I have been coming to Perfect One Nails for 5 years now, maybe even more. I have seen several different nail techs and they all treat me with the best quality and care. One person I regularly see is Tammy. Tammy has done my gel manicure and pedicure - numerous times. Whenever I don't know what color to choose she helps me find one that compliments my skin tone. Please take this review with a grain of salt. My usual go-to salon has set high customer service standards, so very few places will compare. I was in a bind and needed my nails done quickly. After consulting my trusted advisor (Yelp), I decided to give this place a chance. The Yay: -No wait. To be fair, I arrived on a Monday during lunch. -Over 450 gel colors. They had a HUGE selection of Gelish, DND, and perfect match hues. They even have holographic, metallics, and cat-eye options. -Price. $35 for a Shellack manicure is a steal. This might be the best price in the South Bay area. -Durability. It's been almost 1.5 weeks, and my nails are still going strong. Yay! The Nay: -Questionable hygiene. I'm not sure how their tools are sanitized. I didn't see any UV sanitizing machine. I'm used to technicians bringing fresh tools out with them and opening the sanitary pouches in front of the client. But my technician had the tools inside her desk and kept reaching for them. It was a bit shocking. Additionally, my technician didn't wear any gloves. Her fingernails were not clean, and she used her nails to clean up any color spillage. I was mortified. -Dull tools. The nail clippers and cuticle cutters were so dull that the tech had to apply pressure and clip multiple times. -Not detail-oriented. My nail tech didn't properly remove the old basecoat, shaped the nails a bit unevenly (didn't even ask me what shape I wanted), and didn't try to even out the past polish to ensure my digits were evenly coated. -Not very customer-centric. I wasn't offered any beverages, and the techs kept talking to each other in Vietnamese. I usually don't have an issue with the last point, but it was awkward because I was just silently sitting there while they were talking (there was no music; their discussions were my ambiance setters). If you are not picky, are a hygiene risk taker, and want decent results at a good price, this could be an excellent option for you. As for me, I'm going back to my hygiene-obsessed, ODC, perfectionist lady. read more

I was looking for a last minute place to do my nails as my usual was closed. When I came I was the only one there and only two staff working. They are very nice ladies but my pedicured felt rushed as more clients were coming in and the two staff took everyone and told them to wait. Clients out numbered staff. I also got a manicure, gel nails and few days ago and it's now chipping. I understand that getting clients will get you paid but (my two cents) the rush of services and a sloppy job will not get clients to come back. I will not be returning. read more

Overall, a great place for service. I've never had a bad experience here. I used to come here often before COVID, and they are still great after COVID. There are very few good quality nail salons in my opinion but I would not hesitate to come back here. It's really hard to find a decent place with good customer service. They DO NOT sanitize their tools properly!! I came in for a pedicure and the tools were not sealed in a bag. The tools were just laying there out in the open on the top of her cart as if it were used from a previous client. I also noticed the nail filer had colored nail polish on it and when I asked if her tools were properly sanitized, she said yes and became really quiet nor did she gave me an answer why the nail filer looked used. When she started using the other metal tools, she poured some kind of liquid on it before using it on my nails which makes me believe it was not properly sanitized. I asked her why she's pouring the liquid over the tools if they were already sanitized. NO RESPONSE. It's extremely rude to not answer your customer's questions. She just kept working on my nails as if she's deaf. Next to her was an older nail lady who was almost finished with her customer, I watched her as she cleaned up, she took the tools behind and "rinsed" it for 5 seconds then she took the tools back to the main room and laid it on a towel. After some time, she then put the tools in a liquid container (who knows how many times the solution has been reused), dried off on a towel and the tools were ready for the next client. I went here for a manicure and pedicure a few days ago and everything was perfect! My nail tech was very kind and helpful--she asked me if I wanted any beverages, if I was comfortable (with the water temperature for example) in the massage chair, and the massage felt really nice and long too. The salon was very clean, had music, and a really relaxing atmosphere. For the manicure and pedicure themselves, there were so many colors to choose from! There were also many boxes of nail charms she let me look through while she painted my nails :) A deluxe pedicure (what I got) is only $45 and my gel manicure was $35! It saddens me to have to write this review, but I must, because I had such a terrible experience. I have visited Perfect 1 Nails two times. The first time, I got a pedicure, and the nail polish started chipping after a couple of days. I thought nothing of it, because I'm pretty active, so I let it slide. This second time, a few days ago, I decided to take a risk and for convenience sake, get a pedicure and a manicure. Bad move. I got seated, and the pedicure took about an hour and 15 minutes. I chose a couple of colors (a plain color and another color with sparkles), and turned out it didn't look too good, so she took the sparkles off (and you can tell she was angry, as she started to huff and puff and angrily took off all of the colors on the toes, even though I said to keep the remaining four toes as is! I didn't want to be a pain!). I let it slide, and unfortunately DID feel like I was being a pain, so I said, just make them all one color (instead of putting sparkles on top). She painted them all uniform one color, and then started on my manicure. Before she started, I distinctly remember telling her to cut my finger nails to shorten them. She started filing the nails, and then shortly after, started to buff them. Meanwhile, I could tell she was not in the best of moods, as she started clanking her instruments around as if she was getting impatient, and started being aggressive with her tools. I've gotten my nails done before, and I'm pretty sure you're supposed to cut them, and then file them (or vice versa)...but once she started buffing them and then started to give me the hand massage, that's when I knew something was up. It was apparent to me that she was upset (probably with the color mishap on the toes), and unfortunately I had to point out to her that the clear nail polish that she put on my toes came out as a big glop, and it needed to be smoothed out. It pained me to point that out to her in addition to the poor manicure that was taking place, but I had to, otherwise, it would have taken probably an hour to dry! After I saw that she was buffing my nails, I said, um, can you please be sure to cut them? She said, you said, just file them! I was like, I'm sorry. That's not what I said. As I looked at the filed nails, it was even more apparent that the nails weren't straight, there were hang nails still left, and she was already getting ready to massage my hands! I couldn't believe it. I was extremely disappointed. I am not someone who truly cares about my nails so much, but because I was getting ready for a special occasion, I wanted them to look halfway decent. I stopped her mid manicure, I got up from the chair, and said I was leaving. She said, Oh, if you had more time, I would fix them. Unfortunately, I don't believe it - even if she did try, the manicure was TERRIBLE. I had decided that I was just going to do them myself at home. The lengths were all off, she barely even smoothed out or cleaned my cuticles, and the sides of my fingernails (the skin) were unevenly cut and skimmed off - it was ALL bad. I wish I took a picture, but I was shaking. I had never experienced this type of poor service before. She charged me the full price, so I paid it, even though i was VERY against it, but I am aware that it still took time. It was just terribly done. I gave her a tip because I still wanted to be respectful for her time. None of the other workers interjected, even though I was vocal in letting her know that she terribly ruined my nails. She really did. I walked out of there, found another nail salon, and they fixed my manicure for me. Again, maybe the worker had a bad day - she kept checking her pedicure, maybe her nails were off? I don't know, but there was something very off. I share this review to let you know that if you have a bad experience, trust that. It may not turn out well. I'm just bummed because it is convenient, and all the reviews make this place seem stellar. I may have just had an unskilled staffer that had an off day. Diep has done three sets for me now and I've loved each one more and more. About two years ago I had come to perfect nails about four times and had to wait over an hour the last time. I thought I would give it another shot today. When I called to make an appointment for 11:30, the woman on the phone insisted on 11:15. I got into a pedi chair at, you guessed it, 11:30. The person who was getting me seated checked one person out then played on her phone for ten minutes before serving me. That was annoying as I could have been enjoying a chair massage not sitting in an uncomfortable folding chair. The woman who completed the pedi was nice cut my nails a bit short and made my French polish crooked. I imagine no one will noticed but me. Update: If you are trying to make same day appointments, it appears Kathy is the only one available. Kathy did my gel nails once, she did a good job but she doesnt clean her tools. She took her tools from a plastic case in her drawer, used them on me, and replaced them in the plastic case in her drawer, never cleaning them during the process. She is nice and accomidating. This shop is simply ADORABLE! The staff is friendly and charming. I made an appointment for a new set and a pedicure. My nails look awesome (check out the picture I posted of them--yes they are all mine. They grew right out of my finger tips) Again my nails look AWESOME! The pedicure included a kick arse chair massage with hot stones and warm towels to top it off. These women take the time needed to do a *perfect* job and are very friendly and talented! I would recommend that you make an appointment to ensure you can have your nails done at the exact time you want them worked on but they do take walk-ins. My new go to nail salon! Everyone here is so nice and they really listens to how you want your nail done. I'm very picky with the shape of my nails because my nails are real, but Ann definitely listened and shaped them how I want it. I had a chip finger as well and Ann was very professional fixing one of my nail with acrylics so that all of my fingers look even. I got the gel mani on my real nails and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work. The shop is clean and the staff is very friendly. I do recommend making an appointment since it can get crowded, but they take walk in as well. Also, make sure to give yourself some time because parking can be tight. Came here on a last min notice to get my nails done for a dinner gathering. Glad they had a open spot for me. I wanted to do something for the halloween month but didn't want anything to extra extra. The lady that did my nails suggested i do a cat eye in black or navy color. DAMN, it was purrrrfect. Got my nails sillito navy style with just the right amount of length since this girl gotta get some work done. The nail tech was very friendly and took her time with perfecting my nails. As I walked in I was greeted by whom I believe might have been the owner. Don't be shocked when you walk in and you're not surrounded by a beautiful nail spa type environment because its not like that whatsoever. The place is a bit untidy. The floors are just dull, the walls need some TLC, and the stations well...ummm hmmm....NO COMMENT! I came in there with my previous set which I love from my usual gal, and I asked Tiffanie to give me something new and fun. I usually get french tips with the traditional pink and white tips, but this time I wanted to try to something new. Now I've gotten a colored tip set from my nail tech before but the way Tiffanie at Perfect 1 does it is almost an art. One of my friend's always has fun colors with great little floral designs that aren't over done and her nails always look very natural! Well Tiffanie did an amazing job, though I wasn't too impressed on the environment my service was damn well. Didn't hurt a bit, she spoke English quite well with me and her speaking in a different language with the others didn't make me feel like she was talking shit about me. I definitely will be returning to her for my next fill and probably will be going back. Didn't over push my cuticle or scratch up my nail bed. My pedicure lasted for a good month, well it grew of course, but the nail polish stayed. I swear a sander couldn't get off the color!! The place is on its way to getting redone. New pedicure chairs with beautiful leather seats installed, the walls are also getting redone as well to be a little more chic and girly. I love going in to see Tiffany and Julia, well the entire staff is great. I brought my daughter in one time for my fill appointment ( and I usually leave the rugrat home so I have time to relax). The ladies were super accommodating and very sweet about her being there. They kept her entertained and didn't seem to be too rudely annoyed by her. Thank god!!! Wow! I will definitely keep coming here. I stopped by as a walk-in July 3 and was greeted by Lynn. She was so helpful even though she was busy. While I waited to be helped, she asked me what I was in for and since I wasn't sure what I wanted, she was able to recommend what I should get. I recently stopped biting my nails at 27 years old and was proud of how long they are. Only problem I have, it that because they are so brittle, they break all the time since my job requires typing and stocking shelves. On june 20, I got gel powder put on them and even though the place I went to did a bad job, it served its purpose in helping my nails grow longer. Lynn set me up with Tammy and she did a fabulous job! She was sweet and knew what she was doing. My nails look amazing and most people that compliment them, can't tell there's a thin coat of gel powder. I was going to try shellac again, but the 2 times I've had it from other salons,, they just peel off in a couple days. If you want to feel pampered for an extremely good price, come to Perfect One... Like other people mentioned, does not look like much from the outside, but once you get in there, it's hard to avoid those brownies or cookies on the left and the looks of those comfy chairs in the distance!!! My sister had all the bridesmaids for her wedding come here to get their nails done and they were very accommodating! They got us in and out no problem, and we had a very relaxing time. Other times that I have gone by myself have been great too. They use a great scrub and spend a long time on the foot massage. The smooth rock they use to top it off is just heavenly! In general they just make it a great experience, versus trying to get you in and out really fast. AND, I have never seen anyone eating their lunch IN FRONT of customers, unlike every other place I have been to. I only gave it 4 stars because a friend of mine specifically asked for a design like the one I had, and they did something completely different...not bad, just not what she had in mind. So just be very clear with your instructions on what you want. AND- cash or check only!! Annoying! Prices are very reasonable though- 23 for a pedi! I don't get manicures but I think it was only 15. As a new customer, I have no knowledge or background at all of the "OMG MY FAVORITE PEOPLE WERE FIRED" drama, but I can say this: Everyone is very nice. Christina is incredibly warm and genuine. I never got the feeling that Carla C/BFF Extraordinaire and I were anything but welcome, even though we were the last appointments of the day. Impeccable cleanliness. It was almost to the level of OCD that these ladies were sweeping and cleaning. Higher end products (read: not that Aloe Vera Lanolin standard lotion), scrub and HOT STONE MASSAGES with every manicure or pedicure (insert squeals here!). Comfortable temperature, new equipment, nothing old, gross, mismatched or broken. Tasteful decor. They bring samples of polished fake nails to you as you're soaking in the pedi chairs, complete with designated numbers for their own internal system. You don't go to the Wall o' Various Brands Nail Polish to select one here. What organization! Beautiful job on the paint and embellishments. Carla and I left lookin' and feelin' like a couple of princesses. My only beef? Cash only. Small drawbacks: the outside doesn't match the inside. If you drove by, you may be put off by the exterior and would never guess it's as nice on the inside as it is. The back rooms don't seem to be air conditioned, so I'd be hesitant to get any service beyond the mani/pedi as it was pretty stuffy. All in all, I'd recommend! These people are professionals. I have trust issues with salons and could not trust any body after my nail lady moved to San Mateo. My friend was a regular to this place and I thought I shod give them a shot. Not only they did a nice and clean shellac and pedi for me, but also they were nice and not judgmental to my messy nails. This place is awesome. I got a great mani/pedi during my hour lunch break. The place is really nice and classy inside. I liked that all the ladies wore these white coats - very professional.
