I visited this location after reading about an offer for a free thirty day supply of contacts through my insurance, VSP. An overview of the deal is attached for reference, but nowhere did it mention needing to buy contacts. The offer expressly states that a thirty day supply can be yours following an eye exam and a contact fitting. When I showed this offer to the staff here, they went through astonishing measures to gaslight me into believing I was misunderstanding what the offer read. They were adamant that I needed to buy contacts and even went as far as having a VSP representative call me to "disprove" the deal. I finally asked them to refund my exam fee. If they didn't want to fulfill their end of the deal, fine, but I was going to go somewhere else that would. Suddenly, they were able to figure out how to get the free contacts. They had the nerve to inform me that their VSP rep even managed to throw in an extra 30 day supply for me as if they were doing me some kind of favor. Like I was some freeloader. They were far kinder in their later interactions with me, which I interpreted as their way of apologizing without actually saying sorry. I even got a free contacts case when all was said and done. When I later needed my PD (pupillary distance)--a basic part of the exam--to order glasses, the front desk told me they would not provide it because I was not buying glasses from them. This was surprising and very disappointing, because PD is part of the exam results that I already paid for. Even more concerning: When my family member called the same clinic later, the staff suddenly said they could provide the PD. This inconsistency raises questions about professionalism and fairness. The Optometrist Huyen (Winnie) Dang was so knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner. My Father has an eye disease called Retinal Pigmentosa which is causing him to go blind. It is a condition that has no treatment/cure. The Doctor knew all the things to watch for...signs that would show that I was getting the disease (it is hereditary). It was very comforting knowing that I have picked the right Optometrist My Husband has diabetes and that makes eye exams very important. Diabetics have the potential for blindness because of uncontrolled blood sugar. So you need to get retinal scans and not every optometrist office does them but this office does. Dr. Winnie made sure that my husband did the retinal test and checked over everything thoughly. Her front office staff was a delight, very friendly and welcoming. She was having nausea and consistent vertigo, and thanks to Dr. Dang's scan, they discovered pressure against her eye. I have been using this place for a few years since before the pandemic and its been ok. However I recently had an eye exam which went ok and then ordered a new pair of glasses and the after sales was not that good. I remember going to this store before during their advertised office hours and the place being closed before but despite being irritating a thought it may just be an aberration but today that turned out to be wrong. I had received a text from them saying my Glasses had arrived and that they had made a mistake and I owed them $20. Already irritated that they had made a mistake I went to the store at 1115am only to find that the store was closed and a clock type sign saying they would be back at 1200 hours. The store has a sign on the glass door clearly stating that the store opens most days at 0900am except Wednesday when it opens at 1000am. Anyway I had to leave and return probably at least costing me $5 in gas and when I returned I asked why I owed $20 and why they were not open when I had visited at 1115am. They showed me a form which had a highlighted section stating that I owed $20 copay I did not argue with the lady even though I was irritated by the explanation and then she said that she had been on her lunch break. I stated "you take a lunch break and hour after opening"' to which she replied that the store opens at 0900am. I told her about the sign outside and she basically called me a liar and that the store opens every day at 0900am. There was no point in arguing as she clearly could not accept she was wrong or go look at the sign so I just left a little angry and very irritated. This is yet another example of the rudeness of some people and I will not be returning. I received a call from the owner apologizing for my experience and she was clearly upset at my treatment. It is not always easy to apologize especially when its not really your fault but I happily excepted her apology and said that if I'm around when next I need an exam or glasses I would be happy to return as staff here are usually very friendly and helpful. read more

My 14 years old son and I had our 1st appointment with Dr. Dang today. She took her time with us and did a very thorough exam. I had a concern about my left eye, she took extra time on examine it and made sure everything was perfect. I HIGHLY recommend her. I came here as a new patient today and it was probably the best optical exam experience I've ever had! I just had to fill out a couple of forms and Dr. Dang took care of me immediately. The place is very renovated and although I had not come in before, the new hardwood floors, bright lighting, and clean design makes you feel like you're walking into a professional business. I had to do a regular eye exam and contact lenses fitting, and the overall appointment was about an hour long. I spent a lot of time chatting with Dr. Dang to get to know her a bit before we dove into our appointment and she is incredibly warm, friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. I asked a million questions about eye care and she was patient with each one. She is also able to manage medical conditions so check out her shop if you need that type of treatment. I often feel very pressured during eye exams because answering the dreaded questions of "1...or 2....or similar" feels like I'm making DRASTIC life-changing decisions. However, Dr. Dang was incredibly patient with me and talked me through everything she was doing during the examination. With a new condition I did not know I had, she thoroughly explained the associated procedures, risks, and trends in the population that has the condition and I felt a lot more educated on the condition (although still not happy that I have it!) Dr. Dang called me afterwards to follow up with a contact lenses rebate deal her office had, and after helping me do the math step-by-step I realized I wanted to order from her since it was a pretty good deal. Of course, everyone's insurance coverage is different but I appreciated the personal call and how worked with me on ordering since I am going to be travelling. Overall, if your insurance covers Dr. Dang's business as part of your network, you have to come check it out! I'm a local resident in the area so it was a really easy location to come to. It's right next to Campbell downtown but there are plenty of parking spots open in the plaza. You could probably hang out before or after your appointment to make a mini outing of it if you'd be driving from further away. read more

She is very knowledgeable and makes great recommendations for your vision care. I ended up getting prescription glasses here, as well. She had a nice variety of styles and brands for eye wear. You can tell Dr. Dang thinks about the comfort of her customers. She renovated her office to create a more modern, yet warm and clean environment. If you have little ones, she has a cute little table where they can sit and color while they wait for you. The receptionist is nice, organized, and provides great customer service. I really wanted this place to be great because it is literally a 2 minute drive from my house, I like supporting local Campbell businesses and it had great reviews on yelp. The optometrist (Dr T I think she said her name was) did not do a very good job of making me feel welcome, she was not warm or friendly. At one point she even exclaimed "wow you are seriously near sided..." This is something that I am very aware of and the whole reason I am coming in for an eye exam. There could have been more constructive words from the Dr. The chairs in the reception area are VERY dirty with stains, they look like they have never been cleaned. The contact container that my optometrist gave me to put in my contacts was filled with dust... The only good thing about this place was the receptionist. She was nice, had a personality and really tried to make me feel welcomed and appreciated as a patient. I doubt I'll be back unless I can't find a better place that takes my insurance. read more

Dr T is the most genuine, friendly and well-meaning optometrist I have ever met. She tries to remember all her patients by name, and is extremely thorough during the check up and helpful with any questions you may have. The high ratings on Yelp are well-deserved. My only complaint is that the day I showed up for my appointment (opening time on a Friday morning), she was already helping someone, and another patient came in exactly the same time as I did saying they had an appointment at that time. It was almost like she was triple booked. I had to wait for about 30 minutes, but luckily between the paperwork and waiting it wasn't too bad. read more

Extremely friendly service. Dr. Dang and her staff immediately greet you with a smile, and the cheerful attitude continues until you leave. First thing I notice is that it's kid friendly. I brought my 3 boys to see Dr. Dang, and immediately they see the coloring table and the kiddie floor mat. They played there while they waited. Once inside, you can totally tell Dr. Dang has experience with kids. It kicked in multiple times when my kids became fussy, and she turned the exam into a game for them. She was always smiling the whole way through. She didn't force the dialation on one of the kids, and worked w/ what she had. She even gave him an extra pair of those special shades just so he wouldn't feel left out. She helped my eldest pick out a cool frame that he liked, and didn't pressure me into getting frames for the other boys because they didn't need it. When I said no she claimed she needed a special tool to make the repair and couldn't help me. And if they don't have the glasses you're looking for, but you can find them in one of the glasses catalogs, they'll order it for you without any charge so you can see the glasses for yourself. They messaged me about my insurance getting finally accepted by them. I called them Friday and they called me right back Saturday morning at 9:30am letting me know that they have an appointment the same day at noon and then Wednesday at 5:30pm. I called at 10:16am and their line just kept ringing and then again I left a voicemail stating that I will take the noon appointment same day. So, I thought on my end I already confirmed I am going and already taking that spot. I went in at 11:50am and they said that I never confirmed and they didn't get a call back. For me, if you called a customer/patient once and only less than an hour just passed by, I would check again with the customer, check the damn voicemail because maybe they called back and the office missed it! I came right after my son's swim class and canceled my automotive maintenance scheduled at noon and moved it. So, after that the lady in front asked whether if she can ask the optometrist if she can squeezed me in, and of course she said she's pretty booked! So, then they tried to book for an appointment for other weekend or weekday, it was like they had no idea that they called me? Giving me options? Like they just call and they just don't know who the hell they called. Like no damn idea what they even told you or options they asked you that you have. I was upset, but then it's ok because I looked at the choices of glasses they have and they seemed to have the old stuff and they don't have that much choices. They also have one person doing scheduling and helping other people that's why probably she has no idea what is happening and who the office called. I would suggest putting post it in front of your pc or make a little note on your pc on what you have done and whom you called, that way when someone comes in, you know what's going on. Lastly, please check with the customer at least 2x, check voicemails if the customer you called have called back specially if you knew you were on the phone for quite some time, don't offer a slot and then give it to other customer within 20-30 minutes without calling them back again for the last time.
