I ended up doing a mixture of rice/spring mix lettuce for the base, chicken, tomato's, sweet potatoes, broccoli and a hint of blue cheese. I topped it off with a drizzle of their Thai vinaigrette. I also had to get a banana & strawberry smoothie which was so good and not watery. 10/10.

But I needed something different, because the Greek food scene here just hasn't hit the same for me after growing up around Chicago and living on both the East and West Coast. This place was exactly the kind of spot I was hoping to find. First off, the owner is an older gentleman and he's awesome. I ordered, stood at the register waiting to pay, and when he came back he asked if I needed anything else. I told him, "I need to pay," and he just goes, "No, you pay after you eat. Don't worry about it." You don't find many places like that anymore. The gyro itself was packed to the absolute brim. Honestly, it could easily be two meals. The meat had great flavor, the pita was fresh and flaky, and everything worked perfectly with the tzatziki, feta, lettuce, and tomato. The place itself is simple when you walk in. Nothing flashy, nothing overdone. But between the owner, the regulars, and the overall feel of it, it almost feels like you're sitting in someone's home you grew up in. Comfortable, welcoming, and real. Definitely a must-try. The gyro gets a solid 8.1/10 from me.

You walk in, you order at the counter, you find a table. The format is familiar. What lands in front of you is anything but ordinary. So, I am going to address the dessert situation first and without apology. I started with the baklava before the rest of the food arrived. Why? I am not a Padawan. I am a grown Jedi who has earned the right to sequence a meal however the Force sees fit, and the Force saw fit to begin with dessert. The baklava was sweet, crispy, and exactly what baklava is supposed to be when someone actually makes it properly. I considered ordering another. A Jedi exercises restraint. I waited for the rest of the order instead, which did not take long, so the sacrifice was manageable. When the full spread landed on the table the presentation alone was doing work. My partner's Greek salad with chicken kabob looked as good as it tasted, which turned out to be very good. I sampled the chicken kabob and it paired beautifully with my roasted red potatoes, which came out tasting like olive oil and lemon pepper had a perfect collaboration and decided to coat every potato equally. My Street Gyro had the kind of meat to vegetable ratio that suggests whoever assembled it understood the assignment. Good balance technically, but the balance leaned toward more meat, which is the correct direction to lean. The Ruffles chips that came alongside were a chaotic and welcome addition to an otherwise Mediterranean operation. Nobody saw that coming. I respected it. My partner finished the chocolate chip cookies and had no complaints. I had no complaints about anything. Taziki's is not trying to be a sit down Greek dining experience and it does not need to be. It does what it does cleanly, consistently, and with enough flavor to bring us back the next time the craving for Greek food makes its presence known in the Force. Five stars, would absolutely return. The baklava alone justifies the trip.

The guy working was very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes to us in the Buffett. We opted for the Buffett today (only runs fri-sun) and while I would love to tell you everything we had, I'd be lying if I said I remembered all the names of the dishes. But trust me when I say the food was fresh, hot and lots of variety. Started off with some hummus, salad, pasta salad, and some other cold sides that I forget the name. The pasta salad was fine, but def okay to skip and stick to the other sides to which you won't be disappointed! The pita was also fresh and so good! Some of the stand outs for the main dishes I LOVED the mushroom beef dish and the chicken I got was so tender it was FALL OFF THE BONE! Also their spaghetti (reminded me more of a Mac and cheese) was so creamy and packed with flavor along with corn and mushrooms. Sounds wild, but trust me - so good! It was overwhelming trying to decide what to get next and making sure I didn't over do it too much so I could try everything! Again I know this isn't the best since I don't know all the names and I have no pictures (I ate too quickly and then realized after the fact and didn't think empty/dirty dishes would be appealing). Just trust me when I say the buffet is worth it. I then had the baklava for dessert and that was also good! We can't wait to come back and order from the menu. Looking to try gyro for sure next time! Also the grocery side is great and has a lot of items and candies to choose from. Definitely a place you'll visit and not leave empty handed or hungry!
