My partner and I just called around 4:08 to ensure the grooming department had the room for a walk-in nail trim for our small breed dog. They told us there was room, and that they close at 6 pm. this woman also tried to tell us our 3 year vaccine was expired, and when we told her we could bring his up to date record which they do have on file, it became obvious they were trying to keep us from coming in. whoever we spoke to called us back to try and discourage us from bringing our dog after we had already established that we would be coming in. She told us that they don't take appointments or walk-ins past 4:30. If that's the case, change your hours to 4:30 not 6pm! To be called back twice to try and stop us from bringing our dog in for maybe 15 minutes of their time is ridiculou. Do better read more

Waited to pay and cashier was no where in sight. We waited and waited. I went to look for any employee to help us. I found a young lady to let her know that there was no one around to pay out. She snapped at me and said she will be there when she can. After a few minutes she came to the cashier's station. She took 2 people behind us first and made me wait. I finally walked out and I will never return. No customer service and when there is it can with an attitude! read more

This Petco has a lot of gold fish in one tank that because of this the fish eat each other. When I asked an employee why they had so many they said because of over ordering. STOP THIS. The fish can't swim in there because it's overpacked. Stop acting like you don't see it and do something about it! read more

Whatever you do,do not take your dog to get groomed by Genuine at Petco on Zaragoza. We took our Yorkie to get a haircut and he came out looking like a totally different dog. First, we told her that he did not like nail grinding and what do you think she did...use a grinder on his nails when we asked her not to. Secondly, she shaved him soooo short that he has razor burns on his neck and his butt area. She also shaved his entire face very short, whiskers and all of his eyebrows. She mentioned that he was scared when a male approached the table, she must have hurt him before the male arrived because Bruno loves everyone and normally gets groomed by a male. She absolutely has no business cutting dogs hair. Everything we asked of his haircut she did the opposite. Our poor baby is still very shaken up. read more

Drove to this PETCO to get same day Vet Services. I made the appointment online and it was a great experience. All the staff was super attentive but most I was very surprised to experience such a superb care from the Veterinarian herself. They answered lots of mu questions went above and beyond, made the trip totally worth it. My pet peed in-front of the staff all over the place, it was nasty and stinky and they all were don't worry we understand we got it. It was embarrassing but they made it all better. I purchased a bunch of items and many dollars later we got out of there. :) Yup, Petco is a bit pricey but you definitely pay for quality. read more

I usually don't like big retail pet stores but I recently acquired a pet snake, and I needed to set up his living quarters. Anyway, I like that I was able to order everything that I needed through the app and pick it up curbside. I had to return an item the next day and the staff was super helpful, one if them even helped me try and find lava rocks but we couldn't find them so he gave me some tips on what I could try. The only thing that they can improve on would be the check in from the app, it doesn't work. I waited the first time for 45 minutes before they were alerted. Other than that I would say this is the best Petco of them all. Plus they have some really good deals! read more

We travel full time and have a hard time finding groomers to squeeze our two dogs in for baths and cuts, the works. The staff was very helpful and pleasant! They did a outstanding job! I would be more than happy to go back during our travels! I'm recommending them. read more

Love this Petco! Not only is it conveniently located (Next to Sprouts - bonus points!) I've never had any issues finding what we need. They recently added store pick up, which I love. It allows me to shop through the American Airlines shopping website and earn miles. Score! Then comes the pal rewards, with the amount of food I get, close to $200 month, the rewards add up quickly. My smallest dog gets her pampering there and every time she comes out looking gorgeous and smelling delicious. I always forget the name of her groomer - but she is awesome! I do think that the head groomer comes across as a little condescending at times, but not a big deal. Overall, it's always a pleasant experience with great customer service and friendly staff. read more

This store has definitely changed compared to the previous time I was in there. The associates are much more friendlier and seem to be more helpful when you are asking for assistance to locate an item. My dog really enjoys walking around the store too and seeing and finding all the new smells. If you are looking for a nice stop for all your pet needs this is deff a good place from lizards to dogs they got the whole pet family covered. read more

The employees here are always helpful and friendly. They offer dog training and also have cat adoptions available. The quality of products here are very good. The prices can get a little bit expensive but definitely worth it. If I'm in the area at Specs or Home Depot, I always stop by to get a few fresh treats (for my pup) that they have at the register. They are identical to actual cookies with sprinkles. My husband had almost mistaken it for cookies, luckily I caught him before he tried it! lol read more

Excellent staff. The head groomer, Jesse, handled my dog Luna, who does not like groomers at all, with genuine affection and skill. He succeeds where other groomers have failed! At least in my experience, I am very appreciative of the professionalism and skill of the staff, especially Jesse; and the cleanliness and organization of the store. This particular Petco is located in the same new shopping strip as Gander Mountain, a Wine and Spirits and Finer Foods store, and a soon-to-open Sprouts. The Home Depot is within walking distance too. It is very clean, orderly, and spacious inside this Petco. It is newer so I guess that should be expected but still nice to experience. I actually think this Petco carries better selected products, a bit more natural products too, than the nearby Petsmart. Products are competitively priced, plus discounts and deals are offered for Pals Reward members (free to sign up). The animals for purchase or adoption are located near the front of the store (towards the entrance) so it actually feels like a store for pets, if that makes sense. The employees I have interacted with are so friendly and helpful. One went out of their way to get a question answered for me even though their shift had ended for the day (unknown to me at the time). Didn't pawn it off on someone else or have an attitude, quite the opposite and said "have a great day ma'am!" walking out the door. Now I haven't tried their other services (grooming, training, or vet) which can influence an experience but just from a general shoppers stand point, I think this location is off to a great start! read more

Sorry to say that I'm really disappointed in their grooming services. I went today to drop off my furbaby for a haircut. Picked her up and her haircut was not the greatest. I told my husband that she still smelled. She didn't smell pretty like she usually does. I couldn't figure out the smells until we were almost at my in-laws. She smelled like chlorine. We had previously had a get together and she was in our pool. So. I paid $50 for just a haircut that wasn't even that great and a smelly dog. I will stick to the one back home in San Antonio. Thanks El Paso. I thought you were better. read more
