I woke up and my right eye was very irritated and blurry. It's happened before and it usually goes away very quickly. Not this day. It lasted all day and I was starting to get worried. I am not much of a hypochondriac but I was starting to get some scary thoughts. I wanted to see an optometrist and thankfully found an appointment the same day here. The staff and the doctor were both delightful. The ending of the story is that my eyes are super healthy, just had a bad case of dry eye. Thank you doctor for easing my fears. This was my first exam with this clinic and all I can say is "what an amazing experience". All of the staff was super friendly and polite. My appointment was at opening time which can be rough in previous experiences at other places, but they got me in immediately. I've been to places where you don't get seen until their second cop of coffee when you get there at opening time. This was not the case. My actual exam was pretty thorough, imagine getting a tests done, that took me a referral to see a eye neurologist as part of their routine exam. Color me impressed. Dr.Yeh was such a pleasure and super friendly. You can tell she really loves helping you get the best vision as possible. Much respect. I was told that I should go with the "thinnest" Lense. They showed me a comparison between a 1x compressed lense vs 3x compressed lense. The comparison was with a -6.0 prescription. I would say it was about 1/3 difference in width when comparing the 1x vs. 3x. My eyes are -5.5 and -4.5 so based off the lense jack showed me, mine should've looked like the thin 3x lense since I paid $120 extra JUST FOR THE "THINNER" LENSE. Let me tell you this. This was the thickest pair of glasses I've ever had in my life - and in the past I only got it 1x compressed and my vision was better. I called to tell Jack, but he said the glasses thickness was not guaranteed. So I asked "to clarify, you can tell me it's going to be thin like the glasses you showed me for comparison, but if it ends up looking nothing like the lense you showed me, it's not your fault and would cost me?" He dodged the question and said that's not on us but something I need to take up with insurance. Attached is a photo of my "super thin lense" that I paid over $120 for. That doesn't include the rest of the cost for the frames, the test, the non glare etc. just the LENSE cost me $120. This review is for the store. No experience with the optometrists in the office; I got my eye exam done somewhere else. I was in a hurry to get glasses and did not want to use Lenscrafters, so I decided to come here as I now live in Los Gatos. They do have nice frames; I will give them that. I worked with Jack, who was very pushy as far as getting expensive features I did not need. Got two pairs: sunglasses and prescription clear glasses, still expensive, but oh well... Got it done, or so I thought. Then, I get a call a week later, while on vacation, telling me that they had lost my prescription. Yes, lost my prescription!! Of course, I did not have my prescription handy while on vacation, so I dug out the doctor's info and they contacted them. Delays... So, eventually, I am told the glasses will be ready by a certain day. I call the day they stated, just for kicks, and (drum roll) only the sunglasses are ready. Some story about quality control holding them back. More delays... As of now, I don't have my glasses. I am still hoping they got the prescription right. Was counting on having new glasses prior to a conference; it is not going to happen and still have no idea when they'll be ready. Boy was I sorely mistaken. Please read this review. I was a customer for over a year and a half and will not be a customer anymore. This is the first time I am reviewing an optometrist as well, and I still do not have my glasses. I actually have an eye condition that was monitored here. On 02/09 I had an appointment with the doctor and I had missing glasses, which I picked out and ordered here, paid out of pocket for everything. Since it was imperative for me to get my glasses on time, I was quoted 7 to 10 business days. It is 02/22/2023, they HAVE NO IDEA where the glasses are. I called them on 02/20/23 spoke to a gentleman who assured me that I would get a call back with an update, but no-one called me back. Today I called them 02/22/23 around 11 am and was told they need to contact a lab. Again no update on anything. Honestly if I knew this is the service that I would get and I spend over $500 on the glasses. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, there are numerous other optometrists in the area. read more

I have bought two pair of glasses from this shop and my girlfriend bought one pair. I had great experiences all around from the exams to the glasses selection and configuring what I wanted. Regarding the customer service, I can concur Jose is amazingly polite, knowledgable and patient. Regarding Jack (if he's the Asian guy, I think that's him), I had zero issues with him also. Jack is more directed and will guide you with his opinion while also taking yours into account. The reading glasses frames he recommended to me are as good as any I've ever had in decades of buying glasses so he hooked me up. Don't be afraid to put the brakes on if you need more information or a better explanation (this is true in any sales interaction). Did Jose let me try on something like 10 pairs of sunglasses, and let me take my time and come back later to make a decision with zero pressure? Yes. Best prescription sunglasses I've ever had. Did Jack slightly upsell my girlfriend on her Ferragamo frames? Yes. Are they amazing? Yes. Do we have any regrets? No, zero. The same goes for my reading/computer glasses Jack "coached" me into. They're awesome, I'm happy to have had his advice. I actually was not that impressed by this place. I went here because it had high reviews on Yelp. Honestly, I've gotten better service at Pearl Vision. Dr. Yeh was really nice, but she's a busy body and I felt extremely rushed through the exam. Asking me the difference between 4 and 5, 2 and 3 seemed like a matter of life and death. They also added on a bunch of fees on top of my insurance like a retina picture and a contact fitting fee, and then tried to upsell me on the type of contacts I wear (from Acuvue 2 to Acuvue Oasis which are about $7 more per box and at 8 boxes that's $56) even after I said I had no issues with my current lenses. I ended up walking out of there paying $110 with insurance for the exact same exam I paid $79 without insurance for at Pearl Vision last year. The office staff is like Jekyll and Hyde. The guy is grumpy as hell and has no sense of humor, not to mention he's slightly impatient (sorry I can't see without my glasses so it's a little hard for me to take non-verbal social cues). The woman assistant is really nice, but seems stressed and rushed. Not to mention she bickered at him the whole time I was in the waiting area (maybe that's why he's grumpy). Overall, I felt this was the typical doctor office. Over-priced so they maximize insurance and charge extra for a bunch of services your insurance doesn't pay for (and I have good insurance btw). I found All About Eyes on Yelp on a Sunday. I called them on the following Monday and got a same day appointment. The staff was extreeeeemly helpful and assisted me with finding my husbands secondary insurance (which helped out tremendously with the style of frames I wanted). I saw doctor Fariba Lessani. She was very thorough in her exam and explaining the results with me. She was super nice as well. I then picked out my frames and got exactly what I wanted as the staff (JB & Jack) helped me get both my primary and secondary coverage situated. Dr. Yeh has been my optometrist for nearly 10 years. Though I have moved out of the area, I live in the east bay, I still continue to have my yearly exams here because I LOVE how thorough, friendly, and polite she and her staff are. I had been wearing glasses since the 3rd grade, up until I received lasik surgery, about 6 years ago. The place I received lasik has lifetime adjustments for free on the condition that I get a yearly exam from their network of optometrists. I'm sure there is an optometrist in their network closer to where I live, but Dr. yeh has been the best optometrist I've had. We're talking about 20 years experience I've had with optometrists here. So, I have no problem driving out to Los Gatos once a year to pay her a visit. Quality of care is worth it to me. read more

I was very pleased with the professionalism of the office. My appointment (pre-Covid) was well organized, Dr Young was efficient and friendly, and Jack got my glasses processed quickly. I brought in two frames that needed new lenses, and they got them done quickly and with high quality. Jack also showed me and I ended up buying a pair of Maui Jim's. I was really excited to pick them up, but it ended up to be a huge disappointment because the glasses had significantly worse quality than the Oakley's I'm usually wearing. I brought them in, and Jack sent them in to get them redone. He said that Maui Jim's usually have the best reputation but I didn't quite buy it. Well, I picked them up as soon as the store had reopened, and Jack was right; I couldn't be happier with the Maui Jim lenses. They are better than the Oakley's. Very very excited about using them. They look good, they feel good, and most importantly, the lens clarity is amazing. Each time I had to go to the store, the staff was always professional and efficient. It's really weird - I have never written a Yelp review before and I see that someone else has written the exact same complaint today that I was about to - goes to show how awful this guy really is. Firstly I want to point out that the doctors and receptionists are great and very professional. My family has been going for about 7 years. My 18 year old daughter who usually wears contact lenses got some glasses a couple of weeks ago. This is where I have to state THE GUY - JACK YEH WHO SELLS THE GLASSES IS THE WORST. HE IS A SALESMAN AND HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE QUALITIES WHATSOEVER. All he wants to do is maximize your insurance and sell you what he can. He talks very quickly and doesn't listen to what you want or recommend the correct glasses. My daughter is left with glasses that make her feel like she is looking through a fishbowl and apart from saying we should have got more expensive lenses, he actually wanted us to buy another pair of glasses from him. He offered no service of trying to replace the lenses for us and blamed us for getting 'just above the basic material'. He also stated that this is what would happen with frames that big - he never mentioned that when we were buying them. I'm not sure if he is related to Dr Yeh - maybe that's why he is there. She should get rid of him - my husband had a much better experience when he got his glasses as the fantastic girl at the front desk helped him. Maybe it was his day off - but all I can say is she does a much better job than he does. They have lost our business and I will be telling a lot of my friends not to go there either. He was extremely pushy in trying to sell expensive add ons. I had stated very clearly that I wanted a backup pair of glasses and would not spend anything more than what was covered by insurance. He did not seem to like that and was very curt after that point. I think my glasses were purposely messed up. The split bifocals are not positioned properly. I was shocked by how I was treated in this office. I'm sure the exam itself was done properly, etc. but everyone in the office, including the office staff talked to me as if I was a six year old (I'm clearly in my mid-twenties, have a career, etc). The woman helping with my initial testing even bent down to talk to me as if I was a child. It was overwhelming and insulting. Also, because I have better than perfect vision, annual eye exams are a waste of time and money, however the years that I have opted to skip them, I have been hounded by this office to schedule my appointment (I'm talking calls every week for months). I found about this place through a friend who told me they were really nice and had good service, I'm all about customer service and thought I'll give them a try. I really needed an eye exam so I went to them. They receptionist are great, very friendly. Dr Yeh looked rushed while she was with me, I did not like that. Maybe you shouldn't book appts on top of other appts or so damn close to each other. The reason I gave this place 2 stars is because by the time I picked out the frames that I wanted the guy who was explaining the differences between the no glare or glare lenses added the $80 fee to my transaction after I told him 5 times that I did NOT WANT THAT. I'd been wearing hard contacts since Junior Year in high school, and have been told by numerous optometrists that soft contacts just weren't going to work with my high prescription and astigmatism. Enter Dr. Yeh: She was diligent and tried three different brands of contact lenses, but finally found a brand that worked with my eyes! YAY! No more dust getting under my contacts or losing my contacts on a windy day! My vision with soft contacts is better than with my hard contacts, and I have Dr. Yeh to thank! read more

I contacted All About Eyes to see if they would consider adjusting two pairs of glasses for my father. He lives in a memory care facility near their office but is not a patient there, nor am I. I spoke with Jack, who assured me they would be glad to help. Because I was driving from out of town, he even made sure I knew when his lunch hour was so that we didn't arrive during that time. We arrived later that morning and Jack was wonderful! He was professional, kind, and patient with my dad. When we left, my dad's glasses were sparkling clean and fit him perfectly. The kindness and customer service extended to us made a big difference in my day with my dad. I think it's little things like this that reveal loads about a business. All of the optometrists are excellent. They are very thorough and caring, and provide referrals and follow up whenever necessary. They are patient, and work with you to find the best prescription that meets your needs. Service is prompt, courteous and friendly. Jack, the optician, works with you to find the right frame and glasses from their decent selection. As many of the other reviews have said, Jack is a tad aggressive at up selling, but it doesn't bother me much. I could see how some people might be irritated by his style, but I don't think he will change, since this has been his style for a long time, and he has gotten this feedback from many reviewers. read more

I really really like this place. I feel like my eye exam was very thorough. They did not feel satisfied until we really nailed it down completely. I signed up to try contacts which was a BIG deal, unbeknownst to me. You have to come in a chunk of times to be sure they are working properly...good fit, good prescription, etc. I feel like they really went the extra mile to be sure I was satisfied...And I can see incredibly well. Love my new graded trifocal lenses. My stigmatism seems to make everything a little more challenging, but these guys were awesome. They work together as a tight knit team with a handful of different doctors. I ended up being scheduled mostly with Dr. Victoria Young and she was great. She had access to all notes, was a great listener and interpreter to what was going on for me and was a joy to be with. Dr. Yeh, was the most helpful person I could have found today (Feb 23 2011). When I needed to be seen and no other Dr. in Los Gatos would take me (and these people were my regular doctors), she took me in, diagnosed me, and sent me off to get medication to get me better. She also told me more about my eyes than I knew before, and did tests I had never had before (and I have terrible eyes so this was great seeing what is new in the eye world). I love Eye Contact Optometry! As a new contact wearer, the doctors and staff were more than helpful and kind about explaining things to me and working with me when I needed help troubleshooting! They got me in quicly every time I needed an appointment and I never had to wait long once I got to the office. They worked with my insurance closely and helped me get what I needed within budget. I have been going for regular eye tests for thirty years and the last ten with Dr Yeh have been the best I have experienced. She is extremely professional, thorough, patient and knowledgeable. I have used this place for eye exams as well as to get glasses for a number of years. I now wonder why I continued to come here. The optometrists are fine, the medical eye exams and advice are standard. But the problem is with the optician side. The last three pairs of glasses I purchased from this place developed unexpected problems. For example the covering that makes contact with the ears would come off, or in another instance the actual lens started pealing a film coating. This makes me think that the frames and lenses are not of great quality. What makes the experience worse is that Jack the optician always tells me there is nothing he can do for me! Ordered a pair of Nike prescription glasses with Flexon clipon sunglasses. When the glasses came back two weeks later, the prescription lenses on them were INCORRECT. Had to send them back and wait two more weeks to get them corrected. Not a good start.... Later on, I ordered a pair Flexon clipon replacements over the phone. Initially, I was told it would take one month to get the shipment. One month later, no response. I called back to follow up and was told it was on back order and needed to wait for one more month. Another month later, no news. I called back again and got the same story to wait for one more month. Three months later, same story. Four months later, same stuff. Finally came to my senses to cancel the order and request the refund. Overall, the service was error-prone and there was absolutely no follow-through on orders. Whoever is in charge of this office needs to look hard and decide if this is the type of customer service that will bring back recurring business. I have been going here for over fifteen years and the people are always friendly and the service is always exceptional. I would recommend them highly. Adella is so efficient and nice and goes out of her way to be helpful. Every time I need new glasses, they are patient while I choose. I wish they would have more of a choice, but only 1 year was I disappointed in the choices available. If they give me the hard sell, which has only happened a few times I do get irritated a bit, but I understand that's part of their job and refuse the extras.
