The umami was stuffed with lots of different ingredients. (Too many for me to remember off hand). Both were delicious. The health nut salad was delicious too. Nice change over from the usual deep fried sides. Our server (Chloe) and service were both excellent and attentive. We left very full and satisfied.

My french fry loving son, had no issues with his fries but skipped the chicken nuggets. My poor husband had to polish off whatever was not eaten by our kids after he ate his burger and poutine. I had the plantbased burger and I had no complaints. I will say their pickles are really great on the burger and loved their house sauce that came on it as well. Their fries are on the meatier side and I only ate a couple and passed the rest on to the kids, since the burger was pretty filling on its own. They had toy story playing on the tv in the restaurant. Super cute. It was pretty pricey coming to around $100 after everything was paid out. I'd probably come back for some apps and small bites in the future when visiting in town.

The chicken was my least favorite, though it wasn't bad. Everything else was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I'd really like to come back another time for proper drinks--they have an impressive wine list and a nice selection of sangrias that caught my eye. Definitely worth a return visit if you're passing through Kingston.

To start the music was very loud and childish which suited the extremely young servers who would mostly stand in the back looking at their phone. My father and I both ordered steak frites which we had to wait 30 minutes for and received two different cuts of meat. His piece was obviously not a good cut which is unacceptable for its high price. To top it off our food was swarmed by two bees and a fly who just would not leave. (My mom and I are both very allergic to bee stings.) It was outrageous and I never saw anything like it. We tried to accommodate to the unfortunate situation by continuously swatting them away and attempting to move but the bees would just not go away. It was obvious they were extremely attracted to something in this dish maybe the sauce. The restauruant needs to address this issue because how can you have these bees on the rooftop be so attracted to the food that you provide ruining the experience for the customer. We ultimately decided to leave the restaurant.

For the main meal, I got a half dozen oysters, an order of cha gio and their Ahi Dragon Noodle Salad. The cha gio were crispy, not greasy, sweet and savoury. The oysters were super fresh, sweet and a good size. Along with the usual condiments, they included pickled red onion, which is the first time I've ever had this. I really enjoyed the acidic sweet bite enhancing the sweetness of the oysters. The Ahi Dragon Noodle Salad had microgreens, red cabbage, red and green and yellow sweet pepper, red chili pepper, edamame, coriander, green onions, and fried parsnip chips. The Ahi was charred on the outside, fresh and meaty. I appreciate that the sesame oil, soy sauce and hint of chili on the perfectly chewy noodles was separate from the veggies. The vegetables had a very clean flavour, but I would have liked something more, maybe a touch of citrus. A glass of good wine rounded out the whole experience. I was way too full at the end of the meal to even contemplate dessert. All in all, a great meal, and I would return any time.

I haven't had the chance to dine in the cafe yet, mostly because it gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. That said, the bakery/store has so many great finds. Their bread is excellent quality and a great value for the size, at around $5 for a small loaf and $8 for a larger one. My favorite is the olive rosemary sourdough, which is absolutely delicious. The saucisson sec is another great local find. The baked goods offer a nice rotating variety, with everything from Québec maple chômeurs to Italian maritozzi. On my last visit, I tried the Vietnamese coffee panna cotta, which was excellent. There's also an large gluten-free selection, ranging from breads to fresh-baked goods. The gluten-free scones are a particular standout. Beyond the food, Pan Chancho also has a great selection of kitchen and pantry-related items, including spices, pasta, sauces, hand towels, reusable bags, and more. It's the kind of place where you can go in for a loaf of bread and easily leave with a whole bag of interesting little things. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in downtown Kingston! The bakery alone is reason enough to visit, even if you don't get a chance to sit down at the cafe.

Went for breakfast after leaving my dad at KGH for surgery - wanted to sit down to eat - ordered pancakes with ham - came to me raw inside, which I took a big bite of, came back half cooked the second time so another lovely mouthful of soggy mix - I ate the han which they moved from one plate to the other - I won't be back - oh and they charged me for the full meal, I did eat the ham I guess that was worth $12 - staff were good - husband said his BLT was fine read more

There were scrambled eggs, fresh crumbled bacon, cheese sauce and that glorious pulled pork on top. I really enjoyed this dish. Great idea, breakfast poutine! While eating I got to speak the owner (I believe she was). She was from Arizona so we are both dual citizens. We had a good talk about Dump decimating the US. The owner is a very liberal, accepting, kind person. Makes you feel good to support businesses run by compassionate people. The service was great. Food was phenomenal. After forcing us to move, the same server didn't even bring our food to the table, she just told us it was sitting on the counter. When we collected it, we only received the two breakfast sandwiches. The coffee that was included in the combo was completely missing (we didn't realize till after we left). We waited just under 25 minutes for a simple takeout order. The combination of uncommunicated rules, being demeaned and moved like we weren't welcome, the confiscation of the drink, and the incomplete order made the whole interaction feel disrespectful. The atmosphere is nice, but the rude service left such a bad impression... won't be back unfortunately.

My sister ordered the Eggs tosca with sausage, home fries and toast. The portions were huge. The veggies in the omelet were super fresh. The poutine was solidly good. We got refills on our drinks fairly promptly. Overall it's a good solid experience if you're in the area.
