Wow! Where do I begin? Coffee is always fresh and hot! The bagels are fresh, bacon is crispy, the pizza is perfect and the staff is friendly and FAST! Excellent service and they know your order when you come in. Salmon with rice and broccoli is perfectly cooked. Salmon is fresh and moist. My office regularly caters in from here for about 15 people. The food is always excellent, packed beautifully and comes with all the serving utensils, etc. . Today we had trays of Greek salad ( outstanding), vodka penne ( delicious), chicken piccata ( also fantastic), broccoli, sausage and peppers with potatoes ( excellent). Sometimes for my job I am stationed at the Brooklyn Army Terminal and the only place to eat in their is Pete's. I am going to review the pizza today but I've had several items on their menu and none of them disappointed. I ran in tonight right as they were closing so just I grabbed a slice and these Garlic Poppers thing. Which is basically a garlic knot on steroids. It's like a mini garlic knot sandwich with mozzarella and pepperoni inside. I pretty much get like 3 of them every time I'm in there. Soft, oily and buttery goodness. The slice I got this time was mushroom and red onion. I never had that combo on a pizza slice before but I will from now on. The slice was perfectly cooked, not to oily and perfect amounts mushroom and red onion. Def going to get it again next time I'm there. read more

This review is for the Pete's Brooklyn Eats inside the Brooklyn Army Terminal, Building B. Apparently there are 3 of them close by - this is the 2nd of the branch, there's a restaurant that's in BAT also (Building A, I think) and the 1st store which is a couple blocks away on 1st ave (& 56th St, maybe?) and looks more like a pizzeria that makes a few extra things. When you walk in, it's a nice & bright spot with lots of seating. The first thing you see is the pizza, which looks okay. Then there's a small fridge with pre- made sandwiches, paninis, salads, etc., followed by a hot plates section, and lastly, the dessert fridge. There is also a drink fridge on either side of "the food bar". I came here looking for a panini, looked on the menus posted on the wall & settled on a Sicilian grilled chicken panini. Apparently they don't make fresh paninis. You get whatever's in the fridge- and that's it. Unfortunately, I don't like my paninis to have cold chicken and cheese and hot lettuce & tomatoes, with fake grill marks on the bread! The lady just looked at me like "I don't know what to tell you. " Fortunately, there was another lady there who knows a little something about customer service and suggested a chicken quesadilla as an alternative. It's definitely not what I wanted initially but, at least I'd have warm chicken and melted cheese, so I conceded. The quesadilla came out fairly quick and was good. It was a little light on the chicken but had a nice taste along with the sour cream, guacamole & sauce. The lady who made the suggestion asked if it was good as she left. I told her "Yes" and thanked her again. The music was set just loud enough to hear. NY1 is on the tube but the volume is off & there's no closed captioning (I hate when places do that! What's the purpose of having the TV on if you can't hear it or READ what's happening!?!) One of the workers attempted to get the closed captioning for me but couldn't figure it out. At least he tried, or appeared to try. I gave them 4 stars mainly because of the 2 workers who made an attempt to satisfy me. Otherwise it MIGHT have been a 3. If I'm close by another time I may or may not try something else on the menu to see if they keep the 4 stars. I think the super positive reviews of this place are fake, because I don't know how they do it, but Pete's manages to make the worst version of everything that I've ever had in NYC. Pizza? Soggy and tasteless. Vegetables? Even soggier and more tasteless. Meatloaf? Prison food. The prices are too high, especially given the poor quality. The owners frequently yell at their employees. When people sit in the common area where the seats are in BAT, they rudely kick them out, unless they've ordered something from Pete's--even when there are many empty seats. Pete's is a joke at my company, because we all wish there was a better place in this building. It wouldn't be hard! read more

I eat lunch here frequently and I'm working my way through the entire menu, which is a challenge because it's enormous. That said, everything I've had has been outstanding. The staff is one of the best I've seen at any restaurant in Brooklyn. Everyone is always smiling and they ALL move with a purpose - something that's sorely lacking in many eateries I've tried around the area. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for my food even on the busiest days. These guys could teach a college level course on customer service. It's something to behold - believe me. BOTTOM LINE: Outstanding home cooked food prepared by a talented and fast-moving staff in an impeccably clean kitchen at a great price. When the cafeteria at BAT (the Brooklyn Army Terminal) shut down, we were all disappointed that we all had to shlep the extra half a block to find food. Luckily, Pete's Place took over the location a few months later. While they haven't yet moved into the actual cafeteria space, they've set up a neat little food court of one of the BAT buildings. Pete's Place serves some very nice food. They have the traditional Italian stuff, like lasagna and baked ziti (a must for any deli), but they also branch out with such fare as jambalaya and tequila sunrise (chicken in an alfredo sauce). They also feature a daily soup, which usually delights. Wraps, sandwiches, pizza, and pastries are also on tap. Now for the bad. Since the food is brought from their regular location a block away and warmed in chafing dishes, it can get cold. Nothing a few seconds in the micro can't fix, if you're able. They're also a bit expensive, much more expensive than other places in the area. You definitely pay for the convenience of not having to walk across the street or down the block. Their food is at least a dollar, if not more, than their nearest competitor. All-in-all, though, I tend to go there for lunch more often than anywhere else because the food is good, and if I'm not going to order large portions the price difference isn't that bad. read more

Pete's has monopoly as the only place in BAT and they know it. They don't attempt to make food edible to human beings. The most depressed I've been this summer has been eating the cold and tasteless food at Pete's. One time i ordered baked ziti and I had a puddle of sweet tomato-y water in my dish. I've eaten here a few time and the food I have tried here are delicious. This business was small and cozy and the main customers are people who come in from the Hospital nearby. With that being said, there is always a seat. The staff is always nice and friendly when your ordering your food too. Only downside is that since it gets so busy with the hospital employees, it can take some time for you to get your order. But you should definitely try this place. Pete's is located in the BAT building and is one of the few restaurants in the area for breakfast and lunch for the employees of the BAT complex. The employees of Pete's are very friendly and welcoming. The owners are very nice and interact with all of the customers. My favorite thing to eat here is the Salad Pizza! A friend recommended Pete's to me and I'm so glad he did! I stopped by for lunch today and ordered an eggplant roll. It tasted amazing! The roll was a good size, I actually felt pretty full after just eating the first half but I continued eating the other half cause it was just that good. The staff are very courteous as well, and they are great at making sure everyone gets served in a timely fashion. I walked in during lunch hour with a good number of people in front of me, but I received my order in about 5-6 minutes. I will definitely be coming back here for lunch more often. read more

The new (ok it's been a li'l while now) dining area is a very nice improvement, I'd not had it before, but I enjoy the burgers and I'll occasionally get a hot dog in pizza wrap, perty groovy and a fair price. I had to knock a star off because I don't understand their line system, but otherwise I enjoy the nice selection of made to order sandwiches, burgers and pizza options. I also have breakfast here every work day. EVERY work day. Wish they had more cinnamon Raisin bagels, but the plain are tasty too, and mmm LOVE the rice crispy treats!!! There isn't much choice where I work in terms of good food, and it can take up to half of my break time just walking somewhere, let alone ordering. Pete's is not only convenient, it is good food. My favorite is the Meatloaf. The food is very reasonably priced. The staff are pretty friendly, too! This is a big building with a lot of businesses, so while I wouldn't expect them to know anyone personally, I do feel that they address me knowingly with a smile and a nod when I order, letting me know that I am recognized and appreciated. I work in the next building. And stopped by Pete's everyday for lunch and breakfast. Really like the owners. very sweet couple. But the employees always have an attitude. One of the girls once made a comment on the amount of food I eat and how skinny I am. I can put up with anything when the quality of the food is good. But today I got something extra in my coffee. I bought a coffee with my breakfast. But opened it in my office. I sipped it and felt something on my tongue... I thought to myself...God, please no...I spitted it back to the cup...and it was a COCKROACH!!!!!! Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went back right away, just to acknowledge the staff that there was and insect in the coffee, so they would stop serving it to the other customers. I even showed them the contents of my cup. First thing the lady said - "That's not from us!" Really, lady, you just served me the coffee yourself and you don't recognize it. Then she said "When i served it to you, there was no cockroach". Yeah, right, why would I add a cockroach to my coffee when I'd rather die then come several feet close to any of them... I'm scared of them more than anything in this world. and today the worst nightmare came true! Thanks Pete's!:(((((((((((( I asked the lady not too serve that coffee to anyone, she told me it was a different coffee they serve to the customers now. What a bull***?! She gave me 2 bucks back.
