My cat with his cone head after his procedure.
    Breyanna B.

I recently took my cat here to get neutered. As they suggested, I got there early and was one of the first people in line. While I was dropping my cat off and going through the information with one of the vet tech and going through the procedure information the vet tech made me feel like he was just trying to sell the additional options for surgery such as the IV fluids. I didn't feel like he was concerned with my cats health, he was concerned with making a sell. Plus he kept looking at the papers...he didn't seem very knowledgeable about the services they offer. The follow up care was great. I really loved that they called later on in the day to see how my cat was doing. I got another call about a week later but I missed that call. They didn't leave a voicemail so I'm assuming they were calling to see how my cat was doing. Another thing that wasn't a big deal is that they told me my cat would probably pee on himself. But I truly wasn't prepared for how soaked in his own pee my cat would be. I googled things to do to help my cat and learned that I can't bathe him in water for a few weeks post neuter, so I bought a waterless shampoo and cleaned his tail and legs but stayed away from the surgery site. This mobile vet service is a great idea, I love that they go to different parts of town. I would take my cat back to here but I do plan on looking around at other options because I don't like that I felt peer pressured to buy things I can't afford. The veterinarians seem very sweet and my kitty is healing just fine. Thank you paws and hooves:)

Thank you Amanda and Paws N' Hooves for the prompt and great service!

When he originally got his cast, I had drawn a little heart on it that said "Mom loves you." When they had to recast his foot today, the staff paid attention to that small detail and put a heart on the new cast for me. That meant more to me than they probably realize. It showed compassion, attentiveness, and that they truly care about both their patients and the people who love them. Thank you for not only taking care of Batman, but also for taking care of my heart as a pet mom. I really appreciate the kindness and attention to detail. Highly recommend this clinic.

I would not recommend Eastwood Animal Clinic, and I will not be returning…read more For clarity, my experience was with the younger of the two veterinarians at this practice. I am intentionally not naming the veterinarian because my purpose in writing this review is not to personally attack an individual. I want this review to remain focused on my experience as a client and, most importantly, the care my dog received so that other pet owners can make an informed decision. I brought my dog in because she was clearly not herself and something was wrong. I love my dogs and have absolutely no issue spending money on appropriate veterinary care, diagnostics, or treatment when it is warranted. What I do have an issue with is spending approximately $3,000 on testing, bloodwork, imaging, and examinations only to have the actual problem missed. After all of that testing, I was left without an answer. Most concerning to me is that I was charged over $200 for an examination, yet apparently a thorough oral examination was not performed. Had someone simply looked carefully in my dog's mouth, they may have discovered what another veterinarian subsequently found: a fractured, infected tooth and significant trauma in her mouth. During this process, my dog was also shaved down for diagnostic testing, and even after thousands of dollars had already been spent without identifying the cause of her symptoms, I was being advised to pursue additional costly testing. What is incredibly difficult for me to reconcile is that increasingly expensive diagnostics continued to be recommended while something as basic as a thorough oral examination appears to have been overlooked. I ultimately took her to another veterinarian who was considerably more thorough in his examination and approach to differential diagnosis. He identified the problem and treated her appropriately. The difference in the quality of care, problem-solving, and communication was remarkable. My frustration is not simply about the money. Again, I will spend whatever is reasonably necessary to care for my dog. My concern is paying thousands of dollars for extensive diagnostics--and being encouraged to spend even more--while something as fundamental as a thorough physical and oral examination appears to have been missed. Equally disappointing was the veterinarian's communication and bedside manner. As a medical professional myself, I understand that medicine is not perfect and that diagnoses can be difficult. I also understand the importance of listening, communicating respectfully, performing a comprehensive examination, and working systematically through a differential diagnosis. The manner in which I was spoken to was dismissive and, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. I am especially troubled because my dog was already extremely thin and struggling to eat. Missing a painful problem in her mouth meant additional time in which eating was difficult for her. Eastwood Animal Clinic prominently displays its awards and accolades. Based on my personal experience, the care we received did not reflect the level of excellence those awards would lead a pet owner to expect. I intend to share my documented experience with the organizations associated with those recognitions and allow them to evaluate it for themselves. I don't expect veterinary medicine to produce the correct diagnosis every single time. I do expect a thorough physical examination, thoughtful clinical reasoning, respectful communication, and appropriate consideration of straightforward explanations before moving into thousands of dollars of diagnostics and recommending even more. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will not return, and I cannot recommend Eastwood Animal Clinic to other pet owners.

After a frustrating and upsetting experience elsewhere, I brought my girl here still in pain, without answers, and desperately needing someone to take a fresh and thorough look at what was going on. Dr. Ivan and his team did exactly that. They took the time to thoroughly examine her, found the problem, explained what was happening, and immediately developed a plan to help her. After extensive testing elsewhere had failed to identify the cause, Dr. Ivan and his team discovered that she had a fractured, infected tooth along with significant trauma inside her mouth. Finally, we had an answer--and more importantly, she was going to get relief. What truly meant the most to me was the level of compassion Dr. Ivan and his team showed my dog. They stayed late on a Friday to take care of her, remove the painful tooth, repair the trauma in her mouth, and make sure my girl didn't have to spend another weekend hurting. That kind of dedication and genuine concern for an animal is something I will never forget. The entire team was kind, compassionate, thorough, and professional. I never felt rushed or dismissed. They listened to my concerns, treated me with respect, and most importantly, treated my dog as though she genuinely mattered to them. I love my dogs tremendously, and when one of them is hurting, I want a veterinary team that combines excellent clinical judgment with genuine compassion. That is exactly what I found with Dr. Ivan and his team at East El Paso Animal Hospital. Seeing my girl finally comfortable and beginning to feel like herself again after everything she had been through was such a relief. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Ivan and his entire team for taking the time to find the problem and for going above and beyond to take care of her. Dr. Ivan and team, thank you for staying late, for taking her pain seriously, and for taking such wonderful care of my girl when she needed it most. You have absolutely earned my trust. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ivan and his team at East El Paso Animal Hospital. This is where I will be taking my dogs from now on.
