This place is awesome. Don't let the look of the older building fool you. Mr Mutt is a single owner hands-on business. My dog has been going here for years!!! Absolutely recommend them. read more

they gave us an 8 o'clock appointment. We went there and without any announcement they are closed. We went the following day. Dropped the dogs at 8 AM and it's already 6 pm . They have not done with the three dogs. I'm not coming back anymore. Very poor service. Place so dirty. The single staff cannot cope up with over booking . 3 of us dog parents are waiting . I have to take my 3 rd dog without a bath . The 2nd dog still wet unable to blow dry. please keep your commitment to your clients !!! read more

There is not a better place for customer service!!! We have been taking our dogs here for a few years. Recently we had a dog who is very skittish around people and doesn't do well in public. She came out of her way to come to my house to trim my dogs nails. She is so fast and efficient and very good with dogs, would recommend!!! read more

I brought my two teacup Pomeranians here and left with the worst experience I've ever had at a groomers. I dropped them off at 9:30am and didn't receive a call/text of when they would be done. They told me they close at 6pm and it was 5:50pm and still no update. I rushed over there for fear that they'd close and my babies would have to stay the night. On the way over there, my sister called the place about 15 times before we got an answer. I got there and saw that my red Pomeranian, Prada, was just starting to get worked on at almost 6pm. They were blow drying their hair with a shop vac. The place looked disgusting (I hadn't went inside when I dropped them off) and I was appalled. One of the employees told me they had one groomer and 22 appointments that day. They are completely over booking themselves. My other Pomeranian, the one they were able to groom fully, as you can see in the photo, was cut around her ears too close to her ear. I've never had a groomer go that close to such a delicate spot. I am disappointed with the service and the lack of professionalism as I saw great reviews about this place. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who loves their fur babies. read more

if I could give it negative 5, I would. I dropped off my dog at noon to be groomed. At 5:10pm, when I had heard nothing, I went to check in him. To my astonishment, the lady said it had been a day and was just about to start on him, almost 5.5 hours after I dropped him off. I said no, got him and left without a word. I will never take my dog back there and would suggest the same to anyone else thinking about. read more

They always do a fabulous job grooming my dog. He is very anxious, so he can bite out of being scared. They are very patient with him and we are always very satisfied. As far as the comments on it being plain inside and dirty. It's a dog grooming/bath place. Who cares? They do their job, love dogs, and keep it clean as humanly possible. read more

Great service and super friendly owner. I have been to a few different dog wash businesses in DFW and this is definitely a great one to go to. The owner washed my foster dog for me for a great price and obviously knows what he is doing and loves dogs. Cheaper than having it done at Petsmart and a better job if you ask me. My pup looks beautiful! read more

The con: This place could really stand to be cleaned up. Peeling linoleum, balls of hair everywhere, piles of stuff all around- just generally dirty and disheveled. The pros: Great price point for DIY service, nice smelling products (shampoo and conditioner), easy to use stations and tools, ample dryers and towels, and- best of all- a VERY helpful and friendly staff! We were so glad to find this place. read more

This was our first time here and they did a great job! She smells wonderful and looks adorable. I had trimmed her eyes a few weeks back and didn't do the best job and they were able to blend that issue out nicely. I checked her out for any nicks and cuts and she didn't have a thing. I'm thankful to have found and tried this place out. We will definitely be returning. read more

Mr Mutt Dog Wash - Dog Grooming - Full Dog Groom (Includes Haircut) - Pet Groomers Near Me - Rowlett, Texas

This place is amazing!!! They're so kind and willing to be flexible with drop off and pick up

Laurie and team did a great job handling my uncooperative pup. The self wash was closed due to COVID. They were able to fit him in for a bath and blow dry. They were unable to wash his stubbornness out but otherwise he came out clean! read more

I took my miniature poodle there and she was shaved too close. She was not matted or anything like that. One ear was cut shorter than the other one. I took her at 1:00 pm and they didn't have her ready until 5:30. Needless to say we won't go back there!! read more

I've taken my pup here twice and have been extremely happy with Mr Mutt both times. I can tell they really care about the dogs. Laura and her staff are very friendly. I feel comfortable leaving my baby with them, which says something because I don't trust him with anyone. Very reasonable prices and in /out in about 2 hours. Highly recommend! read more

I took my very fluffy German shepherd mix here yesterday for a much needed bath. I planned on bathing her myself because she gets nervous and I just thought she'd do better with me doing it instead of dropping her off. A very nice young man - I forgot to ask his name, but I think another employee called him Michael - helped me through the entire bath. He lifted her up onto the bath table for me (she's 60 pounds), helped me with the shampoo/conditioner/rinser, then after the bath he moved her to the drying table and helped me dry her, which took a good while with all that long fur! It looked like a snowstorm in there! I wish I had taken a picture. I thought my girl had some mats behind her legs, but the groomer came over and did her magic. She told me they weren't mats, just her thick undercoat coming in and she brushed it all out for me and gave me advice on how to keep her undercoat brushed out. The two of them helped me so much. I told him to please charge me their regular bath/groom charge, but he wouldn't do it. He said they're there to help! So I made up for it on the tip. I will definitely bring her back to Mr. Mutt. It was worth every penny just to not have the wet towels and all that mess in my house, but their help was the icing on the cake. Their shampoo and conditioner smelled good and helped detangle my very fluffy girl. For the reviews mentioning the place being dirty, it's a dog grooming place, for goodness sake, not a beauty salon. They're blow-drying dogs and brushing them out. Of course there's going to be fur everywhere! I'm sure it's all cleaned up when they have time in between clients and at the end of the day. Give them a break! read more

Mr Mutss is a great place the owner is a great guy very helpfull They have weekend Groomers that are the best in town and if you just want to wash your dog and not get a full service groom they have 6 tubs setup just for that.....Great place!!!!!!!!! read more

Been going there for years and I wash my own dogs. Saturday I was there and they had teenagers washing dogs for the groomer. No adult supervision, no training those kids. One boy ha a black lab in the wash, the kid stepped away and the lab jumped the tub and hung himself. The teen just stood there while I and another teen ran to pick up the dog and release it from strangling. The safety leads used in the tubs are too long and no training these kids. I doubt the owner of that lab was told to watch for damage to the neck. This place is ok if you stay and wash your own pet, witnessing a dog strangling....I would not leave my dog there for any reason. read more

Mr Mutt is a great place to get your dog washed or to wash him yourself. The owner is super friendly and often helps you wash your own dog and get him out the door faster. I've been going there for years and highly recommend it! read more

I had to save a small black and white dog from strangulation today while I was bathing my dog at Mr. Mutt in Rowlett. It had jumped from the tub and was dangling on the side of the tub. None of the 3 workers were around until I yelled for help. While this is disturbing - it's not the first time - be forewarned - see review below of this happening approx a year ago. read more

This place is awesome! I had just moved to texas and was looking for a place to get my dog groomed or simply washed! I called and the owner let me know I could self groom if I wanted to get in and out which was fine with me! I arrived and everyone was very friendly, one of the employees even shaved some of the matted fur in some areas before I washed my dog, and the owner even jumped in and washed my dog for me! He simply instructed me on how to dry him etc. It was a great experience and I will DEFINITELY be returning! read more

We had our Golden Retriever groomed at Mr Mutt and were very happy with the service. He was bathed, hair cut, and nails trimmed. When we picked him up he was very happy and looked great. He was well cared for. We will definitely be back. read more

I can't believe this place has 4.7 stars. My Lab was sent home soaking wet. By the time we got home, his coat was standing straight up. I can't do anything with it. As if that wasn't enough, they cut my little 4 pounds Yorkie's leg, cut his hair waaay shorter than we discussed AND it's all uneven. It looks like a third grader cut it. This was this biggest waste of money EVER. I wouldn't take my stuffed animals there. read more

the only problem that happened to me is, to ask for an appointment they tell me at 9 am, it arrived 10 minutes before 9 am and my dog spent 7 hours in a cage, I don't think they ask for an appointment at 9 am at the hairdresser, they are sitting 7 without water without going I'm not going to take it to the bathroom again read more

Loved this place! My best friend and I went to take my German Shepherd to do the self wash since I moved into an apartment and can't wash him there. Everything was so convenient, they provided apron's, the soap, conditioner, dryer, towels, they even sprayed cologne on him for free when I was paying. (which was only $20) one of the workers/owner helped me dry my dog without charging which was really helpful! Defiantly going back and my best friend is going to start taking her German Shepherd too! read more

Mr Mutt Dog Wash - My German Shepherd usually doesn't like taking baths but he seemed to be at ease - Pet Groomers Near Me - Rowlett, Texas

Did a great job on my foster dog Jake who is a Schnauzer. Gave him a fabulous, cool summertime haircut and trimmed his nails (something they were unable to do when I took him to another groomer previously!). Did exactly what I asked with his cut. Very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely recommend them. read more

Fantastic, friendly service along with extremely reasonable prices. The owner, Steve, is very helpful and friendly. I've seen numerous times where he charges someone for a self bath then jumps in to help the dog's owner give the bath without up-charging - not very man dog wash places would be willing to get their hands dirty without personal gain, but Steve certainly does! The three times I've been, the facilities have been very clean. The staff is very helpful with my 100 lb. dog. They trim his paws, and any other fur that looks a bit much and that also clip his nails. Overall, this place is 5+++. If you don't want to wash your pup at home, definitely head over there! read more

Hands up outstanding. I love taking my dog here. They always do a fantastic job, and you can tell that they care for Your fur baby. That being said, they cut my dog's nails in such a way that his nails are splitting and I'll be spending a lot at the vet. Hundreds to get them removed. read more

It's a nice place for self-washing your dog. We own a fur factory, who kept clogging our bathtub drain, so I looked for a place to wash our dog weekly. The place isn't fancy. It's bare bones but it's clean, doesn't smell, and has a very attentive, helpful staff. They provide shampoo, conditioner, clean towels, and blow dryers. The price is fair, and we were in and out w a clean dog in about 20 mins. Can't ask for better than that. read more

I called on a busy Saturday and they squeezed in my 2 german shepherds. Excellent service, very friendly, and great prices.

Mr Mutt gives quality service at fair price. My Schnoodle gets the full grooming treatment (cut, shampoo, nails, ears, Sanitary-cut glans) and Laura listens and does exactly what I like for styling. They give extra good care. I highly recommend them, especially over the big box pet store groomers. read more

This is not the fanciest place ever, and it seemed kinda dirty. But the pricing was good and they did good work. They were out to lunch and scheduled to return right at my Took care of the pup and I was satisfied with the results. She came out clean, looking good, and smelling much better read more

I like to bring my dog here because I can bathe her myself. It's not the best kept up place but I overlook that because the people are nice. I cannot give them more stars though because they do not work the hours they have posted. Today marks the second time I've driven from Sachse only to have them locked up tight when I got here. They need to either change their hours posted online or work those hours. The times on the door for Tuesday-Friday have been scratched off so who knows what the hours really are. read more

I previously wrote about how Mr Steve at Mr Mutt refused to service my 20lb peke because he couldnt handle him. I took him to Pretty Pup on Dalrock and HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM. This is a wonderful place staffed by the most friendly, helpful people you could hope to find! I was concerned when I moved to Rowlett that I could find a place as good as the shop I used in North Dallas. Much to my delight, Mr. Mutt is even better!! I absolutely love this place. The owner and his daughter are awesome. I have never had issues in the 5 years I have been going here. They are always accommodating and friendly. After the Dec 26th tornado, they even groomed all 3 of my pups and let me pay later at less than half price! They always have knowledgeable advice based on any findings. One of my rescues had major fleas and they advised me the best way to treat them long term. My vet and Mr. Mutt are the 2 places that I will always use for my pups! Thank you Mr. Mutt! read more

Where do I begin? My baby had an 11 appt this morning. When I dropped her off, I gave them my # and asked them to PLEASE call me when she was finished bc my baby does not do well left in a kennel waiting to be picked up. I watched the young man write my # in the spiral and he wrote it down correctly. At 2:20 pm I had not heard from them, so I decided to call. The young man answered the phone and I asked if my baby was ready to be picked up. Instead of him saying, "hold on ma'am, let me check", he said nothing and just layer the phone down. I heard him ask someone if she were done and the girl said not yet. Ok fine, no big deal. Again, I said please call me when my baby is done. At 4:20 pm, 2 hrs later, I had not heard from them, knowing they close at 5:00 on Saturdays, I called again. Same young man answers and once again, he just lays the phone down. Someone needs to be teaching these young people some phone etiquette! He comes back and says, "Oh yea she's been done for 3 or 4 hours, we called several times!" Ummm wait, how can she have been done for 3 or 4 hours when I called 2 hours ago and y'all hadn't even started her? So, upset, I hung up and headed up there. I got there and informed them that I needed to speak to whomever was in charge. So a woman came out and I told her I had NOT been notified when she was done. Again, I was told they did call me. So I requested that she look through her phone to show me where I had been called. She couldn't find it. So she left to go get my baby. The young man brought her to me, which REALLY pissed me off bc I was NOT done talking to her, who was a manager!! So THAT was rude that she didn't even bring her to me!! The young man pulled out their phone and he said, "oh she called another number twice, she got your # wrong". Well, maybe you should CHECK the book more carefully where you wrote my # down in the first place! I checked my baby's ears, they had NOT been cleaned out, AT ALL! Her nose was SKINNED TO THE BONE, she has a nasty cut under her left arm that I can't get stopped from bleeding, her cut is UNeven ALL OVER. Oh I paid, and REGRET it 100% bc I guess I just don't understand the customer's rights. Anyways, I got home and my son said she didn't even smell clean. My allergies are all stopped up, so I couldn't tell. So I don't believe she had been bathed! I had to clean out her ears and they weren't even attempted to get cleaned by the groomers. I called up there to talk to the manager and I told her that I would really need that charge to be reversed bc this was just unacceptable. I told her that they SKINNED my baby's nose and she disputed that. So I told her I could send her a pic of her nose and her ears. So she gave me the # and I did. I also said she didn't even smell clean. So she texted me that she bathed my baby twice. She never once responded to me if she got the pics I sent her. But I did say, "Sweetie, if you bathed my baby twice, her ears would be clean and she would smell clean, but instead she smells like she's been running around outside". So at this point, I know I won't be refunded. That's fine, lesson learned, but I will NEVER EVER bring my baby here again. read more

Love this place. They really care and go out of their way to take care of our babies. I have never had a bad experience here.

I scheduled an appointment for my dog to get groomed, I was expecting to have her seen as soon as I showed up so she wouldnt have to be caged but they explaned the process and I was fine with it. I was charged a little more than expected but my dog loved her hair cut and she also liked the staff. I will be using them again. read more

I live in Rowlett and switched over to Mr. Mutt several years ago. I have never had any problems and Steve and the staff have always done a really good job. I won't go to another pet grooming business because I would never get such good service. There have been no problems and I find the friendliness to be refreshing. The cost of service for washing, grooming and nail clipping is more than affordable compared to other grooming services. I feel like I can trust all the staff with my doggie. If I have a question or a concern it is addressed promptly and to my satisfaction. I am happy; the dog is happy and looks well groomed when he has completed his sartorial adventure at Mister Mutt. I would recommend this business to anyone who has a pet. Try it. You will love it! read more

If there was a negative rating, that is what I would give. If you plan on getting your pet groomed, be sure to have your pets shot record available, I'll advise you in advance, since they didn't for me! I drove 30 minutes to be in Rowlett by 8:30, they were late, then I was advised needed shots record ? I've never been asked to provide this by any other groomers in DFW. Wouldn't use this groomer again if they were free !!! read more
