Hey folks. Vo Gardening has come through for my rental properties. Yard clean-ups, clearing of weeds, and tree/bush pruning were expertly executed. He was great at removing weed-ridden dirt/soil from the base of 2 large trees, lay down a barrier, then put base rock to prevent future weed growth from emerging. I have no reservations in recommending him for projects big and small! My tenants and I thank you for a job well done! read more

First business to contact me. Both yards were cleaned-up within 2 hours for a reasonable price.

Vo gardening is great. They were able to accommodate my requests and did a fantastic job. The price they quoted for the amount of work done was perfect. I look forward to working with them again. Thank you so much. read more

I contacted Vo and he came the following day to see the Garden and gave me a quote. During the week we agreed on the price and last Saturday he came in with 2 crew to worked on it. I was amazed how much manual worked done removing one of the stump. All of them got routine to do, and I was able to go around and asked to cut some more of this and that. I provided some water and soda coz it was getting hotter. I did some little sweeping after they left and they used my green bin for some of the leaves,in which understandable which is okay by me. Overall I was pleased with the worked/service they had done. read more

Vo Gardening - Two main bushes that was taken out! - Tree Services Near Me - Oakland, California

I utilized Vo's Gardening twice and will not be inviting them to return for the intended monthly service. Their complete lack of aesthetics might have been workable if they had followed specific directions to leave untouched the neighbors flowers spilling over beautifully onto my property line. Pointing out the mistake after the flowers were hacked off in a straight line elicited an apology and reassurance that it would not happen again. I reminded him not to cut the flowers the day before he came the next month but they did exactly that. They also hacked off the side of a butterfly bush with no apparent thought or skill to attain a natural or graceful shape. Vo's Gardening also ignored my repeated requests regarding a start time. They blew in here (so to speak) early enough to wake us all up, rushed through the work and left plenty of debris behind. Given that their cost was higher than average, I had hoped that the basic, pick-up would be more thorough. read more

Vo did an excellent job helping me remove two dead trees and plant two new small palms. When I first contact him for a quote, he is very proactive in communicating with me to get the job. Other companies didn't even reply or make me jump through hoops to get a quote. Vo negotiated a good deal with me for the job. He came on time and got the job done in 30 minutes. He is very friendly and chats with me afterward. He accepts checks and Venmo and others for payment. Overall, I highly recommend Vo and would hire him again. read more

After outlining my project on Yelp, Vo Gardening contacted me, I emailed him photos of the project - trimming and shaping rougly 17 overgrown large bushes. We agreed on a date and time for him to come out and see the extent of the project. We worked out and agreed on a price, date and time. Vo and his helper arrived on agreed upon day and time and immediatley started working. The entire job was completed as promised, without a hitch! They worked very efficiently, trimmed everything as requested and cleaned up and removed all the debris. The results is beautiful! I am so happy Vo contacted me and I was able to have the work done by him. It was a pleasure working with him and I plan to work with him again in the future. read more

We bought a house in serious need of a lawn haircut. I contacted many others but Vo was quickest to respond, quickest to schedule and accepts venmo. As you can imagine buying a house includes 473243741 expenses - even moreso if you buy a moderately unkempt one - so using credit is appreciated. Vo came with one worker, the first time and had the property cleaned up in a matter of hours. We hired Vo a second time shortly after the birth of our son as the property was getting feral again. At this point we accepted lawn defeat and have signed on to monthly services at least until kidlet is less demanding. Vo does a great job of yard cleanup and imo, his prices are reasonable. Thank you Vo. read more

They came in and did the job well and quickly. No complaints. Super nice team too. I would recommend them

I hired Vo to clean up my overgrown small front and backyard. For a move out clean up. He and his one worker came on time and knocked it out. I've got no complaints about the work, they did a great job! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 , is due to a small price hiccup at the beginning. When I 1st made contact with Vo, I sent him clear pictures of everything I needed done, including the very 1st picture of a flowering bush that had grown up to the roof line. He gave me 1 estimate at 1st, then a few days later he gave me a final price. But upon arrival he said there would be two separate charges. And that the weeding would be separate from the trimming , doubling the price. He apologized for the misunderstanding and stated he misunderstood although he added he did see the pic. Normally, I would have canceled but sense this was for a move out, I was kinda of stuck. After some haggling he and I were able to come to an agreeable price that was fair for the amount of work. He was and his worker were both worth every penny and if I he serviced the area I moved to I would recommend have hired him for on going maintenance. At no point was he pushy or rude, (and I was stressed already that would've sent me over the edge) the negotiations were very civil and respectful. Summary: 1. Excellent work, even my partner was impressed and He is hardly ever impressed! Vo does an excellent job! 2. Make sure you spell out everything you want and get a firm price up front or better yet, I would recommend he come out and see it prior, so everyone is clear. I will post before and after pics later. read more

Vo is a direct communicator, responsive, and reliable business owner. He and his team have been helping maintain my front yard for 4 months now and he's done a couple one time back yard clean ups. He is quick to respond to texts, efficient, and offers fair prices. In the our working relationship, I've asked for tiny adjustments or corrections on things and Vo always takes feedback well and remembers it for the following month or comes back to fix it the next day. I recommend supporting this local small business! read more

do not hire this guy. He is inept, lazy and doesn't know how to prune...and he blew all the sidewalk junk into the street (and into the parked cars) His helper threw his plastic lunch trash into my green can(big no no) He didn't clean up and left residue hanging everywhere read more

Vo and his team removed and replaced six plants in my front yard. I told Vo several times to watch for the drip line, which is buried 1-2 inches and runs alongside the existing plants. They did a decent job in the removal and replace, although I would have liked to adjust some of the placements, but that was not a big concern. They also cleaned up everything quite well. Unfortunately, as I found out later when I turned on my irrigation system, they cut through the drip line when removing one of the plants. I'm only aware of one cut right now, since it's spewing water, but I also need to check where they dug out the other plants. I realize that accidents happen, but this seems like a preventable problem. read more

I am a property manager in the Bay Area and we were in need of one large clean out on two properties. Vo was responsive, quick, and realistic with his estimates. Due to the heavy rains, my front, curb and side yard became a literal jungle. I debated doing the job myself or hiring someone to take on the ardurous task of cleaning up all of the overgrown weeds and grass. I did some research and came across Vo's name. Due to the good reviews, I contacted him via Yelp with photos. He was very responsive and came by the same day for an estimate. The price was very fair for the amount of work that had to be done so I made an appointment for him to come at 8am. He and his crew were early (7:40am) and finished the job quickly, efficiently and the work done well. Everything cleaned up and disposed off in my green bin. My front yard looks 10x better and it's such a relief not having to look at the jungle any longer. Vo is very nice and professional as is his crew, and I will definitely be contacting him to clean up my backyard for my next project. Thank you so much to you and your crew Vo! So much appreciated! read more

I sent out my request for tree service and Vo contacted me that afternoon. He came over, gave me a quote. The next day, he and his crew came over and it was done in about an hour. I am quite happy with the entire process. Thanks Vo!! read more

I reached out to Vo based on the 5-star reviews. It was also my first time hiring a gardening service so I might be pickier/have higher expectations than most since I'm used to doing the weeding/trimming work myself. For anyone considering them, they are much more mow/blow/go than I realized, and don't do any irrigation (we had a leak in our drip line I was hoping they could fix). Probably best if you need quick weed removal or yard cleanup without too much precision or detail. Pros - Friendly, overall good communicator - They did take my direction and feedback on shaping a few bushes (everything got a flat top cut by default) although I worried I was annoying them at times - Our front yard looks much nicer, though the plants were mostly already in good condition; in reality, I was mostly paying for light weeding and clearing leaves and debris off our patio as well as getting dirt and weeds out of a concrete gutter down the side of our house (they use a blower) - Their cleanup also motivated me to throw out a bunch of things as well, which was the kick in the butt I needed Neutral - Vo has 2 helpers with him who do most of the work while he directs, though he'll be hands-on with little things here and there - They used my green compost bin for all clippings - One guy seemed less experienced than the others (he needed more direction and guidance) but they all worked hard - They forgot to dig out a small stump but I was able to dig it out myself later. (To be fair, when I texted Vo about it, he said he could come back the next day to do it.) - They spent about 1.5 hours from start to finish, but likely would've been done in less than an hour if I wasn't pointing out more specific/detailed things I needed done Cons - I was originally planning to get multiple quotes on both front yard cleanup as well as ongoing maintenance. Vo said that they thought I wanted them to do the work immediately so he had brought his guys with him. I felt bad so I asked for $50 off his quoted price (which he agreed to) and decided to just have them do the work then and there but my husband told me this is a common "sales tactic" people use to get you to move forward with them. - While Vo's original quote wasn't totally unreasonable, after I met a few other gardeners the next day, they would've done the work for $80-100 less than what I paid Vo and were more detail-oriented and knowledgeable about the different plants I had in the garden. (Vo's team was like Supercuts for plants, they all got the same haircut.) No regrets, but just a lesson learned for next time. - When I was discussing the scope of work (including mulching, clearing cobwebs off the home, and removing a small stump from a bush we had cut down), Vo was very agreeable about doing all the work. After his team got started however and I asked if they were able to pick up the mulch from Bee Green if I paid for it in advance, he said they can't do that unfortunately; I would need to get all of the materials onsite myself (the bagged amounts are huge and would be difficult for my husband and I to carry). He forgot about the cobwebs as well (I decided it wasn't worth making them do this since they seemed pretty eager to leave). Again, I should've clarified everything upfront before agreeing to move forward. - They were more rough around the edges overall, I.e. using our compost bin to stand on to cut the tops of bushes, climbing on top of our shared neighbor fence to do the same, using the blower without much warning (I was outside with my 3-month-old and also worried that we blew all of our leaf litter info my neighbor's yard); again, I think I just had mismatched expectations and should have known better about the service I was getting. I debated about how many stars to give because I think Vo is a nice guy and it felt good to get the yard cleaned up. On the other hand, my husband couldn't tell that anything was done and I know I overpaid for the quality of work. Vo and his guys also didn't go "above and beyond" and if anything, I had to remind Vo of the little things we had discussed from the original quote. So for a general cleanup on an overgrown space, they are fine. If you need something more detailed though (or if your garden is already in pretty good shape), I'd recommend another service. read more

I was in desperate need of a gardener and Vo had left his card with me last year. The weeds were extremely overgrown and as a senior on limited income, I was afraid that I would not pass weed inspection by May 31st. for my very large lot on a downhill. When I called Mr. Vo he was more than supportive. He cut the weeds off my very large lot, and he has excellent customer skills, an outstanding professional that I can proudly recommend him to all my neighbors, friends and anyone who needs gardening help. I found Mr. Vo on Craigslist and they did such a good job at a good price that I asked him if he was on Yelp so I can write a review for him. I needed a one time job because I had some tenants moving in and I told them I would have the yard cleaned before they moved in. I got a neck injury and I was running late with the yard but I had to keep my word. So, I was looking for someone who could do this job at an affordable price and soon. When he gave me the estimate for what I wanted done I did not hesitate to shake his hand in agreement! My yard went from a jungle mess to presentable!! It took him and his partner under three hours to complete the job! Hard workers and I was impressed!! I even told him that if I have a problem like this again he is my go to guy. Mr. Vo also speaks very good English which I find helpful because there is a better understanding of what needs to be done. All in All a GREAT EXPERIENCE, and he is LOCAL!!
