Today, 1/30, I called to ask about ordering ahead and they told me that they actually decided to stop offering this deal early, despite the listed end date being tomorrow. I feel like if you go out of your way to try to appear supportive of a community, you don't get to pull out halfway through. It's really expensive to eat here otherwise, it's like $18 for a pizza, and it's usually a little burnt. I think Antonio's does pizza better and certainly does it cheaper.

Yesterday I went for an early dinner with two other vegan friends and we had a great time sampling their beautiful, creative dishes. Here's what we got: 1. Ceviche: watermelon, radish, hearts of palm, tapioca, lemon verbena, taro, lotus root chips. Beautiful, flavorful, and a refreshing start to the meal. I actually wish there was more of a citrus kick to this dish but it was still very enjoyable. 2. Arancini: wild mushroom, cashew butter, truffle, lemon aioli. The lemon aioli + crispy arancini was delightful and this was the perfect app to share (came with 6 small arancini). 3. Tapioca pearl chicharrón with wasabi and spicy mayo. Wow this thing looked wild, like a piece of coral! Loved the crispiness esp. paired with the wasabi (with the caveat that the tapioca will stick to your teeth) 4. For drinks, I got a strawberry soda mocktail which was quite nice. 5. Steak: made with Chunk Foods, with asparagus, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and au jus. This was such a hearty dish and the vegan steak was wild!! Super umami with a shreddy texture, I think meat lovers would really enjoy this dish. 6. Ravioli: corn, chanterelle mushrooms, macadamia ricotta, cashew butter, asparagus. I thought this would be my favorite dish of the night since I am a huge pasta lover, but while it was yummy, it wasn't a total hit for me (the pasta was on the overcooked side and the dish would have benefited from more textural contrast). Our server was friendly and attentive and everything came out quickly. The corner booths by the window overlooking the river are the best spots, especially as the rest of the restaurant is quite dark (in an aesthetic, chic kind of way). The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

We both ordered the Classic Smash Burger, one with cheese and one without. Unfortunately, both burgers were utterly tasteless, with virtually no seasoning detected at all. The Chomp Sauce that was supposed to elevate the burger was so sparse it barely made an appearance, leaving the burgers bland. Honestly, the bun was the best part. The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. We may have caught them on an unusually busy night, but unfortunately our meals fell far short of our expectations.
