I would say buyer beware on Vitalcare. The store person said you can cancel month to month and that is not the case. It is mandatory one year commitment which I was not aware of. When you call their customer service line which has a dedicated line, it disconnects from you from later hours. I was able to get thru and cancel the membership. Vitalcare is not a month to month membership where you can cancel anytime like most membership setups contrary to what a Petco employee says that you can cancel anytime with little effort.

DO NOT bring your anxious puppy to Grapevine grooming. I'd taken my Benny to the Highland Village location because I trust their staff in handling my dog, but seeing as they were booked out all month I scheduled an appointment two weeks prior for this location. The stylists were nice enough but the bathing, grooming, blow drying, tables, and kennels are cramped into a tiny 4x4 room. Unfortunately, I'd been caring for his beautiful coat for many weeks and anxious to get my boy his beautiful groom. Thankfully, I was not charged for the haircut my sheepadoodle received. He was returned to me soaking wet and unbrushed now I will have to make work adjustments to find him a quick enough grooming at another Petco where there is actually space for these employees to do their job thoroughly and efficiently. This is a stressful environment for these pets and the store needs to make improvements in this department. I'm extremely disappointed in myself for putting him in this position and can only hope he will be trusting and comfortable with other grooming salons in the future.

I recently took my schnauzer here to be groomed, I have taken him to the Petco in Colleyville and I love their grooming as well as Kountry Klippers, who doesn't do the best schnauzer cut, but I needed a groom last minute and they had a spot open at the grapevine location. Schnauzer cuts can be a hit or miss in this area so I crossed my fingers they would give him a cute cut and J'lin M gave my little boy a wonderful schnauzer cut and he smelled so great and they were very kind staff who dealt with the animals the way animal lovers do, I highly recommend this salon for grooming your dog.

We purchased our pet chameleon bam bam from this location he passed away today after giving him the greatest habitat to live in, took off work for the rest of the day to take him to get examined by a vet and the autopsy said the cause of death was mbd (Metabolic Bone Disease) , I highly don't recommend getting a reptile from petco , if you do please go get it checked by a vet ASAP. I have been here twice. Once to pick up a new foster pup and once to take another foster to adoption day. The entrance is a large open space that is perfect for adoption events. The two times I have been there were three different rescues there with dogs available for adoption. I adopted one of my foster dogs at an adoption event at the Colleyville location and was given a New Parent coupon booklet that comes with all pets adopted from a rescue on their premises. Much larger than their Bedford location but not as nice or clean as their Colleyville location. It is what it is. I am not a fan of chain pet stores. I prefer to shop family owned like Bark Avenue which is very close.

The store is fine as far as products etc. but the employees are truly lacking. You are lucky if you get help, don't expect much here.

This location seemed to have a larger selection of bird toys and other items than most of the petcos I've been to in the area.

Dear Desiree and Kendra,…read more We wanted to "Thank You" so much for handling our "Neena" in such a professional manner regarding her interview process. We spoke with several of your customers when we came to pick up Neena, and they absolutely spoke about your outfit in a very positive manner. We feel very thankful to have found a place that Neena will feel good about when we are at work. Both of you also exhibit wonderful attitudes which we are sure transcends to the pups! Our dog, Sally, was under the care of Camp Bow Wow - Grapevine from 12/6-12/13 while our family was…read moreout of town. When we picked her up, she was extremely lethargic and clearly not acting like herself. Within hours, we rushed her to urgent care and were told she had internal bleeding. She was immediately transferred to an emergency animal hospital, where she underwent an emergency splenectomy because cancer was suspected. Thankfully, pathology showed no cancer. We were then told by veterinary professionals that one possible cause of this type of injury is blunt force trauma. I went to this location in person and spoke with the manager to explain what happened and to seek answers--not to accuse anyone, but to understand how our dog could suffer a life-threatening internal injury while in their care. Instead of concern or empathy, I later received a phone call questioning the credibility of what I had said and asking for the name of the hospital and number in order to verify herself. There were no apologies, no expression of concern for Sally's condition, and no willingness to meaningfully engage with us. The focus was entirely on defending themselves and emphasizing how "big of an accusation" this was--despite the fact that we were simply looking for answers, not placing blame. Our dog almost died while under their care, and the lack of compassion, accountability, and basic concern afterward was deeply disturbing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering leaving their pet here. Stay far away.

I was told narcotics scent training was available but at drop off it was changed to birch wood. Then I have a dog with special needs as he will not eat away from home. I had to BEG for photos and updates knowing my dog wasn't eating for a week. Then they pass the SAME PHOTO and even sent me a screen shot of the edited time stamp to prove that they it wasn't edited. Guess they didn't look hard enough because the date the photo was really taken was on their screen shot. Attached are pics of the two weight pictures (drop off and pick up), a screen shot of the text message exchange and a close up showing the actual time stamp. The biggest thing is that I had a dog with special needs that was away from home not eating and I wasn't getting communication.

My fiancé and I adopted a dog in September named Angus from Paws in the City. We live in an…read moreapartment complex with a dog park and we would take Angus to the dog park to socialize and take care of business. Our poor pupper was attacked twice by the same two dogs and it completely changed his behavior. He just lost trust in other dogs and became aggressive when he would come across another dog. We didn't know how to reverse this behavior and that's when we started researching on dog training. My fiancé found Off Leash, watched all of the videos on their training and we decided to go for their 8 week program. We started with the trainer Brandon and he was wonderful. He really took the time to let Angus get comfortable with him and showed us several commands that had us in awe. Brandon was no longer going to be available on Saturday's so we were going to be switching with Sarah. Brandon observed her for a few session and then she was solo. It was the same service all across the board. The last 2 or 3 sessions, we went to dog parks but just to walk around them, allowing Angus to get familiar with being around other dogs, and how to control his behavior. This has honestly made a HUGE difference with our pupper! The training doesn't stop even though we're done with the program. We're now able to walk off leash with him around the complex and he can place anywhere we point to. We still have to work on getting Angus to be more relaxed when coming in contact with other dogs but we're very confident that we have the proper tools to get him there!

Upon arrival, I was promptly…read moregreeted by staff and taken into an exam room while my pet was taken to the back for vitals. The technician informed me that his temperature was so low it wouldn't register, so they placed him in an incubator while waiting for a doctor. I then sat for over an hour and a half before finally speaking to Dr. Brands. From the start, his focus was on his computer creating an estimate, not on my hedgehog. He briefly mentioned doing an ultrasound (which showed "nothing significant"), said they had given "oral sugar," but that my pet was still lethargic. Throughout, he made little to no eye contact, and instead talked extensively about the cost of hospitalization -- quoting me $3,000-$4,000 -- before even performing basic diagnostics. He presented me with three options: hospitalization, taking him home with fluids and a liquid diet, or euthanasia. He spoke over me and my mom for nearly twenty minutes, barely allowing us to ask questions. At one point, he even admitted, "I don't know a lot about these guys -- he could just be old." The estimate I was handed was $4,000-$6,000. When I asked if they had rechecked his temperature (almost 2 hours after the first attempt), they had not -- only then agreeing it was "a good idea." When I asked if a simple blood glucose check had been done, I was told it would require invasive catheter placement unless I agreed to the high estimate. Only when I specifically suggested a foot or ear prick did he acknowledge they "could try." At that point, I had already decided to seek care elsewhere. I also mentioned that I work at another emergency veterinary hospital, and instead of showing more professionalism, Dr. Brands dismissed me with, "So you've been holding out on me -- you already know everything I said." When I went to see my hedgehog in the treatment area, I was horrified. He was in an incubator with oxygen but no heat support despite being hypothermic. They had given subcutaneous fluids -- which is inappropriate for a hypothermic patient. As I arrived, he was gasping for air. The technician admitted this had "just started," yet Dr. Brands brushed it off, saying there had been no respiratory distress on his exam. He then walked away and never returned. Within ten minutes, my hedgehog began agonal breathing. I held him in my arms as he passed. The technician confirmed his death -- but I never saw or heard from Dr. Brands again. He did not acknowledge that his patient had died, nor did he provide any comfort or closure. I had called ahead to confirm there was an exotic doctor available, and this hospital is supposed to be a leading facility for exotics. Instead, my hedgehog was given inadequate, careless care in his final moments. I am not upset that my hedgehog passed -- he was elderly -- but I am devastated that he suffered unnecessarily because of the lack of urgency, compassion, and basic medical standards from the doctor.
