2/22/25: Stopped by with my dog to pick up some wet dog food. I was passing the by fish area and J.B. asked if he could help me. I told him that I was looking at the cichlids. He said that he was one of the dog trainers, and we got to talking about dogs, cichlids and fish tanks. He was very genuine and friendly. He made me feel like a valued customer, and as if we had know each other for years. Great shopping experience, and a great time. I spent a lot of money in this store over a couple of years on fish and equipment. It was my favorite store till today. Yes, I set up my third fish tank and bought a lot of equipment and sand for the tank. I had 2 bags, 20 lbs. bags of sand left over, so I tried to return them today. They said I would get 8 dollars for both bags of sand. I have invested a considerable amount of money in this store over the past few years, purchasing both fish and various equipment. This establishment has been my preferred destination until this recent experience. I recently set up my third fish tank and acquired a substantial amount of equipment and substrate for it. Following the setup, I had two 20-pound bags of substrate remaining. When I attempted to return these bags today, I was informed that I would receive only $8 for both. read more

Upon walking in, it doesn't look like anything is wrong. But you'll soon find out the people who work here have no clue about animals. They don't care. I saw multiple things wrong with reptile husbandry as well as 14 dead fish. No employee around. I told the rude girl at the register and she said" where?" I said all over just go look around and she laughed at me. This is inhumane. This is why no one shops here and yalls business is bad. No care involved. No one involved. No big deal to have a dead bearded dragon a dozen dead fish and unhealthy animals suffering. I'll never support this place again read more

This specific location gives Petco a bad name. Most of the employees are extremely rude and have horrible attitudes when asked for help. That combined with the lack of knowledge and poor animal husbandry leads me to recommend against shopping here and giving this bad review. read more

This Petco store opened earlier in 2008. I really like the location and they have a pretty good selection of items for the most common types of pets. They get an extra plus for their well stocked doggie treat bar. They also have a pretty good selection of toys and other items that you may need for dogs. The size of the store isn't huge, they don't have room to board pets but they do have groomers etc onsite. It would be nice if they had more employees that could help while you're looking for something instead of having to go find an employee whenever you can't find something or if you have questions. read more

This was our first time visiting this Petco location. My husband and I received a gift card for our new puppy and wanted to stop in and get a few items. When my husband approached the register to check the balance on the card, we were told that they could not check the balance without us first purchasing something. Obviously, we didn't want to overspend the card, so my husband called the number on the back and retrieved the balance. The overall store is well organized and easy to maneuver. We enjoyed the selection of bully sticks and chew bones in the back. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have more clothing for small dogs. A few days later I received a survey in my email asking me about my experience. I shared our disappointment with the gift card policy. Within a day or two, the manager called and apologized for our experience and shared that it was a training lapse and he had addressed the issue. This was great customer service. All in all, not the best, but we would return if we were in the area. read more

Good selection of natural litters. My daughter prefers a wheat litter and a pine so I stopped by this location. I found both types in multiple sizes. I wasn't as lucky at Pet Plus, so happy I came by. Would have given fives stars but it took a while for someone to come to the register... but staff was helping someone with worms or bugs...yuck. My daughter & I went into this store today (1:20) and had the audacity to ask CHRISTY for assistance in getting a hamster (we had already picked out, AND we had to find her) ... She obviously hates her job, and should not deal with customers-she sighed, rolled her eyes, and slammed everything that was in reach to slam!! BRIA was very nice at the register, and was visibly uncomfortable dealing with CHRISTY and she actually said "oh, gosh...I'm sorry" (as christy stomped off and left the register without saying a word) I'd never hire someone with such a hateful attitude dealing with customers - not to mention INNOCENT ANIMALS!! I was going to take my Benjie to Petco where she used to get her grooming service in the past year. Unfortunately Benjie's groomer is no long working there. Then I met new groomer. I showed up 20' early she wasn't there Bc she went to take her lunch break. After walking around waiting for her to come back to work, my first impression was not good. She does not seem like she loves her job or animals. She didn't approach my puppy a nicer way. Didn't even pet her. Even Benjie came here for years she was not feeling comfortable and when she started to touch my puppy, she didn't like it she was about to snap her but my puppy never bite she is trying to protect me Bc she thought the groomer was trying to hit or something. Then this groomer was so unprofessional she acted like my puppy is a monster and started saying that she used to got bitten by a dog and she couldn't work for months. For the way she acts I am sure none of the dogs will love her. Dogs can sense it. She even wrote in her system about Benjie was being bad. Oh no lady, she had her grooming service for years it was not her first time. It's not her it's You who doesn't know how to do your job. If you read this you need to change your career Bc you don't love dogs. I can see it. I found somewhere new and they did fantastic job on Benjie. Monday night, the store is dead. There's one cashier working and 4 customers waiting to check out. The first couple checks out and is on their way. The next mom & daughter duo in front of me were experiencing some issues getting checked out (items weren't marked or pricing was being questioned). Then the cashier had to intercom for managerial assistance. Waiting.... waiting.... waiting... The man patiently waiting behind me finally got tired of holding his big bag of dog food and sighed, exasperated as he put it on the floor. After spending about 10 minutes waiting for these customer to complete their transaction, I finally gave up and left my 3 items in my cart and walked out of the store. In the time I wasted wandering around the store trying to locate my items and waiting in line, I could've driven to my Rockwall Petco and been done with my purchase and checked out and done. We went to dog training for our dog here and Olivia, the dog trainer, was great. We've gone to dog trains at other Petco's and PetSmart's but Olivia was the best. She is professional and informative. I would definitely recommend a class with her if your pup is having difficulties learning a certain behavior or command. read more

This review is for the grooming inside Petco. I took both my dogs to this location and loved how my babies came out. They looked amazing with soft coats and the shampoo they used wasnt over powering. I told them that my one yr old shih tzu had never been to a groomer before and they made sure it was a good first experience. I didnt tell them that she is very particular about her paws and doesnt like anyone to touch them. They realized this on their own and told me they just trimmed her nails but didnt buff them and took that off from the final price. I was very happy with my service and will definitely bring my babies back here. read more

i have gone to this petco for YEARS, as long as i can remember. unfortunately i've also seen it gone downhill. they carry my dogs food so i come here and everytime it's something new. the store is dead so you have to track the employees to help you. and when you ask for help they're rude. i've always price match and sometimes they say they can match the price sometimes they can't! today the cashier was extremely rude. i just walked out and went to petsmart instead! i rather give them my business! sorry petco! will never return to this location read more

I am doing a review not only for this location! But for my stylist Bethany! She did an amazing job with my dog Bear yesterday and I couldn't be more happy with the results. Bear is a mini Aussie so he has lots of hair and he is still a pup and does not go to the groomers much. I was nervous coming to a new location but she made sure he was comfortable beforehand and we walked through all the lengths of haircuts she can do for him as well as educating me in the process! I've gone to other places and they did not want to cut much of his hair because he's long hair but she got as close as she could to what I asked!!!!!! Amazing job I would definitely recommend anyone to this location JUST for Bethany! Thank you Bethany, Bear and I will definitely be back!!!!!! read more

Everyone is soo pleasant and my dog is always well taken care of at this location. They do a great job in the grooming department. No matter the time of the day, everyone has a smile and you feel welcomed from start to finish. This assures me my dog is happy when he gets his grroming done. This review is in regards to the Manager (Amanda Winn) of the Grooming Salon inside Petco (Firewheel Store No. 1476). I have been taking my dog to this location for the past 2 to 2-1/2 yrs as a walk-in for nail grinding. This past Sunday morning when I brought my dog in for her monthly visit, I was informed that they had no information on my dog. This is ridiculous after 2 years and was just there a month ago. I asked to speak to a manager, and Amanda Winn rudely told me that she WAS the manager and that they needed to have my dog's rabies certificate prior to any service. I understand they need such, but this information has been supplied to them twice now, should be in the system as well as any other information on my dog after 2 years+ of being a customer there. Seriously, who carries their dog's rabies certificate with them 24/7? She mentioned to call vet. Well, my vet is closed on Sunday, as are most. One of the other groomers even advised Amanda that she did my dog's nails last month. Amanda could have cared less. She was not going to check into why my dog's information no longer existed, my dog even has her rabies tag on her collar, and flat out was not going to service us. I advised her that this was absolutely unacceptable and that I will have to take my business elsewhere. The manager of the Grooming Salon (Amanda Winn) had the NERVE to tell me, "Don't ever come back to this store!". Excuse me? Because of their screw up? I have since contacted the Asst Mgr of the store, headquarters and am awaiting a call from the GM, as this is unacceptable customer service and I do not think I feel comfortable with them servicing my dog with that type of conduct. read more

I really enjoy the new store and it's convienient to my home. I especially like the grooming service. My dog is expertly groomed by Stacey and she does just what I want for my pet grooming. I've been to other places and they groom the dog the way they like it. I'm very satified with this store. The store could carry a few more of the Milk Bone treats my dog likes, but has a nice selection otherwise. read more

Same problems at this location as the one in Rockwall. The scales at this locations treat bar do match at the register but signs are posted that the scales at the treat bar are only an estimate. The register set up at this location is horrible. Causes a long back up & not enough room for people to get by each other easily. read more
