I came into Petco Sunday morning to pick up an online order. I stood at the counter for a few minutes and did not see or hear anyone. I finally shouted "hello". A younger female poked her head out of an aisle and just looked at me. I said "do you work here" and she just said yes and stared at me. I had to coax her into helping me. After she helped me get my order I asked if this specific food came in a larger bag. It's the newest flavor for Ollie and I did not see a big bag so I wasn't sure if it even came in that size yet. Wonderful vet experience here. We were seen promptly after checking in and placed in a room. An initial vet came in and gave us an overview of our pup, some tips, and answered my 100 questions patiently. They were so gentle with our sweet boy and very knowledgeable. I was tired and just got off work, and I always come here and (usually) have a good experience. Today I came in and wanted to get the cyber Monday 25% off deal. I work in retail too, so I get how people can be entitled so I strive so hard not to be. I simply walk up to the checkout BEFORE I shop to not waste my time or a workers. I ask if I have to place an online order to get the 25% off. The man says "cyber-Monday, cyber - meaning online" with an attitude. I just said "ok?" and put the basket down and left, and placed an online order. I don't understand why he needed to speak to me that way, as it was simply a question. I am so happy I decided to take my dog to Petco after mishaps at Petsmart. Whenever I took my dog to Petsmart, she would rumble like an earthquake out of fear and she is not afraid of anything which made me think they mishandled her. On the contrary, I took her to Petco today and my dog was as happy as can be (we saw her wagging her tail through the window while being groomed) and came out looking prettier than she ever has from a grooming appointment. Only because I have to give minimum 1 star, Set an appointment for my golden doodle , when I got there they examined said they would do close trim due to some matted spots , hour later got a call and said they couldn't do but would recommend a vet but wasn't charging for visit and they done nothing to him . I get there and don't even recognize my dog. He was chopped up like a cotton patch looked like a lollipop drumstick , I was livid ! Everyone in the grooming salon was so kind and sweet. They treated my dog just like their own. Definitely worth not booking here for now on. Thank you! Lastly, people need to understand that grooming is a VERY hard job that takes talent. Most animals can be very nervous and groomers have to also work at the pace of the dogs behavior while also being safe. Sometimes it's difficult. They always help me find what I'm looking for and help me load up my Petco member rewards, help me carry stuff ECT. I'm only giving this place 5 stars because the employees are really great and make the experience good every time. This location is always well stocked and has what I need to buy. Petco as a whole is really expensive and things like poop bags and toys can be purchased much cheaper elsewhere. This Petco store is located in the same plaza as Sears (which is currently having their going out of business sale by the way) and next door to Bath & Body Works. My husband, our little girl dog and I decided to stop by here tonight because we are most out of dog food. We have been on vacation for almost 2 weeks and miscalculated the amount of dog food to pack (oops). But luckily this store was on our way back to our vacation rental. I don't normally shop at Petco and prefer PetSmart. But I have a gift card that I wanted to use up. We walked in and headed straight for the back where the dog food was. This store has a similar layout of other Petco stores. Please note that there is a groomers available at this location. I found canned wet dog food that I wanted for my little girl and then went back to the front to pay for my item. But of course the holiday clearance section caught my attention and I ended up buying a holiday sweater for my little girl. The sweater fit perfectly and so happy to score it at 75% off. For you dog owners, there are still a good amount of clothes, toys and holiday treats available on clearance in case you want to stock up for your beloved pets. The store was clean and the employee at the register was nice. Overall a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Excellent grooming and customer service from Brandie and Brittany in the grooming salon! I have gone to other grooming places around town and quickly realized that a higher price doesn't mean a better haircut...it's all about the person actually doing the grooming. Brittany and Brandie have both groomed my Bichon-Shitzu and I am thankful each time for a good haircut and excellent customer service! Reggie has separation anxiety and never has a problem being left there. The price is the most reasonable I've been able to find in the area, too. There are actually other Petcos closer to my house, but I drive further just to go to this location. I can't speak for every Petco's groomers, but this location has two talented and thoughtful ones! read more

They have always had a good selection to choose from and, on the toy department, I recently got a rainbow colored cloth ribbon on a stick for my cats to play with and they love it. On a previous toy I had the fluffing inside the toy started to come out, probably just ran its course with my two cats, but I thought the fluffing could be a little bit of a choking hazard for them. The employees have been nice and, when I went last night, there was a line starting to form with only one register open and two other employees saw and came over and got the line through quickly. I had explained prior to the appointment that each dog had a few very minor mats and was assured they would either untangle or trim them. This place doesn't have shopping carts. They only have the kind you can carry. I thought maybe I just couldn't locate the carts, but the cashier said they don't have carts. I had a 9 AM appointment for my dog yesterday 2/20/2018 for a bath & blow dry. The associate (Brandie) told me it would be 3 - 4 hours and they would call me for pick up. I called at noon to get an ETA so I could be in the area once he was ready. Groomer stated my dog was finished and just needed a blow dry. 1:45 PM rolls around, no call. I called the grooming salon twice and there was no answer, rang for 3 minutes each. I decided to drive over to the location to see my dog on the grooming table, 5 hours later being blow dried. EXCEPT the groomer was just holding the blow dryer on my dog's feet while she texted. I sat in my car and watched, giving her the benefit of the doubt. Only to watch her text for 10 minutes while my dog just stood in front of her. I walked in the front to immediately ask for the manager. I told him the situation, he walked into the grooming salon and they spoke for a while. The manager on duty walks out and does not even come back over to me. I am still waiting and the manager finally comes back and says "She says your dog was dirty and his coat was thick" "It will be another 2 hours, you might not want to stay because you'll only get more frustrated?" 1. My dog had a shampoo blow dry at a different location 3 weeks prior, he wasn't THAT dirty. 2. Yes, he does have thick coat, but no dog should take 5 hours for a service without a haircut!! 3. ANOTHER 2 hours? 7 hour service? The only right they made was offering the services at no charge. The manager had such poor customer service skills, unprofessional, no sincere apology/empathy, kept blaming the dog's coat, and never took ownership for HIS employee's mistake. If the groomers are at work, make them work. This is the only 15 minutes I saw of her not servicing my dog in a timely manner - I don't know what else happened in the 5+ hours my dog was in their care. I called Petco corporate and filed an official complaint against this store and store manager who was on duty yesterday. I will not be returning for ANY products. read more

I would not trust my dog at this Petco with this staff. They're rude. I have taken my dog who is on fluoxetine for anxiety to a different petco location where the staff was wonderful. The other location was very friendly and gave my dog a beautiful haircut and trimmed her nails. This location was an awful experience. Upon dropping the dog off, I received a call that they would not groom my dog due to her "being on a sedative." I'd still like to see that documentation. Also, fluoxetine does not have a sedative effect. Google it. Upon pick up they proceeded to say that the dog has aggressive behavior because she pulled towards another dog. I didn't realize that not being leash trained is aggressive behavior. Their staff clearly doesn't have the patience to work with dogs who are nervous. I wouldn't want them to have sharp objects anywhere near my pooch. read more

Booked a grooming appointment for my sweet, old dog. When I arrived the groomer, Paula B said she could not groom my dog because she is over 50 pounds. I was confused as there was nothing about weight limit on the website. Really disappointed at not only my still smelly pup, but also the bad attitude from Paula B. I made this Yelp account because I was so off put by this experience. If they can't get the customer service right to a new and paying customer, how are they treating our dogs when we leave the room? I generally go to Petco to buy fish and fish supplies, but I also make my visits to buy sizable bags of wild bird food of which they have multiple varieties. I also enjoy browsing the cat toys for my small poodle's entertainment, and discovered my first bully sticks here as well. The biggest thing I wanted to mention are the Plato Thinkers meat strips that are offered by the cash registers. These are the dog version of Slim Jims composed of over 90% meat! There are three flavors (salmon, chicken, and duck), and it's worth purchasing a couple of each per visit to keep on hand. These are some of my favorite treats to give! read more

This Petco is the same as all other Petcos, meaning it is just fine, except for one key thing. There are no carts at this store. None. Not one. I have two large dogs. I purchase very large bags of dog food. If I want to buy treats, toys, extra canned food, I literally can't because there is no way to physically carry it. I have never had one of there employees offer to help me carry anything, even when I am obviously struggling. I won't be shopping here any more and it is the closest pet store to my home. read more

Since this spot is one block from me, I come here often. I have never used the grooming so I cannot comment on it except to say that I thought the prices were decent. The rest of the store seems normal to me and decent for what it has. Definitely a good assortment of dog foods since that is my main reason to visit this location. I am happy with their prices for Merricks dog food and they send me coupons that I use when they don't have their rewards discount on it. Plenty of dog and cat toys. I've looked at both because my little dude likes feathers. I am not the type to ask for a lot of help, but I've always seen employees around the earlier I go, but they do seem to scarce later into the night. I went back to Petco to receive my refund for the Disastrous butchered hair cut Harper gave my dog. I deleted my grievances but I am going to repost it. I feel scammed by the Petco employees. I have my receipts that shows the charge for 1/24 and again on 1/25 which was supposed to be a credit. Please don't patronize Petco Store 02740. They are unprofessional and like interpersonal skills and are not genuine will they tell you they going to help. I spoke to the General Manager Laura who made me feel as though Petco would do right by compensating me. A simple refund should take less than 24 hours to reappear on my bank statement. I also have Pet insurance via Petco. I am happy it's a 3rd part company that actually pays when you file a claim. Perhaps the 3rd party should be responsible for refunds. This Petco WASS THE WORST PETCO I HAVE EVER BEEN TO !!! The receptionist named Brandy was rude to me. She did not make eye contact with me when she greeted me. She sat on her phone and renamed monotone. They also treated my dogs horribly!!!! They cut my dogs nails down way too low !!! Nearly buffed there nails off!! I had been trimming my little dogs nails for about a year until I decided to come here a few months ago as I have gotten busier with the school semester and cutting her nails becomes a whole ordeal that can take me at least 30 minutes (I have no grooming experience!) My dog is quite sensitive to people touching her paws in general and I am ill-equipped with clippers and a bathtub, so I figured it'd be best to pay somebody to do it correctly with the proper equipment and started bringing her to petco grooming. It's always been an okay job, which is understandable considering her sensitivity as well as some of her nails being fully black, so I've never expected perfection in the least, just something to keep them shorter and more comfortable for her. My most recent visit I was quite disappointed though): I paid in full for a trim after handing her to them but when I got her back there were about four black nails left long "because they were too curly". For starters, I know for a fact I have trimmed as they were longer/curlier with a worse setup and gotten the job done, so I was finding it hard to understand how she would've been unable to with my dog strapped/standing/ with better angles?? There is hardly a curl, and it doesn't make sense that those would be significantly longer than the rest that we're able to be cut as I brought her here for the last trim! Second off, I wish I had been told they wouldn't do the full job before I paid in full! I could've gone elsewhere to get this done but now I'm going to have to pay double at the vet. As I was leaving they recommended I take her to the vet, which as mentioned I wish I would've known earlier. I am sad to be writing this review as I saw them to be a reliable place for a quick trim but figured others should know this probably isn't a good place to get your dogs nails trimmed if they are too long??? I incorrectly assumed this was where I should go (the groomer) to get my dogs nails trimmed (grooming) because they are too long. read more
