Gelder and his crew did a two part job for us. They started with weeding and hedge trimming and then put down weed block and bark. They removed a small tree and replaced some Fuchsias with Jasmine. They planted almost twenty plants we had bought at Annies Annuals. They set flagstones in a gravel base. They built a retaining wall and gravel bed for a future small shed. I had arranged for the delivery of soil and stone to the curb and they moved it all down to the back. The workers were very thorough and asked me questions and made sure I was happy with the work as it progressed. Gelder provided an accurate written estimate and the charges did not vary. The gravel base for the shed ended up larger than planned, but I was not charged extra and it looks great. I think his guys went above and beyond compared to other companies we've hired. Two workers came to work on our front yard. Their task was to dig up the previous grass, level the surface out, added weed blocker around the whole front lawn, then finally covered all of it with red mulch. Prices were very reasonable and i had nothing to complain of the work. The workers came on time, and didnt have any complains staying later to complete the job. Had a block retaining wall being pressured from the hill behind causing the blocks to separate. After five attempts to have it repaired - one company had a $10,000 minimum, one would not repair someone else's work requiring a complete dismantling and rebuilding, two who considered the job too small, one who didn't show up after our handshake - we lucked into Gelder and Perfect Landscape Services thru reviews on Nextdoor and Yelp. We made an appointment for an estimate two working days forward, he showed up right on time, saw the problem immediately, made a recommendation and an estimate and a deal was made. We also had him quote a paver walkway and we added that to the project to begin in two weeks. Magno and crew arrived at the promised time and the job was completed in four days as estimated. The crew worked their fannies off all day and the job site was clean every night when they left. The wall looks as good as new and we are so happy we decided to add the walkway. Contacted Gelder for a quote to have some soil hauled from a large planter in my back yard. He responded within a couple hours. Sent him a photo of the soil and planter in question which was sufficient for Gelder to provide estimate. He even agreed to lower his initial quote to be competitive with the other contractors that provided quotes. His guys showed up the next morning as scheduled.
