4 stars for quality work. 0 stars for ethical business practices I hired Melvin and George from La Económica Landscaping after receiving a written estimate from their coordinator, Cindy, for work that included: * Garden clean-up & hauling - $1,375 * Mulch + small brick installation (combined) - $650 Total: $2,025 And a recurring monthly maintenance fee at $200 The crew did a nice job with the clean-up. Their labor and craftsmanship were good. However, the way this business operates is extremely concerning. Even though the scope was clearly defined both verbally and in writing, the owner later tried to change the terms of the estimate, claiming parts of the agreed-upon work were "mistakenly included." Throughout the process, there were multiple "gotcha" moments, surprise clarifications, shifting explanations, and attempts to downplay what was originally promised. Despite the written estimate explicitly listing a "mulch + small brick installation (combined)", the brick installation was never completed. When I followed up, they claimed it had been a "mistake" in the estimate and refused to honor that part of the agreement. Communication became defensive, taunting, and unprofessional, and rather than resolve the situation collaboratively, the owner sent a $300 refund before we had even reached an agreement, then canceled my ongoing maintenance service altogether. It's disappointing, because the work quality itself was solid. But their business ethics and communication practices are sketchy. They seem more focused on short-term profit than building long-term relationships or standing by their written commitments. They told me the brick feature would enhance the look of my garden. I guess I'll never find out. If you decide to hire them, make sure every detail is documented and signed. Otherwise, expect last-minute changes and confusion about what you actually paid for. read more

Landscaping La Economica is the best of the best! I've rarely worked with any company that is so communicative, skilled, and dedicated. Both my front and back yard needed a lot of work. They were both overrun with weeds and had dead plants. The weed cloth and mulch were old and weathered. I called Landscaping La Económica and their response time was lightning fast! There isn't any game of phone tag, swapping voicemails endlessly. I texted them some pictures of what was going on in my yards, and I was able to easily communicate with them via text at any time. This team is prompt, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. They pulled all the weeds and dead plants, and trimmed away all the dead underbrush. They planted many beautiful flowers and bushes, and replaced the weed cloth and put down new mulch. They repaired my fence, power washed all the concrete, augmented my irrigation system, and removed some junk from my back yard. The job was completed sooner than anticipated, with incredible results, and at a more than fair price. They were very collaborative with me, and were so flexible and patient as my plans evolved. Melvin, the owner, is a landscaping mastermind. There were some old flagstones that I wanted removed from in front of my front porch. When Melvin asked what I wanted to do with them, I shrugged, "I don't know." Melvin repurposed the stones as a design element in the front yard, which I simply love! My advice to anyone looking for a company that is committed to making their landscaping dreams come true is to call Landscaping La Economica. I do not recommend this company. The person who came out to provide a quote was disrespectful and laughing at the state of my yard. I would never do business with a company that lacks basic respect. If the quality of their work is anything like the quality of their professionalism it speaks volumes. I'm not sure who responds to these reviews because the person who came out could barely speak 5 words of english but clearly uses AI to write an "apology" after being incredibly disrespectful. read more

We've been using this company for basic yard maintenance for a while. So we asked them to quote for a larger project that involved renovating our front and back yard with new mulch, installing new wood edging, power washing our brick patio, fixing uneven bricks, and adding a paved area for our dog. We had such a great experience with Melvin and his crew. Our property had a lot of weeds, various grasses growing everywhere you can imagine, overgrown trees, dead branches, plants that needed thinning and pruning, and overgrown bushes growing around our property. It was all becoming overwhelming for us to manage. La Economica crew came in and took care of everything in a day. They were diligent and very mindful of how much we wanted to cut plants back, they checked in with us continuously to show progress. They took care of things we didn't realize needed care. Our yard looks stunning and we are so happy to be able to enjoy it again. We are going to have La Economica back to add mulch to our yard and hope to have them back in the future.
