rockstar for the Wag N Wash. She never made us feel rushed or that we were flying solo. My dogs loved her sweet personality as much as I did!
