    Tim's Benny - 5 stars
    Sabino L.

Wow woe wow! This place completely matched expectations with everyone in our table. Our friends wanted to try it for the longest time since it is a very tricky place to get a reservation, but in our last day in Kingston we decided to check it out and line up if we had to. That Sunday was not super busy to our surprise and we were able to get a table within minutes of getting there. Their menu is small, but tailored to perfection, with coffee selections that will make it hard for you to choose only one and an incredible well curated brunch options that feel classic, but offer a fun twist to make it a unique dish. Greg had The Avo Smash - This was such a fun take on the classic avocado toast with fun toppings and perfectly poached egg on top. I had the Tim's Benny - let me just say GET IT AND DONT SKIP ON IT!!! this was one of the only times that I was blown away by an iteration of classic eggs benedict... so flavourful, unique and cooked perfectly! Ambiance and service were both impeccable, we felt very welcomed and pleasant to be in their establishment. Both the host and the server did a great job of carrying our questions and providing good suggestions and service. We will definitely be back here for sure when we get a chance to come back to Kingston again.

Very chill hip brunch spot - I got their PULLED PORK BENNY (3/5, wish they added some more colour to this dish like a side of green salad, and their potato Rostis/hash wasn't as crisp or cooked well as I hoped). My friend got the AVOCADO SMASH and said the avocado was plentiful and overall tasted good.

Northside has some pretty top notch muffins. Always my go to when going to a cafe! Their espresso and coffee is pretty tasty too, yet I personally find them rather pricey. While I love the energy of dining in- their place is super warm and inviting, they have a patio, they regularly switch up the flower arrangements on the tables too, their dining area is spacious, those washrooms are amazing, going here is definitely a breakfast treat place, and not an everyday affair for me. When I first walked in I was greeted by this lovely barista that was friendly and welcoming. The second time however, while everyone is different, the person who greeted me was more professional and serious in their demeanour. Ehn. The latter form of greeting is less favourable to me, yet hey we all have our ways about us. I remember purchasing an eggs bene during the summer and I forgot how much I dislike the yellow soupy-ness of egg yolk. I also remember trying their breakfast sandwich, cannot recall what was all in it. It was delicious though! I haven't been back in a while, may visit again when I am in Kingston next.

So amazing staff, incredible looking quaint place, AMAZING coffee! I had the pulled ham poached egg on fried fries and my partner had the avocado toast. It was delicious. The ONLY thing is it took s really long time to get according to other places I've been to but it's probably due to a small kitchen.

This place was super nice with great staff and atmosphere. Went here on a whim for some hungover brunch. Drinks were fantastic and menu was a great size. The reason this place lost a star is because you could not alter any of the dishes or replace any ingredients. I got the eggs Benedict, but I am a vegetarian so I got it with no ham. They could not replace this with avocado, or cheese etc which I found slightly annoying but I got it anyways. The dish itself was good not great - it was beautiful but not very flavourful. I'm sure with the meat it would've been more impressive but I think that the potato portions could've used salt, pepper and other seasonings within it. TLDR; This place was very nice and a good place to bring family to, or to go out with an old friend. Good food and you could dress up a little bit. Not great vegetarian options.

The best cafe (of many) my partner and I went to in Kingston. Very cute with inside and outside seating and pleasant staff. Absolutely delicious food and nice coffee. A bit pricier but worth a splurge.

Delicious brunch spot. Service was good and food tasted good, but was a bit pricey considering the portion size. Restaurant was also clean and bright which I really liked.

This place is SOOOO CUTE. I love how bright it is in here too, tons of natural light. Probably the perfect place for a nice light brunch lesbe honest. Avocado toast: Chunks of avocado mixed with lemon juice and crumbled cheese. Then sprinkled with some chilis. Name a better combo... you can't. They also have some hot sauces for you to add on your toast, DO IT. It raises it all to a whole new level. Super yummy. Coconut chia pudding: There's just something about strawberries and mint that make them perfect for each other. And with coconut chia pudding?! Dessert for breakfast. I love how this wasn't too sweet either... the chia pudding consistency was perf (unlike the ones I make at home ahaha). Also, the presentation was so pretty and simple. Everything here is SO fresh, and you can tell the quality of their ingredients are toppppp notch. Coffee here is also BOMB. Order the Melbourne latte if you want icecream in your coffee LOL. YUM.

Fantastic as always, even on a busy Sunday. Service is great, food is fantastic, and fresh squeezed orange juice is always welcome. P.s. lemon cookies are fire.

Truly genuine people, great coffee/long espresso. Really accommodating service. Very small room so be prepared to wait. Clean and fresh looking. Food was well thought out, eggs Benedict was served on a baked pan rosti, 4/5 for that. Chili scramble had lots of complimentary flavours and the sourdough did not disappoint! Side bacon was pricey but well made and worth the price. Avo toast was pretty standard. Used a lot of local vendor/farms.

Amazing atmosphere! I felt like I was in a brunch spot in Williamsburg, NY. Very cute brunch spot, very bright and vibrant. The food was really good, I preferred the others' dish over my croque madame but it was still good. For those who are french like me and are "croque madame" connaisseur, put your thoughts aside as this croque madame come with a twist. It's not a typical one! Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did

The perfect place for brunch in Kingston! Northside is a warmly lit Australian inspired cafe with a variety of brunch dishes. The atmosphere is extremely cosy, yet modern, and decorated with hanging plants and fairy lights throughout the restaurant. In a typical millennial fashion, I ordered the Avo Smash, a Melbourne classic, and one of the more popular dishes. The smash features a ripe avacado mixed in with goat cheese on toasted sourdough bread. I also opted for a poached egg which was perfectly done. Details like the hints of mint and Thai chilis give the toast a nice kick in flavour. I also tried the Shrooms on Toast, which featured well seasoned (and not overdone) mushrooms with goat cheese and greens on sourdough toast. Overall, Northside was delicious and I'll definitely be back. I highly recommend.

The owners work tirelessly to bring quality atmosphere and food to it's patrons. They are so kind and friendly, and go out of their way to make sure your visit is enjoyable. Cafe le Matin has great coffee, breakfast and lunch menu items, but one of the best eggs benedicts I have had in Calgary. They have a few Korean dishes as well. The Bugolgi Long Burger is delicious and worth a try if you are feeling like trying something new and delicious. They also have Bipimbap. Their portions are very generous. You may have trouble finishing. As many businesses have struggled during COVID times, these folks have as well, but they are not giving up. I know this place exists because of their generosity to Camp Outlook. They have absolutely 100% scrumptious bread! And baked goodies. I love their dinner buns. They are made in this pull-a-part style and absolutely delicious to accompany soup, or toasted with butter, or, Pb&J, or cheese. Almost anything really, you can't go wrong. I was in Kingston recently and really wanted those dinner buns, unfortunately they didn't have them. Not on Sunday, not on Monday. I settled for their mini olive and rosemary dinner rolls. They were good too. Service here is pretty on point. There was a question I had asked the lady behind the counter and she came out from behind the counter to help answer any questions I had and serve me. She was really awesome! They have a catering menu, a cafe for brunch, they have fresh breads available and they do specialty cakes. They are totally the real deal. AND they sell Neal Brothers' cheese puffs. Havent been able to find these bad boys anywhere. They discontinued them in grocery retailers and health food stores don't seem to carry them. I'm in Toronto and havent been able to find them for a couple of years. They are a pretty penny, yet worth it for the sheer pleasure. Their store front is spacious and inviting. Certainly the place to be, everyone seemed to be walking in when I went. It is very well known. They can for sure accomodate a large amount of people. I would most definitely revisit when Im in the city next.

Ok, COVID doesn't help, as this is happening more frequently these days!!) Needing to recharge and regroup to figure out where we are going and make it to the hardware store, we were hungry and needed better sustenance than is usually provided in a coffee shop. After looking around a bit, we ended up on Kingston's Princess street, and chose to try this place out. First of all, it's deceiving from the outside: it looks way smaller than it really is, like a bakery outlet with a reasonable variety of baked goods on offer. However, there's a back portion where customers can eat in the store. Being that we're still getting used to the "new normal", we weren't ready to dine in, and wanted a seat outside. **Note: to get a seat on the patio, you actually have to go outside to find the hostess and request a table. It was a Sunday afternoon, and they were doing a booming business! But the wait was not long. We had a hard time choosing from the menu; there are a LOT of options! I was expecting a beautiful bakery selection but it was more sandwiches and other unusual, eclectic meals. We eventually chose a burger for hubby, and a shrimp sandwich for me, with a regular coffee for him and Café au lait for me. The Café was great, and even came with a wafer cookie. The wait was not long for our meals. OK, to be honest, I was not expecting to have my sinuses cleared out while I ate, but the food was so spicy to me, also with an after bite, that I was blowing my nose throughout the meal! Not a good look during COVID (sad face!) Worse, I picked up the great big sandwich to take a bite and a shrimp rolled off the top and fell to the ground! Very sad! These shrimps were lightly breaded and quite tasty! No wonder they gave me a fork and knife! Note to self: use cutlery! Here's the great part: one of the servers, went over and above, beyond the call of duty, and got me another shrimp!! It was so prettily laid out on a lettuce leaf, and quite hot - so fresh! Kudos for that!! I will have to bear this experience in mind for next time we visit Kingston, when we are looking for somewhere different to eat.
