It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

I told her I had already spoken to and confirmed with 2 other people that I had a reservation for my dog to stay for a few days. I picked up my dog & he was so high energy (unusual for him, unless he hasn't gotten exercise in days). He was super hungry when I got him home, & he as well as the bed I asked to leave with him were COVERED in urine! He & the bed were both freshly clean before I dropped him off (just I felt so bad I left him there. Never again!

You can tell that the employees really love our dogs!!! They are so kind and patient!!! Short story:…read more Rachael is DA BOMB of pup walking and care! We wouldn't trust Dixie and Dylan to ANYBODY else! She's seriously that good, y'all! (Very) Long story: I first met Rachael when my brand-new hubby left on his deployment to Afghanistan last July! As a lot of you can probably imagine, I was freaked out, super-sad, and totally overwhelmed with now having to handle everything in our big house that darling hubby *sobs* usually handled, including pool cleaning, lawn mowing, and dog walking! So, I did what anybody else would have done, and I took to Yelp and scoured the reviews to find a pool cleaner, a lawn mower, and, most importantly, a dog walker for the year! Our precious rescues, Dixie, a harrier hound, and Dylan, an Australian Shepherd, are leash-reactive and rather rambunctious on their best day! We can only truly drain their energy by heroic hubby flying his drone at Camp Mabry, as they chase it across the field for miles. That clearly wasn't going to be happening for a year because my drone-flying skills are very non-existent. Enter Rachael. She walked into our lives and literally changed everything! Our rowdy fur babies took to her immediately, I took to her immediately, and she immediately put a plan together! She was so calm, kind, professional, and competent that I relaxed right away. I just knew that we were in excellent hands! We decided on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday walks, and I handed over our house key without hesitation! Over the course of that deployment year and those thrice-weekly walks, Rachael not only morphed our silly pups into seriously-civilized pups, but she kept an eye on the house like a fierce Mama Bear, brought in Amazon Prime packages, watered plants, scooped poop, dumped the pool leaf basket, drove the pups to grooming and vet appointments, and just took care of anything that she saw that needed taking care of! Dix and Dyl both manifested missing their Daddy in different ways. Dylan, being pretty anxious and OCD, started licking his paws incessantly (Cone of Shame, anyone?), and Dixie, being a champion Houdini, started jumping the fence, and, after I put up fancy 8 foot fences to stop her, she started eating the fence. I honestly wouldn't have been able to maintain my sanity through all of that without Rachael! She worked side by side with me through ALL of that! To call her a lifesaver would be an understatement! So, as I write this, the year has finally ended, and my precious hubby has finally returned safely to me! Thank you, Baby Jesus! He's taken back over the pool cleaning duties and the lawn mowing duties, and we're back to drone-flying at Mabry with the happy pups, but do you know the one person whom we absolutely intend to hang onto from the deployment days? Rachael, of course! She's an indispensable part of our lives now! On top of the three walks a week, she takes care of them during hubby and my frequent romantic staycations, and she just worked hand in hand with our awesome neighbor to hold down the fort during our 8 day honeymoon in Cancun! She's grown her company in the course of this last year, and she has quite a dog-walking team now, but she hires impeccable people, and she keeps a SHARP eye on the whole operation! Everyone that works for her is top-notch! We trust Rachael COMPLETELY with our house and our pups, and y'all should, too! We will NEVER be without her! Thank you SO much for everything, Rachael! Rachel was so accommodating and was able to get my super shy dog to open up to her within a week! She also goes above and beyond, bringing in my mail and trash cans. She was amazing when one of my dogs got sick with diarrhea, cleaning up the mess (and the dog), giving me updates for the vet, giving pills, etc as directed, and even changing her schedule to help let my dog out more often. Her rates are reasonable and competitive in the market. I also was very happy that if she needed to have someone sub for her, she will schedule a one on one with me and that person first. I highly recommend Rachael and Ruff Life. My dogs have been super happy with her service and so am I.

My now-wife and I retained Pawstin for our wedding evening, during which they were tasked with bringing our dogs to our wedding venue to stand at the altar with us, and then take them back home for feeding and a walk afterwards (not to mention, be at the ready in case they needed a quick exit if being too rowdy!). As you can imagine, the day-of had potential to cause stress and plenty of potential mishaps, but Pawstin gave us the peace of mind that our fur-babies would be cared for before and after the ceremony. We were able to enjoy the festivities without a single worry, and were so incredibly happy that the dogs arrived with minimal stress (they are typically always a little wound up) and were able to sit calm and happy with us! Of special note is the importance to Pawstin in making sure that both you and your pups feel comfortable with them. The day before our wedding, the found a time that worked for both of us and stopped by for a few minutes to meet the babies and get a lay of the land. I think this is super important so that they are not meeting your babies for the first time when you aren't there. I cannot recommend them more highly, and would absolutely feel confident in recommending them to others or using them again ourselves when necessary! My experience with Care.com was Horrible! When I signed up for the 12-month plan for dog sitters,…read moreI was charged $140.59. This is the only fee I was aware that I'd be charged. On top of that amount, I was charged $194.85. When I contacted Care.com about this charge, they reported that I selected a background check on the caregivers initiating that fee. I would never knowingly have selected a background check on their caregivers if the cost of $194.85 would be added to the already $149.59 charge to my card. When I contacted them, they made a blanket statement that they don't offer any refunds. Somewhere in their supposed fine print is a 3 day cancellation policy,... something else you don't readily see or know you should do. On top of these fees, you still pay premium pricing for the actual service! I wasn't able to secure a sitter for the dates I needed. All I received from Care.com is a very large bill!! I would give Care.com a negative 10 as a review on their scamming policies towards their new clients!!!!! I have to rate this company for my review to post. It is not an accurate rating, it was below "not good" When you try and rate care.com, it pulls up Pawstin, not the same company I'm reviewing.

Kristen and David (one of Gusto's dog walkers, and really, like, the greatest guy) came out to my apartment to meet my dog and set up a game plan. Everything clicked. I wasn't worried about not being there for my dog, and even more important, my dog was happy. But it's been all of the extra stuff that really makes these guys the best. 1) They're pros. These are not neighborhood kids trying to make extra money over the summer. I have absolutely no incidents to speak of. My dog is safe and happy when he's with them. 2) They go out of their way to provide the best service. Whenever I've had to make a last-minute change in my schedule, they've ALWAYS found a way to work around it so they can be there when I need them, even going so far as to rearrange their own schedules. One weekend, my fiance and I had overlapping trips and neither of us would be home for a 24-hour period. Kristen and the team were ready with a plan for swinging by throughout the day, making sure our dogs were fed, taken out, played with, and then put to bed. Oh, and my fiance's dog -- a very big ridgeback mix -- had just undergone serious knee surgery and had a strict medication schedule. No sweat for these guys. When I got home, everyone was happy and healthy. 3) Speaking of my fiance... it actually took me a little while to convince him that it was worth it to get his dog out for the daily walks. He had gone two years without needing someone to take his dog out in the afternoon, why pay someone to start doing it now? But it only took a week for us to notice a difference. His dog is BIG and VERY energetic, but with a 20-30 minute walk in the middle of the day, he's much calmer when we get home from work. Still a big barrel of fun and energy, but not running laps around the coffee table. 4) (And last one, promise) Our dogs love these guys. Their reaction when David shows up is hilarious. It's like their super-fun uncle just got there to take them out. As a dog owner, it makes me really happy to see my dog so happy. So, like I said, the Gusto team is amazing. We plan on using their services as long as they're offered (hopefully, forever). Could not recommend more highly.

We have utilized their services frequently for giving food, medicine, and lots of attention to our cats when we travel. I know that my sweet (and very affectionate) elder cat is in great hands when we are away from home, and am especially comforted when texts and pictures are sent letting me know that everything is ok. Gusto Dogs even has a special little helper who loves to give plenty of gentle pets when she has the chance to visit. They are insured, reliable, trustworthy, and so compassionate about animal care. I never worry for a second when we are away from home.
