We hired Jose from Casimiro Landscaping to pour a slab in our backyard. Jose is genuinely joyful and kind person, he and his team are easy to work with, have competitive pricing and do a wonderful job. They left the site clean and the slab looks great. I highly recommend Casimiro Landscaping. read more

We used Jose and his team to remove and haul out old sod and gopher wire. Jose was easy to work with. His quote was really competitive. He was able to schedule quickly. They arrived on time and did the project in the scheduled time (1day.) The work was comprehensive and everything was cleaned up well. I would definitely work with them again. read more

Updating with after photos. We really enjoyed working with Jose, and would 100% hire him again. Very honest, fair, and performs high quality work (especially for hardscaping and structural items like decks, retaining walls, pavers, drainage, etc). Note: I had a LOT of "so sorry, actually can we do this instead?" (Which would then continually change over the next 3-4 days as I thought through the design.) Jose was very patient and accommodating but also gently pushed back if certain things were not a good idea or in my best interest. He also completed both the initial demo and the final planting, irrigation + gravel stages while we were out of town. Granted, it would've been easier if I were there in person to fine-tune the details and place things just right, but it was amazing to come back to the finished design. I genuinely felt like he wanted to do his best work and deliver on making the backyard exactly what we envisioned, and he did! Thank you SO MUCH, Jose!! read more

We had a giant backyard in West Oakland that had been mostly neglected for the last 2 years, we needed someone who could cut it back HARD, prune back a wisteria and fruit trees, check irrigation and then mulch the heck out of it. Jose was great to work with and gave me a reasonable quote. We will definitely hire him again to now maintain so it doesn't get that bad again. read more

José has done a couple fence projects for us, plus a concrete sidewalk and patio and a concrete pad for a garden shed. He has always been diligent and fair, and I've been very happy with him. read more

Jose offered great price and exceptional work. Will save his number for more future projects.

They were quick with responding and scheduling a time to come to my house for an initial consultation. However, they did not show up at the time/day we had clearly confirmed. There was no follow up or apology. I didn't follow up with them further since no-showing for an initial consultation was an indication of their availabiilty. They probably do great work when they work on projects but they need to work on being clear about not being available. read more

Jose Casimiro did two landscaping projects for us in the last 3 years. In Berkeley, they installed brand new fences and pedestrian gates, deck, artificial turf, concrete walkways, and string lights over the patio. In Moraga they installed new xeriscape, concrete walkways, artificial turf, and repaired our French drain. They did a great job in both cases. Not only did they do a quality job, they were courteous to the residents, kept job site organized, and stayed on budget. I would definitely hire them again. read more

We had a recent project landscaping backyard up on a hill. There was an initial plan. Once the project started, we changed the plan quite a lot, including adding a deck, changing step location, and many others. Jose is very flexible and has a good attention to details. His team delivered good quality works and has very fair cost for any changed works. Highly recommended. Jose's very strong on any wood works. For someone who wants to choose among multiple options, it will be good to know Jose's extra edge in wood works. read more

We were extremely satisfied with Jose and his family business, Casimiro Landscaping Services. We bought our house in Oakland in 2024 and it had the 'realtor's flip' yard of weed cloth and black-dyed mulch which was unattractive and unusable. We also had the need/desire for a small deck off our back 'mudroom' door to give us a little deck space and to correct the hazardous stairs out of the mudroom which did not have a landing. Jose worked with us to turn our dream of a yard into a reality! They did the following: constructed redwood deck off back mudroom, removed and stump ground two trees to make room for fence replacement, replaced old rotting fence with new redwood fence with gable over the gate expanding our yard, installed DG patio with flagstone, and old pavers left over from previous owner, laid out a small lawn patch for the kiddo, and installed irrigation drip system with two valves, plus tubing to all our plants. They also built us a beautiful planter box, laid in three large posts that we can make a future pergola on, and two of the posts we are using for a hammock, AND they installed a french drain on the side of our house where we get water intrusion in the winter time. Jose and his crew (which consists of his son and son and law) can do it all! Jose has a cool and composed demeanor and personality, and was very patient with us as we decided on the finer project details as we went along. Very adaptable and accomodating, and just all around professional. We would definitely hire Jose again and would recommend him without reservations for your yard beautification project! Quality work and reasonable / affordable price! read more

Jose and his team installed an entirely new yard for us, starting with what was left after 16 tons of concrete were ripped out. It was worth getting ahold of him! Based on our design plan he was able to quote a very fair price via text, for all the various pieces we needed done. His team rototilled the rock hard clay across the whole space, amended it with clodbreaker and good quality soil, and installed a dry set flagstone patio, decomposed granite area, metal edging, underground sprinklers, and redwood garden boxes. They also took care of boulders, planting, drip lines, and mulch. The crew was very friendly and professional, keeping the site clean every day, and doing quality work at a great value. I will definitely reach out to them for any future needs or projects! Highly recommend. read more

Jose and his crew did several projects on our property over a 3-4 month period recently. I found Jose very helpful, easy to communicate with and very responsive. Jose and his crew did a nice job on replacing a fence I share with my neighbors. They were quick, efficient, reliable! Did a nice professional job. My big old dog had somehow been escaping from my backyard and about an hour later would appear at my front door. Turned out he had been pushing through a few boards that were rotting but not visible. Jose's crew did a quick fix for me on the day they came to do the estimate by nailing up some plywood I had to keep my doggie from escaping. I was very grateful for that. They did not want to accept $ but they had to haul the heavy plywood up my steep rough hill, had a nail gun etc. I insisted on giving them some $. Jose was great at communicating with me and my neighbors. read more

Jose and his crew have done a couple of projects for us with great results! Most recently they transformed our deck railing from a tired, old wooden structure to a gorgeous and sleek wood/wire look and we couldn't be happier with the result! When the project began, they quickly discovered that our previous railing was not secured properly and was an accident waiting to happen with single bolts and decaying half-posts holding it together. They installed new full posts and reinforced it with extra wood and double bolts. We feel much safer now and it looks fantastic. They are very responsive and even stopped back to make some minor tweaks and fixes. We will definitely use them for future projects! read more

Casimiro Landscaping did a beautiful job landscaping our front and side yard. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of Jose and his staff. They arrived on time and worked very hard. One couldn't ask for finer workmanship. We live in the wildland urban interface, hence the need to have at least 5 feet of pebbles between the house and rest of the yard. Jose understood immediately what our objective was in terms of fire safety. We look forward to having his team work on some other projects now that we know how efficient and competent they are. Very reasonable in terms of cost for such excellent work. Highly recommend! read more

We recently had our front yard done by José (Casimiro Landscaping). We are extremely pleased! The communication was great from start to finish, the process was smooth, and the final result was exactly what we were hoping for. It took me a long time to find someone whose work I enjoyed and could afford, so I'm glad we finally came across Casimiro Landscaping. I've already recommended them to friends and neighbors and when I'm ready to have my backyard done, I'll definitely work with José and his crew again! read more

I can't recommend Jose's services at this point. We had a hog panel fence out in our front yard at the beginning of summer. While we had a few issues with some of the workers work, Jose did come to resolve when I called. The price was great, so I was willing to over look that annoyance. One of the gates was out of square and the hinge failing, so Jose came back to fix that the following month. Fast forward to October and then now, and we have some significant issues. Many of the posts are not fully aligned with the others, and are not plumb. After the October rain, the front gate swelled, and is also no longer square (they did not build with a diagonal cross support), so it rubbed and was not operable. We called Jose to hopefully repair, but he didn't return the call. I just did a quick trim on it so people could enter and exit. Now the side gate is also rubbing like the front. Again, no return to call. I understand these things happen, but should have been built to accommodate and wood swelling, built square and also plumb. I would have hoped to have had a contractor that stood behind their work within this timeframe, and that would have returned calls. This is disappointing as we have much more landscaping and fencing to be done. Glad that other customers have had a better experience. read more

Jose and his team helped us transform our yard by replacing the grass with paths and drought tolerant plants. We moved into our new house with a huge side yard on a fairly steep hill. The steps down the hill were unsafe and scary to walk down since they were makeshift stairs from paving stones. Jose provided suggestions and cost effective options to make the space more functional. He and his team were not only able to make walking down the hill feel more safe and secure but they look great. His team also leveled out a lot of the hill removing 5 yards of dirt so that we could make the space more functional as a sitting area. He was very pleasant to work with and very professional and provided updates on a regular basis and let me know if any issues came up. I highly recommend his services and we will be using him for more work in our yard this summer. read more

Jose is honest, smart, and hard working. We needed to re landscape our yard ASAP, as my dog kept getting into poison oak, which I am very allergic to. Jose literally came out the next day and made all types of recommendations and thought of things we never would have like drainage and drip lines. His pricing was very fair and you could tell he is completely invested in making sure his clients are happy. Jose will ensure your project is done right and will even come back if you have small issues! I think I blew a fitting off my drip line and Jose came back the next day to fix! Then some Voles started digging under my Turf ( they are destroying it :/) and Jose is coming out again to provide a solution. He is all about making his clients happy! Go with Casimiro landscaping and you can sleep sound at night knowing you are getting a fair price for excellent quality work! read more

It was such a pleasure to work with Jose and his crew. They are hard working, punctual and easy to work with. Our backyard had bare ground, broken stairs, and tilting walls, it started to become hazardous. Jose and his crew build new stairs, new retaining wall and pave the ground, all was done in two weeks. They paid a lot of attention to the details, eg. hiding the dripping irrigation tubing. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them! read more

we had such a great experience working with Jose and his team last year on a retaining wall in our back yard that we asked them to come back and work on our deck. The project included replacing a bunch of rotted boards and washing and staining the whole thing. They were efficient and had great attention to detail. They were also respectful of our space despite the deck requiring through-house access. We're really happy with the work and found Jose wonderful to work with a second time. They even help reinforce a wobbly handrail leading up to the house at no extra cost. Above and beyond! read more

Loved that they showed up in masks, as safety is number one right now during Covid. Jose and his crew worked hard and made our little areas in our backyard amazing. Casimiro Landscaping did a wonderful job landscaping my front yard. Jose and his team transformed a yard full of weeds and dead grass into a beautiful yard that I'm very pleased with. I didn't want too many plants to start off with, my only other request was to incorporate rocks I previously purchased into the landscaping, Jose came up with the design. Jose and his team are very hard working, everything was kept nice and tidy during each day, which I really appreciated. I think the price is fair, I highly recommend Casimiro Landscaping. It's been a week since Jose and his crew finished installing flagstones and pavers in our backyard and we are very happy with their work. Initially, we were going to hire another contractor we worked with before but they weren't available soon enough and we were rushing to have our patio finished within three weeks. We took a leap of faith with Casimiro Landscaping because they were available right away. I'm glad we went with them. His crew worked very hard prepping the ground and individually cutting each flagstones to fit like a puzzle. The finished flagstone area and a separate pavers area came out beautiful. Jose was present everyday and made great suggestions to improve the drainage of our backyard and didn't charge us extra for the additional work they did. Jose is great to work with, very friendly, professional, nice guy and gives us daily updates on their progress. We look forward to working with him again on future backyard projects. read more

Jose and his team are honest, skilled, dependable, and hardworking. We needed a fence built on top of an old slightly sagging and tilted, 3 ft high, on a slope, concrete retaining wall. We moved into a house that requires a lot of improvements not only aesthetically but also for safety concerns. I requested free quotes from 12 companies and Jose gave me the most reasonable and quick response. Jose and his team showed up early in the morning everyday to get the job done under time. I first hired him to redo the patio, retaining wall, mulching and cleaning up the garden. They did such an amazing job that it made the walkway look very poor but since doing the walkway wasn't included in my original plan, I didn't want to spend too much on it. Jose was very creative and proactive in suggesting different options by showing me pictures and ideas that I could feel comfortable agreeing on doing extra work, which turned out beautiful. All works took only two weeks. After we did the lawn patches, he and his team showed up in few days to replace some of the brown and unhealthy patches and make sure all the area in the lawn is beautifully covered in green. Thanks to Jose and his team's hard work, my backyard looks beautiful and safe, and now I can freely let my kid play and have guests come over for BBQ. I highly recommend Jose and I'll absolutely work with him again if I have other projects. read more

Jose was a pleasure to work with. I contacted him on a Monday and he came out the same day for an estimate. We reviewed what needed to be done. I had a couple of sprinkler heads that needed repair, a lawn pulled out to replace with mulch and fill in work on my patio. Jose brought samples out of various mulch and made suggestions. I received his quote later that evening and he started work that Thursday. He brought out a crew of three men and himself. They were so fast, yet efficient, clean and thorough.
