The crew pruned the pine trees

We are relatively new yard owners and the previous owners had left a few fruit trees and really nice pine trees behind. Not having a green thumb ( not even close!), we neglected the backyard for the past several months. We were looking for guidance and help and truly someone who knew what they were doing and could turn the backyard to its glory days! Enter Axel from Joshua Landscaping. He was super patient while explaining everything and was the ONLY person who spotted the bacteria on our lemon tree. He didn't oversell us on the frequency we needed given the scope of work and types of trees we have. In this day and age when everyone wants to upsell, that was great! Axel also knows the local nursery so got all the supplies, soil, fertilizer and the pomegranate tree we want. He provided a fair estimate for all the services and products The crew worked tirelessly especially given that the land used to be quarry and it is literally breaking a rock bed to plant the trees! We are super impressed and can't wait for them to come back for future green adventures!

Axel and his team were phenomenal - they really brought my vision to life and we're happy to do extra tasks that we didn't originally discuss. He was very responsive and made sure I was happy with the work along the way. Overall reasonably priced as well. I'd gladly hire him and his team again!

We had been planning our yard renovation for years. We used Yardzen for the design plans and interviewed many contracting companies to do the work. We chose to work with Axel because he understood our vision, was enthusiastic about it, demonstrated clear communication and had competitive quotes. Axel was wonderful to work with throughout the 2 month project. We had a lot of demo, installed a concrete patio, artificial turf field, new fence (on a hill), new stone/gravel pathway, mulch and rock areas, and did wall repair and painting. His team also added lots of drainage due to issues we were having during the rains. He made sure we understood what everything was going to look like and how long everything would take. When we hit a snag with the mulch installation, due to an issue out of his control, he handled it well and compromised on a new plan. We had many conversations throughout the project and Axel is a friendly guy who loves his work. His team of guys were really nice to work with also. We are so happy with our new yard and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Happy poodle laying on the new turf !

My favorite part about the experience I just had with Joshua Landscaping is that they were quick and to the point, all the way from the first phone call I made to them, to the timing of the job. We solidified the scope, cost, and timing within 1-2 days and then the following day they showed up with 4 people to get it done. Our small turf area was done in 2 days and it looks wonderful! Our puppy loves it!

From the first call, their communication was clear and professional The craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. The final product was even more beautiful than I had envisioned! If you're looking for custom iron work, metal gates, or modern steel designs, I highly recommend IVS Iron Works. Thank you to the team for delivering such a great result!

Ignacio, who came for the site visit and identified himself as the owner, was very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. However, Jackie, (not clear to me if she's the co-owner or Ignacio's wife) finalizes pricing and pretty much runs the show. For our project, we had picked IVS to do the work, but the price kept increasing by thousands of dollars. I asked to speak with Ignacio since these changes were inconsistent with what I discussed with him and put them week above our other quotes, but Jackie said that's not necessary since she decides the pricing. They also charge tax on materials, which no other fencers do (since they're already paying tax to Home Depot, etc.). These business practices felt disingenuous to me and like bait and switch. I've had issues in the past with businesses like this that once the work begins they'll change order you again and ask for more money. So we did not use them. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range and IVS was around $12K. All were licensed and bonded. We went with the lowest quote and are extremely happy with our fence.

Joe, Miguel, and team at Expert Gate Company have been great to work with. The scope of our project…read morewas in two parts: replace our driveway gate and make it powered, and then later replace the front fence and pedestrian gate, this time incorporating a built-in parcel box and security hardware. Expert Gate's craftsmanship is rock solid and we're really happy with the results. We live on a downslope hill with MANY utility lines underground to literally work around. It was a complicated project that required an entirely custom fabrication to follow the grade of the ground, with posts in really specific positions. We worked with Joe as our Project Manager, and throughout the process he was attentive and receptive to feedback, quote negotiations, and design requests along the way. There were 3 things that popped up over the duration of the project. We kept having issues with the gate operator that took longer than anyone wanted to deal with. It ended up being a series a faulty parts from Liftmaster, and nothing to do with the installation from these guys. Additionally, there were a couple of details that I wish were incorporated into the quotes, such as measurements and design mockups (we had to talk about a couple of things and make decisions in real time, which could have been mitigated if we had more specifics on the quote & planning process). Finally, the overarching project time for the front fence did take a little longer than expected. We had to have the front of the house in a bit of a construction state for a few weeks, but ultimately the end result is polished and very well executed, and we're happy with how everything turned out. Those minor issues aside, were still glad to have worked with EG and will gladly work with them in the future. Thanks again to Joe, Miguel, and the crew!

Update: found someone else who was able to fix everything without moving the posts at all. Insanity…read morethat I was going to let these guys swap out my aluminum posts for iron posts that wouldn't even match my gate. So I ask again, what are these guys experts at? Initial experience was bad. Sales guy came, was short with me, seems uninterested. Promised to give a quote. Waited 4 days. Didn't get a reply. I wrote a bad review and moved on. Owner contacted me asking me to remove the review and he can help me out with my gate job. I needed someone to help fix a botched gate install job so agreed. The job was to remove two existing posts and replace it with new steel posts. The price quoted for TWO posts were not cheap. He seems to think he's doing me favor for labor only but it was not cheap. It cost the same amount as the full job by the other company for the full install. I'm OK with it because at that point I wanted a job to be done by someone who knows how to do the work. Of course, I found out the reason they're expensive because they SUBCONTRACT to another company that specializes in gates. Are they the expert or is the subcontractor the expert? Nevertheless, I waited a week and a half for the scheduled date. The night before, he text me and ask if I have two steel posts that they need. They quoted me a very high amount to fix two posts but does not provide the materials for the fix. These guys are supposed to be experts in STEEL gates but do not have the materials for STEEL. So what are they experts in? Subcontracting? Reselling gate install service? What irritates me is that he sprung this on me at the last moment the day before. Our conversation was that the quoted price includes labor and materials to fix except for the extra materials that are needed that are ALUMINUM which I purchased. The fact that he asked me to provide STEEL materials at the last possible moment was maybe because (a) he misquoted me or (b) the subcontractors wanted more money to do the work. In any case, I cancelled the job. I cannot trust a company that bait and switch. If you misquote, then you own the difference, not spring it on your customer at the last moment.
