My rescue dog Archie is not a fan of baths, brushing or any kind of grooming. When it became apparent that he needed his nails trimmed, I was nervous to do it myself so I took him to Lisa at PetSmart. I explained that he hates grooming and can snap sometimes to try to avoid it. Lisa listened to my concerns and took her time with him to make sure he felt ok. I have taken him back many times now for baths, nails and trimming and Lisa always does an excellent job. She really listens to what we want if we get him trimmed and loves to work with him. He still doesn't like going to the groomer, but he relaxes once Lisa takes him inside and tolerates the work. It is so much less stress not having to try to groom him myself at home and knowing that he is being well taken care of by a professional. I highly recommend Lisa. I have read some negative reviews on here without a name attached, so I can't speak to the quality of the other grooming staff, but Lisa is truly wonderful! read more

As I sit here and read all these ridiculous comment about the grooming salon i can't do anything but laugh I've been brining my pooch here since they opened I absolutely love this grooming salon I trust them 100% with my dog some or these comments are just down right crazy I would be upset to work there if I had some of you guys as customers! read more

I had thee best experience today from the grooming department. Lisa did an AMAZING JOB!!!!! On my chocolate cocker spaniel ( Lady )!!!!! I've been to all the " top" groomers in Brooklyn and they have never EVER done such a detailed job as Lisa did with Lady!! When she was done Lady was happy and excited!!!! IM SO GLAD WE WENT!!!! So disappointed with this location. I wanted to buy a gold fish (med size)to feed one on my fishes and they refused to sell me the fish. They wanted me to buy there feeding fishes. (which looked sick and small) I could understand if it was a rare fish or a fish that was about to be extinct. But how can you tell a customer what fish or size you can use as a feeding fish. When asked to speak to the Manager he was rude and said there's nothing he could do!! Never will go there again they don't deserve any business. How can you run a place like that? This is about my grooming experience. I made my appointment online for a bath with extra sensitive shampoo (an added cost) for my 11 month old Cavalier King Charles spaniel. When I took him there they told me that they didn't have the package on the website and a lot of times they don't. I said okay then just use a gentle shampoo at no extra charge. Then I showed Marie the knots that were under his shoulders and I wanted them taken care of and she said fine. An hour later I get a call saying there was a knot behind the ears and could they take care of it? I said sure along with the other one. 45 minutes later I picked him up, left a 20% tip and went home. When picking him up, I found the knots were still there. They had done nothing. I called and after speaking to a manager Kelly, she said come in the morning and Marianne who had done the trimming would re-do. With the weather being bad in the morning, I snipped the knots easily myself - not a mat, just a knot. I then called and spoke with Christian, another manager, in the morning and explained the job was not done to satisfaction. He said if there's a mat it's an extra charge but again, this was not a mat. Just poor grooming. And the trim along the paws was haphazardly done. This is not the first time he's been to a groomer but you get what you pay for with PetSmart- careless and sloppy grooming. I'll pay more but get him beautifully done elsewhere. I recently got a Yorkie puppy and stopped by to pick up a crate. As Oliver is my first dog I had a lot of questions and wasn't exactly sure of what I needed. One of the trainers, Genevive, spent two hours walking me around the store, giving me advice and telling me exactly what I did and didn't need. I learnt so much from her and I am looking forward to taking her training classes. It was so lovely to meet someone who genuinely wanted to help, she is very knowledgable, and it is obvious that she loves her job. read more

I don't even have any pets - I'm allergic to furry animals- but I stop in regularly to see the beautifully cared for cats up for adoption at this well maintained store. The staff are so kind to the animals. Also, the dogs leaving the grooming facility look beautiful! read more

I absolutely love this petsmart, the workers are friendly, and helpful. Loved this place so much that my sister and I decided to bring our Yorkie here for grooming. Always had a good experience until recently. We made an appointment with a specific groomer, in which she was late. When the washer was asked to wash our dog she kept asking "why me?" which was totally unprofessional. Anyway, we left our pooch, but we were afraid that since we didn't see the groomer we made an appointment for, that possibly someone else would be cutting her hair (Which we did not want). We waited three hours to finally pick up our dog and realized that SOMEONE else was cutting our dogs hair, NOT the woman who we made an appointment with. When the groomers saw us, they knew they were making a big mistake. They then asked us to wait 30 more minutes because our dog wasn't done being groomed. Overall, we waited 4 whole hours for our dog to be finished. Im a pretty understanding person, but I do not like when Im paying for a service and not getting what I deserve as a customer. However, please do not let this review deter you from the whole store itself, because it is a great store. read more

I've been taking my dog here for years for grooming and dog supplies. The grooming service was to my satisfaction but the change in grooming staff has left me disgruntled. During my most recent visit for grooming services I noticed an additional charge on my bill "special handling". When I asked what "speacial handling" meant the front desk attendant could not explain. As I conversed with the front desk attendant, the groomer (Marioma) who processed the "special handling" charge to my bill began to yell from the back of the room "HIS DOG ALWAYS NEEDS SPECIAL HANDLING BECAUSE HES DIFFICULT AND IM NOT TAKING THE CHARGE OFF HIS BILL". As a paying customer I believe any questions I have concerning charges should be answered without condescendence. When I read my dogs progress report it said he wouldn't stand up for long so he needed special handling. Marioma continued on to say my dog has always been difficult but when I asked for a print out of his history records they proved other wise. My dog is 98years old in dog years and if he is too tired to stand for long that doesn't justify labeling him with behavioral problems that result in additional charges. I'm not sure if the groomers are under paid or over worked but I do not appreciate sneaky additional charges added to my bill and being confronted aggressively because I have questions. Marioma went on to say "HES WASTING MY TIME" as she walked to the back of the salon to bring me a copy of my customer contract. This out right display of disrespect and ignorance has left me with no choice but to take my dog else where for grooming service. The location is convenient but customer service is extremely poor at this location. read more

Recently bought a Chinese dwarf hamster here. The girl in the small pets area was very helpful, patient, and knowledgable...told me the pros and cons of the three hamster breeds for sale, steered me away from ones that tend to be a bit nippy. We love our little rodent! read more

This place is absolutely great. They have pretty much everything I have ever wanted or needed since I started on the aquarium hobby a few years ago. I just wish they had a wider selection of fish but they have 99% of what most fishkeepers would want. The staff in the aquatics department are so knowledgeable and helpful, they've never pushed any extra products onto me and always let me know if I was unnecessarily buying something expensive or overkill that I didn't need. Ive also gotten all my cat food, toys and other gear from here and it's been very handy to have this place so nearby. My only complaint about this place is that its a bit understaffed. On some days it's almost impossible to find anyone but cashiers here. I didnt see any now hiring signs anywhere in the store so i guess they wont be fixing this problem anytime soon. Id dock half a star for that but otherwise, this place is great. read more
