Erick and his team provided a fair quote to help with my backyard paver project. Medium, 300 sq ft project- he gave me good expectations of price and timeline and even offered to redo some of the work I began to proper code. His team was fast and friendly and I will definitely work with him again. read more

Erik and his team truly went above and beyond. Erik showed up right on time every day, managed the workflow seamlessly, asked thoughtful clarifying questions, and paid close attention to detail throughout the project. He's extremely easy to work with--open to ideas, collaborative, and focused on making sure everything is done right. He proactively troubleshot a few minor issues I hadn't anticipated during the paver installation and absolutely nailed the final outcome. The pavers were installed properly with correct base and layering for a drive-rated surface. He also completely re-landscaped our front yard, added rock where needed, and built a retaining wall--all executed with care and precision. On top of the quality of work, his pricing was very fair and transparent for the craftsmanship and effort involved. Erik is licensed, dependable, and clearly takes pride in doing landscape work the right way. He genuinely made our house look new again. We plan to use him for our yearly cleanups as well. Such a pleasure to work with--I highly recommend Erik and his team. read more

I reached out for a Spring Cleaning. The company's response time was very quick. I met one of the owners Erick who walked around the property, attentively listened to my needs and scheduled his crew to arrive within a few days. They did a fantastic job. Every concern I had they took care of. The crew was respective of my property and I was very happy. I reached out to Erick and asked for a quote to re-do my back yard. It took about 3 days total for the demo work. They put in pavers, planted pet friendly bushes and laid down artificial grass. They replaced the mulch with rocks. Erick and his crew were very respectful, detailed and worked hard. Erick communicated each day making sure I was happy or if I had any concerns or questions. He listened and came up with suggestions to address my concerns. The company takes pride in their work. I highly recommend this company to do maintenance OR do a yard re-do. You won't be disappointed!! read more

Very pleased with what Erick and his team did with our front and back yard! He was very quick to respond and give an estimate. His estimate was reasonable and the work was well worth the cost. His team completed all of the work in 2.5 weeks. He was very communicative throughout the design process - providing options, samples and his own recommendations. He checked in before moving forward with certain steps in the process and was flexible when I changed my mind on certain aspects of the design. Would highly recommend his team! read more

Erick and team have completed another project for me. This time, digging out my 10yr Buddha Belly Bamboo! 4 days of intense digging and chopping away. The Emmanuel Landscaping team took great care removing ALL of the roots and soil! They also carefully separated the intact roots and rhizomes so that they can be transplanted into containers. They worked full days, cleaned up very well, and were very pleasant. If you want a team that fully understands your goal, delivers timely, and exceeds expectations...this is your crew! I had 2 very short notice requests. I needed someone to help me catch up in the garden, and I wanted to have my fence stained. Within a week. Erick responded quickly, visited and provided a reasonably priced quote within 24 hours. His team were hard working, courteous and did wonderful work which was completed 2 days before my deadline. When I had submitted the request, I thought I had left it too late, they made it happen for me and I could not be more pleased. I will be using Erick and his team again. I highly recommend them. I reached out to Erick for a somewhat small job of pulling weeds in both the front and back of my house including cleaning the driveway of dirt and weeds plus trimming bushes in my front landscaped area. He was the first to respond and come over for an estimate the very next day! I had 3 other estimates in the span of a week and after discussing with my husband we agreed not only was Erick's price the most fair but the scope of work was far superior to the rest in our area. He came the very next day after we agreed to work with him and his crew and I'm very pleased! I can be very meticulous when it comes to home projects and Erick and 2 of his guys came on time ready to get the job done! He also showed up at the beginning and checked in with me at the end to ensure I was happy with the work and made minor adjustments as needed. I am including some before and after photos. I recommend you hire them for your next yard home project. read more

WOW! From start to finish, Eric and his team were spot on. Communication throughout the project was excellent. Considered a small project (Townhome backyard, removal of a rotted deck and raised planter area), many paver companies wouldn't even entertain my request. Valdes Pavers came out, gave me a quote and even with two months of delay waiting for HOA approval, he eventually scheduled the project and completed the job in one week. I discussed a downspout drain that doesn't drain properly prior to the start of the project and that we have been fighting our HOA for over two years. Several plumbers have come out but could not fix the issue. He said he would 'investigate' it since the deck was being removed. VP eventually dug up the the pipe, found the breach and replaced the drain pipe which was not even in the original project scope for the cost of materials only! Incredible... Highly, highly recommend! read more

Wouldn't measure anything, then gave a quote for small job-utterly ridiculous, outrageous quote. Rude and disrespectful.

I had a smaller job than most others which involved cleaning out a yard full of weeds. Erick was super responsive from beginning to end. He took care in ensuring I was happy with the job and even talked to me about options for my yard. Would definitely use Valdezreyes Pavers again. read more

I contacted Erick for a driveway and retaining wall/stairway replacement project. He was immediately responsive, came to the job site the next day, listened to my concerns, and offered his professional suggestions. These suggestions added value to the project and allowed me to "level the playing field" by having an additional site visit to confirm these added details for all potential contractors. Erich's quote was detailed and competitive. I would not hesitate to work with him on future projects. read more

Our good friend recommended Erick for our landscaping work. We were so surprised and happy with his team! They spent close to two months working on 3 retaining walls, replacing the grass in our front and backyard, removing dead plants from the prior owner, removing our driveway concrete and replacing it with pavers and hauling prior owner's junk to a garbage dump. We gave him a budget and he made wonders! His team was so pleasant to be around with. We are so happy with everything his team did! They came out and helped with a sprinkler leak. Very thorough and professional. I needed it done ASAP and they did not disappoint.

Our house is built into a small hillside, and because we have ~30 steps leading up to the front, we've gotten very used to contractors groaning/complaining as soon as they arrive and/or quoting us ridiculous prices, which they'll openly admit is due to the incline. This has been a real bummer, since we've been excited to do any number of home improvement projects. But my experience with Erick was very different. First of all, he showed up on time for our first appointment, which sadly isn't common from what I've seen. He listened to our ideas (digging out the hillside in our small backyard to create a level field where our kids could play, and putting up a retaining wall and some fences), took measurements, asked questions, and said he'd be in touch with a quote. I didn't hear from him immediately so I'll admit I assumed he was ignoring us like many others had. But he soon got in touch asking if I'd received his quote...turns out that he had put one together but I'd missed it due to some email issues. In my opinion, the quote was very reasonable. Long story short, it was a pleasure working with Erick and his team. I've no doubt that there are many capable landscapers out there, but Erick differentiates himself by not only being technically proficient, but knowing how to communicate, listen to our issues, and problem solve. These things truly made the difference. Erick's team very efficiently completed our backyard project, sticking to a timeline we'd discussed. Given how good of an experience it was, I'm seriously looking forward to the next project... read more

I contacted Erick to come out and see a backyard project I had been wanting to do for a while. We have a small hill that was uneven and all clay soil. Erick came out right away and was very receptive to all my ideas - I wanted the hill cleaned, graded, and then covered in mulch with some stones for pathways. Erick was also super helpful when talking plant selection. In the end, he went to a nursery for me and picked up lots of hedge plants. On the day the project started, Erick showed up with several other guys early in the morning and immediately started clearing the hill. They carefully planted all our plants, placed stones, and then covered the hill in mulch. It looked great! We also asked him to build stairs. They're amazing! Erick is very transparent with pricing. He was upfront with labor costs and provided me with all receipts for materials (no hidden costs). We loved the work so much we asked Erick if he could do biweekly maintenance - they've come twice already and it's going great! We are THRILLED with the work by Erick and team. They bid on our project from a Bacqyard.com design and executed on it perfectly. The quality of work was great, from significant demo to hardscape concrete and timber to planting to artificial turf to lighting to sprinklers. I have confidence the work was done right, something I was nervous about with literal layers of work occurring. Our neighbors, friends and family are all equally impressed. read more

I have known Erick for over a year or so when he trimmed my juniper trees. He did an excellent job. I wanted a new lawn and sprinkler system and trimming done. My lawn was over 50 years old and was in need of replacing. Erick put in the sprinkler system and a beautiful lawn, did all my trimming plus some other small miscellaneous items and my yard looks amazing. I am once again very happy with his services. I cannot recommend him enough. I will have him back to fix my gate and fence and do trimming in the future. It took them 3 days and each day when they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful and nice. Thank you Emmanuel Landscaping! read more

Erick quoted me a fair price on a day's worth of cleanup work on our massively overgrown front yard. His crew was quiet and professional, and by the end we couldn't believe the difference. Weed tarps and mulch were expertly applied, and they even helped us out by removing an old cement fountain the previous owners had neglected. Worth every penny. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Erick and his crew. The work they did on every element of our outdoor space went above and beyond. But the best part is that they are AMAZING to work with. Timely, responsive, respectful, reliable, helpful - they really went above and beyond. I literally asked Erick about so many other jobs around our house because I only want to hire him and his crew . We bought a fixer in Berkeley and have worked with over 10 crews on different projects over the last 2 years - Ericks crew exceeded them all 10x. The scope of our project was to break up the concrete on our old, cracked driveway and side walkway and to pour new concrete. We also had our front lawn removed and totally landscaped our front yard with drought resistant plants (with a drip watering system), brown mulch and a few large rocks. After the project started Eric pointed out that our 40-year water drainage system was completely blocked and the pipes were cracking so new pipes were added to the project. Eric, the General Manager, oversaw the whole project from start to finish. I have worked with many remodeling and home repair contractors, but no one compares with the efficiency and professionalism that Eric and his crew had. Communication was excellent, Eric and his crew were always on time and always cleaned up each day. There are so many details, large and small, with a project like this but we never felt overwhelmed. What was amazing was that each day, I would prepare a list of questions for Eric and before I could ask them, Eric would talk about the same issues. I am always suspicious when I see so many positive reviews on Yelp but, I have to admit, they are all justified. read more
