For a chain pet store, this PetSmart locations grooming is actually stellar! I booked a bath and brush for my (very curly) doodle about two days in advance, and was pleased to hear back from the groomer I selected the next day to confirm his appointment. I added an extra 15 minutes of brushing,to detangle his fur a bit, and a nail grind (nail trim is included, but I wanted the edges softened). I was surprised when I saw him 3 hours later, fur soft and smooth after a blow dry. He was completely free of all tangles and smelled fantastic! His paws and sanitary areas were also shaved down as per my request! The groomer was Michael, and overall I was extremely satisfied with his work! Overall, I will definitely be coming back to this specific location for at least future bath/brush appointments. I have yet to get the full haircut with a PetSmart groomer, but when spring comes around I can see myself bringing this curly boy here for the unavoidable full shave. read more

What can I say? It's a PetSmart. I don't have too much to say about it. It is in a big shopping area that is near a bunch of fast casual restaurants. Also I'm writing this little review as a regular product consumer. By which I mean I haven't used the grooming services or anything else here. The selection is nice and pretty big. The building is clean and well taken care of. The staff is all nice enough and helpful if you need any assistance. It's pretty much everything I could ask for in a big chain pet store. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop at this particular location, but if you're already here, you should be able to find what you need at a reasonable price. read more

I'll be honest, I absolutely LOVE PetSmart, I love going there and seeing the animals and getting my pets stuff from there because they have legit the cutest things! This PetSmart though? I really don't think you want my opinion other than to NOT go here. I mean I guess you could have figured that out by the multiple 1 star reviews that just keeps going and going (looks good on your company doesn't it?) ‍ Well I was looking through them and I have seen reviews where they talk about how this store treats the pets, pets come back with lacerations and cuts from GROOMING of all things, and that they do lots of horrible things to these peoples pets (which is despicable by the way) The people here at this PetSmart are absolutely RUDE. All I have to say is if you don't like animals and you don't want to SEE animals. Don't f**ing work there. Ongoing bad behavior... Zach appears to be asleep at the wheel. First he was extremely flat. Then he charged me twice for an item for which I had paid cash. I went to my car, noticed the overage and returned to the store immediately. Again in his very flat manner he processed my return. The topper, he insisted I give him a debit card to get my refund. I asked, "why I just paid cash." With a bit of wall-eye from dear Zach, I got my cash back. Hmmm....no apologizes or even a "Have a nice day" upon my departure. Update: I still like the convenience and work of their grooming salon, and still go here for dog food, treats and toys. Downgrading from 5 to 3 for a couple of reasons. First or all, the online stock didn't match the physical stock when I went to buy dog food recently. Second, they need more staff. MY DOG CAME HOME WITH A LACERATION ACROSS HER EYE. DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE! I dropped my sweet golden retriever off at PetsMart in Mueller at 8AM. At around 1PM, they called me and told me she was ready for pick up. They gave me a heads up that before her bath they noticed a cut on her eyelid but they had the vet give it a look and she was fine. I figured it wasn't a big deal since we have a new puppy that loves to jump and tug on her neck and face. So, I arrived at the store and immediately knew something was wrong. My dog came out of the back and her eye was rolling in the back of her head, it was oozing and her eyelid on both eyes was drooping. I asked the salon manager what happened, and he claimed that they didn't see anything happen and that the vet looked at it twice and flushed it with saline and didn't see anything. Of course, since my dog couldn't see out of her eye, I requested to talk to the vet that looked at her. They let me know she was at lunch but I could wait. About 30 minutes later the vet showed up and I asked her what had happened. She explained the same story to me that the salon manager claimed happened. I asked her to simply look at my dog and she said "yeah, that looks worse than earlier, I can run another test on it and take a look." I kindly said I did not want any of them to touch my dog again and left the store. I immediately went to my ER vet and after taking a quick glance at her they said they needed to take her in the back and run eye exams. A few hours later, it turns out my dog has a laceration across her entire eye. They're trying to tell me that they watched the footage and nothing out of the ordinary happened but we cannot see the footage for another week or two until legal looks at it... I wish I could attach photos here. It looks like my dog's eye was gauged out. For the safety of your animal, please please don't send them here and do your research. I wish I did more. read more

The groomers are so rude. They ac as if it is an inconvenience to schedule an appointment and super excited for your dog to leave. We have two springer spaniels and when we brought them in we told the groomers that we wanted a "spaniel cut". I also printed off pictures of what this looks like. When we picked them up not only had they not given them a springer cut but they cut all the hair off. when I asked them what happened and why why they didn't have a springer cut the groomer said that we weren't very clear on what we wanted. Both dogs also acted as if they hadn't had any water in a decade and basically almost Peed before they can get out of the store. Needless to say we will never ever ever go back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

I stopped in here to pass the time waiting for another store to be open. I browsed through the while, looking at the different critters and food options. The store was quite clean and I was impressed by the amount of time and care the staff was taking in cleaning cages, food, etc. Even though no one offered to help me during my wandering, the staff seemed friendly interacting with customers. I picked up some different kinds of cat food, each in small amounts, for Moose and Squirrel to give a try. The cashier was really friendly and efficient, which is sometimes hard to find today. I was satisfied, the prices and the selection were all OK. I will probably return again when I am in the area as this was a positive experience. read more

First of all, I want to call out that this review is solely based on the Grooming Salon - the cashiers & staff in the store have always been so helpful & friendly. But after coming to this salon for almost a full year, the heinous events of yesterday have prompted this review: Has the service always been perfect in the past? Absolutely not. It's actually very hit-or-miss with this location - sometimes they do what you request, other times they do whatever they want, but the end product has never been such a huge issue that I've felt the need to raise any concern or leave a bad review. However, yesterday I dropped off my Husky for her bi-monthly trim. As anyone who owns a husky or knows anything about heavy coated dogs, you're not supposed to shave them down. You're supposed to keep their undercoat as much intact so that it helps them regulate their temperature, especially in this TX heat. That's why we only take her in every other month and brush her out at home diligently to avoid any matting... So I drop off my dog in the morning for her appointment. I meet with her new groomer to explain to him exactly what we want - both my husband & I explained we just want her trimmed down, cleaned up. We do NOT want to affect her undercoat & definitely don't want to go to short. The groomer responded that he understood, made his assessment, and then took her in for her service... Fast forward to me picking her up and my poor husky has been practically shaved down!!! You can actually see her skin in certain spots. There is literally no more undercoat. My poor dog now has to remain indoors until she gets some of her coat back for fear of heat stroke & sun burn. Nevermind the cosmetic issue that she looks like a completely different breed of dog now. Please, do yourself a favor, and take your dog ANYWHERE else. If you can make the drive (which I no longer can but used to) take them to the PetSmart in South Park Meadows - probably the best PS Groomers in Austin, or go to literally any local groomer. I've included a before & after for reference, so you can see how INSANE this is... after expressing my shock & disbelief, the groomer even had the audacity to say "I'll add your preference to the notes for her next appointment." No way in hell I am ever bringing my dog back here! read more

PetSmart/ their grooming employees are severely misinformed. My dog was turned away at his appointment due to him having heart worms. My dog is undergoing treatment so he has no symptoms and appears to be in great health. PetSmart allowed me to book the appointment and proceed with a Check In knowing he is HW positive. Customer service told me it's because HW is a "contagious disease" (it is not) and because "he's not in good health" (arbitrary). There is not a single policy on PetSmart's website that alludes HW being unserviceable. So disappointing and a huge waste of time. read more

I love this location and it's staff! They always treat me and my dogs very very kindly! I will always choose this location. The groomers are so kind to me and I'm really shocked at the experience these people are having.... I suggest that it is varied because of how those individuals interoperate their interactions. As I've been coming here often, I've noticed many customers overreacting is such horrific ways towards the staff. Going as far as yelling at groomers AND managers AND other customers! I'll start by saying we've been loyal petsmart customers for the past 5 years and slowly over the years the service and quality of their grooming department have diminished. This is my third attempt at this location to get my dogs groomed. First attempt when we moved to Austin, I picked up my dogs and they were DAMP, I asked the lady working if they could dry them off more, she rolled her eyes and proceeded to "dry them" however they were not dry. I was annoyed at this point and just took them home- love the smell of wet dog. Okay, so I thought let's try it again maybe they were just really busy.. booked x2 weeks in advance at 8:30am only to arrive at the store to be told me the groomer didn't show up and they were unable to groom my dogs, they offered other dates but seeing that I have to work around my work schedule I told them I'll call them later. They didn't even apologized, shrugged their shoulders and that was the end of that- no even a I'm sorry discount?? Okay, So I thought, third times a charm. I was arrive on time (9am) only to wait 20 min to check in. Once checking in the lady at the front told me there's was a 16$ handling fee due to my dogs howling and size. They are huskies.... And 47 lbs. okay?? Then the lady proceeds to tell me they're unable to dry them completely because all they do is howl?? I told her wow this is the first time I'm hearing about this -seeing as we've been bringing our animals to petsmart the past five years. I asked for a little more communication, I wouldn't have brought them there if they couldn't groom them? Why would I spend 200+ to get wet dogs back?? Problem is, he was waiting outside in line to get into the grooming door for almost 15 minutes. That was after we called 4 times (no one answered) to state he would be late. I feel like the service and way of handling the situation should have been different. He drove 20 minutes to get there in traffic and they turned him away. We usually get a Lambs cut sometimes even with colored boots, tail, ears at a DIFFERENT groomer! He no longer lets me touch his ears or paws so we didn't take him back to prior place. Figured we could trust our local Petsmart! Every step he takes he is addressing his hind area and he is clearly distressed from the irritations. The groomer says it was probably from the tangerine shampoo they use HAHAHA!!! Really!!!? I think I have been through my shampoos well enough to know I have to bathe him after his groomings if I don't drop his shampoo off with him and he has NEVER had this issue where bloody excoriations and abrasions are present around the skin covering his ENTIRE little body. We have an appointment at the VCA today at 1pm to see his normal vet- the groomer offered an exam but aint no way in southern hell I'll be taking my precious cargo back to this torture chamber!!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL YOU WILL RUN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM THIS LOCATION!!! I WILL be pursuing this to the FULLEST extent if it happens to be a mandatory protocol was neglected by the medical professionel present as there is a veterinarian ON STAFF. I made a bath and brush appointment for my very large, very fluffy Great Pyrenees. I did the add-on package with the cute bandana & everything. I dropped him off at 11:30 and picked him up around 4:30. When I picked him up, he was still soaking wet. The groomer said it was because he "lays down too much". He did look very clean. His coat was white and shiny. But he did not appear to have been given the full brush. Even when I brush him at home there is a noticeable difference. Next, they told me he had matting (there was one spot I told them not to worry about because I was just going to cut it out after he was clean). They said that next time I need to pay to have his matts cut out which was confusing because on the bill there was an additional charge for the matting they didn't do. There was no explanation given about that. I paid the BS fee. And then went home to find his matt had been ripped out, his skin was raw and bloody, and the matted fur was left hanging there after being ripped out. He also didn't have a bandana when I picked him up, so I asked. The groomer said she "didn't know what package I got" but said she'd give me a bandana anyway. $130+ for the worst grooming experience I've ever had. From the customer service to the service itself, the experience was incredibly disappointing. I'll be taking my dog elsewhere from now on and advise everyone to do the same. read more

My dad has two longhaired dogs that come to stay with me occasionally, and whenever they do, a trip to the groomer is a necessity. My own dogs have short hair, so I don't have a standing relationship with an independent groomer. Petsmart's app makes it easy to schedule an appointment, and I have always been able to get in within a week. Everyone in the grooming department is super-sweet and friendly. Logan is the groomer that fixed up the boys this time, and they did a terrific job. The price is reasonable, and the pups look and smell fantastic! read more

I just had my first grooming appointment with Cheyenne T and I could not be more pleased. I recently adopted a senior shih tzu with some anxiety, but Cheyenne was patient and loving with him. He was in a great mood after the grooming and the cut is perfect! I told Cheyenne about how he has had some itchiness from an ear infection/ear drops, and now his ears are all cleaned up! I will definitely be going back for my dog's next grooming. The store was also very COVID safe with standing markers, face masks, and a one-customer-in- the-grooming-area-at-a-time policy. read more

I've taken my little dog to this Petsmart location for the past 3 years that I've had her. I'm very disappointed in this last weekend I took my dog to get groomed. I booked the appointment a month prior due to Covid and having restricted about of people working at a time and social distancing. I had booked for Lauren and the day before the appointment I got a text saying it had been changed to someone else. (Lauren was always so sweet to my dog and had cut her hair since I got her) First off, they could of given me a call to double check and my little girl hadn't gotten a cut for a while since quarantine so I just had to take her in. Once I got there her appointment was with Raven. He seemed pretty nice and everything was fine. Once I picked up my little girl I realized that some of her hair isn't cut even. I've never had this problem before! My little girl is always pretty still and doesn't bite at all so I'm not sure why there wasn't an even cut? It's really sad because I'm sure she probably wasn't treated so good or he wasn't patient enough with her and just decided to give up. Next time I will book with someone else. There's another very nice girl I've met at the grooming salon but I don't remember her name. I wish they had a picture of each employee or a card for them individually so I could of taken to remember her name. UPDATE, DO NOT BOOK WITH RAVEN. I remembered when I went to pickup my dog I saw him working on another sweet puppy. He was cutting the dog's nails and the dog moved a bit and he murmured stuff under his breath and held the dog kind of harder down. He's not patient with any dog and doesn't know how to do an even cut on small dogs. Literally I did a better job at cutting her hair at home than what he did. Never taking my dog here to get groomed again at this location. I pay for the top dog plus which includes, bandana, nail clipping and filing, and cologne. I came to pick my dog up and his nails were long and very jagged, looks like they spent about 30 seconds on it just to clip. No cologne and no bandana. I took him sometime later on again and told them please pay attention to his nails, and don't forget the cologne and bandana. It was the same as last time. We wanted to buy some fish and had questions on which fish we could put in a fish bowl. once they told us that it was only beta fish we changed our minds and wanted to get gold fish instead for fish tank at home. when we asked for gold fish they denied our request and told us no. We told them we had a fish tank at home and explained we just asked just to know what type of fish go in the bowl fish tank. Also when we said what fish we wanted she said no with no explanation at all, we were very confuse. We had to call a roommate to take a picture of our fish tank so they could sell it to us. Thank you for posting this!!!! I have had the same experience several times at this "grooming" salon of Mueller Petsmart. My dog has a heart murmur and now he's treated like he's the problem. They are rude, call incessantly when they're ready, question how far you live, then blame the dogs for their unprofessional behavior!!! They "bathed" my dog and then retuned him to me without his nails done!!! And, told me it was his fault!!!! His nails are dangerously long and they offered no solution or for us to try again? No care!! And, he's been going there for a couple years without incident?!! Ironically their staff is NOT animal FIRST!!!!!! I don't need the bath, but they wont nail trim without it now, a real racket they got. They blamed my dog because they couldn't do their job! When I raised my concerns, they defend their actions to the hilt. THEY SUCK!!!!!! I got the managers card to complain, but how they reacted by making excuses, and I have dealt with PS enough times to know, these are not isolated incidents. They do not care about customer service. There were glimpses of almost being helpful, but they were overshadowed by lack of eye contact, somber tone, and just the overall sense you weren't really welcomed. I consider myself an extremely easy customer and it really takes a lot from me to write a bad review. But this one doesn't feel even a bit difficult. I am just livid and extremely unsatisfied by the service my puppy had with Christina J. Upon dropping my puppy off, I had a bad feeling that it was not going to go well. Aside from not being greeted upon after standing in front of the kiosk for 5 minutes, I wasn't asked my preference on the trim and then she told me that the full puppy bath and trim service would only take 20 minutes. She was impatient when I politely talked to her about my puppy. I should have trusted my gut and canceled. When I picked up my puppy, he was extremely shaky but it looked like nothing had been done. He did not look like he had been trimmed, nor washed (hair still long as before, eye discharged not cleaned off from his face). I politely asked her about it and she unwillingly agreed to trim my puppy more. After 5 minutes of trimming, she then handed my puppy to me without asking about my satisfaction or saying a thing. It was the most awkward and uncomfortable interaction I have ever had with any person. Aside from feeling extremely ripped off, I noticed that my puppy's nails were cut too short, to a point where all quicks were showing. Worrying about what really went down, I examined my puppy closer when we got home and noticed that his ears were wet and foul. I am in utter disbelief and just hoping that my puppy recovers from this traumatic experience. I trusted Petsmart's employee's professionalism and skills and am feeling betrayed by my confidence. I have come to this location several times for my dog, and never have had a stellar experience, but also never a poor one. HOWEVER, I took her in this morning for her scheduled appointment and was met with complete disgust and rudeness for not wearing a facemask when I showed up for her appointment. I was told they could not take my dog if I was not wearing a face mask. I have no problem wearing a mask when it is provided by the store, or when I am informed ahead of time. This was not the case. I was discriminated against and asked to leave on multiple occasions after asking them if they were serious. I was never informed prior to the appointment that I would need a mask, and when I informed them that I was not told and that it is not required in the state of Texas, they told me that it was Petsmart policy. I have since discovered per their online guidelines that it is NOT policy to wear a mask. I have also called the national customer service, and they have informed me that it is NOT required to wear a mask to receive grooming services for my dog. read more

Another great review for this PetSmart -- the best one in town. I've been to many other PetSmarts and Petco and I keep coming back to this one. The groomers are really sweet, I brought in 6 lb Rambo for a typical yorkie grooming. He is a slightly skittish, older dog -- but has been groomed all his life. He came out clean, cute and happy. They ran out of the tangerine shampoo that usually comes with the standard yorkie wash/cut -- but they ended up using the Chi Dog Shampoo! OMG he smelled FABULOUS. The smell lasted for about 4 days, which is a long time, IMO. We are very active and go on two walks per day, plus it's been raining a lot. They had a good sale recently and even gave us a 15% coupon with our receipt for the Friends & Family discount. Can not stress how good the people are here. I think the lady who groomed Rambo was named Amanda. I recommend it here and won't be going anywhere else for a while! Thanks, PetSmart! read more
