You can make your own soup bowl at this Sichuan-inspired restaurant. From $3.29/100g , choose from over 40+ ingredients from sausages, meats (e.g., lamb, beef), organ meats (e.g., intestines, tripes), seafood (e.g., shrimp, mussels) to veggies. After, you can add soup and we wanted the non-spicy broth. The chicken and fish maw soup was perfect -very rich and refreshing. I want to try the golden beef broth next time. If you want a kick, try their newest Guizhou sour soup They also have comfort food like some skewers and Tongguan-style Chinese burger. They also provide complimentary soy milk! I cannot wait for you guys to try! What we got Grilled Lamb Skewer Fried Butterfly Shrimp Skewer Tongguan Chinese Hamburger Fried Quail Skewers Customize bowl with Chicken and Fish Maw Soup

I've been meaning to visit this restaurant and finally had a chance to try. Their hotpot was pretty good. I picked the Korean army stew soup that was quite flavourful. The chicken cutlet was so juicy (honestly, all their meat items were perfectly cooked and so tender!) I'm willing to go back for their Chinese crispy burger with pork belly! Service was quick and the staff were very accommodating. Dining area was clean too.

This place is very authentic, the spicy option is very oily and spicy, extremely strong flavour just like back home. It's not for someone who can't handle spicy food or someone who just got into Chinese food. Order non spicy soup base instead. That being said, you not suppose to drink the soup, just eat what ever is put inside. If you pick the picky option, please be sure to order rice. Your stomach might be upset the next day and trips to the bathroom is common after eating from this place.

I was disappointed with their Chinese hamburger at this location because it had hardly any meat and one of the sides was burnt. It was still edible but not great like I've had at Scarborough location. The service though was excellent and the young man was very friendly. I went on a Wednesday just before noon so it wasn't busy yet. Look at my photo and see how empty the sandwich was of meat.

Didnt really know what to eat and saw this place, so i decided to give it a try. And i can say, i do not regret my decision at all The restaurant was relatively small, or very snug but service was 5/5 You start with going to the choose what you want bar and select the toppings you would like in your bowl. They do not have as much options as other malatang places, but you should still be able to find some good ones in there. Oh! And dont forget to add in their sliced beef and snakhead fish sliced when your at the cashier. These two toppings basically elevated the whole dish. It is def on the spicy end, if you cant do spicy, ask for less spicy with no numbing. So it will def warm up not only your stomach but also your tongue. Soup base are free. We got the spicy soup base with medium spicy and less numbing. Food was DELICIOUS like 5/5. I actually prefer this place over the other malatang place on YF. Oh! If you add $2.99, you get unlimited rice refills and soya milk refill. Def a deal to get full with all the starch and soya milk to lower the heat

Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Filling A buddy of mine chose this place strictly from the pictures he saw online so to say we didn't know what to expect is a bit of an understatement. Thankfully the food here didn't disappoint so he can choose where we eat again next time. The first thing you'll notice when you step into the restaurant is that it is fairly small. The tables were pretty small and close to each other so it did feel a bit uncomfortable at times. In terms of food options, the only items I really paid any attention to were the skewers and the big meat bowl. You basically order the soup base and the meat to add to it, then you go to the refrigerator and choose the rest of the ingredients to go into your bowl which is then weighed. Not knowing how spicy things were I believe we chose the medium spicy option just in case. Spoiler alert it wasn't that spicy. Overall the soup and ingredients tasted pretty good and definitely filling if you are hungry. We also ordered the chicken and beef skewers just to try them out. They were both surprisingly good with a nice crispy, well seasoned outside and soft juicy inside. I think my favourite overall had to be the chicken skewers. Oh and one more thing, it's bottomless soy milk. Enough said. In terms of service, the server was very polite and kept checking in on us and made sure we were good. There was a minor thing that annoyed us so I'm knocking the score for service down a bit. This was an interesting experience and I definitely recommend trying it at least once. I am definitely open to coming back here in the future if I happen to be in the area looking for food options.

Came here for a Saturday night. It is a really good place for hanging out casually with friend and grabbing some dinner. The place is very small and spots are limited. However the staff is very friendly and proactive unlike most Chinese restaurants. They also offer complimentary soy milk/plum drink. I think it has enough variety that you could get the or non spicy stir fried or some skewers. overall I would recommend people come and try it's a good casual place

This hot pot beef restaurant in the Toronto area is considered a pretty good hot pot beef restaurant. Like most other restaurants, they allow customers to freely choose their ingredients. We also ordered a few skewers, and the beef flavor was rich. What made me happiest is that they offer free refills of soy milk and rice, ensuring that everyone can eat to their heart's content.

I LOVE what I call "water boil fish" (It's a literal translation from the actual Chinese name of the dish). I have tried water boil fish from many different restaurants around the GTA area. Perfect Meat Bowl is "fun" because you can completely customize what you want in your bowl. It's all costed by weight, so you can get as much or as little as you'd like and choose only the toppings that you love! The spiciness level of Perfect Meat Bowl is more than other places that I've tried. My nose was running by the middle of the meal and I had to blow my nose before I could continue--my spice tolerance isn't terrible either. This is more of a takeout style restaurant, but there are a few tables if your like to eat in. There is only street parking available.

This restaurant has super cute chairs and artwork. The soup you can pick from hot, hot and sour, tomato soup or braised soup. The protein is $5.89/150g (1 person) You can choose sliced Beef, pork, fish or chicken leg. I always go for the fish. The spicy level even when is normal it's very spicy, but super tasty. After you select your soup base and protein, you can go to the stand and select other things like different squid balls, quail eggs, tofu, crab stick, spam meat and the list goes on and you bring it to the counter to weigh it. The staff will add it to your soup and protein. What is very unique at this restaurant is the squid mini skewers, the sweet and spicy marinade is addictive. The eggplant was phenomenal, how they presented it, you will think it looks like a big fried squid, but an egg plant. I can eat these two items all evening! The spice is very unique and doesn't taste like the other skewer places. Rice, soya milk $1.99 per person, free refills. I will come back again!

    Soup - spicy and sour

One of our favourite restaurants. You can customize your soup however you like and they have the most delicious skewers. Highly recommend the original chicken with the plum seasoning. Some of the servers dont speak english very well so it might be hard to communicate and get things across but it will get there eventually

I love this place so much! You can pick from a variety of ingredients and they will cook them in your chosen soup base. The spicy one is so good and addictive and the unlimited soy milk and rice ($1.99 per person) is a nice addition to the spicy food. We also order the lamb skewers all the time.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this.
