2 years ago I moved from Rowlett. We had a very old chihuahua ,who did not like her nails done became anxious. Every one at this lovley place is so kind gentle caring. Took my puppy, who is not very well behaved but instead of calling us to pick him for not cooperating, they gave him some poor cut in his face and what it looked like they grabbed the front of his hair and cut a piece off, claim they did a sani cut, trimmed his legs, and did his nails and charged us $60 for it. I do NOT recommend this place. My Yorkie was cut with their grooming scissors on the top of her head and in her ear. They never told me about this. Several days later I notice a big black Tar like glob on her head. Took her to the vet who cleaned her wounds, said it was done with sharp scissors, and put her on antibiotics. I sent HOT Diggity a letter requesting only the money back from the vet, & the grooming. Not a word from them. Possibly a lawyer would have better luck. read more

A family member recommended this place so I gave it a try. Made an appointment today at 12 P.M. and took my 9 month old Maltese/Pekingese here to get groomed. I asked the front desk on how long will it normally take, she said it should be done around 2 or 2:30 but they'll give me a call. 3 P.M. came and still haven't heard from them yet so I gave them a call to get some updates. The lady who answered the phone said that the groomer still have some combing to do and should be done in 20-25 min. I got a text message from them at 3:53 P.M. saying that my puppy is ready to be picked and they close at 4 P.M. I got there on time to pick her up and there's couple people picking up their dogs as well after me. The groomer came out with Chloe. As he was handing Chloé to me, I started asking questions on how she was the whole time. He said, she did great but she's not used to scissors on her face. But other than that, she was good! Then, we left. Made it home and noticed that she got clipped by clippers (check picture, would is so deep), got skin irritation, and razor burns under her stomach). At this time, it is too late for me to call the place back and let them know what I found out since they closed at 4 PM. I was so disappointed!!! and feel so bad for my puppy that when we came home she didn't even wanna play or eat or drink water. She must be traumatized. Their price is higher compared to any other place. I had my 2 dogs grooming and bathing. They didn't trim my dogs sanitary area , and they supposed to clean my dogs ears which included in grooming and bathing packages but they didn't do so I have to tell them, but she said" their groomers are left" Make me wondering if they actually brush my dogs teeth since I pay extra for that service. This place is absolutely awful & can NOT be trusted with your beloved family pets! The grooming is horrible, the service is atrocious & your pets are likely to come home injured in some way. Either their nails have been cut so short they bleed, they have razor burn, skin rashes, or somehow they have punctures like they have been attacked. Then when you ask questions they act like they don't know what you are talking about, like your pet is the problem or they are just down right rude to you and try to charge you fees for their negligence. We have used Hot Diggity Dog for a couple years to groom our Wheaton Terrier. We noticed a change in staff after the COVID shut down and have now given them several chances to keep our business. First groom back, they were just okay. On the second groom, it seemed they didn't follow any directions on length of cut. This time, the third attempt...they called saying our dog was ready around noon and asked to have her picked up by 1 o'clock (a very quick pick up expectation). $90 plus tip later... my husband had to even out our dog's coat and COMPLETELY clean and trim her private parts. Extremely disappointed in the groomer service especially since the finished product is just as good as going to Petco or PetSmart. We definitely miss the original staff and will begin the arduous task of finding another groomer. read more

Have used them in the past and never had any issues; however, my most recent visit was very different. I was visiting my family from Houston and decided to get my dog groomed while in town. When I arrived there was very clearly a sign on the front door asking customers to wear a make due to COVID concerns. I politely wear a mask, and to my surprise none of the staff was wearing a mask, and the front desk attendant was not wearing a mask. As I was waiting for my dog to get taken back, another customer (who I assume is a regular) came in. The customer opened the door and allowed his three small dogs to run in off leash. One dog immediately came up to my dog and nipped her on the face. My dog of course reacted to the nip and I had to pull my dog back. My wife had to nudge the small dogs away. All the while the owner and staff are nowhere to be seen. After the owner walked in, I told him what happened, he for the most part ignored it and left. The staff then returned said sorry, and took my dog back. All the while I am shocked at what has happened so far. When I return to pick my dogs up, I was told the total charge was $178. As with anything I ask to see an invoice of the charge before I pay, but am told I need to pay first, then they will print it. I asked again for a breakdown as I want to know what I am being charged before I pay, and begrudgingly a staff member told me. One of the charges was a $10 handling fee charge (the cost is not the issue, it is the principle). I asked what that was for. He said my dog tried to bite a staff member, and jump off the table. They had to have another staff member help. I told the staff member my dog gets groomed every 2 months, and has been boarded before. In all her grroming and boarding she has never had anything but excellent reports.. I asked to see video of what my dog did that caused the charge. He said there is no video in that area. I asked what would have caused it to happen. He said it could have been the new environment, etc. I asked him if it could have been the fact that my dog was bit as i was waiting for her to be taken back, and that made her on edge. To make a long story short the staff member became very defensive as i was questioning this charge and my dogs experience. Their defensiveness only made me question what really happened more. As i was asking questions the staff member said he red flagged my account and I cannot come back (I wouldn't have come back anyways). In summary from start to finish this was an aweful experience. I can only assume their defensiveness over the question, and unprofessional handling of this issue is a response to poor handling of my dog. My dog is only ever sweet, and kind. I believe the staff mishandled my dog, or lack the kindness and experience to handle grooming properly. Absolutely horrible customer service. First of all, in the middle of a pandemic and all business require masks, including this one per the sign on their door, so I show up in a mask and the front desk guy does not have a mask on (during drop off or pick up) and was barefoot the whole time. Secondly, we tried to get a better understanding of the $10 fee being charged for "handling" of one of our dogs and while trying to discuss it they "red flagged" us. Over a conversation?! We had our payment method out and were willing to pay but we absolutely have every right to discuss why it is being charged and express our concerns over how they operated and treated our dog. Reading the previous reviews of this places shows that this is not a one off experience. The front desk guy just "red flags" anyone who has a disagreement or is anything but pleased with them. We weren't going to come back here anyway, but this just really gave us another good reason not to. Regarding one of my dogs haircut - it is choppy, and uneven. Well I took my large dog Cloud to Hot Diggity Dog Groomers in Rowlett. So very upset the cut him so many times I may fill suite against them. Then they tried to pass it off moles. Then groomer said it was puncture wounds from our yard. Which I doubt on either, since we would have seen the blood on a white dog. You would think when they cut him the first time, they would have stopped and raised the clippers blades to not cut him again. BUT NO they kept on using the same blade level and cut him a bunch a of more times. Of course you pay before you see your dog. DO NOT USE THEM HORRIBLE GROOMERS. I took my golden-doodle here twice. The first time They said she was too knotted and had to shave her all off. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought her hair will grow back so no big deal. I tried again over this past weekend. They did the same and almost shaved my dog again! To make matters worse I wasn't informed when I picked up my dog after grooming they shaved her chin and have a big cut! I don't even know if they treated my dog with medicine. We've boarded our dogs Bonnie & Jack at Hot Diggity Dog a couple of times now while going on vacations. I'm about to book bath appointments for them as well. I have never felt as comfortable leaving my pups with anyone as much as I do here. While touring the facility they let me ask as many questions as I wanted and provided me with awesome answers putting my mind at ease somewhat. They have a close working relationship with our Vet so that's always helpful. I truly believe they love our dogs almost as much as we do. Jade has done a great job keeping the place clean and accommodating any needs we may have. They even sell cute little items up front! I would give no star if i could. Have used this boarding facility a handful of times and have been pretty much pleased, but this past Thanksgiving when I picked my dogs up one of them was acting kinda weird. When I got her home and bathed her i found out why. She had been attacked. Her ear was completely punctured all the way through and her face had bite marks on it. So bad that i could see thru her cheek. When i called to talk to them about what happened they didn't have a clue as to what happened. No cameras in the boarding section, they say, and Greg told me that there was another group of techs checking on them over the holiday so he didn't know what happened except for the dogs next to them had got in a fight among themselves. Greg did call a few days later to check on her and then told me that he was the vet tech on call that Thursday and Friday and didn't notice anything. (he had just told me 3 days before that he wasn't on call) When Jade the owner called me back she told me that my dogs were not "very good when they are here" funny because Greg (when he called to check on my dog) had told me otherwise, that they were really good when they stayed there. If they weren't very good then why hadn't I been told before? They always told me they did fine and were great. They never told me anything about her bites or her being attacked. I believe it was not because they didn't notice. I think they were hoping I wouldn't. Funny how they don't want to take any responsibility for anything that happens while your babies are in their care yet they should. You LEFT THEM IN THEIR CARE!!! Babysitters are held responsible, nursing homes, hospitals......why aren't they? You may have used them and had no trouble, just like me but BEWARE, there's always a chance and it will be your baby's fault Not theirs. I will not use this place again. My dogs are also housebroken and can go hours holding it and their covers reeked of urine when i picked them up, makes me think they don't quite check on them as much as they say. Today was the SECOND time that I've been put in a bind by this shop. First time they were panicking about the possibility of snow. (It didn't.) I missed their hysterical phone calls because I was at work and almost didn't get to pick up my dog because they were closing 2 1/2 hours early. Today, on my way there, they call and announce their "policy" about holding the dog until closing if you're more than 10 minutes late. If I'd known that I would have left and hour early and sat in their parking lot. I was stuck in traffic and had no way to get there. I was almost there and only 15 minutes late. I have been going to the same place for over 8 years and decided to give this one a try. First of all, when you walk in, they are so friendly and make sure your dogs are calm and relaxed before they take them back. It's a very, clean, warm & inviting place. There have lots of cool things in the front that you can purchase to keep your fur baby nice and spoiled! Corey took care of my babies and he was super sweet and did a fantastic job! A groomer who does not take pride in their work, craft and artistry of the profession! The worst haircut in the history of Standard Poodles; took my dog there on a referral, Megan assured me they cut 2 to 3 Standards a week, showed them a picture of a sport cut which is absolutely elegant on a black standard. I received a call 3 hours later to pick up my dog, I immediately felt sick to my stomach because someone cut his topknot off omg, upon further inspection I discovered his cut was uneven with long hairs out of place and strands of hair throughout his entire body were out of place as if he was dishovel. He was wet, the hair on his lower extremities was wet, behind his ears wet and curly and totally wet around his genitals. California master groomers would die if they saw the way this salon groomed my poodle. I am not certain if it is sheer laziness, lack of skill and technique or just flat out disregard for the Standard Poodle breed, which typically wins the Westminster Dog Competition AKA Cyba the black standard who won a couple years ago. Nonetheless I will be disputing this charge, I have taken pictures of this debacle yet I will have to look at this embarrassment of the breed for at least 8 weeks, I am even considering taking him into my financial institution so that they may see my dismay, this is unacceptable and confusing as to why a groomer would expect a client to pay for substandard services. Read the negative reviews on Google as well and run like hell from this place, I wonder if the groomer was actually impaired. read more

So I took my dogs, Bandit and Ruby, to this groomer yesterday. Bandit had some matting on her as she is a maltipoo with extremely curly hair, and she always has whenever we would take her to the groomer. The lady called to tell us they were ready and informed us that Bandit had some skin irritation on her underarm due to the matting, which is understandable. When we picked up the girls she again informed me of "skin irritation" and we had a brief chat about how I could better prevent matting like that. When I got in the car and looked at my dogs underarm I felt nauseous. I've never seen a "skin irritation" with a chunk of skin missing and oozing fluid. On the way home we called the lady to inform her that she did cut my dog and she got extremely defensive and claimed that it was only bruising and skin irritation. No "I'm sorry" or any sort of remorse. We get home and my baby is traumatized. She wouldn't even walk, I have to carry her around, and she could not stop shaking yesterday. Bandit is the one who's normally running around non stop acting just like a bandit, I feel like I have taken home a completely different dog. This morning she still will not walk so we decided to take her to the vet. Before we left we called the lady again to inform her that it was definitely a cut and oozing and instead of holding her position on it being "skin irritation" she blamed us for her being matted. She's been groomed many times before with matts and has never once come home with a gash on her underarm. Still no apologies. Being upset with how my mother was spoken to on the phone, my dad then called the salon. Note we were not rude, upset due to the situation but not rude. My dad basically asked what the lady was going to do about the cut on my dogs arm, whether it be apologize, refund our money or show any sort of care for the fact that she injured an animal. He was told that I should have been made to sign a form stating it was my fault because she was matted. The vet confirmed that she was indeed cut but didn't want to put any stitches or staples because the underarm skin is so thin and delicate. I'm not mad that the accident happened. Could I do better on getting her regularly groomed? Yes! I'm mad at the lack of sympathy, lack of apologies, and denial of the fact that my dog was injured when the phone calls from today prove that this woman knew she hurt my dog, tried to cover it up, then tried to blame it on me. Bandit has been groomed with matts on her before and never once did she come home with skin missing. The extremely rude customer service, lack of sympathy (and possibly lack of care for animals), denial of ones mistake when all that was even wanted was an apology, and how traumatized my poor baby is is enough for me to find a new groomer. The only reason this is two starts instead of one is because all the other times we have been here everyone has been so nice and the girls have looked great. Yesterday was the first time I've seen the lady who did my dogs, I believe her name was Jade. Everyone makes mistakes, it happens, were all human, but we also all have to own up to our mistakes.
