I went here hoping to find my new pet groomer. I have been away from the area for two years. The groomer I used for my fur baby no longer worked at the shop I used before, so I tried a different groomer. The did not pass the test so that was the last time I went there. I was really hoping this spa would be a place I could rely on for my fur baby. Overall, my experience was a three. The custtomer service was excellent. The hair cut for my fur baby was really awful. He had plugs of hair missing in so many areas. I know he is an active boy, and does not sit still, but I would expect a professional spa to know how to handle such a curious and active boy. We recently adopted Mia(yorkie)and learned she has a hard time adapting to new surroundings and being handed off to a stranger. She gets very afraid and can be snappy! Our wonderful vet team(Animal Medical Center Forney)recommended Hailey at Forney Pet Spa. I called and was able to speak with Hailey personally and discuss my concerns. I also got to talk with her when we dropped off Mia and Chewy to go over haircuts and any concerns. She was very friendly and understanding. She even communicated with me by texting and asking specific questions once she started grooming. From drop off to when they were completed was a little over 2 hours. They cut my baby way too short where I could see her skin. She had a few knicks on her actual skin. My husband picked her up for me while I was at work so I didn't see her until I got home. I do like how they cut her face and head though. Edited to add that the owner Haley reached out to me and let me know that the groomer that groomed my dog is no longer there. I recently moved to Forney and was looking for a new grooming spa and came across the reviews from pet spa. First of all, their communication is superb. Whoever handles the calls, Facebook messages and all deserves A+. They are booked in advance, but know that you get quality service, so plan ahead. I have taken Max and Ruby twice. Max is very special (15 year old with some behavior issues) and they take care of him like a baby. They make sure he's ok at all times, and he feels comfortable for his arthritis. He loves going there and leaves feeling like a puppy again. He comes home smelling good, and even with a bow tie. Brittany is the best, and I trust him with my old baby. Super sweet ladies, cool layout of the interior but so far no one has come close to the detail of our previous groomer. Had a last minute cancellation and we were asked to come in asap, brought docs and babies at 11 and didn't get them back until after 4pm. I understand if our older babe may have been a lil fussy but out of all the times we've had them Both groomed, they don't usually come out so choppy. For 5 hours I would've expected maybe take a break and then check them for evenness and touch ups. We are moving to the neighborhood so pretty bummed this was the first result especially after showing an actual photo of exactly what we wanted but not getting either looking like that... willing to maybe try a different groomer, would love to hear from business but had to be honest about first impression. ‍ read more

I like to go here and get my baby Ricco hair cut because it is price friendly for me as a disabled veteran, but there are somethings I would like to address or ask. Pls to the Lady at the front desk greet all customers regardless of skin color. I noticed the last time I came that when I walked in you didn't say hello. I was nice and friendly but was met with somewhat of a "I don't want to talk demeanor from you" So I ignored it and said I would watch for it the next time just to make sure I was not imagining things. Today I dropped my pet off and the same thing happened. No greeting no hello no smile nothing. But the guest behind me who was not African American got a greeting. After I got done with turning in my dog to get groomed. This is not right. Please treat all paying customers equally. Amanda is a good groomer and she is the one I had the very first time I ever came. I specifically asked for her today and I was promised I would get her and when I came in the schedule showed someone else was assigned to groom my baby Ricco. Pls when you tell a customer something over the phone stick to it. No surprises pls. The reason why I waited till Friday to bring him in was based on Amanda schedule. The lady even went over Amanda schedule with me on the phone and still today you all switched the groomers to someone other than Amanda. They last person who cut Ricco hair did it very choppy and not great at all, this is why I asked for Amanda. Luckily I asked before leaving the building and caught that you tried to get me assigned to another groomer. Not good at all! Lastly prices have been friendly to me and now today I was surprised with a shampoo fee, due to how long it may take to cut the dog's hair if it is matted. I am not picky on how short you go, so if you need to cut it short then pls do but I can't afford any additional extra prices due to my disabled income. I am a first time client and am very happy with my experience at Forney Pet Spa. Things to know: 1) When I first called, there was a two week wait time for their next available appointment. (This is not a bad thing, it means they're doing a great job and have loyal clients!) Be responsible and plan ahead. Once your pet is groomed, book the next one or two future appointments, before you leave. 2) Looks: The inside is themed and really cool looking with bright colors! It also was clean. I did not see a stray hairball in sight. 3) Smell: The salon did not smell like animals and the scent that my dog had on her after the groom was pleasant and not overpowering. 4) Ease of directions: Forney Pet Spa is off the service road on Hwy 80. It was easy to get to. I did, however, almost pass the driveway to get to the parking lot. Forney Pet Spa may benefit from a street sign, if not there already but the GPS easily got me to my destination. 5) Client Service: I was greeted, warmly, by two woman at the check-in desk. I did not get their names but they answered any questions I had, with patience and understanding. When I picked up, after the groom, client service was just as welcoming and kind. They told me my baby did great and all was well. 6) Price: extremely reasonable! Great value for the fantastic grooming that they provide. 7) The groom: Ash and I thank you so very much for your expertise, excellent client service and fantastic grooming. I was not expecting her to have a beautiful blow out (pleasant surprise) when I picked up but she looks gorgeous, smells great and there is a noticeable minimization in hair throughout the house this week. I took my pup there after waiting 6 weeks for my grooming appointment and it was not a good experience. They gave my dog the wrong cut, they didn't do his ears or glands and never got a call back after I called to get them to do those things. Also, I called them at 400 and my dog wasn't dont until 5. I will never bring any of my dogs here again. We just moved to Forney from Arizona a few months ago and one of our dogs needed her nails trimmed badly. My wife brought her in as a walk in to get them trimmed in and out in 5 mins perfect. When they got home i noticed blood on the tile floor in the mud room and I looked and she was missing a nail. They ripped out one of her nails while there. There was blood all over the seat in my wifes car where she was at. terrible terrible experience -10/10 WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND. Do not go to Forney Pet Spa the Groomer brown long hair don't know her name was very disrespectful after she lied to the owner and said I wasn't going to pay for my service. I know my dog can be hard to groom thus his previous groomer took her time with him and gave him breaks in between grooms because he can get aggressive in certain areas. Groomer called me and told me what the issue was I told her okay just wash and brush him she said she already groomed him mostly I said okay that's fine and she told me to get pills from the vet I said ok I can do that and told her I was on my way. She then proceeded to lie to the owner and say I wasn't paying for my service which I never said I was actually about to tip her $25 on top of paying until she lied! I then picked him up and told her that I was not happy with her lying on me and I will not be tipping her because of that. She got really defensive called me all types of name including b**tch and h**s and snapped the scissors in my face threatening to cut me! I then got defensive back and let her know I will not allow that type of disrespect! If you go here do not deal with her instead of acknowledging her miscommunication she almost tried to attack me!! read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I saw good reviews about this place but not sure how. I made an appointment to get my goldendoodle groomed about 3 weeks out. I was called a couple days before to confirm and told that drop off was at 7:30am and that the dogs are groomed in the order they arrive. I get to the groomer at 7:29am. Another gentleman was waiting in the parking lot as well, but no employee showed up until 7:50am. When I asked I was told the store doesn't open until 8am so not sure who told me to drop off at 7:30am. The other gentleman dropped off his dog and asked a question that the owner couldn't answer. She said she would have to ask the groomer. Apparently the dog had scabs that could have been caused from the groomer. Another sign I didn't want to leave my baby. Then when she started talking to me about my baby she said my goldendoodle was all matted. Not saying that she doesn't have mats here and there from her curly hair, but all over mats...NO! The mats she was referring to was the natural girl of the dog's hair! I told her I didn't want her shaved and basically she said they were going to have to shave her or charge me extra.
