Tsering took our small, weirdly shaped, overgrown backyard and transformed it into a functional piece of art--all in only four weeks! We are so happy that our son will be able to enjoy it for years to come. Tsering is not just a contractor, but an artist and a craftsman. He does everything from start to finish. He provides a glimmer of his vision early on, in a simple one-page design. Once he starts working, he refines that vision and brings it to life with his amazing team. At the end of each day, we were shocked at how much they got done and at the quality of the craftsmanship. Tsering takes incredible pride in his work. After designing and building a beautiful fence for us, he geeked out over some of special hardware he installed to make it extra secure (and we otherwise would not have noticed). Moments like that came up during each phase of the project. Tsering also used the best materials, even when left to his discretion. He purchased more Ipe wood, poured more concrete, and even bought a bigger maple tree than in the estimate. (He did not charge us extra.) During the course of our project, Tsering also found many ways to improve our backyard (and home) that went beyond the scope of the project. He re-stucco'd an old balcony, re-did the weatherproofing of an old door, sawed through several busted lockboxes, and added an extra little Ipe wall. Because he was ahead of schedule on the project, he didn't charge us for any of it (not even materials). We've attached a few before and after photos, but they honestly barely do justice to his work. Tsering is one of a kind. If you want a backyard that looks like his portfolio, you should hire him. We are hoping that one day we'll be able to get on his calendar for our front yard as well.

I talked to Paul one day, the next day I had a full estimate of the entire job at a super reasonable price, the next day the crew came out, they were the nicest guys ever, scoured the backyard to the dirt and removed 60 feet of rotten fences in two days, and in a week, had replaced the fences, and installed weed barrier and mulch over the whole backyard. How many times does a contractor get the job done in half the time?!? Crazy good. Plus I had a bunch of low voltage lighting out there that needed replacement and Paul helped me find a great set of new fixtures, again at a super reasonable price and will be installing them himself. Really one of the easiest, speediest and most reasonably priced house jobs ever. Highly recommend.

John was very professional, communicative, and his pricing was very fair and transparent. Throughout the project, John and his crew went above and beyond, providing additional value. What particularly impressed me with John was his creativity and eye for design, which was very helpful when setting up this project. He had ideas on the layout & plants to select from. I have a large and unique garden so John and I had a very good chat about the work I've done on it. I think he is genuinely very passionate about what he does. The price per foot (same materials, design) were: $120, $145, $179, $222. I've found that when it comes to fencing and landscaping, there is a huge range of vendor prices (and personalities!) So it's best to get multiple quotes. John was the $179 quote, but he followed up with me and offer to renegotiate the price after learning he was on the higher end. I feel that he would have done a good job, but my neighbor and I were also happy with the other quotes we received.

He already works on my mom's garden, which is breathtakingly beautiful, and for my birthday she split the cost with me to have him work his magic at my house. I know very little about such things so I really trusted him and his vision, and I am so grateful. He was very attentive to my tastes and listen to my ideas. He often gave me options to choose which I liked best. Very quickly we were on the same page about all of the little things that would make me happy. When the first estimate was a little higher than my budget, he pared it down and we focused on the most important areas - and he was still able to make it totally beautiful. Keith was a pleasure. He has a quiet demeanor. He and his assistant were super respectful and it was clear right away that they really care about doing everything right. He stuck to the schedule, he worked super hard and it was immediately evident that he is someone who is very proud of his work, regardless of the size of the project. I'm actually saving money so I can hire him again to add some of the things that were outside the scope of last year's project. They installed an irrigation system and showed me how to program the timer, but honestly I haven't had to touch it. It just works. Everything grew. Everything still looks healthy and gorgeous. It's really the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really proud of my garden, and it really is the result of Keith's vision, Keith's design and Keith's implementation. He's SO GOOD! I wrote them back within an hour or two to confirm. Nothing. Wrote them again on the day they were supposed to show up and they said they can't come to the appointment and offered appointments I couldn't do. These people really need to get better at communication and customer service.

In 2023 I vowed to myself that I would have a functioning irrigation system by the end of the rainy season/start of summer. I reached out and started getting quotes - one of them was from Green Sunsets (Daniel). He was prompt when he came by for the quote and it was clear that he had extensive knowledge of planning and setting up irrigation systems. He ended up quoting me for a). a new system vs. b). going in and troubleshooting the existing system which I appreciated. His quote was reasonable and he was patient and thorough with me when I had a few followup questions - I ended up moving forward with Daniel to do the work. He was able to get me on his calendar pretty quickly and the whole job ended up taking about 3-4 days. Daniel had a team of workers to help him - his team was hard working and I appreciate that Daniel was also present for all of the days and directly checked the new system as it was installed to verify that everyting was set up correctly. In addition to the irrigation work, my yard was also very overgrown - Daniel and his team also did great work for me at the same time in removing a broken trellis, removing pesky vines, and pulling out a bunch of overgrown plants and bushes. Fast forward one year to spring 2024. After the rainy season ended (and irrigation system needed to be used) I noticed that there were a few breaks/leaks in the tubing/lines. I reached out to Daniel to ask about and he came by to my home. My initial thought was that either thirsty squirrels or our gardener had broken a few of the lines. Daniel assessed and came to the same conclusion, but since it was a fairly small task offered to help fix at no charge (even though the leaks were caused by our gardener). Daniel's work left me as a very happy customer and I am happy to recommend Green Sunsets.
