    Nicoise Salad and Immunity Boost

We recently ordered lunch for a work function and had everything delivered. Each lunch was individually wrapped and labeled by person so it was very convenient and easy to distribute. We were very happy with the service and all of the salads, wraps, and yogurt bowls were delicious. Waylaid Fresh has some delicious dressing options and are able to customize menu items so everyone can have exactly what they like. They also have gluten free and vegan options which made it very easy to accommodate everyone in our group.

Hubby and I received a gift card to Wayland Fresh so we popped over to see what they offer. We got there right as they were switching over to lunch but we really wanted to try one of their breakfast items. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us. We ordered two breakfast wraps to eat there and two salads to go. We both opted for The Specialty Wake-Up Wrap: Grilled Carne Asada, Eggs, Avocados, Cheddar Cheese & Roasted Red Peppers on a Tomato Wrap. Hearty and delicious! Hubby selected the Mediterranean Salad - Arugula, Chickpeas, Red Onions, Cucumbers, Kalamata Olives, Roasted Red Peppers, Feta Cheese and served with Oat Milk Italian dressing. He devoured it and really enjoyed the salad dressing. I opted for the Emperor's Salad - Power Lettuce, Emperor's Rice, Cucumbers, Shredded Red Cabbage, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Chickpeas, Mandarin Oranges and served with Sesame and Ginger dressing. For me, it was large enough to split into two lunch portions. I really enjoyed the black rice (next time, I'll ask for a second scoop!) and roasted sweet potatoes, I could have done without the mandarin oranges but I can totally see how it fits in the profile of sweet and savory. I added a little rice wine vinegar to the Sesame and Ginger dressing to thin it out a bit and take out a little of the sweetness. Each salad was $11 which is a great price for what you get! The staff was really nice and the space was clean.

When I first saw the menu I wasn't super interested in much. This was a group order through work...I ordered a salad with steak on it. It advertised the lettuce would be romaine but it was mostly the yellow bitter bits of the romaine...To be honest it is so unappetizing to look at that I most likely wont even eat it. When I went to pick up the food EVERYONE was complaining about the poor quality of the salads and the laughable size of the sandwiches. $18.00 was an insane waste of $ for this salad....The company won't order from here again and I would avoid it next time if they did.

Woke up on a Monday morning feeling under the weather. Ordered the Green goodness smoothie, an immunity boost shot, and the essential wrap. Everything was fresh and delicious. The star of the show is definitely the agave and jalapeno vinaigrette that came with the wrap- it was stellar! Highly recommend!

So healthy and tasty. Plenty of options to choose from at wayland fresh. Tasty salads with plenty of toppings, açaí, yogurt, wraps and smoothies. Everyone will be happy. Ingredients taste fresh and healthy! Personally loved our create our own salads.

    Buenos Días Bowl

Put all of the prepared ingredients in a bowl in front of me before heading to the back to microwave the contents. Small serving size for $8, but it's not like I was wanting more after tasting a few bites. Picante salsa on the side is definitely straight out of a jar. If you want fresh, tasty food, this is NOT your place!

We went on a Tuesday evening and part of the restaurant was closed/inaccessible (top part). We were seated on the main floor. The food was really good and so were the appetizers we got. Offerings from those restaurants can now be found on the ground floor at the more casual counter-order space). Yesterday I went for an early dinner with two other vegan friends and we had a great time sampling their beautiful, creative dishes. Here's what we got: 1. Ceviche: watermelon, radish, hearts of palm, tapioca, lemon verbena, taro, lotus root chips. Beautiful, flavorful, and a refreshing start to the meal. I actually wish there was more of a citrus kick to this dish but it was still very enjoyable. 2. Arancini: wild mushroom, cashew butter, truffle, lemon aioli. The lemon aioli + crispy arancini was delightful and this was the perfect app to share (came with 6 small arancini). 3. Tapioca pearl chicharrón with wasabi and spicy mayo. Wow this thing looked wild, like a piece of coral! Loved the crispiness esp. paired with the wasabi (with the caveat that the tapioca will stick to your teeth) 4. For drinks, I got a strawberry soda mocktail which was quite nice. 5. Steak: made with Chunk Foods, with asparagus, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and au jus. This was such a hearty dish and the vegan steak was wild!! Super umami with a shreddy texture, I think meat lovers would really enjoy this dish. 6. Ravioli: corn, chanterelle mushrooms, macadamia ricotta, cashew butter, asparagus. I thought this would be my favorite dish of the night since I am a huge pasta lover, but while it was yummy, it wasn't a total hit for me (the pasta was on the overcooked side and the dish would have benefited from more textural contrast). Our server was friendly and attentive and everything came out quickly. The corner booths by the window overlooking the river are the best spots, especially as the rest of the restaurant is quite dark (in an aesthetic, chic kind of way). Highly recommend for a great vegan dining experience in Providence!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

Chomp is one of those Providence restaurants that I keep finding myself coming back to, even after…read moretelling myself I should probably try something else on the menu. I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

We both ordered the Classic Smash Burger, one with cheese and one without. Unfortunately, both burgers were utterly tasteless, with virtually no seasoning detected at all. The Chomp Sauce that was supposed to elevate the burger was so sparse it barely made an appearance, leaving the burgers bland. Honestly, the bun was the best part. The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. We may have caught them on an unusually busy night, but unfortunately our meals fell far short of our expectations.
