I hardly ever order Chinese food, but I was home alone on a Saturday night and just wanted to watch movies and eat takeout. So eventually I called Peter Woo. Me: Hi, does your szechuan bean curd have any meat or seafood? Guy: Pshhhh, no. Me: Ok, great. I will have an order of szechuan bean curd and an order of scallion pancakes. The dude wasn't very pleasant for the remainder of this conversation, but I put the order in and waited. The guy arrived, it cost about $5 more than it should have, the guy left. I brought the bag into the kitchen. I opened up the bean curd container. I thought to myself, "Wow, that looks remarkably like a crapload of meat all over the top of this container. Maybe it's crumbled tofu. I'll pick it up in touch it." Nope, not squishy. Definitely meat. I called Peter Woo. Me: Hi, I just got an order delivered and there's meat all over my szechuan bean curd. Guy: Yeah, it comes with meat. Me: But I don't eat meat, and I specifically asked if it had any meat or seafood and I was told it didn't. Guy: Well you have to tell us if you don't want meat. Me: I did. Guy: (to kitchen) HEY! DID SHE SAY NO MEAT!!?? Kitchen: Yes. Guy: ARGGGG! We will send you another order. Thirty minutes later, I got the bean curd with no meat. I got no apology and no offer for a refund. I think from now on I'll stick with Golden House, which I would have ordered from in the first place had the lines both not been busy. read more

I've been a big Peter Woo's fan and wanted to support a local business. I have to say the service lately has been awful. First visit paid with debit card and the woman complained very loud that they get charged and it's ridiculous they take cards. Second time tried to call an order for over an hour and they just kept picking up and hanging up the phone. Decided to go in and place and order. The girl working was out having a cigarette once she came in was so rude as if we were inconveniencing her by trying to order. Needless to say will not be back anytime soon. read more

This is the best Chinese food in metro Boston. It has the best food, decent prices and incredible drinks. It is very small and quasi-shared seating, but it is an awesome atmosphere and as good as it gets for food. I strongly reccomend that you try it out and you will be instantly hooked. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The management/ owners were remarkably rude and unprofessional. My friends and I sat down and were ignored for 20 minutes before rudely being told we could not stay because it was after 12:30. It was 12:33 at the time. We got there way before 12:30 yet we were told we were lying about the time we came in. I'm unsure weather it's because they thought we were younger then most in the restaurant and thought we could be bossed around. We left in complete disgust of how we were treated and many of my family and friends go here but they WONT EVER AGAIN. I am so amazed by how rude people could be. Peter Woos has always been a restaurant that Ive wanted to visit. However, after going for a meal with my friend, I kind of figured that its not the place for me. When we sat down with my friend we were looking to just have something small and not over the top. That is because it was like around 6 and we didnt want to stuff ourselves, we figured in ordering soup to start off and continue there after if we were still hungry. When we were ready to order, the server who was not the nicest, said that we could not only order the soup because it will be too little and that we needed to order more food or else we were just grabbing up space. When he told me that I got very upset and I said, well what if im not that hungry, you just cant shove food up in my mouth. But he said that rules were rules. I decided to still keep my soup and also order some more appetisers hoping that the food would make up for the bad attitude. However, when he brought my friends chicken noodle and my hot and sour, we were both disgusted by the soup. It wasnt good at all, not much flavor. I have been eating at Peters for years. Amazing fresh food, that's what sticks out the most, from the first bite you can tell that your food wasn't standing under some heat lamp all day. I am so unbelievably upset! I placed my order (mind you it was a relatively small order) at 6:40. After waiting over an hour I called to check on my order and and was rudly told it had already went out and then was hung up on. After waiting another 15 minutes I had called back and was told it would be another 10 minutes for the delivery driver, it had already been a little over an hour and half. That's when I decided to cancel my order. I'm not waiting for a table at P.F. Chang's. If you are going to have medicore Chinese food can you at least have nice customer service to make up for it? If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy good food you may want to rethink visiting peter woos. While the food is amazingly fresh and the service is personable it has been loud, rude and vulgar and that is being nice. I would think twice about bringing my children. I have been driving up Route 1 to Kowloon's forever thinking all the Chinese food places in Revere were gross, old and sketchy. My cousine told me to try Peter Woo's. The reviews on yelp had me give it a chance. Awsome. The place is little, only a couple of tables. There is a small bar that I sat at and the bartender was great. It's clean. No fly paper hanging from the kitchen window like I expected. Modern and comfortable. Didn't really pay attention to how fast the food came but it wasn't as fast as Kowloon's. I had an awsome Mai Tai. All the booze was top shelf, didn't see and well bottles to even choose from. My buddy had a don julio margaretta on the rocks. Food. 5 star. Left full and happy to not have to deal with Friday afternoon traffic on Route 1. I'll be back the next time a craving hits for chinese. read more

I'm a regular customer of Shanghai Express so naturally when my fiancé wanted to try somewhere new, I am automatically going to compare the food to each other. First of all, the food was room temperature when it was delivered and Peter Woo's is much closer to our house than Shanghai. Shanghai is alway fast and piping hot when it arrives. Peter's crab rangoon was very stingy with the filling, more like a wonton with a dollop of cream cheese. The chicken wings were tiny and over cooked. The beef teriyaki was also small and tough to chew. The dumplings were good but the ginger sauce was very bland. The rice had a rich dark color and large chunks of pork but the texture was soggy and the flavor was bland. Overall, not impressed. I will stick to Shanghai Express from now on. read more

It's a place that me and my boyfriend to for the first time to try a new place. As we walked in there were only 2 people at the bar. Place was empty & I thought well I looked at the rating and it wasn't bad, why isn't anyone here on a weekend ? No one sat us . So we just sat our self. Didn't know if you seat your self or not. But we did. The lady brought us menus and water. She ran out back to get another employee he came over and said are you all set. No one offered us drinks. Peter Woo's has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Revere, maybe even in the Boston area. I had the Pu Pu Platter which came in a generous portion size and was one of the best I've ever had. I especially loved the spare ribs - really meaty and juicy. Also ordered the Chicken Lo Mein. The sauce the noodles were stir fried in had an undescribeable flavor, almost heavenly. Gene, Tony, Betty and of course Peter are the best! I was staying in Boston for a work related conference and decided to check this place out with my colleagues. I understand that it is busy on the weekends, but waiting nearly thirty minutes for our drinks to be brought over is simply bad service. There was a red-haired woman sitting behind the bar chatting with customers while the two Chinese staff were running back and forth to the tables and making all of the drinks. As far as the food was concerned, the pork fried rice was not fresh and had a burnt taste, and the appetizers were overcooked. The entrees were all bland and tasteless. I would NOT eat here again and I do NOT recommend this place to anyone visiting the Boston area. I've only been inside Peter Woo's once, and it was enough to confirm that it's not a place where I go to sit and eat. Tiny, dominated by a large bar; just not my idea of a place where I want to sit and eat. However, we get takeout from Peter Woo's on a regular basis, and have never been disappointed. The food always arrives within the time frame they state, and it's always hot and yummy. Our mainstays are General Gao's, Shrimp Rangoon, Hot and Sour Soup, Spicy String Beans,, Potstickers, etc. It may not be the very best of all time ever, but after a few disastrous attempts from other local Chinese eateries after we moved here two years ago, we have been content with Peter Woo's as our one of our regular go-to places for Friday nights with take-out and a movie at home. read more

My cousins, sisters, and myself went in to Peter Woo's for dinner after a long drive. We ordered 2 appetizer plates that each come with rice and your choice of 3 appetizers. For myself, one plate lasts 2 or 3 meals. For the 5 of us (aged 12-18) 2 plates would've been plenty. The waiter told us we needed to order "more food". I told him there was nothing else we wanted off the menu and he said he wouldn't be able to serve us because we didn't meet the minimum based off how many people in our party. I tried to explain that we were all kids and Asked if there was someone he could talk to. He went to the manager and she yelled for the restaurant to hear "they're going to pay for their plates and utensils, I'm not making that sh*t".
