Very unimpressed. I took my dog here yesterday to get groomed and this is the result. Honestly, feel like I could've done this myself, not only did it take FIVE HOURS. But he literally came out just completely shaved bald. His hair isn't even cut evenly. I came in after 4 & 1/2 hours wondering why they weren't done and you could tell they rushed to finish him. Sad to say this was done by the manager, and I was still charged full price after it taking five hours and causing me to be 30 minutes late to work. Won't be back.

Dead fish in every tank

There's so many dead fish in the tanks and all of them r so dirty they clearly do not clean as often as they should

I ventured into Petco yesterday with my dog Buddy, to get him some of his "special food" and we met Bre, who was at the front register. We were greeted with a friendly demeanor and also had some our questions answered. Buddy was offered a treat, which he loved. Such an enjoyable experience indeed. Thank you.

Check out the bearded dragons! They're a lot of fun.

We just came to look at the animals. (11/27/19) My girlfriend and I don't have pets; we'd like to, but with our current apartment and busy schedules, it's just not feasible. Petco, and other such places, afford us the delightful opportunity to visit with the birds, fish, reptiles, and rodents -- a glimpse into the future (specifically with the birds, I should point out). Judging by some of the reviews here, we seemed to have an advantage over the customers; as browsers, we arrived with no expectations, and we left happy. This was the extent of our visit: we observed the adorable parakeets who were all asleep; we entertained the bearded dragons who likewise entertained us by climbing atop each other and clawing the glass; we observed a guinea pig make a scene in his camp -- culminating to his seeking out a suitable corner to take a guinea dump. Then we went down the aisle of aquariums to look at all the lovely fish. That was it! Could the variety have been better? Sure. But we still had a great time. If we do have pets in the future, we'll probably cruise down the aisles and actually take interest in the merchandise. Until then, we'll just drop in from time to time and say hi to the birdies.

RIP little floater.

This your run of the mill Petco. The store was clean and mostly neat. The staff was polite. If you have a dog or cat (or other land dwelling creature) this is a fine store (don't know about the groomers though)! However their fish tanks could look better. Whenever I see a dead fish in an aquarium I wonder if the other fish sharing the tank are sick. Particularly if the fish is floating or looks like they've been dead for a while...as they did here. I didn't go and check every tank but I suspect the three I noticed - all close to each other - were not the exception. The fact they hadn't been removed meant to me that nobody was adequately monitoring their tanks. I know this can be done because I recently went to a different Petco that was stellar in this respect.

Horrible experience at the VetCo vaccine clinic inside the Petco Phoenix on 4535 E Thomas Rd. Had an appointment today at 12:54, prior to the appt I received multiple text messages indicating to come early and text "3" upon arrival and wait in the car for a call. After waiting 15 minutes I proceeded inside and was immediately told that I was late and missed my appt and the Doc had already left for lunch. I showed the vet tech my text messages indicating that I was not late and did as instructed. She continued to blame me for being late and there was nothing she could do. Pitiful. VetCo and Petco will never have my business. Do better!

Once we found All-American K-9 and Erika, we knew we had hit the jackpot. We handed our sweet (but crazy) Labrador over to her for a 3-week Board & Train, with a little trepidation. After 3 weeks, we were amazed to get back the most well-behaved, calm dog. Not only did Erika train Finn, but she also taught us how to keep up the training. The responsiveness is unparalleled. I always get well-thought-out and specific answers to my questions within a few hours. I also love that this isn't just a one-and-done training. We have lifetime access in case we have questions, which is a relief, since we have someone who knows Finn and can help in the future. The Board & Train might not be affordable for everyone, but it was absolutely worth every penny. I wish we had found Erika months ago.

Bob is straightforward, matter of fact, and easy to learn from. Can't recommend it enough!

My 81 year old mom moved to an urban setting with a small yard and a neighborhood with lots of…read moresmall, yappy dogs that sets off reactivity in her German Shepherd. Although the dog has been through several training programs, she had recently reverted back to being reactive on leash: barking, pulling, and lunging at any dog that barked at her or gave her a "look". Thankfully I found Rob's Dogs through a search online. Rob offers dog training either through individual sessions sold as a packet of 8 or 3, or you can elect to do a board and train method. Since my mom's dog had done two board and trains with other training facilities in Florida and Texas, I opted for the individual sessions sold as a packet of 3. Not to disparage the other training schools, I want to note that the dog had learned a great deal of commands, but she was a little rusty and selective when doing them and was selectively reactive on leash around other dogs. What we needed was a trainer that could come to my mom's neighborhood and see the dog being reactive in the environment where she was going to be walked. Thankfully Rob's Dogs offered this as an option. It cost a significant amount to do this, but it was possible. The additional cost was for the mileage and drive time to my mom's place. We had a meet and greet at the facility. Rob, the owner, met with us and got the back story on the dog and the current behavior problems. He took the dog and walked her around a bit and near other dogs, tested her response to commands and leash pressure. He explained the package options available to us. He also made us aware that we would be using both a prong collar and e-collar to reinstate her former training. We had these tools, but my mom hadn't used them with the dog since she left Florida, and I had never used them. We were assigned a trainer who was contracted by Rob. Lauryn was super friendly and had a love and full understanding of the German Shepherd breed. She herself had a German Shepherd. She went over the operation of the two collars which I was not familiar with at all. Rob's dogs sent us a link and password so that we could watch some important training videos. His website also had some very useful training tips. I highly recommend watching/reading this information carefully and then reviewing it again each week. It's easy for owners to slip into bad habits quickly which results in their dogs behaving in ways they don't want. You will have to enforce rules and get into a routine. Restrictions can be lifted once the dog consistently behaves as desired. You will find that YOU will have to do the hard work. The trainer and Rob's Dogs will assess your current situation and give you the tools and training to use those tools to reinforce good behaviors. It won't happen overnight. You will need to work with the dog for at least an hour each day to reinforce the seven commands and expectations. As I mentioned, we only had three sessions. This training was going to determine whether or not my mom could keep and handle her dog. Immediately after the first session, we started using the tools and putting restrictions in place inside the house to set the law of the land. Right away, we noticed a difference. While the dog was already really well behaved in the house, it improved her response to us when we walked her outside of the house. The prong collar made a drastic difference in her behavior when she saw other yappy dogs on the walk. I no longer had to worry about her lunging, pulling or barking incessantly in an aggressive stance. She still got up, moved forward, and barked once, but it was all very controlled. I didn't have to use all of my strength to hold her back. The real test came when my mom was able to walk her dog around other yappy dogs. After session two, my mom was easily able to do this, and I felt confident that continuing this training would allow my mom to keep her dog. Her German Shepherd is sometimes still reactive, but it is much more controlled and manageable now. In time, and with continued consistent practice, I believe my mom's dog will eventually stop the reactivity altogether. She has already shown amazing progress and only slips occasionally. If you are looking for effective dog training (well, really we know it is human training to learn how to effectively communicate with the dog), then consider Rob's Dogs. You will work hard to get your dog's behavior issues resolved, but the longterm results will allow you to have a wonderful relationship with your pet.

We were impressed with how clean the place smelled. Most places involving dogs, there is always a faint or not-so-faint smell of dog, but with zoom room, you never could tell dogs were in there when it came to smell. Also a bonus is their amazing selection of dog treats and toys! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We met Colin, the owner and trainer, for orientation and he was awesome at explaining everything from training to their philosophy to what is expected of dog owners and what we need to do to see results with our puppy. With our schedule, we have been mostly in training classes with Ray (sorry, if I misspelled that!) and she is amazing! Gatsby loves her and so do we! We and Gatsby are always learning something new with each class that we never would've picked up from online or trying to train by ourselves. The trainers are very passionate about dog training and it definitely shows in classes. The best and most important part about Zoom Room, that we love the most, is their philosophy on only using positive training techniques and avoiding negative ones at all cost. We highly recommend this place if you're looking for a clean, safe facility with friendly and kind staff, and passionate trainers for your pup!
