Tried both the braised chicken on rice and their braised beef on noodles. Both tasted pretty good if a bit on the salty side. You can customize the spiciness and add extra toppings through the online ordering system (which is how they take orders in the restaurant). Reminds you of home cooking. Wish the portions were a bit bigger. Not a fancy place but good for a quick meal.

I had been to 3 of Yang's Braised Chicken in GTA and this is my favorite location. Maybe just because this is more intimate and cozy? Maybe they have their own parking lot? Now you no longer can order from their menu. They don't even give you one. You better have your phone ready and scan the QR Code on the table. I really wondering what if I don't have a smart phone?? Chicken with Bones is $8.99. Good value, as nowadays it is not that easy to get a full meal for under $10. Quick simple meal that is quite satisfying.

I ordered through uber eats when they had a promo for $8 when you spend $30 which was an ok deal. It came super fast!! Like 15 mins from the moment I ordered to when I recieved it, wow! I got the boneless braised chicken, braised beef brisket, and deep fried tofu with garlic sauce. The tofu was AH-MAY-ZING like the sauce went SO well with the tofu and rice in general I could drink it...that's literally how good it was! I also know they're known for their braised chicken but I prefered the braised beef. I got both in their authentic mild spicy but I found their beef to be spicier than their chicken which was odd...but overall it could use little extra heat. I found their portions to be small for what it is but I'm not sure if that's because I got take out instead of dine-in...I also never dined in before. Taste was decent but I didn't find it to be very special. It kinda gave a more home style cooking.

Clean little restaurant in a plaza across from Costco. Service was fast and decent. Nothing to complain about here. Menu is very straight forward with choices of either boneless or bone in chicken, and now they have braised beef (limited quantities). You also can add different toppings to your chicken pot, and there is a good selection of side dishes, all at a reasonable price. Braised chicken 4/5 - I prefer the bone in version as I believe that meat with bone adds more flavour to it! But the boneless pot seems to have more chicken in it. Flavour wise, as I ordered both, is quite consistent. Nice and rich in soy flavours but very fragrant of shallots, chili, garlic etc. so the soy sauce is not overpowering but rather accented. I will say, as I am very sensitive to such umami flavours, I did find myself feeling thirsty after. Good pot of braised chicken, but the one point deducted is due to it being nothing too special or out of the ordinary, however, a great pot of chicken to eat out! Shredded Potato appetizer 4.5/5 - this is a classic dish I love to order as a chinese appetizer, and they did not disappoint! Huge portions and the potatoes have a nice crunchy texture to them as they should. The seasoning was spot on for me, not overly oily from the chili oil, and theres a subtle hint of spice. Garlic Cucumber 4/5 - super refreshing dish with tons of raw garlic, giving it a slight spiciness to it, so if you hate garlic, this dish is definitely not for you. However, for a garlic lover, it was a nice balance to relieve the heat that you might've got from the chicken pot. Popcorn chicken 3/5 - fresh and tender chicken bites with a traditional dry rub and fry. Nothing too out of the ordinary though, and I would say the chicken bites were a bit small and got slightly drier than I would have preferred. Still enjoyable but my least favourite out of what we ordered. Overall wouldnt mind coming back and trying the braised beef, also possibly to add some toppings into the chicken pot for enhanced flavour!

This is a relatively new restaurant which has taken the place of a ramen shop. (I think I did review that ramen which was quite bad, very oily broth, no AC when i visited...). Now this Yang's braised chicken is still under soft opening so hours may change. Always call to check before going. I went on a Sunday night at about 8pm. Got seated right away. It's not a big place but the seats are pretty comfortable. I think they also accept take out and I saw two non-chinese people picking up orders which I assumed from uber eats or other delivery apps. We ordered a boneless chicken, one pop corn chicken and one shredded potato for two people and it's a lot of food for two people, especially when we were not too hungry! All were pretty good especially the popcorn chicken! They claim the chicken are local Canadian chicken. Of course i can't tell if they are Canadian, I can tell it's some good chicken. Bouncy and juicy. First dish - The braised boneless chicken is $10.99 served in a pot with rice on the side. You can also choose the level of spiciness and we opt for no spice. It came sizzling hot which was good. The bone-in version was $2 cheaper but i saw that it's a plate full of bones when I looked across the other table. So i'm glad i ordered the boneless version. The whole dish was a bit salty to my liking but guess they intend for you to order the add-ons like tofu and other veggies that make help to "dilute" the saltiness of the pot. I didn't order any add-on and by default it came with some red and green bell peppers and Shiitake mushrooms. I wish this dish is less salty and the sauce to be thicker. Second dish - popcorn chicken for $5.99. It's a huge portion for snack. The chicken is tender and juicy, the batter is not thick. It comes with a thousand island kind of mayo on the side. This is our favorite! Third dish - shredded potato for 4.99. This is a good portion too. The shredded potato is crunchy. I can't taste much of garlic and it's a bit oily. But I still think it's not bad of a dish. Quite refreshing for summer time I can tell. Overall, I think the food is above average. Services was quick. Price and portion were fair. Place is clean and comfortable. Choices is pretty limited but if they can consistently deliver such quality food I would definitely come back. I believe there's another location at yonge x finch. And there's slight difference with the menu and prices (yonge x finch location has a more extensive drink menu). Cash and debit only.

Great spot for chicken rice and reasonably priced. They have an option with bone in $8.99 or boneless chicken $10.99. Both quite big in portion and comes with a big bowl of rice. You can share a bowl of rice for 2 people easily and then order some snacks. In terms of taste, it's not bad. The sauce is tasty and there are a lot of pieces of chicken in the pot. Thee is a wide variety of snack selections. Overall, it's a good spot for lunch and dinner if you are craving for chicken pot.

One pot, but nothing to wonder about. Service: The restaurant wasn't too busy on a Saturday night, and it was very small and cozy. The servers were friendly, and spoke to me in Mandarin based on my appearance. Food: The side dishes were more "wonder"ful than the main dish. The sliced beef, tripe, and ox tongue was executed well, although a bit heavy on the chili oil. It was flavoured nicely and the components were very clean and fresh. The popcorn chicken was pretty typical, with nice meaty pieces and a spicy mayo-like dip. The main dish, the braised chicken wasn't really the highlight of the meal, even though it's what the restaurant is known for. It was a good hearty dish, but to be honest, akin to other Cantonese restaurants and nothing particularly special about it. The rice was very fluffy though, and went well with the side dishes and the braised chicken. Overall: Great value for the money, but nothing to write home about (particularly the braised chicken).

Ordered their regular braised boneless chicken for takeout. Might not be anything special or flavorful enough for some people but I really enjoyed it. Simple comfort food that reminded me of my childhood! Chicken and sauce goes perfectly on rice. Portion of chicken was pretty decent portion. Husband was not a fan as he felt it was too simple in flavor and something he can easily make (fair and true). If you're looking for complex flavors, this isn't it. If you're looking for homey, comforting and simple flavors then definitely give this place a try! I could eat so much rice with this chicken and sauce combo. Yum! I would definitely order this again!

Decided to give this place a second try with their promotion last week and a lot has changed. The last time I went was in November and I clearly remembered the rice was very poor quality. This time, the rice has improved a bit - the weird taste of the rice wasn't as strong (idk how to describe the weird taste) and yellow. However, the boneless chicken was no longer in chicken pieces but rather in bits. Not sure if they changed the chicken just for the promotion, but the chicken was very tiny and it was like the size for fried rice. This pot is better called "boneless DICED chicken rice" if the chicken is going to be in bits like that. The taste of the chicken is the same, but the texture of the chicken is very different than bigger chicken pieces. Kinda feels like it's for a kids meal. See my pictures for comparison of boneless chicken size.

A little sceptical first as we heard a lot of story of this chain went from a brilliant start to a disaster, but we still decided to give it a try. The overall impression: the store is small, cozy, family like restaurant. Simple, but not lack of flavour dishes. The price is reasonable, not cheap, not too expensive, acceptable. There is only 1 waitress, busy with everything, so you can expect what kind of service that you are going to get. The spoons have a lot if marks, not sure if it is due to not cleaned properly or being too worn out. Had to ask the waitress to change one spoon, and she didn't seem to be happy about it. The food were very fast, from the time we placed the order online till we got it was like only 5 mins. The fish soup didn't feel that fresh. The chicken pot: potato and pepper was not completely cooked, but flavour wise it was ok. If they can improve on the quality of food, service and cleanness of the utensils, it has potential to expand more stores.

Pros: Amazing portions Friendly service Cons: Costs can add up if you get a lot of toppings Braised chicken rice (haung men ji) is another one of the new food crazes to come to Toronto. There are already a couple of restaurants featuring this dish opening up. My family decided to come give it a try ourselves. This location was recently a ramen restaurant which I also visited in the past. I believe I recognize some of the staff from the previous franchise working here as well. Walking in to the restaurant, the table arrangements are exactly the same as when it was a ramen place. I think I noted that wait times could be an issue because of the limited seating. Huang men ji has a quicker turnover rate than ramen but it still could get pretty busy during peak times. A party of 4 is the recommended maximum to come here in my opinion. They do not have any large tables so seating more than 4 can be a challenge. Huang men ji is essentially a chicken stew served in a earthen pot with rice. You have essentially 3 stews to choose from which are differentiated by spice level. You have a regular which is non-spicy. Authentic is one chili and spicy is 2 chilis. Bone in chicken is $8.99 and boneless is $10.99. There's a variety of toppings you can add in for $2 each. Add a couple of sides and snacks and that's the entire menu. You're coming here solely for huang men ji so it makes sense there's nothing else on the menu. We ordered 2 boneless huang men ji, one regular and one authentic. My wife added broccoli and I added potatoes and quail eggs. We also got a side of crispy chicken. The portions here are absolutely amazing. The bowl your haung men ji comes in is quite big. There's tons of chicken and whatever toppings you may have chosen. The crispy chicken was crazy big for the $5.99 price tag. I've seen places charge up to $10 and still not give you a portion as large as this place. I'm a big eater and I was totally full after leaving this place. Taste wise, the food here is pretty good. The chicken was tender but not dry at all. The taste of the broth was pretty good as well. I had chosen authentic which had one chili. It was a pretty spicy kick. I'm pretty good with spicy so it was a nice little kick. I will definitely try the spiciest version next time I'm here. The bowl itself it temperature hot so you do need to exercise caution when eating. They give any table with young children separate bowls on purpose. Overall, I really like this place. Great portions at a great price. The staff were all great and interacted with my kids in a very friendly manner. Just be careful with toppings. It can really add up if you choose a couple here and there. I will definitely be back in the future.

They are truly a "one pot wonder" as they mainly only have one main dish on their menu - the Yang's Braised Chicken Rice. You can choose whether you want the chicken to be boneless or with bone. After trying both, although the boneless one may be easier to eat, I found that the meat on the chicken with bone was actually more soft, juicy, and tender. They also added a braised beef brisket rice on their menu that I wanted to try, but it was already sold out when I went. Aside from the popular main dish that they have, they also offer many tasty side dishes. I tried their popcorn chicken and fried tofu. The popcorn chicken was super crispy and I love the sweet and sour dip that comes with it. The fried tofu also comes with some spicy garlic sauce on top which added a nice kick to it.

Enjoyed this place. Gets busy at lunch time. They can combine tables for larger group however there is only about 9 tables in total. Parking can get full at lunch. It is a croak pot chicken with rice. The rice comes on the side and you can spoon sauce into rice from the pot. Recommend : non-bone chicken for 10.99 (i eat chicken with bone and this just too much work). Quantity is extra big so no need to order sides. You should order add-ons for $2.99 (some veggies). The normal spice level is pretty spicy....recommend you telling them to make it less when you select normal. Remember this is almost a stew so the sauce is a bit salty (why i recommend a bit of veggy to offset). If you really want sides. I would choose the cucumbers or chicken wings (8 wings). The taiwanese sausage is average. The popcorn chicken is nice Also the quantity is alot. If you do not eat much, might consider getting the chicken pot and share (you can order apps including extra bowl of rice)

Our go-to order is the quintuple (5 lbs of wings; 3 flavours). We usually get 2 lbs of nero's epilogue, 2 lbs of cleopatra, 1lb of pandora's box and some beers. I think All Stars might've been the first chain wing franchise in toronto (even before Wild Wings but don't quote me on that). If you get breaded wings they always come out nice and crispy. The meat is pretty good (you'll get a dry one every so often) and there's a decent amount of sauce in most baskets (sometimes the chef has an off night and doesn't put enough sauce but he's pretty consistent). The wings aren't the biggest but they're decently sized. Is it the best wings I've had in toronto? Nope. That title would belong to King of Wings in Stouffville or the now defunct Fanzone Wings & Ribs in Scarborough. Both which have the biggest, meatiest, juiciest, crispiest wings I've ever had. But All Stars is always solid. As a chain, I much prefer them over Wild Wings tbh. The service can vary greatly lol. Each month, my friend and I get a different waitress and we've gotten some bad ones to some really good ones. It does seem like staff turnover is really high (either that or they just work the randomest, jumbled shifts) but anyways, the wings are good, the value is still there so for that a very solid 4 stars.

The Indian restaurant next door looked like it had shuttered for good, which was sad. My original thought was to hit the bakery. An even better discovery was The Wing Spot between the bakery and Service Ontario. Perfect! I walked in. There was a mom-daughter duo having lunch. I was greeted by the nicest woman. I went with the special that got me a pound of wings, chili onion fries, and pop for $19 before taxes. I got honey garlic wings. She said that I could grab any canned pop from the fridge.
