I had an artificial turf installation and tree root removal project with Guzman few weeks ago. Rene's crew did an excellent job removing the tree root underneath the cement and replacing it with a new slab that has a clean, well-finished look. For the turf portion, I communicated with him in advance about the specific brand I wanted, and understand clearly on what steps he will do on the project. The installation was carried out well with minimal supervision. Overall, they delivered a solid project at a fair price, and I had good communication with Rene throughout the entire process as well. I have recommended him to some of my friends who plans to have backyard projects. If you are looking for one, would recommend to reach out to him as well. read more

I can't say enough good things about Rene and his team at Guzman Landscaping. Our backyard was full of wild plants and weeds, plus three trees that needed to be removed. We also needed some large trash items hauled away. We got quotes from several companies, but Guzman Landscaping offered the best price by far. What really impressed me was how quick and courteous they were. The whole job took only two days, and since they had to pass through my in-laws' area to get to our backyard, they carefully laid down protective coverings to keep the carpet and furniture safe. Throughout the process, they kept the workspace clean, which made a big difference to us. If you're looking for reliable landscaping help, I'd definitely recommend Rene and Guzman Landscaping. They do great work at a great price and treat your home with respect. They'll be my go-to for any future yard projects! read more

*** update Rene wanted me to remove this review as he says he did the job. I went under foundation, dug more myself, and found continuing root. So no he did not do the job. I will now need to hire someone else to continue the job or continue chipping away myself and I lost $550. Thanks Rene. :( Hired Rene to take care of a tree root that was found underneath my house foundation. Rene quoted me $750 to total to take care of the tree root from my house all the way to the tree directly so it wouldn't be growing. He told me he would do a deal $550 if I paid cash. This was digging to about 20 feet of tree root out to get to the tree. When the day came, the root actually ended up being short, as in the root is actually underneath the house and grew out from out of the house. Did that change the work? Rene ended up not going directly to the tree root, explained trees would have to be cut nearby, quoting me $3,000. However, for today's work still $550. ???? Like he didn't take care of problem, I still have a tree root under my house, he just cut the part I revealed. I could have done that with a chainsaw. I let him know I wouldn't be hiring for anything again. read more

Rene and his team transformed our busted, gross patio into a beautiful oasis. He is courteous, professional, and reasonable. In fact, he fixed my broken sprinklers even though that wasn't part of our deal. Before laying the sod, he also had to remove gravel the previous contractor left behind. The sod he selected is a rich emerald, very high quality, and we couldn't be happier. I plan to hire his team for all our future landscaping projects. read more

Rene and his team was able to come out and give a quote, then complete the pruning of a palm tree same day. Based on other quotes, the price was more than fair and they did an excellent job cleaning up after. Would recommend and would hire again! read more

Quick response, timely to arrive, efficient, pro work w/perfect clean up, fair prices, excellent communication. I don't know what more you could want. Rene and his team removed about 7 years worth of dead palm leaves from high up in our tree way above the roofline. Just great. read more

The first thing I want to say is that there was a miscommunication with the price that had me pay $1,000 more than I thought I had to pay. However, I do NOT think it would be fair to factor that into the review score. So, the score is based solely on the quality of the service and the value of the service. The quality of the service was very good. I have no complaints about it. They arrived when they were supposed to, did the job in a timely manner, and did an excellent job of clean-up. I would give the tree pruning/cutting service 5 out of 5 stars. The value was not very good, however. I paid $1,650 for a service that I had quotes from four other companies, who all had 4.5+ star review scores on Yelp, for $700, $700, $750, and $850. So, I would give the value 1 out of 5 stars. For those wondering why I went with the service that was $950 or more than 2X my lowest quotes, that's where the miscommunication came in. I thought I heard him say $650 and thought the number he wrote on the post-it note was "650". Upon completion of the service, he said it was one thousand six-hundred fifty. And upon closer inspection of the post-it, there is a clear "650" in the center of the note, but about an inch to the left of the "650" and maybe a quarter of an inch above that number, there was a "l" slash that was probably the number one. It was just nowhere near the "650". Ultimately, I think this falls on me. I should have confirmed the quote via the Yelp messaging system so it'll be clear as night and day and have a digital footprint. It just sucks because I didn't have that much money and had to borrow from a friend to make sure I had enough to cover the check in my bank account (been a rough past 5 years...). While I won't be using Guzman Landscaping again because even though I fault myself for the miscommunication, it just left a bad taste in my mouth. That said, I don't think it should stop you from giving them a shot because the quality of work was good. It'll just come down to whether or not their quote is something you feel comfortable with and are happy with. read more

I'm so lucky I found these guys on Yelp! They were responsive, professional and did an awesome high quality job with my front yard and backyard. They listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered flawlessly. It had been raining a lot in SF so we had uncontrollable weeds and overgrown plants. Hired them to replace the front yard and part of the backyard with red lava rocks and grayish white stones. They brought the material. The job was completed on time, however the quality of material (rocks and stones) is bad. It's been 1.5 months since the job was completed, the lava rocks have lost color and look dull. We realized after a few days of rain that the lava rocks they gave is actually a mix of a few lava rocks and more cheaper ugly gray rocks. The stones are also a mix which showed the true color after the rains. The owner refused to take any responsibility, said 'not my fault'! read more

My landscaping project was completed today by Guzman Landscaping. The project involved tree trimming and invasive tree removal, laying new pavers, installing new drips, and power washing concrete paving. The job was completed timely and professionally. I am very happy with the quality of work, the service provided and the overall cost. Rene is approachable and we met regularly on each day to discuss the progress of work. Rene and his Crew were able to fit me in their schedule right away. It was only because of weather that they did not do it the day after they gave me the estimate. The whole project only took about 4 hours including clean up. I was amazed! I would highly recommend Guzman Landscaping! They were all very nice and the price was right. read more
