We used to order online since they opened but they took away the ability to do so for the Hunters Woods location for some reason. I have ordered thru ubereats few times and it was good but then they started to send wrong orders. I complained with ubereats and they said they can't do anything about it. They are making money off it and I'm getting wrong orders. Ubereats customer service sucks. I even called the restaurant and customer services sucks. Food isn't good as before. Got the Lomo Saltado here and it was awful. The meat was tough and stringy with no flavor. There was no cilantro harmed in the making of this dish. I don't think they used aji amarillo or even a substitute. It really just tasted like onions and tomatoes, with maybe a dash of soy sauce? If I was making this I'd add green onions, cook it in smaller batches, or use a bigger pan, and then try adding aji amarillo or some type of sub. Would not recommend. read more

Came home this weekend to find that a king pollo opened up right across the street from home! My dad and I walked in today to check it out and we found the food to be outstanding! As a Peruvian I love the el Salvadoran dish "pupusas" so I'm very happy I have king pollo walking distance! They have maracuya drink and alfajores (dessert) which are my favorites! I would give it 5 stars but I'm still waiting for them to add anticuchos ;) I think a Peruvian/ el Salvadoran restaurant is a great addition to hunters woods shopping center and am definitely to going back! read more

The best are potato salad and fried rice. The beans and rice is OK, the green beans is good, haven't had the others. For about $16 you get two large-portion sides and a whole chicken. But the sides are so good, I prefer to get 2 of the 1/4 dark meat meals, which also come with two sides - that's $14 for half a chicken and four huge sides. This is our go-to for last-minute takeout when we're really hungry and don't feel like cooking dinner. So glad this is an option in north Reston. We used to have to drive all the way to Herndon for Peruvian chicken and would always get stuck in rush hour traffic on the way home for dinner. Our regular order (for 2 adults) is the 1/2 chicken meal with all dark meat. Our favorite sides are the potato salad (I never I had warm potato salad-shaped hole in my heart, but this place sold me on it), green beans and plantains. While I always hope for a better batch, unfortunately the yucca fries have always been dry and not super great. Highly recommend the Tamales de Pollo. It's under the dessert section on the online ordering menu, for some reason, but it definitely is not sweet. My picky 4YO LOVES the tamales from here. read more

I have tried the King Pollo on Route 50 and not been impressed - it's filthy and the food is not so good. So with the recent opening of the Reston branch, I initially resisted. I gave in and decided to have dinner there the other night. King Pollo Reston is good Peruvian chicken. The side dishes are good. It is very inexpensive. Saw the reviews online and decided to give it a try. Walked in and there were flies on the food. Like multiple flies hanging out on the mashed potatoes. Also, the chicken was pre cut just sitting in a warmer...I imagine that if I would have ordered that it would have been very dry. Fantastic chicken!! I've eaten here about 4 times now and the chicken is always exactly the same.... moist, tender, perfectly seasoned. Their plantains are also great. Been here a few times with mixed results. The chicken is excellent, and the sides are alright... if not mostly overlooked. The first time in the restaurant was great, and service was terrific. I think that had something to do with the Asian lady working the register. Since then, I have returned a few times with unexpected waits in line in upwards of 10 minutes with no explanation whey we are waiting other than to watch the people in back cooking. My new favorite Peruvian chicken place - better than Waku in Herndon, and Pollo Rico in Arlington mostly because of the sides that are really good - and they offer about 10 different options. Get the potato salad! It's heated and not cold, but delicious.
