Horrible New management!! I drove over 30 minutes expecting the deliciousness that this place once was :/ I was informed by one of the waitresses that this establishment has been under new management/owners for the last 7 weeks. I used to love coming here for their delicious authentic Peruvian food, not anymore. The food taste terrible and the service was extremely slow. My friend and I got our appetizers mid way eating our main dish. I ordered a seco de res and one of the meats was undercooked and the other piece was overcooked. How does that even happen? The restaurant formerly known as Aguaymanto has been updated as Peru 703, with a new look and a redesigned menu. I've been here 4 times and tried nearly a dozen items, and despite some quirks, the food is fantastic. Yes, as some point out the prices can appear to be high, but this is a nice restaurant and with the exception of lunch specials, everything -- even side salads -- seem big enough to serve two or more people. With the menu redesign, it's hard to figure out at a glance what I've ordered. Suffice to say the roast chicken is excellent -- some of the best I've had in the area -- but you should not limit yourself to chicken here. Highlights: The arroz chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) is rich and bright and flavorful and makes for an outstanding meal for 2 with chicken or seafood, or a great bargain $3.50 side dish. The parihuela (seafood soup) is a fabulous meal -- a huge bowl of fragrant seafood broth filled with tilapia, mussels, shrimp, squid, scallions and spices. If you're a steak lover, you will love the tacu tacu with salsa criolla (get it with a fried egg on top). The quinoa salad cake is a great starter and almost too beautiful to eat. Salads are enormous. The menu is big. Some of the dishes -- even seafood dishes -- have creamy sauces, so if that's not your thing there are plenty of options but be careful ordering. When in doubt, ask for a recommendation. The servers here know the food and love it, though some of them struggle with English. My main complaint about Peru 703 is that they have an identity crisis. The signals you get as a diner alternate between elegant dining and bargain ethnic eatery. Which is it? The food ranges from simple sandwiches, fries, chicken and $8 lunch specials to fancy and elegant preparations of seafood and steaks and wine and $17 bowls of soup. The refurbished dining room is decorated with lovely art and rich colors and a pretty new bar, BUT there are no drapes, carpet, or window coverings, and the loud music, vinyl-coated menus, jukebox, giant televisions and big photos of food in the window all send a downscale signal. When we stepped in we felt a little lost on if we grab our own table or wait for a host, then a lady with menus told us to grab any table , so we did . We sat for at least 10 minutes waiting for the menu till one of us had to get up and grab some from the counter . I came here with my fiance because I was craving my mother's Colombian cooking with Vietnamese flavor and although this is a Peruvian restaurant this dish came close! I ordered Lomo Saltado (heavy salted steak with red onions, cilantro, and tomatoes) with a Fried Egg and Chaufa (chinese fried rice) on the side and it was exactly what I was craving for. Our server Henry was so delightful and helped me order my meal catered to what I wanted. My fiance (who's Russian) had the Bistec a lo Pobre (steak with chimichurri sauce, rice, fries, and a fried egg. He enjoyed the light salted flavor and licked his plate clean, metaphorically speaking, of course! I also ordered a delicious drink called Maracuya which was a tropical passion fruit delight!! I came with a friend because we were in the mood for some ceviche, we ordered the fish ceviche. However, the ceviche wasn't good, you could taste the fish meaning it hadn't marinated long enough to be cooked by the sauce, you could feel the chewiness of the fish. We've had ceviche here and it has always been pretty good, but not this time. We also ordered the Jalea Mixta and the shrimp was very soft and bland, along with the calamari. Service was alright, not great not horrible, but probably won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

This was my first Peruvian experience. The food was okay. A bit on the cold side for my liking though. That tells me my food was left unattended on a counter for too long or it was pre-cooked for the lunch rush and left under a weak heat lamp. Either way, my dining experience was decent. I took my family this morning (3 August 2024) to eat breakfast and today was the first and last time I go to this restaurant. I ordered two criollo breakfast a lomito and a rostisserie chicken. The two breakfast and the lomito were fine but when the waitress brought me the rostisserie chicken. The chicken look like it was from the day before. I called the waitress and I told her, this chicken doesn't look like it's fresh at all. It looks like it was from days prior and she replied by saying "No sir, the chicken is from yesterday." What kind of service is this. I could not believe it. That they tried to sell me a chicken from a day before. I believe that they were disrespectful from their part to try to give me the chicken. Are they nuts? I do not recommend this restaurant at all. A day prior I spent like $80 and went this morning to get a breakfast with my family and I have this BS from their part never again. I spent $90 dollars but this is the last time that they will received anything from me. Please check your food before eating there. read more

If I could give negative starts I would. I've been a regular here for years and sadly it's been going downhill the last few years. Went with my family on a surprise Sunday off. Sat for 20 minutes before even being acknowledged. Another 10 before the server I waved down came back to ask us if we needed something. Had to ask 3 times for a high chair while holding a wriggling child. Ordered all of our food at once plus a drink. Never got the drink. Got our appetizer, had to ask for side plates and spoons so we could eat it. Maybe 15 minutes later, my dish comes out. 10 minutes later, my girlfriends. No sign of our childrens food. So we sit and wait as we're not about to eat before our children do. 10 minutes go by and a server comes by and asks us if we're missing anything. We tell her the kids food is still missing. She goes to the kitchen to look, and promptly forgets about us again. 10 minutes later we decided to just leave, which we do. Get this: nobody even looked our way while we left. Meanwhile, the 4 tables that came in after us all have their drinks and food. I honestly can't believe how awful this experience was. I'm Peruvian. I love Peruvian food. We've been coming here for years, so much so that we were regulars for one summer a few years back. The knew our order the moment we walked in. Now? They're definitely not getting our service ever again. Have fun comping that meal, I should've flipped it over on your table. Maybe then you'd have given us some service. read more

I've been a regular customer of Peru 703 (formerly known as Aguaymanto) for years. The minute I heard Peru 703 was reopening for the first time in seven months, I was filled with joy and excitement. However, my joy and excitement were met with sadness and disappointment the minute I walked in this weekend and saw that the none of the regular employees worked there anymore. Everyone was literally new. I understand this isn't the new owner's fault and no one is going to wait seven months for their job to open back up again, but it still hit because they always treated us like the family. Now let's get into the food. Whole menu completely changed. Even the chef (Don Pedro) isn't there anymore. I ordered a Leche de Tigre, which was one of my favorite things in the menu. It was completely different. There is no more fried calamari in it. There were barely any red onions. And lastly, there was seaweed on it. Really? Seaweed? Seaweed has a strong odor and even though I removed all of it, it still left the ceviche stinking like seaweed. If you like seaweed, great, but I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that this isn't something most people prefer to have on their ceviche. In addition, I was not given a lime with my Corona. My dad was not given a straw with the chicha morada. We were not even given canchita. I had to ask for it. I understand if that has to do with COVID, but you should at least offer. I really miss what Peru 703 used to be. Also, I ordered the Parrilada a lo Pobre, but I was never asked how I wanted my steak cooked. I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant and have been so disappointed. Unrelated to the food, but old Peru 703 used to play Peruvian channels on its TVs. The new Peru 703 unfortunately does not do that. If you were to scroll down, you'd see that I had given this place 5 stars before because of how great it used to be. I'm giving it 2 stars now and that's being generous. I'm cautiously optimistic that as this place picks up the pace, it will improve. read more

This place is tucked away in a strip mall. I was excited to eat here, the restaurant gives off good authentic vibes! The menu is nice and big, a little bit pricey compared to other Peruvian restaurants. A couple of employees greeted us and were very friendly. I ordered the Causa de Pollo appetizer, leche de tigre and the anticuchos (beef heart skewers with potato and corn) (yes, all three for me! Lol. I might look small but my eyes are big!) I got the anticuchos first, even though the other two were the appetizers. They were good, they gave almost no corn though, lol... and I had to request them to be cooked longer as they were pretty bloody... I can't stand bloody meat! The leche de tigre was excellent! Just wish they served it with canchas or choclo. And last the causa, it was just okay. Needed salt, but anyway I enjoyed everything overall. Husband got the Peru 703 which is a portion of chaufa, Ceviche de pescado, quarter dark meat, and one anticucho skewer-- all for $21! That's a great deal for all that food and a perfect combination for anyone who loves Peruvian food! He loved everything! We also added on a side of yuca and plantains to eat with the yellow sauce and it was super yummy! We left feeling full and satisfied! read more

Amazing Peruvian Restaurant!! We went during anticuchos & picarones Fest and they were delicious! We also order Jalea mixta, which was crispy and fresh seafood, on point! The best dish was Mar y Tierra (Surf& turf) with Ajillo sauce (garlic base) and we got it medium rare. It literally fall apart when we had a bite!! Their pisco sour was tasty as well. This place is a hidden jewel! The menu is extensive and the Peruvian Cusine, which I had never before experienced, was wonderful. The portions were generous and everyone in our party took home leftovers. I had Cheviche which was the best I had ever tasted. Our group ordered a flight of Pisco, which I thought would be fish but turned out to be the Peruvian equivalent of a Margarita and Whiskey Sour with various tropical flavors set off by cinnamon. Terrible customer service! We drove around an hour to get there for a small family get together. Once there our server, Henry (I hope you don't get him!) was rude to us off the bat. Had no patience for us or our family members.... we felt like we were in some sort of military bootcamp (Parris Island to be exact). And! Our food took forever to come out... we understand that there were quite a few people at the restaurant at the time.... but Henry kept pressuring us to order the food but it took forever to come out?! Me and my husband were there today for dinner the food was awful. We ordered two chicken milanesas . The chicken was hard and rubbery. When we call our waitress over to let her know we were not happy with the quality of the chicken she told us that is how it is cooked that everything was ok. We told her that we've have it before and it has never been like that. She said she would talk to chef but she never came back. Or brought a manager to talk to us . We called again to ask about it and she only replied are you ready for the check? So we basically paid $ 50.00 for for a cup of rice , a small salad and French fries since we did not eat the rubbery chicken. We are never coming back here again. Came into town for work and was exploring the area. I always like to try new and different cuisines and I was so happy to step into my first Peruvian restaurant ever Peru 703. I came in for an early dinner at 6pm the restaurant was empty so I can't say how the restaurant deals with full capacity... I can't really remember the name of the food I ordered but it was a salad with feta cheese and mixed greens, beef empanada, beef dish with a lot of grilled vegetables Nd local potato dish. Everything came quick and fresh. That food was full with flavors and although I never tried the Peruvian cuisine I'm sure this restaurant take it to the next level! The staff is very nice and courteous always smiling and try to fulfill everything you ask. There is a bit of a language block so it was helpful that I know 3 words in Spanish Lol ! At last a good and authentic Peruvian restaurant near Fairfax City, in the city of Chantilly! Peru 703 was awesome. They have excellent Pisco Sours (the national drink of Peru) and typical Peruvian drinks, such as Inka Kola, Chicha Morada, and Maracuya juice. The ambiance was very nice, casual and friendly, with Peruvian decorations. We loved that they were playing a diversity of Peruvian and South American music. Our waiter, Enrique, was very courteous and helpful. We noticed that all the waiters were Peruvian, which made the restaurant even more authentic. As appetizers, we tried the "Anticuchos" (grilled meat pieces on skewers) and they were delicious. The "Papa a la Huancaina" (cooked potatoes and topped with a cheese and Peruvian peppers cream) and the "Papa Rellena" (a deep fried stuffed potatoe pastry) and they were very well prepared too. They all came with hot Peruvian pepper sauces, very spicy and tasty as in Peru. As main dishes we had the "Tallarines" (noodles); the "Lomo Saltado" (Filet Minon sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and spices); the "Chupe de Camarones" (a typical Peruvian shrimp chowder) and everything was very tasty and nicely presented. Very important for us, the food was not too greasy nor salty, just very flavorful. We didn't get to try the desserts because all the food was so good, that we ate too much this time. But we are definitely going back. There are several other authentic dishes we want to try, and also we want to try the desserts sometime. We recommend this new restaurant. If they keep the good quality and flavor, we will be customers for many years to come. read more

Basically: This is my go-to Peruvian RESTAURANT in Centreville (not go-to polleria). All the Peruvian dishes here I've tried are fantastic. The papa rellena is a delicious appetizer. All the pisco drinks are amazing. Nice environment, friendly service. I just tried the pollo for the first time. The portions were some of the biggest I've seen, however the chicken, as others have commented, is rotisserie, NOT Peruvian. No Peruvian flavor found in this chicken. That being said, it's good, filling and cheap. The green sauce is actually some of the best I've had, so it kind of makes up for the chickens lack of flavor. But if you're coming here, get pisco and a Peruvian dish, skip on the pollo. Highly recommend this place though. read more
