    Failing liner lock

Office staff was very unorganized and communication was non-existent. Owner knows this and gave me his direct line because I refused to communicate with his office staff last fall. We only used them because last summer we were planning to rent out our house for two months and the big draw in a Redding summer is the pool. We noticed a 4-6 inch tear in a corner of the shallow end. They were the only company that said they could do a patch before the time when we were going to rent out the house. It came with a caveat that we pay $1,000 down payment and in September have them install a new pool liner. The "patch" was 3 strips of gorilla tape that didn't even cover the whole tear. Pretty pathetic. That was in early June 2023. Did not hear anything from them until workers showed up to our house mid September to drain our pool. 3 months of silence and no communication on dates/times. Then my father-in-law asks a question about a bulge in the side of the pool towards the deep end and the office manager calls off the whole team. Literally shuts down the entire project because she was so frustrated and confused. Bizarre. Owner leaves my wife an angry voicemail (I've told him that his office needs to lose my wife's number and only deal with me). I call him back and he sincerely apologizes for his voicemail and for his office manager's unprofessionalism and mistake. Liner gets put in, we swim a few weeks then winter. Swim a few weeks this spring and the liner lock starts falling in to the pool. I email pics to the office and get a condescending call from the owner that this is perfectly natural and just put it back in place. I naturally thought for $9,000 I wouldn't have to be fixing anything they did after a few weeks of swimming. Sent another text saying if it is so easy have one of your guys come fix it. In response the office calls my wife (did not lose her number) but I was there and the lady (different one then last summer, thank goodness) says that's not under warranty and it's $95...for probably a 3 minute job. I leave owner a vm with no response. Call a few more times and after a heated discussion he says that's only for filling the pool and not necessary anymore. Bang it back in to place, cut it, remove it because it doesn't matter. Odd that didn't come up during the installation or multiple phone calls and texts. So still seems kind of weird to not care about the delivered product once payment is received. Doesn't seem to be a desire to stand by their product. Almost all interactions over the past year were condescending on their part (like the installer's response when I raised an eyebrow to the overall cost...shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well a pool is a luxury item.") Definitely would not recommend. Oh, some reviews are about weekly pool service. I did that for a few weeks after the new liner was installed. Sometimes tech was there less than 5 minutes and we received zero communication on what was done. Just a bill. I asked for what was done and was promised in the future customers will receive that. Cancelled quickly and now do maintenance myself for a fraction of the cost, full transparency and zero condescending conversations!

Before Tile has been added. The rocks were all calcified. They no longer could be cleaned.

I have a pool where the Pebbletec was installed to where it met the deck. The Pebbletec started popping out within 6 months of having the pool built - but we lived with it for over 20 years! I tried getting someone to help me with this problem for at least 5 years, no one seemed to be interested in revamps! - then I got a card in the mail from Perfect Pool & Spa. Chris James showed up on time, was very easy to work with and I got ideas of what could be done. He then brought his "Ace" Tile installer, Darrin, in for a consult. In a simple word, Darrin is the BEST. He showed up on time, was extremely pleasant to work with, had great ideas and suggestions (never pushy) He was so great, that I am going to work with him on other projects. I do want to note that I was a bit hesitant on using Perfect Pool & Spa after reading the reviews. After meeting Chris and Darrin, however, I felt like they were good people and went with my gut - and I am so happy that I did! Unfortunately, I can't find a lot of my before photos - hopefully this will show how great this works - its even better in person! This spring we are revamping the deck.

Ryan, Thank you so much for the excellent service you have done in maintaining our spa! It's great to know we are well taken care of!

My pool I was told there's nothing wrong with.

We had a second company sent out by home warranty company. Immediately they recognized sand coming out of filter into the pool and also out the backwash section. Upon further inspection most of the sand from the filter had been emptying into our pool. After being called a "liar" by Perfect Pools and having a second company immediately recognizing there was an issue was the topper to the kind of business this is. Please stay away as their unprofessionalism will not benefit the customer in any way.

Justin responded within minutes and after speaking briefly on the phone setup an appointment for a tech to come to my home in red bluff two days later. Trent arrived Wednesday morning ready to tackle the problem. He spent an hour patiently troubleshooting all possibilities. He was competent and thorough. He didn't mind me hovering a bit so as to learn what I could while he worked. He took the time check each different component as they kept checking out OK. He could have gave up and tried shotgunning parts I guess but didn't. Eventually, using a pressure manometer he found the incoming gas pressure was too low to initiate firing up (Even though you could smell the gas when it tried to fire up). Walking back to the side of house near the PGE gas meter we found a second shut-off valve (there is a shut-off valve at the heater) that had PARTIALLY gotten turned. Problem solved. After years of ill-feelings from my experience with pool contractors in general it was great to find Executive Pool & Spa. Promptness, knowledge, integrity, courtesy all get an A+ from me.

This was making it difficult to keep the pool clear, which makes sense. But I had no idea the pump was shutting off. If he had called me to ask me about this, maybe we could have realized there was a malfunction or something else. And we could have fixed it. But instead, service was cancelled with no warning. And there was multiple weeks in a row without services, prior to informing me he had stop showing up. (I was out of town for 2 weeks, when he decided to stop showing up). So by the time I got his notification that service was cancelled, it was too late. The pool had started to turn green. Really really poor communication. Now I have to pay to have someone else de-green the pool in the middle of pool season. At least now I know the pool pump is broken, and hopefully I can find someone that is willing to fix it, instead of just passive aggressively "blaming" me for turning it off during the week, when that is simply not the case.
