They have so many brand choices for the frame. I have been helped by Samantha, she is so patient helping me to choose the frame that looks good for me. They have different kind of lenses too that I didn't see at other store. read more

Simply awesome. I brought in an old pair of glasses with an old prescription and scratched lenses. Quickly and painlessly, they went over my options, confirmed that the pupillary distance on my Costco prescription was accurate, quoted me a reasonable price, didn't try to up-sell me any fancy stuff, and got them back in less than a week. Easy! Bonus: While discussing my options, they adjusted my crappy pair of $39 online coke bottles so that they stopped slipping off my face when I looked down. Magicians! I'd strongly recommend these fine folks to anyone in need of good glasses and excellent service! read more

I took my dad here to get a pair of glasses and I could not be happier with the service! Julie went above and beyond to help him get a pair that he liked and fit him. She even repaired his old broken glasses for him. Everyone was exceptionally helpful and friendly. As an orthodontist with a great team at my office that takes pride in helping others and having fun doing it, I can see that here with these wonderful ladies. They really make you feel welcome! I will definitely be coming here and highly recommend this place. read more

The Doctor and staff are amazing! They made getting an eye exam easy, quick and fun. I went in during my lunch break and was in and out in no time. I appreciate the strict implementation of their COVID 19 safety measures keeping their patients safe. Great experience, professional staff, and great selection of eye wear. I switched to Perfect Pair last year after reading great reviews, and they live up to it. Both doctors are kind and patient. Front desk staff are friendly and professional. Couldn't ask for more. read more

Found Perfect Pair while browsing for an optometrist to upgrade my prescription that was 3 years overdue. This place is tucked away in a small plaza hidden away from big roads, but it's definitely worth finding. First of, they offer extended office hours, which is really convenient to stop by after work. Making an appointment is very easy. I made an appointment for myself and two kids (ages 4 and 2) and they even squeezed in my husband with no notice, at the end of their day too. Everyone, from the doctors to the staff are very professional. I was kind of worried about how the kids would do, but they were great with them and didn't mind them acting like kids. Dr. Brian is very patient and thorough. Having worn glasses for almost 20 years, I had my share of eye exams, yet I felt like this was the first time that a doctor took his time to give me a comprehensive exam and explain everything. He did so for each of my family members too. He didn't rush my kids or skip any tests. Though at first it looks like their selection of glasses is limited, they actually offer a good variety. They could also order other models that they might not have available. There is absolutely no sales pressure. My husband chose to keep his glasses since his prescription didn't change, and they didn't mind that he tried several glasses before deciding not to proceed. They make sure you make informed decisions about your choices but don't try to influence you. A week later, I got a call to pick up my glasses. Prices are reasonable. Overall a great experience. read more

Dr Vicki is so great! Good selection of glasses and sunglasses. Front staff is great and knowledgeable, friendly, and really easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this optometry! read more

This review is overdue for sure. I hadn't update my prescription in about 2 years. Found this place casually and I was not disappointed! It's a family business which I love. They also went more into detail about all things eye health which I was never explained at prior locations. This was new to me and gave my a whole new outlook on eye health. I explained the issues I had previously with over prescription which is what caused me to not ever use my current glasses. I had my prescription resent to something tht would allow me to see, but also not over do it to where it distorted my vision and wouldn't make me uncomfortable using them for daily wear. I happily purchased 2 new glasses. 10/10 would recommend AND go back! read more

They got my prescription wrong by combining my prescription instead of giving me bifocals. Then I had them fix it but they talked me out of getting bifocals even though it was covered by insurance. Now I'm constantly removing my glasses to read. read more

Dr Brian is great! He's very knowledgeable and thorough during the exam. I learned new things about my eyes I've never heard from any other optometrist. I'm so glad I found this office, I'm a new forever client! :) read more

The staff and doctors are so nice and welcoming! I don't live close by anymore, but continue to go to them because of the great service.

One star only because of Dr Katajima. I needed new glasses and he provided excellent care - very knowledgeable, thorough examination, good information and excellent prescription. I feel like new with my new prescription! The rest of the experience does not deserve any stars waited for appointment - 1 month waited for glasses - 1 month staff did not warn that I will be dilated during the exam and I could not do the check since had to work after the visit. the first choice lenses were recommended based on my previous 15 year-old glasses. It took me significant effort to understand why and make a right choice. I wanted to use my old frame and change the lenses' shape - it did not happen. When I got my new glasses, lenses were as original. The explanation was - the description was in the order but hidden! The staff offered me to redo glasses - 1 more month wait! Not a lot of sympathy and understanding of my frustration. Had one more visit to understand my options and couple of phone calls - fruitless. I opted not to change the lenses as it would require 2 additional visits and 1 month wait without new prescription. Since my prescription changed significantly, it is difficult to go back to old glasses - got a headache when tried. read more

I'm very impressed with Perfect Pair - all of the staff are wonderful, attentive, demonstrate great follow up and are just really nice! My exam was thorough and Dr. Vicky took the time to work with me and detail the best options for my new glasses. I never felt rushed, whereas I have at other places in the past. They have a great selection of frames and I'm SO happy with my new glasses - the frames (Kate Spade) are perfect, light and feel "right" and the lenses are excellent - my vision is much more crisp than it was! I'll definitely be a repeat customer!!! read more

I love this optometry office! I've been coming here for the past three years for my annual check up, prescription glasses, and sunglasses and have had great experiences every visit. My top reasons for recommending this office are: 1) Helpful and knowledgeable doctors and staff 2) Complete transparency of pricing 3) Really friendly atmosphere Both Dr. Brian and Dr. Vicky are excellent doctors. They're incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their patients. I always feel at ease during my exams and they are always receptive of my many questions, which I appreciate. The staff is also very knowledgeable and provide a lot of help with choosing glasses and lenses. I never knew how many options for lenses there were until I came here and I really appreciate the time they spent to talk me through everything. They are also very transparent with the prices of their services as everything is discussed before-hand. Overall, I highly recommend this optometry office. If you're looking for a new office, this is definitely the place! read more

Dr. Brian was very easy to talk to and he's very informative in a non-condescending way. The rest of the staff were very helpful. The people who were managing the transaction provided me with so many options and even calculated for me what the best choice is for me depending on what I need. Highly recommend Perfect Pair Optometry for anyone looking for a new spot. P.S. they're officially open at 10am but sometimes they have options of getting a before-opening appointment. read more

Amazing doctors and very informative! They genuinely care for your concerns and do everything they can to help you out. Front desk, I never had a issue with them ! always helpful. I'm pretty picky with picking frames which didn't faze them at all, they always go beyond with help. read more

Amazing people with professional care and competitive price. Tanya and Danielle were very helpful in selecting the frame, also prompt in calling to inform the glasses were ready. Strongly recommend this optometrists read more

Giving them 4 stars only because they seem a bit short staffed and hence a bit slow to process orders during Covid times. Otherwise their service deserves nothing less than 5 stars. The doctors are amazingly patient and cooperative and don't give up until they've ensured prescriptions and lens fittings are perfect to the last details. Location is convenient and parking is easy to find too. read more

My husband and I have seen both doctors here for our annual eye exams for the past two years and have been happy with our care! What an awesome experience! My wife's glasses needed a missing screw, and when I called to ask how much, they said it was FREE. So we went there and sure enough it was. On top of it they were super nice and great prices on eye exams as well. Thank you and keep up the good work. We will be back for the exams. read more

I've moved in the past couple of years, and was on the hunt for a new optometrist. I haven't been quite satisfied with my first couple of picks in the past couple years. Glad I kept looking, and thank you fellow Yelpers for helping me find my way here! Great service, friendly, and thorough - very impressed. They explain insurance and costs upfront, so no surprises at the end of an appointment. Dr. Brian and Michelle (I think that's her name?) also take the time to explain each portion of the appointment. I felt confident in the treatment my eyes were getting which is important to me. I didn't feel rushed, and bonus, the appointment started on time! Usually, my doctor appointments never start on time! Maybe I got lucky, who knows. Also, super thoughtful. I was looking at frames (and I stated my intention early to get contacts) while waiting for my eyes to fully dilate. Michelle offered to write in my file the name of the frames I liked so if I needed to I can refer to those in the future! That's great because that's what I was thinking in my mind for when I'm ready for glasses in a few months. Picking frames to fit my round face is always a pain, so I was glad she wrote down the names of the ones I liked so I didn't have to go through looking at them again. Their frame selection is excellent by the way. I will be a repeat! read more

Cute tidy office in a convenient location, they were all very nice and I love my newly adjusted frames.

Wow! I have to say I have been coming to this place for a few years now and LOVE them! Today's experience just topped it all off! There were some issues with the amount of insurance coverage I had left for contacts. They are so knowledgable here and wanted to get everything corrected. They called VSP and straightened it out for me. I am so happy because all of the team who works there that I have dealt with has been so easy to work with. Also between my fiance and I, we love both Doctors, Dr. Brian Kitajima and Dr. Pei-Shan Hsieh. Go to this place, you will be so happy you did! read more

I changed opticians in search of a place that didn't have drama like my last optician. This one is very friendly, and I had great service each time I stopped by. I love the glasses I bought and it's been almost a year now. Definitely will continue going here. A bit pricey on everything but it seems to be worth it so far. read more

"Eye" have seen the light! I'm usually not picky about my glasses or eye exams and usually just do the Costco/Lens-shafters thing and let them run me through their production line. However I happened to be in San Jose visiting family and suddenly started having unusual eye pain/strain but luckily I "saw" Perfect Pair in this non-descript strip mall. Thankfully the doctor was able to see me immediately (think they just had grand opening?) and was able to diagnose the problem and alleviate the symptoms. I figured I'd do an exam since I was in and expected the usual 5 minute quickie I always got at those other places, but the doctor really took time to do a thorough check using machines I'd never seen. No more of that horrific air puffing in the eye torture device at this place. It was "eye opening" (excuse the pun) to have my vision cared for like a real medical condition instead of the "care" I used to get where it was obvious they just wanted to push some designer frames on me. After the exam I told the doctor I didn't want new frames because I didn't want to pay big money for "face crutches" as I always thought of glasses. He didn't try to sell me any but as I was getting ready to leave a pair of frames really "caught my eye" and I asked about it. To my huge surprise it was a totally reasonable price! I walked away with my eye irritation gone, a detailed exam, and an awesome "perfect pair" of glasses. Luckily I come up to SJ often to visit so "eye" think I found a new optometrist at Perfect Pair! Sorry for all the puns! I know they were rather corny...uh. read more

Optometrists: only slightly less weird than dentists! I don't know anyone that enjoys going to the dentist and visiting an optometrist falls right below that for me on list of things that I don't want to do. Unfortunately the government has screwed us all into visiting one annually by telling us we must get our prescription updated before we can get our contacts again, so I've been forced to visit one much more often than I'd like. Past experiences have taught me that if I were to run into an optometrist at a bar, I'd probably turn around and leave (unless he's buying rounds. Then I'd probably stay.) Dr. Brian is the complete opposite of that. He is laid back, has a sense of humor, super polite but not awkwardly so, and very knowledgable. He's one of those folks that can translate more complicated concepts into simple ideas that even a dentist could understand. I have some bad contacts habits and he didn't lecture me about them but instead offered alternative products that would fit my lifestyle (laziness and poor eye hygiene.) He's genuinely interested in getting you what you need and making sure you are happy. They have a nicely curated selection of glasses/sunglasses, including two of my favorite designers and several others. They also carry SALT. which is kind of similar to Warby Parker with a total hipster vibe. You won't find $40 frames here, but the prices are reasonable. The selection here is definitely geared more towards adults, but I would still recommend coming here if you have a kid. After meeting Dr. Brian they will have no qualms about coming again. I can't say how much of a hidden gem this place is. I almost didn't write this review because I didn't want others to find out about the place and make it difficult to get an appointment. Go, and for once, have a pleasant experience! read more

Great staff and they got me perfect fitting contacts when other optometrists (Kaiser) said that I can't do contacts.

I've been wearing glasses since before I can remember, and I've been through many eye exams and none have been as in-depth as the one I went through today. It's very much appreciate and I will be coming here for all my annual eye-exams. read more

I had an eye exam from Dr. Kitajima done and got my first pair of glasses. The exam was very thorough and he did a great job explaining everything to me. I can't say enough great things about Perfect Pair. The staff is incredibly friendly and sweet to my toddler (they let her try on glasses and give her stickers). Their hours are fantastic as all of our appointments have either been in the evening or on the weekend. Their office is clean and their glasses selection is amazing. So lucky to have them in the neighborhood! :) read more

I was looking for somewhere here locally to do a simple repair on a stripped screw thread on my wire rim frame. When I called they gave me a price half of that elsewhere. When I arrived I showed them the glasses and mentioned the price I got over the phone. Thinking they might have been confused, I explained I didn't purchase them there. Didn't matter. Michelle came back in about 10 minutes while I waited. Apologised for the delay explaining it was difficult to get the original screw out. And did a very nice professional job on the repair and cleaned them for me. I won't say how much I was charged (I don't want anyone to get into trouble). Suffice it to say you could easily do worse elsewhere. Very easily. Thanks Michelle, you're sweet. read more

I came in before reading reviews. I was looking for the perfect pair of frames and took a look around. They have great brands like Katespade, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Gucci. Although there was no Burberry or Prada, this is one of the only stores where i saw a selection of cute Gucci frames. I met Vicky, who is super sweet and not pushy at all. She showed me various types of frames and made a lot of suggestions. She has a great attitude and I felt completely welcomed. Although I did not end up buying today.. I am definitely considering coming back mainly because of such genuine service read more

I've finally found a new permanent optometrist! Both doctors are awesome! My family sees Dr. K and he has taken such great care of our eyes. I would highly recommend Perfect Pair to friends and family. They have a wide selection and staff members are fully knowledgeable about their products and they aren't pushy with frame selections or lens options. They go over everything and make sure you fully understand what you are getting when choosing the lens for your frames. We always get top notch customer service no matter what. I love the consistency. The parking situation is a bit of a challenge on the weekends but other than that I have nothing negative to say about Perfect Pair, they really are a Perfect Pair. read more

There's a great new optical store in Willow Glen! It's no exaggeration to say that we are thrilled with all aspects of this business. They carry a great selection of stylish, quality frames, including the handmade brand SALT, which I haven't seen anywhere in Willow Glen. The Opticians are experienced but up to date in their knowledge, extremely helpful and also very nice people. It's a beautiful space, and very pleasant to shop in. My husband and I received excellent care and customer service, and I have a fab. new pair of glasses. Best of all, they are open on Sunday. First time here and I must say I had a great experience. I just moved back to San Jose and was in need of an optometrist closer to home. I was initially basing my search off of recommendations from friends but every place I looked had to long of a waiting list for Saturday appointments. Finally, I turned to Yelp. All the reviews were dead on! It was a nice and up to date practice. Customer service was very pleasant. And Dr. Kitajima was awesome!
