As I'm not a big fan of breakfast at hotels and due to COVID the hotel I was staying at wasn't offering anything for breakfast, I decided to give Eggsquis a try. Ever notice how if your by yourself you get seated in the most dreary table. Well that's where they seated me, in the travel isle for the staff between the kitchen and the wooden half wall (I note anyone who is sitting in this area can hear all that is said in the kitchen) Normally I would have asked to be seated somewhere else but as I was quite hungry I just let it go. The waitress was quite pleasant and efficient and was quick to get me started with coffee and got my order taken care of. So onto the food, I'm of the opinion if I can make it better than they can, they're doing something wrong. I ordered what I would consider to be a basic American style breakfast, two eggs sunny side up, bacon, potatoes, toast, garnished with fresh fruit. Eggs were steamed and not sunny side up, bacon was greasy, toast was soggy (isn't the definition of toast to make warm and crispy) and slathered with some sort of spread, potatoes were deep fried and soggy (had been sitting around for quite a while), and the fruit was hard and un-ripe (poor quality). It would seem to me if I was a waitress and a number of plates were being taken away with un-eaten food on them, I would inquire with the customer if everything was to my satisfaction. Maybe they just don't care or maybe they have asked and nothing is ever done about it. Anyway when I don't get asked why I didn't eat my food, I don't volunteer the information and just don't come back and or write a review. All in all quite a sub par breakfast and I wouldn't recommend. In the future I will look for a local diner as they seem to know how to make breakfast. read more

Liked how they bring you an entire carafe of coffee to enjoy with your meal, makes things so much easier! My eggs were cooked perfectly and I liked the small selection of fresh fruit on my plate. I could see how this place would be just hopping on the weekends in Kingston ;) Definitely would return if I am in the area again. I read some of the reviews and noticed plenty of 5 stars and then noticed one with 2 stars who complained about not serving pancakes and complaining about the quality for the price. If you want the typical greasy spoon, this is not the place. You will notice a bright, spacious, clean restaurant. TV screens displaying their menu items. We were seated and served promptly. Served with a nice hot cup of coffee along and a thermal pot so you can fill your own without waiting for a refill. Fresh OJ from freshly squeezed oranges and not from concentrate. The menu looks delicious and the hard part is what to order. I learned that the franchise is based out of Quebec with 38 of them there and only 2 in Ontario. One in Belleville and one in Kingston. You can order the typical bacon and eggs but I wanted something different. I ordered the Eggstreme. Served in a casserole dish were home fries, peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon, ham, and sausage. Covered with hollandaise sauce and topped with an egg. You may think it's heavy but surprisingly fresh and delicious served with fresh fruit and toast on the side. So 5 stars from me for not being the typical greasy spoon read more

This was a really great breakfast place. First off they ask if I wanted coffee, I said yes. So they bring me basically an entire coffee pot for myself. So great start. I had the basic three egg and meat, which i chose as sausage. I got scrambled eggs, 2 sausages, potatoes, toast, and fruit. It was all really good. I really recommend this place. And the server was really fun which made the experience that much better. read more

Wow this place is busy on the weekends (for good reason!). The line was quite long when we got there at 9:30 Saturday morning, but we were seated in under five minutes. The staff does a good job of keeping things moving. The sharp and tasty cheddar in both the cheese omelette and the apple and cheddar crepe did wonders for my taste buds and I wouldn't hesitate to order either again. The thin potato slices included with both meals were also pretty good. Portion sizes here are also very generous, especially for breakfast. We managed to finish our meals, but just barely. Menu was a little confusing at first because it seemed like the 4 of the 2 egg dishes was all the same but with a different name. upon closer inspection the difference was what was included. So basically the more expensive one was the one that has bacon, AND sausage AND ham where as the cheaper one is bacon OR sausage OR ham I thought the potatoes were dry and a bit mushy. Most likely because they were sitting under a heat lamp for X amount of hours. Bacon was limp and a bit fatty. As if it was microwaved. At least the fruit appeared to be fresh I paid just under $15 for 2 egg breakfast plus juice. The eggs were $8, seems about right. But $5 for a glass of OJ..... Overall I think the quality of the food needs to be improved. Great place! I've heard lots of my old college classmates talk up this place and so we finally had a chance to go. Boy, are we glad we did! It's our new breakfast spot! I'm not a huge breakfast person myself, but my boyfriend and friends are. The four of us went and we all were very happy. Our waitress Laura (if you're reading this Laura, you rock!) was very attentive, polite, personable, fast, just an overall great waitress. I like that I could get just one egg, and a choice of meat. I literally got everything I wanted on my plate without having to substitute or take anything away. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, which also automatically comes with potatoes (BEST POTATOES EVER!), fruit, and toast. I asked for some sausages as an extra. It was super tasty, and super affordable! My boyfriend ordered the meat lovers omelette & that baby was more meat than it was egg! So he was a happy camper, haha. Overall, all our meals were delicious and we had amazing service. The manager/hostess really knows what she's doing and cares about her job. Which isn't very common, so good for her! I didn't catch her name to share. We will be returning for sure. I'm glad we made the trip. PS. Someone give Laura a raise, she deserves it for how hard she works. Love love love this place for breakfast. I love it so much I go every weekend. They are a very busy place on weekends but usually the wait is very short unless you have a larger party. I usually dine alone so I never wait more than 5-10 minutes. I have never had a bad meal here. I'm not a huge crepe fan but if you like them, this is the place to get them. So so insulted with bad service and worst experience ever. So I don't like writing negative reviews but this mornings experience at eggsquis left me so disgusted at its customer service and I've been a regular since the restaurant opened that I am seriously considering to never return again and will post this review everywhere! I have never had such bad service and such utter crap served as an apology when told that the service was utter crap and why. The fact that the manager even thought that it was satisfying to give such a blatant round of bull crap for an apology was utterly insulting to my family and my 69 year old parents that the waitress utterly offended with her rude comments. It was Saturday morning and I know as a regular the restaurant is not nearly as busy as it would be on a Sunday morning. I have attended this restaurant many times, when my parents have come into town to visit since I had introduced them to the restaurant. My parents as they are from out of town had no idea that today they would be made to feel to small and unimportant, just profit... my parents went ahead of us to gain a table, we were held up having to travel from the opposite end of town and pick up another party. They misjudged how long it would take. The waitress told them after repeatedly coming to the table and grilling them on where the rest of the party was...continued to insult them saying they should have waited off to the side or given up the table as we were late arriving! But the insults didn't stop there from Debbie the waitress, when ask what the specials were she said they were on the board but if it was too complicated to understand she would go into detail....? Ummm I asked what the specials were and yes I can see what is on the board but when you can't find what is on the board and a paying patron is asking you Debbie to expand on it. Don't insult their intelligence just expand on the bloody menu..Guess you didn't want your tips today as you continued to insult your paying patrons by removing their coffee cup after them simply saying that they were not having coffee right that second but they were having coffee? Ummmm rude! Just simply rude! And don't glare at the table after you were acting rudely to it as you don't know who the food critic is. So rude again. The food... eggs over done. I asked for over easy not over hard, and umm hello they were cold the bacon was cold and the potatoes were over salted and cold. And when a patron says a box don't bring foil and tell them that what they want is wrong it's insulting. And omg after getting told off , don't walk to the table and say you were just playing... ugh that was the biggest insult the restaurant could give, not only were we nothing but profit but we are complete idiots as we were to take the blatant rude behaviour and pretend you were just kidding... Worst service ever. Bought eggs benedict ask for very runny yolks surprise surprise didn't get them. This is not the first time I've been there but I thought I would give it another try. Again poor service, not very good eggs. My friend and I notice that there were only two other tables while we were in the restaurant that were occupied. We noticed the time of 12:20 you at the restaurant what's essentially empty. We commented to each other that was probably because they just don't care about their business anymore. When we left the restaurant we were accosted buy a portly lady that wasn't even our waitress and told that if we didn't like our breakfast we were welcome to go somewhere else. I suggested to her that her attitude and seemingly the attitude of the management what's exactly why the restaurant was empty at 12:20 in the afternoon. Glad to be responded that we could tell her business elsewhere. I told her that amazingly enough we were just discussing how we weren't coming back. I came here with my family and some family friends and it was not a good experience. Our waitress Anna kept giving us so much attitude at simple questions like when I asked if their English cream was clotted cream... When one of us asked her to warm the coffee because the it had been sitting there for over an hour, she gave a snappy response. My parents are not fluent English speakers and she was not accommodating when they had some trouble with the menu. To be honest, the food was also sub-par. The waffles/crepes were dry and the fruit was all really sour. Their juice of the day sucked as well. I've never been to a breakfast place that doesn't serve pancakes. Apparently this is a traditional French breakfast so they only have crepes and waffles. The basic breakfast with eggs and hash browns and whatnot was about 2 bucks more than a usual mom and pop shop and I enjoyed it. The juice is super pricey, over 3 bucks for a glass of OJ. They charge 2.25 to have real maple syrup on your waffle or crepe and weirdly charge an extra 0.25 if you want rye bread with your breakfast combo. I've never been to a breakfast place that does that. The waffles are also very expensive. 13 dollars for a waffle with some fruit on it. What I ate was tasty but I doubt I'll be back due to the pricing. To be fair, I'm a pretty cheap person. read more

Too many flies in the restaurant. No soap in the men's bathroom. I told one of the staff there was no soap in the men's bathroom but he didn't care. The food is good. I think the restaurant is understaffed and is overwhelmed. The place could use more parking and fly zappers. read more

We waited over an hour for our seat and once we sat down our order was taken and food was brought to us all within 20 minutes.
