Wow this place is awesome! My friend and I went for pedicure, and the pedicures were amazing. They took their time, did a great job, and not only did you get the usual treatments with a standard pedicure, but you also got a hot stone massage, and extra scrubs. Found this place when I didn't have time to go to my usual salon before vacation. From the outside it didn't look that great but as soon as you walk in it was great! Really clean and relaxing environment. I get the gelish, a pedicure and eyebrows waxed. The gelish always lasts me at least 3 weeks with minor chipping and the pedicures! The best for the price! This place is the best! I found them because I go next door to VE SALON. They pamper the heck out of you during your pedi with hot stones , salt scrub, and lotion massage. I love this place! They take good care of you, have conversation with you and remember little details when you come in! They also do shellac pedicures which stay shiny and look great for 3 weeks! I would have paid a lot more but for $23, Tina got a better tip. I can't wait to go back. AND they got me right in with no wait. They had a good amount a techs there pretty early in the morning too. I have been going here for about 2 years now when a co worker referred me and i love My she does an awesome job!! My nails last without chipping or lifting and the service is good. Sometimes they do run a little behind but not by much. They are very friendly and always make me feel very comfortable as other nail salons can seem like rude or sound like they are talking about you. Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment, and they only take cash. I have tried other nail salons since i have moved a little farther but no one compares so this is my favorite nail place, and I go out of my way to continue to go to them for my nail services =) read more

Christina is the owner of this classy nail salon. I've been coming to her over 15 years. Her work is perfect just like the name of her salon. All of her employees quit without notice to open their own salon. Shame on them for treating her like this after 10 years of working with her! After Christina had her baby, I went to Julia, supposedly second best. Worst manicure I've ever had. She's rude with an upitty nasty attitude, and I always feel uncomfortable around. Good riddance!! She grabbed all the appointment books and called Christina's clients as well as her own, bad mouthed Christina in an effort to build her business. I've always done my own nails, and I would say I'm pretty good. My Best friend was getting married and she wanted everyone to get their nails done together. So I decided to give it a go. I got shellac for my hands and a normal spa pedi. Wow. It was amazing. I was blown away but how great they trimmed my cuticles and painted my nails. My feet were so pretty. I honestly couldn't stop starring at my nails. Vivian was amazing and super nice. For my first time, I'm glad I got. We paid $30 for shellac and $23 for the pedi. So worth the money and I definitely will be coming back more often. They have converted me. read more

I came here about a week ago. I had been here before and had decent pedicures so I figured they could manage to do a good manicure. I asked for gel nails...being a person that never gets fake nails I had no idea what the process was. Long story short, I paid a lot of money for "gel" nails and ended up with acrylic nails painted with gel polish. The shapes of the nails are hideous. I have been coming to Perfect 1 Nails and Christina since I moved to the South Bay which has been about 14 years now. I can't believe how time flies. Anyway, I love the work Christina does, I would never go anywhere else to get my nails done. My nails are always flawless and I actually only go every 3 weeks because after 2 weeks they still look fantastic. She just recently started using a new gel product which is actually better, a little pinker and much shinier, don't even need a top coat anymore. Also, you only have to let them sit under the lamp for 5 minutes instead of 8 and with no top coat you easily save 10 minutes......I like the spa pedicures too, I get them every so often, the girls there do a really good job, great massage chairs. I highly recommend this place; in fact I recommend it all the time, my sister-in-law started going here too and she also drives in from Gilroy, that's saying a lot!! read more

This is place is generally clean, affordable and okay for gel manicures. It is also easy enough to get appointments and they are usually on time. I have done gel several times and recommend Tina. AVOID IT FOR ACRYLIC nails, especially if you have sensitive hands or worry about damage to the nail bed. I had it done once with Tracy (Tina doesn't do acrylic), she overdrilled the entire time, even though I told her how sensitive my nail beds are, and especially around the edge of the nails to the point that my fingers were sore for several days. I am sure my nail beds will sustain serious damage from this. I am not going back ever for acrylic. read more

I called on a Saturday around 2 o'clock to make an appointment for two pedicures and one manicure for two friends and myself. We were able to get an appointment for 4:15pm. When we came to the salon, my two friends were taken back to get a pedicure in under 5 minutes. I waited about ten minutes for my manicure, and the owner, Lynne was extremely apologetic for the small wait. Although in my experience, ten min wait is NOTHING to compared to other salons I've had to wait at. Lynne was very friendly and did a great job on my manicure. My friends were impressed with their pedicures, coming with a salt scrub and hot wax at no extra charge. We all received 10% our services for being first time customers. I have tried so many different nail places in San Jose, and they are either great, but too far, or close to me and either the service is poor, or the manicure. I've been coming here for a good 6 months now and I get gel manicures at least twice a month. They have been consistently good up until the last 2 times. My fiancé got me a $60 gc which is good for 2 gel manicures. The first bad experience was with a new color I chose, they just got it in and it looked horrible on my nails (really bumpy and uneven) so I asked for a different color that I have had in the past-that didn't look good either and they offered to fix it but since I was already there for two hours I didn't have time. The girl that did my nails didn't seem very happy with me, but sorry, I get my nails done so that my hands look pretty, not ugly. Welp, I had ugly nails for about a week before I had to go back in. I requested a girl that I thought I was happy with in the past but couldn't remember exactly. She was really sweet but the color wasn't done very well. The color was so far from my cuticle that it looked like my nails had been grown out for two weeks already. I am sad to say that I will not longer be returning. read more

Based off the reviews I wanted to try this place out. I came in on a Friday evening to get a pedicure and they told me that they couldn't help me because the woman doing pedicures wanted to go home, and asked me to come back in the morning. When I came back first thing the next morning, they again told me they were too busy (with 3 customers present) to help me and asked me again to come back later. I'm really surprised they turned away a customer twice; I probably won't try this place again unless I'm in a jam! read more

After a bad first experience here I gave it another shot, but this time was equally bad. Everyone I've been in contact with is very rude, and they do a very poor job each time. I was so disappointed after reading all the great reviews! I had an appointment with Lynn for a manicure with "gel nail polish." It was $30, plus tip. I was in and out within 1/2 hour. There was absolutely NO pampering, no massage, nothing memorable. The experience was simply cut the cuticle, put the polish on, out the door. Polish was ok, light color ... not especially good coverage, not especially close to the cuticle (so I'll need to have them redone sooner than later). If you are looking for "the experience," this is not the place. If you just need a quick paint job, give it a shot ... it's clean and nice inside. read more

I should've listened to other Yelpers, they said to see Tiffanie; i didn't - ended up with 3 cuts, 4 crooked nails and a very sloppy paint job. They were very friendly and took me in for a manicure as a walk-in, so I appreciated that. A few other observations - the place looks quite clean, and the staff is friendly; however, the girl who was working on my nails didn't bother to use clean towels or to fix the crooked nails. Their polish is old (tried 2 different bottles); the thinners work only so well, and eventually it changes the color - if I come back to see Tiffanie again, i'll probably bring my own. Oh, and it's cash only, although i think they take checks as well. My quest for a good nail place continues. __________________________________ Update: December 12, 2007 By the time I got home yesterday, I noticed that all of my polish bubbled and had cracks - I called back this morning and asked them to re-apply. They were very nice about it, didn't charge me and the same lady took off the polish and re-applied new one. I chose a different bottle, just in case. The salon is in an ugly parking lot, but inside it's cleaned and newly remodeled. The girls are friendly, the prices are reasonable and they carry a good selection of OPI nail polish. I would have given the salon one more star, but they only accept cash which is inconvenient.( I had to go across the street to an ATM to get cash. The girl also tried to charge me more to change colors because I didn't like the original color I chose. My pedicure looked great. let me start off by saying i have had a pedicure from this location once before and it was pretty decent. i returned for my next visit to receive a leg waxing. when i walked in and asked how much a leg wax cost both the nail ladies had responded at the same time saying 2 different prices. then said well... it depends i continue with my half leg waxing service , as she takes me to the back of the salon to a tiny room with no windows , no circulation and no air. the worst wax i have ever received, she BURNED me removing layers of my skin and leaving other patches of hair. read more

Sometimes the services last a little longer than I necessarily need but the experience is relaxing, the tools and tubs are clean and the ladies are very sweet. I had a horrible experience with Christine at perfect one nail. I had to return four times because she did a lousy job putting the gel on my nails. My nails started to chip after three days of getting them done. I tried to help her by giving her advice telling her maybe she's not letting my nails stay under the light long enough. She claimed that wasn't the issue and that I was her first customer whose nail chipped so soon. She said it was something I was doing. NOT! The salon is clean and professional and there is no other salon that performs the styles and courtesy as this one. Christina cares for all of the clients and is very friendly. After moving to the area and trying 3 different salons, this is the one I settled on. The ladies are really meticulous and I leave with great looking nails. They can get busy, so consider making an appointment. The only think I don't love is often, just after you settle into a chair and one tech starts, you are asked to move into another chair so another tech can finish. read more

The owner is lying to customers by saying that all three people quit at the same time, but they were fired because the owner wants to hire new people to pay them less. Then the owner raised the prices to the customers. I now go to Hair Forever located at 1290 Bascom Ave where two of the people that were fired now work.
