My mom and I came for the Mother's day brunch. This was our first time here. The service was outstanding and everything ran like a well oiled machine. The food was great and was constantly being replenished. Our drinks were also delicious. Sitting outside on the patio was great and beautiful. This is a very pretty restaurant in an 18th century converted barn. The interior is full of beautiful details like the wooden beam ceiling and the rock walls and the welcoming fireplace. We dined on a Thursday night, which was very quiet, but we had the benefit of a really warm and talented musical duo who asked for requests. We ended up staying long after we paid the bill as we were enjoying the music so much. It would've been nice if somebody had offered to take our coats and hang them when we entered the restaurant but maybe they don't have a cloakroom. We thought the service was very on point, attentive without being overwhelming. The menu is not extensive but is comprehensive. We started with the chicken croquettes which we shared. They were delicious. We both ordered the New York strip steak, which was cooked to perfection for both of us. It came with the 1000 layer potato, which was really delicious and brussels sprouts. The sauce that it came in was a little rich for my taste. We finished with the apple strudel which again we shared and I had a decaf cappuccino that was ordered hot and came hot! Hubby had a regular coffee which he said was good. Overall we enjoyed our experience at this beautiful restaurant. We thought the food was very good, but maybe not great. This cozy spot is like a more expensive/upscale Muscoot Tavern. It's so charming, all wood and stone inside and a big fireplace toward the back, but everything's about $10-$15 more expensive than Muscoot and the flavor isn't any better. Delicious pork belly appetizer, sticky fig dessert, and Sage cocktail drink, but the entrees, the pistachio lamb chop and chicken tagine, were just so-so and so so expensive. Likely woudn't rush back but glad to have finally tried it. read more

What a disappointment. The service was fine because the place was empty, but the food was terrible. Oysters were past their prime and tasted like they should have been thrown out last week. Step back in time to a charming ambience with great food! The strawberry Moscow Mules were delicious. We started with rabbit sausage and ropa vieja tostones. The sausage was quite good with a pickled mustard sauce. My venison tostones were fabulous in a rich pepper tomato sauce. Now the entrees...I got the chicken Tagine and my friend ordered the braised pork shank. The chicken was outstanding with apricots and Moroccan herbs. The pork was also excellent, presented perfectly on top of mushroom risotto. Yum! For dessert we ordered the cinnamon roll and the cheesecake. Both were delicious. Came here after going to an event in the area. From the outside it was quiet however once we went in through the cute little door it was so full on the inside! I loved the decorum and ambience of it. We were sat near the fireplace and our waiter was very attentive. The bread they offered was so warm and crisp, I could eat it daily. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We had such a good time eating, talking and being sat by the fireplace. We were the last to leave! I was so full I couldn't finish my dinner, but I left my take out box on the table when we left. Our waiter ran out to my car and made sure I got it I was so touched. I'll definitely come back here again when Im in the area. read more

Since Jon Pratt sold the place it's gone through some transitions. Enver has this gem back up to Jon's standards and is one of the best restaurants in Northern Westchester again. The menu changes all the time and is creative snd innovative. The food is always spot on delicious. Great place for a romantic dinner or apps at the bar. I found myself at Peter Pratt's Inn for an educational dinner; I usually attend these in Manhattan but since I was working in Westchester this particular day I thought it would be a great opportunity to do some networking in the area and learn a few new things. I've actually had my eye on this place for a while, so I was looking forward to finally checking it out. PPI (the restaurant, not proton pump inhibitor) first landed on my radar years ago when its then-executive chef Nick DiBona competed on Chopped. DiBona has since left the restaurant to open his own tapas spot in Larchmont, and is now the owner of Bona Bona Ice Cream in Port Chester. I was a little taken aback as I approached the restaurant since I was in the middle of a residential area of Yorktown, but lo and behold it eventually showed itself - the other reviews are not kidding when they say this place is off the beaten path. The main dining area is located on the lower level of the Inn, however since I was here for a private event we were seated on the first level in what looked like an event space. There wasn't really a lot of charm to this space, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since it has good bones and looks like it can be done up really nice for a party. As with most educational dinners I attend, we had a prix fixe menu with a few choices for appetizer, entrée, and dessert. For starters decided to go light with the bibb lettuce salad. This was done up nicely with just the right amount of dressing and caramelized onion which added a bit of uniqueness. They also decided to add some flair to the presentation and wrapped the salad in long strands of cucumber. For my main I had the stuffed chicken breast; this was presented airline style - stuffed with an artichoke mixture and paired with rice and a tasty brown sauce. This was tasty - I appreciated that the chicken wasn't dry, and the stuffing was prominent with artichoke (a lot of times the stuffing in dishes like these is just a mixture of a lot of unrecognizable ingredients. I decided to get the cheesecake for dessert - I initially wasn't going for this, but after they said it was blueberry I was like yes please (I love blueberries). This was better than I expected - the blueberries were baked into the cake (as opposed to having preserves sit on the top), and it had big flavor - I really enjoyed this. Service was great, the team taking care of us was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, while my experiences at educational dinners can run hot and cold, I enjoyed my time at Peter Pratt's Inn. This definitely motivates me to try them out for a proper dinner in the future. read more

Service was four stars. We got there *very* early and it was such a beautiful night we asked to sit outdoors for cocktails. Our server couldn't have been more attentive or accommodating. Even when we decided to stay there for dinner and he had to set it all up. Drinks were - ok. My lemoncello martini didn't seem to have any lemoncello in it. Food was a solid 3. It's too bad because it's such a lovely venue. My arugula salad was good, my friends cucumber salad was nicely presented but wilted. I had the lobster linguini. Pasta was not cooked well-rubbery and tasted old. Lobster was good and the sauce was good. My friend had the other pasta dish which she said was ok. Dessert - not. good. And you have to have a pretty awful dessert for me to say that. Tasted refrigerated--no flavor. I guess they make their $$ on events now? This was our first visit to Peter Pratt Inn. We had heard about it, but for some reason, never gave it a try, so glad we finally did! It was a very warm evening but we really wanted to enjoy their outside seating areas. They gave us one of the best seats out on the deck area, overlooking the grass. They also have a tent covered patio and a gazebo where guests can also eat. Really lovely. The indoor dining room also looks very inviting, looking forward to eating there at some point. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks. I enjoyed a white wine sangria, so delicious, and my husband ordered a Sam Adam's beer, cold and refreshing! Our waiter read off the specials and the shrimp ceviche app sounded perfect. It was delicious and the portion size was generous, could have used a few extra tortilla chips, which they quickly brought out, Our dinner entrees were off the regular menu, I order the Branzino and my husband ordered the lamb lollipops. The branzino was absolutely delicious, it had so much flavor. It was served over a crunchy potato bird's nest with what I think were zucchini strings. Really delicious and a generous portion, it included not one but two fish filets! My husbands lamb lollipops, were huge, def not the small lamb lollipops you get as an passed appetizer at a wedding, these were full on large baby lamb chops ! He raved about the sauce too. It came with roasted potatoes and squash, also served hot and delicious. The staff was wonderful, kept refilling our waters and checking on us. They brought out a basket of delicious warm bread as well. We ordered dessert, Tiramisu, which took quite a while to get. It was delicious but didn't match up size wise for the price. Only one thing that left us a bad taste....Once my husband was finished with his beer he ordered an ice tea, a nice large glass came out with plenty of ice, not a lot of tea. He finished it rather quickly and asked for a refill. This time the waiter brought out a smaller mason jar type glass of iced tea also filled with a lot of ice. When we got the bill they had charged for 2 glasses of iced tea. We haven't ever been charged for a second glass of iced tea. Seemed to us considering the high end nature of this place and the generous portions they show with their food, they could have just refilled his existing glass. After such a lovely evening it was unfortunate that it gave such a disappointing ending to what was a fabulous time. Peter Pratt's in is located off the main road in an old house. Full of great character. We were seated downstairs, they had outdoor as well. Lots of cool things around, huge fire place (must be nice and cozy in the winter), and old telephone, and a fire hydrant and part of their decor. The service was top notch. We started with drinks, appetizers, then to our entrees and closing with desserts. We had the duck quesadilla, arugula salad and mussels as appetizers. Then entrees were lamb chops, cowgirl rib eye, scallops with couscous, and the BBQ hanger steak. The blue berry cheese cake was amazing. The other dessert was ok. read more

Peter Pratt's Inn is a gem and it seems to be a hidden one. Both visits were early evening weeknights but it still surprised me how many open tables were available. Delicious seasonal cuisine with creative vegetarian and meat choices, excellent service, an amazing setting, and great cocktails and wine. Last night we also enjoyed the Four26 duo - incredibly talented and fun musicians. They have outdoor seating and happy hour at a lovely bar. Only minor nitpick is I need to remember to get the bottled water, tap is well with a strong taste. I think it is well worth it to go a little out of the way to check this place out, it will not disappoint! read more

I love the outdoor seating at Peter Pratt's. Tables are elegantly set up. We were seated in the porch and I cannot complain. Nice place to bring someone if you want to celebrate a special occasion. Price was fair and dishes were presented beautifully. We ordered the spring rolls and shishito peppers for appetizers, tuna and scallops for dinner. They are all delicious. My only comment is the curry sauce that comes with the tuna is on the sweet side for my taste and the scallops entree do not have enough dressing to complement the dryness of the entree. Overall am very satisfied. Service was pleasant, no long waiting for our dishes, coffee is excellent. The bartender made me a mocktail that is so delicious. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will get it again for next time as I didn't get the ingredients. read more

Our quite pleasant meal celebrating my husband's birthday as guests of our dear friends ended in disappointment when the check arrived. Having been careful to choose a modestly-priced wine as our friends were treating, the bill arrived showing the two bottles of wine we had ordered mislabeled as a Cakebread priced at $180 instead of the s60 label we had chosen. When I brought this to the attention of our server, he noted that there was a mistake and *increased* the charge to $235/bottle saying that we had ordered the most expensive bottle on the menu. It turned out that is what he had served us, somehow misunderstanding which wine we had requested from the same winemaker. While admittedly they bore the same name (Caymus), we had pointed to the one we wanted on the printed menu. When our host then engaged with the owner on the matter, asking for an accommodation, the owner became frustrated and unyielding. Despite the food and service having been fine up to that point, none of the four of us will return to Peter Pratt's Inn. read more

Being that there has been an executive chef change here, I thought it would be good to update my review. I am happy to report the food is at the same high quality level under new chef E. Bryce Baird, and he has added some of his own touches to both "old" and new menu items. Last night, the lobster and crawfish cakes (appetizer) were simply delicious - light and not oily, and accompanied with fresh micro greens and a tasty aioli. My entree, a seared tuna with a soy glaze atop a citrus rice was delicious. I posted a photo of the latest dessert menu, but avoided the temptation for the most part, sticking with the tangerine sorbet (and a little scoop of vanilla ice cream). The breadth of the mneu has expanded a bit, so there is sure to be something to your liking. Bon appetite! read more

We've been to Peter Pratt before the pandemic and it was a great experience. Went last night 1/21/24 and was disappointed. We had 7:00pm reservations and were seated promptly. The waitress greeted us and didn't take our drink order until 20 minutes later. It then took 25 minutes to deliver 4 drinks. It's now 7:45 and we haven't even ordered yet. Drinks came finally and ordered appetizers but they had run out of the 2 we wanted so we picked something else. Made sure to give our dinner orders while we had her attention. We weren't served dinner until 8:15 (from a 7:00 reservation). The waitress passed us many times not even asking if we wanted more drinks or anything else. The food was good but the service was really lousy. A few of the desserts were not available. We finally finished at 9:30pm and of course, received the $440 check which we paid with no complaints. Nice place, good food but we won't be back anytime soon. read more

We went for restaurant week. Service was great, very friendly staff. Food was mediocre. We got the duck quesadilla and the arugula salad for our appitizer. The quesadilla was bland. The salad was solid. We both got the grilled Sirloin with mash potatoes. The potatoes were not restaurant quality, grainy. Overall a cute place, great staff, but food needs improvement. Recently reopened Peter Pratt's Inn provided a fine outside dining experience on this comfortable Friday evening. Spacious seating with polite / professional service we were welcomed with no rush whatsoever. Two and and half hours later the three of us left with smiles on our faces. The paper dinner menu provided plenty of interesting options. For starters we shared two selections. The Vietnamese Pork Shrimp Spring Rolls with a Sweet Chile Sauce along with the Peking Duck Quesadillas both worked fine. For main course we all selected the Grilled Salmon with pilaf rice and scallions. Fresh and tasteful - a fine choice. For dessert - Ice Cream and Key Lime pie (satisfactory) were ordered however the true highlight was the warm "Sticky Date Cake" with cream. A must order... Clean spotless downstairs bathroom - other guests appeared as comfortable as we were this evening. Menu prices beyond reasonable. It all worked...Welcome Back! read more

Food superb - duck the best around according to my husband, seared scallops and risotto done perfectly, lobster linguini, mussels and steaks done just right with a nice Hess cabernet sauvignon. Duck quesidillas - my favorite appetizer. Ended the evening with the delicious homemade coffee ice cream. Service is excellent and personable. Went there with 15 people last night and it was excellent. The service was great, they were following and had enforced COVID19 laws. Everyone who worked there had masks, and 6 feet apart were the tables and staff. We all felt quite comfortable. The food was delicious from appetizers to deserts all homemade and very tasty. Peter Pratt's Inn is such a beautiful venue and HAD such a great reputation was really looking forward to dinner there. Reviewed their summer menu online and it was very inviting. Made reservations and upon arriving last night (Wednesday) learned that all they had to offer was an EXTREMELY overpriced "buffet" featuring hot dogs, baked beans and the most unappealing burgers I've ever seen. And all that crossed my mind was WHY??? This is such a disservice to the reputation of an established Landmark!! If you can't serve a decent meal... don't serve one at all!!! The only redeeming quality, besides the venue, was my company. And if that's the case, at least be honest on your website. Like many people, we drove a distance in anticipation of a special dinner only to be disappointed by a meal that would have been better served by school cafeteria. read more

I just went to this restaurant with on Thanksgiving. I'm a whole-foods vegan, and for me, the food couldn't have been much worse. I had a coconut soup, basically thickened coconut milk with puréed broccoli, quite mediocre. There were no vegan whole-food entrées whatsoever, and I had to settle for their risotto, boiled, refined white rice (quite unhealthful, and something I normally avoid) with carrots and squash that was way too salty. As 1 of the other reviewers commented, the chefs don't know how to use seasonings (or are too cheap to buy them), and used salt to cover that up. The desserts were all full of white flour and sugar, also quite unhealthful, so I didn't order any. There are plenty of ways to make desserts (and main-course dishes) without junk-food ingredients, but this restaurant offers nothing for health-conscious diners. The service was also very poor. I'm a senior citizen with slight knee problems, so I keep my legs straight under the table to feel comfortable. The woman who cleared the empty dishes couldn't see this, and stepped on my ankles under the table, but then, when she should have known how I was sitting, mindlessly did the same thing 2 more times. God forbid someone with a real disability tries to eat here. It also took half an hour to pay the (expensive) bill, when all I wanted to do was go home and have something good to eat. If you like tasty food that's also good for you, avoid this establishment at all costs. read more

Cute little restaurant, lots of character in the space as other reviewers have mentioned. The menu is eclectic, but is lacking in meat-free options. The cocktail menu was one-note. Nothing exciting. I had the sangria, which I drank quite quickly, but had some sort of allergic reaction to something in it -- my lips were burning and tight for the rest of the meal. I then ordered a tequila on the rocks with lots of lime, and they didn't actually have fresh limes, so they gave me lime juice, which was not very good. The server was nice, but they were slammed so he was a little absent. I had the veggie spring rolls for an appetizer. They were good, but kind of spicy. I will say that for the appetizers and main dishes, the presentation was impeccable. The real star of the show was the salmon dish. It's the reason I agreed to dine here with my husband for our rare date night. It was crusted with za'atar and served on a bed of braised lentils with toum and roasted brussels sprouts. SO GOOD. It was a delight to be able to eat outside on their porch surrounded by flowering bushes, And we had a lovely evening. The food was mixed. The fried calamari was crisply battered and the squid was delicious however the accompanying sauce was sweet and syrupy. The salad was limp. The driver shrimp dish was excellent. The duck was tough. The sauce was not described in the menu and I think (?) it was a sweet barbecue sauce. I was expecting a classic wine reduction. Also the promised asparagus were replaced by limp snap peas and Im not really sure what the starch was. My main issue was the service. The woman who opened our celebratory Veuve Cliquot chatted with the next door table while opening it, plunked it unceremoniously on the table. Our nice server got a wine bucket. After the appetizer no one thought to refresh our glasses, and when they did, they filled the glass to the rim. I know this is a small point, but half the fun of champagne is the elegance surrounding its presentation.
