Been wanting to try this place for sometime now and saw that there was an opening for Friday night at 7pm and made reservations. I got there a bit early and was seated right away. Initially, I was only going to get three items, but decided on the tasting menu. Food was aesthetically, pleasing, and tasty. My server was very knowledgeable with explaining the dishes. All the dishes came out in a timely order. Favorite bite of the night was the fig and foie. I'll be back to try their pasta dishes.

Came here for our anniversary - it's our second time. Love being able to sit and look into the open kitchen. My husband can't have anything cooked with alcohol and our waiter was so great about double checking everything we ordered with the kitchen. What's also amazing is that the bar can recreate any cocktail w/ zero proof spirits. They are amazing. The food - as always was delicious and interesting and always seasonal. For a place that's so upscale the vibe is always comfortable. I think our waiter happened to overhear it was our anniversary and when dessert came out we saw the little chocolate on it wishing us a happy anniversary. It's the little touches that matter.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Extremely impressed with their honey nut squash soup with Parmesan emulsion and the black spaghetti with bottarga di muggine. I also had the pumpkin gnocchi with Maitake mushrooms, turnip, parsnip and sage but would not recommend as highly. Great Old Fashioned. They have a new menu everyday but the black spaghetti is apparently a regular feature. Service was okay but could have been more proactive about refilling our waters. Cute art and overall nice atmosphere that was conducive to catching up with my friend. Loved that they didn't rush us and we enjoyed four courses over three hours. Time flies! This place is pricer than many others in the area but great cuisine and chill atmosphere. Looking forward to returning here!

Pleasant space at once old and new (like me!) that is a great place for a date. The sourdough, Rhode Island oyster with sea urchin. Hokkaido sea scallops, foie gras, agnolotti and orange honey tart were all amazing. Next time I'll pass on the strip loin which was okay but not at the level of the other dishes. My favorite place in Providence

Julia was such a great server! For our first time she was super chill, made great recommendations and didn't make us feel foolish for not having been before or knowing to order plates to share. I wish I had gotten pictures of our app (oysters were the best I have ever had). And my sloe gin fizz was refreshing. We split a pasta dish with scallops - and I really enjoyed the scallops. They melt in your mouth. My mother had the duck and I had the beef. It was perfectly prepared. For dessert we shared the chocolate tart and the apple cake with rosemary ice cream. My mom preferred the apple cake - and I'll agree that the ice cream was top notch but overall I'd go for the chocolate again. The restaurant is set up in such a nice way that each section feels intimate and cozy. Where I sat I could see the kitchen and the food prep which I always enjoy. There's something so cool about a well run kitchen and watching people put the final touches on the dishes as they come out always interests me, there was clearly a level of care being put out. It was a pricy night out - so it's a treat for sure. I'd like to go back and sit at the bar and get one of their tartare dishes sometime.

We were pleasantly surprised to get walk-in seating on a Saturday night. The service was friendly and attentive. However, the food took a bit longer to arrive than we had hoped. I found the portion sizes to be small; I ordered the agnolotti and only received six pieces. On the other hand, the salmon was very tasty. The restaurant has plenty of seating available with nice windows and pretty furniture.

Really nice date night spot or a spot to catch up with friends. Ambiance is nice and warm. The staff were very accommodating and friendly as well. The food wassss, well it was just okay, but not everything. We felt like everything was over seasoned and couldn't really take many bites of the lobster risotto. The lobster tasted chewy and raw. The cheese in it was also very over powering. I wouldn't be opposed to going back, but idk there would have to be a very good reason to. I want to give this review 4 stars, but seemed more of a 3.5 only because of the food.

Top 3 restaurant in Providence. Book reservations in advance, they are always busy. Never really have any complaints here other than the way your clothes smell when you leave - the open kitchen is cool to watch and worth it though. The bolognese and squid ink pasta are always a must. The foie gras always great, especially the one they served w/ cornbread. Drool. Duck dishes are nice and crispy and the other meats are always succulent. TIP: It's pricey here but worth it. You will not get massive portions- two of us usually get 1-2 apps, 2 pastas and a 1 meat entree each and it's enough + their delicious desserts.

Have been 3-4 times now and I've never left disappointed. The food is always so well prepared and stunning. The servers are very knowledgeable and give great recommendations, bartenders are very friendly, and the atmosphere is very classy. Perfect for a date night

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Providence. Phenomenal, well balanced dishes. Great espresso martinis, great ambiance. The deviled eggs are to die for.

Very yummy and great service. Wish the portions were a little larger. We had a party of four. We shared the croquettas for an appetizer and then each got a pasta dish. One person also ordered a salad. I feel like we should have maybe gotten a meat dish to share as well as the pastas. We also ordered 3 desserts. Delicious food, but definitely no leftovers. I want to return and try their famous black spaghetti.

Simply outstanding! As a typical Rhode Islander, I avoided driving out of my normal radius and never visited Persimmon when it was located in Bristol. Now that it's in Providence, I was so excited to try it and can't believe I waited so long to do so. It was one of my favorite food experiences in a long while. Our server was helpful but laidback and low key (the perfect balance). I really enjoyed the Don Johnson cocktail and would get it again and again on future visits. We sampled several items to share, including a grilled cucumber salad, shishito peppers, and braised greens croquettas. Each of these items was incredible. They were all so different yet each was perfectly balanced in flavor and texture. We couldn't find a single flaw. Each of us selected a pasta entree. My friend loved her black spaghetti and I loved my agnolotti. Again, the dishes were flawless. Finally, the summer-inspired Paris Brest was the perfect culmination to this incredible meal. Now that I've finally discovered the absolute joy that is dining at Persimmon, I can't wait to come back!

A few weeks ago we returned to dine here with friends from out of town. It's one of our favorite restaurants in Providence. The place, the food and the staff , Andrew R - are very welcoming. We ordered a range of food and drinks, starting with a margarita, Tullemore Dew, cardinal Sin and the curiously named penicillin. For food we shared deviled eggs, croquettes, and a salad. Followed by black spaghetti, lasagna, chicken and duck. We had a bottle of Pinot Noir. And ended with a tasty chocolate tart. One of the very few 5-star places in the city. Although an expensive meal ($80/head) it was worth it.

Every single dish hit hard, the stuffed quahogs packed with flavor, the sushi was fresh, and the full lobster stuffed with shrimp, scallops, and crab stuffing is a must order. That dish alone is worth the trip. Not one thing on the table was a disappointment. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely worth it. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful both inside and out, and the atmosphere really sets the tone for a great dining experience. The menu also looked fantastic with a lot of appealing options. I ended up ordering the baked shrimp, which came with seasoned potatoes and string beans. Unfortunately, the dish didn't quite meet expectations. The potatoes were described as seasoned, but leaned more toward a Cajun-style flavor, which wasn't what I was expecting. The string beans were also quite undercooked. For a $29 dish at a fine dining restaurant, I was hoping for a more polished meal. That said, the service was good, and the ambiance truly stands out as a highlight. Overall, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the food, but I would consider giving it another try if I'm back in town, as the setting alone makes it worth revisiting.

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Exceptional circumstances aside, this restaurant is also exceptional when it comes to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Providence!

Review is for puffcake popup, not seafood…read more Been seeing these viral puff cakes on my socials for a minute and decided to finally try them for myself. Making a reservation online was easy peasy and so was parking since it was a Sunday and free :) Immediately greeted and seated for our reservation. Our server Destiny was prompt, friendly and energetic. All the staff were kind and friendly to be honest. We started out with some nifty lattes and a chocolate bomb hot cocoa that was as entertaining as it was delicious. Then came the puff cakes. The s'mores had a liquid chocolate topping that flowed like lava. The strawberry was smothered in custard and berries, and the plain were as advertised. Even though the smothered versions aren't quite as healthy, the toppings helped add some needed flavor. The light and airy risen puff cake by itself is a bit plain just like a regular plain pancake would be and just need a little something to add some flavor; even if it's just some maple syrup. I will add that the custard and chocolate topping by themselves were really tasty. All in all it was a wonderful experience that I look forward to trying again in the future!

Usually this place is cajun seafood boil place so this review will only cover their Japanese pancake offering. It's a restaurant located on federal hill. Parking can be difficult to find but we were able to find some parkings on the street beside the restaurant. They have covered patio and inside is rather smaller area with some seatings, counter and a bar. They seem to be busy so we did have our reservation which we made about hour prior to coming to the location. I would recommend for those that want to come here. Once we arrived we were immediately sat down and looked through their menu. They offer variety of Japanese fluffy pancake paired with sweets and fruits or savory option as well. They offer some drinks mainly lattes and juice. I ended up getting the breakfast scramble pancake and hot cocoa bomb. Food came out first. The breakfast came with 2 fluffy pancake, scrambled eggs with scallions, home fries, sausage, onions, and maple syrup. The pancake was fluffy and paired well with the sides. I feel like though something like hollandaise sauce would have taken the dish up a notch instead of just simple maple syrup. The hot cocoa bomb was interesting as you get the cup with marshmallow rim and a chocolate ball where you pour hot milk yo melt and mix the chocolate. Conceptually fun but chocolate wasn't great quality and didn't mix well and marshmallow rim was hard to eat. Taste was ok it ended up tasting like light chocolate and more milk since chocolate didn't mix well. Service was good and staffs were nice. The order came out in about 5-10 minutes Overall I think the place is ok. Definitely has its own place in RI because of the Japanese pancake offering which we don't see a-lot of place do yet. But aside from that food was ok and price was expensive for what they offer. I ended up paying about $80 for 2 pancake and drinks. I had Japanese fluffy pancake and drinks for about half of that price in Japan that was better quality. If you want Japanese fluffy pancake and can't make it yourself this is the place at least for now.
