Hold on tight.....this is a RANT!!!! I went this morning to…read moreget my dog's top layer trimmed down. Told the young man in there what I wanted and he said okay. He then made me an appointment for this afternoon. When you pull up our account....you see my dog's picture so you know what I was working with. I came in and I was told that a young lady (that wasn't in there earlier) was going to do it. She explained to me what would happen if they touched his under coat and I told her that I understood. Then I pointed at the picture they have of shaven coats to let her know where he is and where I wanted him to be and told her I didn't want his under coat touched. She then went into the temperature regulation and I again told her that I understood and that we had done everything else for 4 years and this is the last straw. Took some loose hair from him and showed her what was coming off and she said, "oh my God"..... and I said yes! All over my house and we both laughed. She then went into what could happen again and I said, "wait....i said that I understand....i don't know what is happening here". I looked at the young man in the back and said, "me and you talked, I thought me and you had an understanding". He shook his head yes and I said, "it really seems like you don't want to do it". She said "no!!! I will do whatever you want me to do" and I replied, "now I am nervous because I told you I understood all of what you are saying but you kept going like you don't want to do it. I just need help because this hair is excessive"! She then said, "well.....he is still going to shed.....it will just be smaller hairs". I told her that was the point! I then felt extremely uncomfortable and upset because this was my only day off and now I don't want to put him in the hands of someone that could be like, "I'll show her". I said I will have to go somewhere else. She said okay. Before I walked out of the store, I found a manager and told them what happened. They spoke to the young man and got a story from him and came back to me. The manager says that the young man said that he can do it for me tomorrow and for half off. I told him that this was my only day off and I am now afraid to leave my dog in the hands of someone that could be vindictive and I give them the example of arguing with someone that is dealing with your food. The young man came out during that part and told me that animal health and safety was their main priority and that they would never do anything like that. I told him I really hoped not. He then said that I didn't bring my dog in earlier so he didn't know what my dog looked like (again....we have an account and when you pull it up on the computer, you can see them). I told him that she kept beating a dead horse with the possibilities and I told her that I understood multiple times. It was just too much. I just don't feel comfortable. He said, "well, maybe you should go somewhere else because now WE feel uncomfortable.....". I said, "you have got to be kidding me"! I came in here, explained what I needed.....was told I could get it and then had someone make me feel uncomfortable because they were acting like they didn't want my business and was even offered an appointment the next day for HALF OFF and NOW ALL OF YOU IN GROOMING FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE "?!?!?!?! "And this is why I said I didn't want my dog in here for any of you to do it because after all of that, ya'll NOW feel uncomfortable "?!?!?! I said wow and okay. I'm done. I have never dealt with ANYTHING like this in a long time. I never got loud, smart at the mouth or anything!!!!! This was simply foul and a great example of all of the employees sticking together. The manager didn't even chime in!!!!! If you get into it with one, don't trust your fur babies to the rest!!!! Beyond disappointing and I have 3 dogs and they all have been there multiple times and we spend a ridiculous amount of money there. Never again. They get one star because they got 2 managers and neither one did anything!

Once I walked around I figured out that the right side when you walk in is for the dogs and the left side is mainly for cats and other animals. I can honestly say I am rely use to the store I use out of state which has pampered me and my dogs but this one seems nice. Their selection of dog food was decent, but I am use to speciality stores only carrying brands that aren't big box store brands. They have science diet (my dogs can't stand this food) and I was shocked but I guess every store is different. I was pleased to see some of the things such as dog brushes and toys were on clearance because great deals is my thing!! . When heading to the checkout I notice they have a board to let you know the special of each day. They have a reward program for bags of dog food, well we had started the first time since we purchased acana. Since it was the second time we purchased one before the guy looked up and found our name and guess what....there is nothing on the damn card. Ummm does that make any sense??!!! So he tells us we will only have one bag on their....I was upset because just like he explained we should only have a prior card if we have purchased one. Well duh!!! So this is why they are only getting 4 stars because we didn't get our stuff corrected even though the guy stated what would be the reason we have a card. Otherwise I would recommend people, just make sure you watch them write one your card before leaving.

I love it because it is not big box and I love to support local businesses. This place has been so great. It's been really easy, ordering the food over the phone. They pull up my orders through my phone number and they mix the food in the store by adding 2 free supplements, one oil and one flavor. Also, I am able to order a no corn food for him and they have a good variety of proteins: Salmon, Rabbit, Goat, Chicken, and Beef. I love to bring my dog with me when we go to pick up and pay for his food. They have lots of varieties of treats and toys and once in a while, he enjoys a pig's ear. I really love the employees too, because the always carry out my bags of dog food to my car. First class service!!

A Pet Lover's Paradise at Spetakular…read more El Paso is a city brimming with pet lovers, and it's no surprise that the vibrant pet-friendly culture influenced my decision to become a pet owner. Before moving here, I had never had a dog, but the city's passion for pets inspired me to take the leap. Now, as a proud pet parent, I have all the essentials--leashes, bowls, beds--and even indulge in spoiling my furry friend with stylish leashes, harnesses, and protective booties for those hot El Paso sidewalks. One of my favorite discoveries is Spetakular, a hidden gem I first found at the mall a couple of years ago when I bought a pair of booties for my dog. The quality was exceptional, and the service left a lasting impression. So, when I heard they were opening a standalone store, I couldn't wait to check it out. On November 23rd, I attended their grand opening at 11675 Montwood Dr. A4 (Montwood and Saul Kleinfeld). Spetakular is more than a pet store--it's a pet-friendly coffee shop and snack bar! While I enjoyed a delicious coffee, I saw other customers' dogs indulging in free puppuccinos™ and treats, which was such a delightful sight. The store offers: Customization Services: Personalize items for your pets or special occasions. Hosted Dog Parties: Celebrate your pet's milestones in style. Photo Opportunities: Seasonal photo areas perfect for creating memories. VIPP Program: Join their free program for exclusive discounts and events. The grand opening was bustling with happy customers and their pets. My son had a blast playing with some of the adorable dogs while I explored the store. I ended up buying a retractable leash, which was not only high-quality but reasonably priced. The shop also has an impressive selection of costumes, Christmas-themed accessories, and unique gifts for pets and pet lovers alike. If you're in El Paso and looking for a place that celebrates the bond between pets and their owners, Spetakular is a must-visit. It's a one-stop shop for pet essentials, gifts, and a little indulgence for you and your furry friends. Highly recommended!-TODOELPASO

The shelters in El Paso often have a lot of stressed and subsequently ill animals who need extra TLC for recovery. The cats at this rescue varied in age and temperament, but overall were well-adjusted and interactive, ate and drank well, were clean and healthy. I spent a lot of time sitting on the floor with them and getting to know the cats & kittens. My living situation as a traveler in a pet-friendly long term stay hotel was best suited for a pair of gregarious, well-adjusted kittens, and I found them! Although the Rescue is strict about adoptions, keeping cats indoors keeps them safer & healthier--ask any veterinarian about that! They partner with Pet Smart in El Paso for their adoptions, and their adoption fees are more than offset by the freebies and discounts, along with including microchipping, spaying/neutering, and full vaccinations. Plus a health guarantee for a couple of weeks. To the folks complaining about the rules, money alone should NEVER be the deciding factor for rescuing an animal, or adopting any living creature or even a human being. Being able to provide a safe and loving home and being responsible for a lifetime of care is the most important point of getting a rescue animal and adoption in general. They have every right to say no. I found the staff kind, courteous, helpful, willing to go out of their way to make the adoption work. As a human health-care professional myself (a physician), I truly appreciated their "kitty-centered" (and "puppy-centered", for that matter, as they have a very active dog portion of their rescue) approach to caring for animals in a rescue.
