We were looking for someone to do our front yard for our next project. Install artificial turf, retaining wall, stepping stones, irrigation and some others. We were glad to find Eco Grounds Landscaping. Carlos the owner is really really nice and easy to work with. He accommodated our request. Price is very reasonable. I highly suggest you give this company a chance when shopping around for landscaping work. You won't be disappointed. Big or small they do it. I know it's hard to find good contractors/landscapers. 5 stars!!! Thanks Carlos -Victor read more

After moving into a house with broken / non-existent irrigation, we found a need to build a new irrigation system. I spoke with several and Carlos at Eco Grounds was by far the most comprehensive, friendly, and professional. Soon enough, I had an irrigation for every plant, operated with a smart sprinkler system (Rachio). I appreciated an even more extensive walkthrough where he pointed out areas of improvement in both my soft scape and hardscape. read more

Working with Carlos and his team was great from start to finish. He came out to discuss the project and rapidly returned an easy-to-understand bid for a small project to put pavers by my driveway and repair the gate in a fence. Work began almost immediately. The team worked hard--staying after dark to complete tasks and cleaning up each day. When I had questions, Carlos was immediately available by text and phone and answered each of my questions thoughtfully so I understood both what actions had been taken and what my options were if I wanted anything changed. The finished product looks great and came in right on budget. read more

Carlos paid great attention to detail when helping us restore a sagging concrete retaining wall and adding a new french drain for it. Carlos was also very easy to talk to and he responded well to my style of asking lots of questions. read more

Hire these guys! Carlos from Eco Grounds was fantastic. He was genuine, honest, and considerate throughout. It was great to have an owner/PM who could keep his eyes on the big picture and small details. He showed up daily to check in on things and help, and when he wasn't on site, he constantly communicated with his crew. That crew was hardworking and thorough and you can tell they were happy to be a part of Carlos's team. read more

This whole experience has been an absolute nightmare. First of all, these landscapers are unlicensed, which is illegal in California. They are extremely unqualified. They have made numerous mistakes on a basic job of a sprinkler installation. The job was rushed and done without any sort of expertise. ****Update: Gisela stated in her response below that we did not "pay" extra for Eco Grounds to remove the PVC from our lawn. So somehow this justifies smashing up the PVC into hundreds of shards and sprinkling them all over our top soil? See pictures. 1. They left sharp, dangerous shards of PVC pipe scattered on our lawn and covered with top soil. This is the most absurd thing that they did and I'm so worried we'll miss a piece and my toddler will impale his foot on one of these shards. They also left pieces of junk such as new rubber tubing, price tags, new PVC pipe, and shards of old irrigation valves mixed into our top soil. Every time I rake through the soil, I find new garbage or new pipe shards. This is insane. 2. Two hours after installation of the irrigation system, a new pipe they installed broke open and was gushing water all over our lawn. We had to shut down our water main. They told me it wasn't screwed on correctly. They should have checked for leaks before leaving. 3. They left our yard in shambles and didn't replace plants they dug up by the irrigation line they installed. 4. The sprinklers by the rose bushes do not even work. 5. The sprinkler heads range in heights from 0-4 inches above ground! Why? They claim it's because they planned to do lawn treatment by adding top soil, but 4 inches of top soil? And if that were true, why wouldn't they all be the same height? Won't some be completely buried or others will be run over with the lawnmower? 6. The timer they installed was programmed incorrectly so only one out of four zones were running every day, so our grass was starting to die. The timer also seemed used. It was covered with a thick later of dust and dirt, and did not come with a manual or new box. They were charging me for a new one. 7. We paid $240 for hand de-weeding, and as you can see in the pics, they left weeds behind. 8. They cut our tree root in half, leaving the root sticking up out of the ground, when they could have dug under it to install the irrigation. What am I supposed to do with this now, exactly? It's a tripping hazard at this point. 9. After informing the owners about the shards of PVC pipe in our top soil, Gisela actually blamed us for it, saying we had broken pipes in the ground from the old system. So, why did they sprinkle broken shards of PVC unto our lawn and cover it with top soil? The owner, Carlos already had admitted that the workers broke up the PVC pipes with pick axes and that caused the shards to go everywhere. Gisela evaded any and all responsibility for their mistakes, which I think was the worst part of all of this. All in all, this has been an absolute disaster and although they offered to fix the errors, we do not trust this company within 10 feet of our property, and you shouldn't either. read more

Contacted Eco Grounds Landscaping to inspect my irrigation system for leaks. Carlos responded promptly and came by to do the inspection the next day. He quickly identified my system's leaky valve. Carlos is very knowledgeable and patient - he responded to my many questions and provided quotes I requested for various options for my irrigation system and other yard enhancements. The team he sent to replace my leaky irrigation valve was efficient, did a good job replacing the bad valve and they left the work area In the same condition as they found it. I found Carlos to be very responsive, professional and delivering good value for the price charged. read more

Before reaching out to eco grounds I have contacted 4 landscaping companies for estimate and design. Now I am glad to say that I would never regret choosing Gisela and Carlos who have been super professional, trustworthy and efficient throughout the process. Another eco ground member Ned was helping so much with the difficult yard work as well. The team came only four times for our yard project, and each time they created a miracle. In the middle of the process there was a problem for we did not get the color that we chose, but Carlos and Gisela went extra miles and took care of it. The yard was a mess before, but they turned it into a beautifully arranged little area. Such a delight to look at. I would recommend eco grounds to anyone who needs a landscaping design and beautification. Don't hesitate. Any one can beat their price can't beat their services! read more

I have hired numerous landscaping companies in the past and so far Eco Grounds has been the best! Carlos is such a nice guy and one thing I like is the communication we had. If he couldn't work on a day he would get back to me on rescheduling. Other people would not even let me know what was going on and never come back to complete the job. Carlos and crew pulled weeds, pruned trees, trimmed the shrubs, added mulch and installed some pavers all for a reasonable price. They also did a fantastic job cleaning up when they were finished working. I would highly recommend Eco and I will definitely be calling Carlos again. His knowledge of plants and the correct irrigation for them was very helpful. Thank you Carlos for making my garden look awesome! read more

Eco Grounds Landscaping was recommended to me by a good friend of mine and I was hesitant about the whole operation as I am overzealous about my gardens. However, when Carlos and his people showed up, they appeared to be very polite and also easy to talk to, and appeared to know what they were doing. I monitored their work through my security cameras and they did an excellent job. I don't usually leave reviews but I felt that the price was so good that this would be my way of saying thank you. Hope you and your family stay well during this pandemic! read more

Carlos and Gisela did such a great job with our little project. Gisela was spot on with scheduling and Carlos and his helper cranked out the irrigation install in FAR less time than i would have thought. Furthermore, we didnt actually lay in the sod for 30 days after the irrigation install but Carlos came back and replaced half of the sprinklers that it turns out were too short for the install we finally did on the sod (on our own). No questions, just did it and made it work. Plus they were always polite and respectful. A total joy. These people, in my experience, are totally honest, hard working and deserving of anyone's consideration. read more

I moved into a new home down in San Pablo and we had a plan to immediately do some outside work for our home. The driveway was not in the best shape (made of asphalt) it would damage the car if you didn't slowly pull out, but calling Eco grounds landscaping and telling Carlos about the problem he had a unique way of getting our problem solved that no other company had mentioned. He wanted to replace the driveway and install pavers at the top to create adaptability. It was a smooth process working with Carlos. His hardworking team were very efficient and worked with our budget that we had for this project. read more

Carlos and his team are absolute pros. They gave a great quote and were excellent at communication from beginning to end. They also did a handful of tasks that were outside of the original quote and when issues outside of their control arose that forced them to stay late, they came back for another day. Just excellent experience all around! read more

This is my 2nd time using Eco Grounds Landscaping and will not be my last. It is such a relief finding a business that provides consistent excellent service. I requested service on Friday and they showed up on Tuesday; working in super heat and got the job done. I'm very satisfied. PS, as a lover of trees and plants, it can be disheartening when I see them cut so severely, but I know they'll grow back more beautiful and pruning is good for them, but I just can't do it myself, which is why I appreciate the expert care from this team. read more

Carlos and his team are wonderful! Carlos has been maintaining my yard for about 6-8months now and I have been very happy with his work. I purposely waited awhile to post a rating because I wanted to ensure that the work was consistent. I dont know much about pruning tress or gardening. Carlos will give me his opinion and let me know how things are supposed to be done. I truly appreciate his honest feedback. Gisela is also nice as well. I love that she will text me to let me know when they are coming and the time. You will not go wrong with these guys! Just let them know what type of work you need. If it can be done, they will do it. If not, they will let you know too and tell you why. They do a great job and they are nice! read more

Carlos and Gisela are wonderful! We needed our yard completely cleaned up, it was choked with weeds and just gross! There was a situation with a mushroom on a stump that probably would have killed us all had Carlos not removed it. I'm not kidding, that thing was headed toward the house. Gisela spotted our cry for help on Nextdoor and barely a week later, the job is already complete. I loved how easy and quick it was to communicate with Gisela and get on the schedule, she's really on top of it! They did a spectacular job, and even watched out for my little succulents in the ground, which was above and beyond the call of duty considering we asked for a big ugly cleanup job and they were buried under layers of weeds. We are so pleased with how they cleared our weeds, and excited to have them come back to remove our terrifying spider-shed next (it also appears to be headed toward the house)! read more

I had wonderful experience working with Eco Grounds Landscaping! I needed a major cleanup of my yard before an event and was able to book an consultation appointment with them within 24 hours. Gisela is super prompt and efficient! She scheduled the free quote session the very next day, sent me a reminder text 15 mins before the appointment and arrived on the dot to survey my yard and gave me a great quote shortly after! On the day of the project, Gisela notified me 15 mins ahead and their (very friendly) crew showed up at my door right on time. They worked tirelessly for the next few hours, leaving my yard in perfect shape, with weeds removed, overgrown trees and plants pruned and all foliage cleaned and taken to the dump. Exactly like I wanted!! Thanks to their impressive work ethics, I have now decided to get my yard regularly maintained by them. I would highly recommend this company due to their flexibility and responsiveness, in addition to top notch work quality and excellent attention to detail! read more

I would highly recommend hiring Carlos and his crew. We wanted our whole backyard (weeds, dry grass, overgrown trees and bushes, mulch, dirt, etc) demolished and to start fresh with a low-maintenance yard. Carlos' price was very reasonable and he worked with our budget. He drew us up a design plan, showed us samples of turf and different rock materials, and he and his crew were able to come out the very next week to get the job done and within 3 and a half days the whole backyard is as good as new! They were kind, professional, and cleaned up after themselves every day before leaving. We are very happy with how the backyard turned out and can now enjoy it rather than avoid it. I attached before and after photos. Thank you Carlos!! read more

These folks exemplify customer service. Big yard, big weeds, big job. They handed it all beautifully and what a relief not to look at a mess every day. Something I appreciated? Carlos was so easy to communicate with. He responded quickly when I first contacted him, came out that day, gave me an estimate and followed up with a time for the work. Carlos Holgado , who is the head of Eco Grounds Landscaping, is a dream to work with. I first hired him to rebuild our whole aging irrigation system in the front and back yards. He did a beautiful job and set it up to work automatically. Next we hired him to build a fence around the front yard. I am so pleased with the front yard transformation. They put up a fence on uneven terrain. To make the project workable, they had to relocate parts of the sprinkler system, extend the driveway, extend the outside electrical system (to put up a light), move the outdoor water access, remove bushes and shrubs, replant fresh sod, and figure out tricky issues with the gate. Carlos spent time talking through the project with me in advance. Then, as practical decisions or issues arose during the process, he talked them through with me very patiently and thoroughly. We arrived at solutions that worked for me and that were possible to do. I have tremendous confidence in his knowledge, skill and ability and trust his impeccable integrity. His prices are very reasonable. Also, the quality of workmanship of his team was exemplary and the whole operation was very professional. And they all wore masks without complaint. I highly recommend him. read more

If you need any help with an irrigation system, look no further. Carlos Holgado & his team were prompt - came out one day after my call to assess the leak, explained what he saw was wrong (in a way I could understand!), gave me a very fair price on fixing it (along with details of what made up that price), and suggested a couple of other small improvements. Ecogrounds was very competent, professional (and COVID safe), neat (no dirt on the gravel paths, not a leaf out of place in my garden), great price and easy to work with. I recommend them without reservation! Wish I'd found them 10 years ago. read more
