This is a very pretty restaurant in an 18th century converted barn. The interior is full of beautiful details like the wooden beam ceiling and the rock walls and the welcoming fireplace. We dined on a Thursday night, which was very quiet, but we had the benefit of a really warm and talented musical duo who asked for requests. We ended up staying long after we paid the bill as we were enjoying the music so much. It would've been nice if somebody had offered to take our coats and hang them when we entered the restaurant but maybe they don't have a cloakroom. We thought the service was very on point, attentive without being overwhelming. The menu is not extensive but is comprehensive. We started with the chicken croquettes which we shared. They were delicious. We both ordered the New York strip steak, which was cooked to perfection for both of us. It came with the 1000 layer potato, which was really delicious and brussels sprouts. The sauce that it came in was a little rich for my taste. We finished with the apple strudel which again we shared and I had a decaf cappuccino that was ordered hot and came hot! Hubby had a regular coffee which he said was good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at this beautiful restaurant. We thought the food was very good, but maybe not great. My husband seemed to enjoy, it maybe a bit more than me. If you're looking for a romantic restaurant with great ambience, this would be a very good choice.

Step back in time to a charming ambience with great food! The strawberry Moscow Mules were delicious. We started with rabbit sausage and ropa vieja tostones. The sausage was quite good with a pickled mustard sauce. My venison tostones were fabulous in a rich pepper tomato sauce. Now the entrees...I got the chicken Tagine and my friend ordered the braised pork shank. The chicken was outstanding with apricots and Moroccan herbs. The pork was also excellent, presented perfectly on top of mushroom risotto. Yum! For dessert we ordered the cinnamon roll and the cheesecake. Both were delicious. Our server was excellent and we enjoyed it all!

Came here after going to an event in the area. From the outside it was quiet however once we went in through the cute little door it was so full on the inside! I loved the decorum and ambience of it. We were sat near the fireplace and our waiter was very attentive. The bread they offered was so warm and crisp, I could eat it daily. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We had such a good time eating, talking and being sat by the fireplace. We were the last to leave! I was so full I couldn't finish my dinner, but I left my take out box on the table when we left. Our waiter ran out to my car and made sure I got it I was so touched. I'll definitely come back here again when Im in the area.

Amazing evening was had here for my birthday! I'm so glad I asked my sisters to treat me to some place low key with great food and drinks! Peter Pratts delivered beyond our expectation! Drinks were amazing and service was top notch! Will be back many time especially for special occasions!

This was our first visit to Peter Pratt Inn. We had heard about it, but for some reason, never gave it a try, so glad we finally did! It was a very warm evening but we really wanted to enjoy their outside seating areas. They gave us one of the best seats out on the deck area, overlooking the grass. They also have a tent covered patio and a gazebo where guests can also eat. Really lovely. The indoor dining room also looks very inviting, looking forward to eating there at some point. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks. I enjoyed a white wine sangria, so delicious, and my husband ordered a Sam Adam's beer, cold and refreshing! Our waiter read off the specials and the shrimp ceviche app sounded perfect. It was delicious and the portion size was generous, could have used a few extra tortilla chips, which they quickly brought out, Our dinner entrees were off the regular menu, I order the Branzino and my husband ordered the lamb lollipops. The branzino was absolutely delicious, it had so much flavor. It was served over a crunchy potato bird's nest with what I think were zucchini strings. Really delicious and a generous portion, it included not one but two fish filets! My husbands lamb lollipops, were huge, def not the small lamb lollipops you get as an passed appetizer at a wedding, these were full on large baby lamb chops ! He raved about the sauce too. It came with roasted potatoes and squash, also served hot and delicious. The staff was wonderful, kept refilling our waters and checking on us. They brought out a basket of delicious warm bread as well. We ordered dessert, Tiramisu, which took quite a while to get. It was delicious but didn't match up size wise for the price. Only one thing that left us a bad taste....Once my husband was finished with his beer he ordered an ice tea, a nice large glass came out with plenty of ice, not a lot of tea. He finished it rather quickly and asked for a refill. This time the waiter brought out a smaller mason jar type glass of iced tea also filled with a lot of ice. When we got the bill they had charged for 2 glasses of iced tea. We haven't ever been charged for a second glass of iced tea. Seemed to us considering the high end nature of this place and the generous portions they show with their food, they could have just refilled his existing glass. After such a lovely evening it was unfortunate that it gave such a disappointing ending to what was a fabulous time. Oh well, we would definitely come back, just wouldn't ask for another Iced tea.

Peter Pratt's in is located off the main road in an old house. Full of great character. We were seated downstairs, they had outdoor as well. Lots of cool things around, huge fire place (must be nice and cozy in the winter), and old telephone, and a fire hydrant and part of their decor. The service was top notch. We started with drinks, appetizers, then to our entrees and closing with desserts. We had the duck quesadilla, arugula salad and mussels as appetizers. Then entrees were lamb chops, cowgirl rib eye, scallops with couscous, and the BBQ hanger steak. The blue berry cheese cake was amazing. The other dessert was ok.

We know we really upset one of the owners by our last review, but if you don't get good feedback,…read moreyou can never improve. I love your restaurant. The last time I ordered takeout I got a salad with micro greens and some of the micro greens were already rotting. Nobody likes that. The toasted bun was old. We can tell it's almost a curse to have multiple taste buds and be a super taster, which is what we technically are. All we can say to the owners is that your staff, and we've been through this before with even Michelin starred restaurants that when people stop coming to your restaurant, there's something terribly wrong. We're begging the owners to please do something! When we used to go there for lunch,, I had many a happy vegan burger. Yet this is no longer the case because your staff is completely demoralized. Your food sits in the walk-in and rots because you don't have enough business. Last time we were there for lunch, or maybe it was the time before that, the bar was filled to capacity and people were laughing and joking. We were the only people in the restaurant last time we went, and then the pick up order was the death blow. Please, Owner do something! Do happy hour. Make a seasonal menu. There's something really wrong going on here and I don't see anyone addressing it. We truly hope you take this in the right spirit because we don't want our local restaurants closing, especially ones that we really enjoyed. The casual atmosphere, of the politeness and professionalism of the servers is great. One suggested we have is that your restaurant is pretty hard to find even though it's on the main street in Croton On Hudson. There are no outside signs and we walked past it so many times it's not funny. If you can't think of anything to improve your business, then if we were you, and we're not you, we would just close and cut our losses. Owners please use your imagination or ask other successful restaurants what they are doing because we know you have at least two others. Please do something to save your restaurant. We don't eat at McDonald's we never have. We've never had a fast food hamburger in our lives! It's the disgusting smell that got us and this was before I was vegan or vegetarian same goes for my husband. It would hurt us personally, even though it's not our restaurant to see you close . Maybe you overextended yourselves we have no idea, but one of the owners or investors must do something if you want to save this restaurant! DO SOMETHING! Please getting angry at us for telling our honest picky opinion is not going to pick up your sales. You should also invite feedback because then you know which mistakes you're making with the public instead of having a fit because somebody wrote a negative review of your Restaurant. If you would take the time to look at our reviews, you would see at the beginning we gave you five stars and now we just can't in all honesty and we're not gonna lie about it. Wishing you the best of luck and we know you don't like being told what to do, but you must do something unless you just are going to close this restaurant. You're paying people, except the weight staff of course, decent money we assume. Please don't waste all this effort that you already put in unless you think it's a better idea just to close. We're very sorry we had to write this review.

This time was a more casual lunch with friends, and the menu is basically bulletproof for any dietary need. You can go clean and delicious, or you can go indulgent and joyful. Either way, you win. It's a nice space with the right kind of lighting, but the bar music was a bit too loud for easy conversation. The main courses left a lot to be desired. I don't think any of us (a party of +6) had a really good main course. The Thai vegetable curry was embarrasingly terrible. Stodgy, overwhelming garlic, slop on a plate. Chickpeas and unidentifiable bits of veg with tomato sauce and gloopy rice. So bad, and no thai flavor at all. At least make a decent thai red curry sauce. Or use coconut milk and lemongrass or something that isn't just garlic mush. The fish dish was literally just a piece of fish with a bit of sauce and a curlicue of something. Nothing to go with it. The chorizo shrimp burger tasted okay and had a lot of food on the plate, but my husband said it fell apart as he ate it. I think the Whitlock needs to do better than this. It's not a budget restaurant. I expect better food than what I can make at home.

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.
