Our rescue pup typically gets anxious at most boarding places, but this is one of the few boarding places where he hasn't come home with anxiety induced GI issues. We actually started going here prior to the rebranding and the quality is still top notch even if we are paying a little bit more. We recently moved and Marley was having trouble holding commands with different owners and was leash reactive. The trainers made a point of having multiple trainers work with Marley and took her out on walks with and around other dogs. The trainers were very friendly, communicative and accommodating throughout the process. After the room and board we had a lesson where we got to spend time with the trainers and see what she had learned. We also have another lesson we can use where a trainer will come to our home to see how her training is progressing. Overall we had a positive experience with ATX K9 and are grateful for the trainers that worked with Marley.

I won't lie, part of me kind of doesn't want to write this or say…read moreanything because I don't want to have to fight for my baby to have a great place to stay, but also as a truly psycho pet parent...I know, I'll own it... this place made my heart so happy. This was my third or fourth (can't even remember the others were so traumatizing) doggy daycare to visit. This is the only one that didn't instantly hit me in the face with the smell of urine or wet dog...eww. Also, this one has amazing staff members that actually seem happy in their jobs, not just hating their lives and overwhelmed by dogs. BHV takes a completely different approach to daycare than the others I saw. They keep the dogs in play groups of no more than 8-10 dogs. Others literally got as high as 40! I had a baby anxiety attack just watching it on the monitors. They let the play groups go outside and run around for around 20 minutes and play really hard, then that group goes back to their individual dog set up, which is NOT a crate! It's this precious little white picket fence area where the fence is 4-5 feet tall...pending height of the animals (they have a room for big dogs and a room for small dogs). You bring your baby's bed, stuffed toys, snacks, whatever they need, they provide water bowls, food bowls, etc. There is a big screen TV in all of the rooms where your dog will be resting for some background noise so that they aren't freaked out by every new sound. If you use the normal space with the picket fences, your babies can still see their friends "across the way" so they know they're not alone. During the approximately 1 hr to 1.5 hrs that your dog will be in the white picket fence area resting, there is one staff member coming around a few times to let each dog out to run down the hall and say "hi" to all of it's friends and get a little energy out, if it wants. You can also actually board your animal here over night...they have many levels of quite nice spaces (a couple suites are nicer than my bedroom LOL). This review is not about that, as we only use them for daycare. My dog and others that I've witnessed get so excited when pulling into the parking lot. Drop offs have become "mom, get outta my way, love you bye, I have friends to see". They post pics of the dogs throughout the day on social media so you can see your baby having fun. My husband and I have quickly fallen in love with this place, the lovely "hoos" that run it and even the fellow parents. It just seems like everyone loves being a part of this place. I have zero guilt about leaving my kid here, as I know she is having tons of fun and comes home a tired baby.

I brought my dogs in to the canine center for a few classes and a private training. Today, our trainer said that to solve my GSD's reactivity on the leash, we just needed to stop letting her go to the dog park. Okay, that's fine to have the a stance about a dog park, but i expect some sort of guide or training if I'm paying for a private session; not just - "stop taking your dog to the dog park." That's not a cure-all. Giving us a scripted answer that the dog park is the root of all evil isn't particular helpful for the situation that we're currently in. Which is truly, she has already learned reactivity on the leash so * where do we go/what do we do from here. * My vet had recommended this place many times but fool me three times canine center! Maybe other trainers are better or a better fit, but I felt like I could have Googled and saved myself $100. Additionally - the website says their recess is their take on day care; the trainer told me it's only for puppies. Too many conflicting message here. This place isn't for me and my fur babies.

Initially I had a hard time coordinating with Lisa including canceled and delayed meet and greets and not receiving email docs needed until days later. I made it work because she had great reviews. It was a holiday weekend and I had to call my vet the morning of drop-off to get vax records for one of my two dogs, which I informed Lisa of. We agreed we'd chat in the morning around 9 to finalize details once I'd gotten the docs from the vet. She proceeded to send me multiple, essay-length emails that night between 4 and 6am about how she couldn't take Desi without docs and how she felt I didn't understand, and she couldn't "trust" me. She also accused me of not finalizing drop off or pickup details, which I had already discussed with her. Her messages were erratic and repetitive, and almost aggressive and condescending, referencing "boundaries and communication" while she was the one emailing me in the middle of the night! When she could've just called me the night before if she was so concerned. Even when I sent the records to her in the morning, she continued to berate me about her intake process over text, accusing me of not sending them even when I told her I did. I have had many sitters in various cities and never experienced anything like this. Thankfully a neighbor volunteered to watch them. Needless to say, this was all incredibly stressful the day of an important work trip. I was really astounded by this level of customer service as a former small business owner, and would never want to leave my dogs with someone like this.

Lots of room for them to play with other dogs and run around, inside and outside facilities to accommodate cold or heat, and they get to play most of the day apart from when they are closed for lunch ("nap time") or in the evening after 7pm. My only improvement recommendation is if they would consider doing a report card with photos each day, that would be awesome! I was able to text in and ask about the status of my dog though, and they were very responsive. We will be back!!! Had a great first visit and my dog was very excited when we reached the property, she recognized it from her evaluation day and basically ran over to the front door. My family does a lot of traveling and Cissy has helped ease the stress of worrying about our fur baby while we are away. We feel comfortable with a trusted friend coming into our home and trust Felix & Fido implicitly with our dog. We no longer have to stress when we travel. Taking our baby to a kennel is a HUGE inconvenience, for many reasons: 1.) Loud barking dogs stress her out 2.) She comes home depressed. 3.)
