[Updated 8/9/21] The work they did was fine, but we accidentally paid them double, and they gave us the runaround when trying to get it back (we still haven't gotten the money back yet). We paid through Venmo; the payment didn't go through. So we paid them again. Then the first payment went through. So we contacted them to ask them to refund one Venmo payment. They said they couldn't do that, and asked us to set up an account on some other payment website. We asked them again to just refund through Venmo, and they finally said they'd mail us a check. But it has been nearly two weeks and they haven't sent it. I'm doubtful that they have any intention of refunding the money at this point. Update 8/9/21: We finally received a check in the mail, weeks later. I don't think they were maliciously trying to keep our extra payment, but it was difficult to get it back. We absolutely love the work that was done on my mother-in-law's home! My husband and I are putting the house up for sell and didn't want to leave the yard in it's current state. Well I hopped on yelp and after reading countless reviews, decided to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Rolando came out and looked at the front and back yards. He suggested we do mulch. Well that was a no-brainer being that the state is experiencing a water crisis. Long story short, we could not be more happier with the work that was done. Not Reliable. Doesn't respond in a respectful or prompt time frame. I reached out to Andres on 2/15 to get some landscaping and tree work done for our HOA in Oakland. He said he would come take a look at the tree's and work to be done the next day or so. I sent pictures, etc ahead of time. He never came out. I followed up with him a few days later (Feb. 23rd) to see if he was still going to come and provide a quote to do the work. No response or call back. I followed up a third time several weeks later and asked if there was an update. You would think that he wants new customers, NOPE! He finally let me know that he can't help and he is too busy. Why didn't he say so the first time or the second time. I find it very unprofessional and not service oriented to treat prospects that way. It's sad that so many contractors have a reputation of not being true to their word, not communicating, not following up. So much for nice pictures and reviews if someone never gets a chance to work with the business we'll never know. read more

We hired Andre's to do a one time weed and dead tree removal and we were hoping to keep them as our bi-weekly gardener. We discussed everything we wanted done and a price was agreed upon. However, when the day came for the work to be done, the price kept getting higher as the job went on. First thing, I have been using them for more than 4 yrs for bi-weekly maintenance, so I KNOW them! Today I fired them! Let me con't to explain: 1. DISRESPECT WORK SCOPE. For the first 2 yrs, they had been doing a good job roughly on time, so decided to I asked them to install the irrigation drip system (to conserve water). But instead, he insisted to install mini sprinklers, saying they had better coverage for our small veggie garden. The system apparently did not installed correctly, so one day the water pressure was too much and they sprayed all over, even to our neighbor's house (and they got super mad too, because it was a summer day, and they had their windows open). At the end, we had to redo and replace the entire thing to a new drip system the way that we originally wanted ourselves. I wasn't sure communication was an issue, or he simply wanted an easy/cheaper way out. 2. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE. Often late and sometimes NO SHOW! To us, this is UNACCEPTABLE! This is totally not the workers' fault, as they only received orders. It was Andre! He got so busy, and he poorly managed his staffs. I obviously gave him many many chances over the years. This situation worsen since 2 years ago and kept escalating! I wanted to let them go so many times, because he wouldn't tell/reply me what time his crew would come or not! It got to a point that I had to reconfirm with him the day before EVERYTIME. The original agreed time had gone out the window. 4. INCREASE PRICES AT THE SPOT. One time, because they didn't show up, then 2 weeks later when they finally showed to do the work, he was telling me that he needed to raise the price, because of more work?! I have not heard of someone missed a day of work without explanation/notice and showed up the next day and asked their boss for more money?! At the end I still gave more money. 3. UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL. He had sent his son (a teen at the time) to my house, randomly wrecking our plants while on the phone. I had to tell him to stop! And I had to ask for specific team to be here, because random people would just show up each time, and they damaged my plants from time to time, I showed him picture and name of the plants they pulled out and damaged, and he said he would replace them for me, and he never did. AND THE FINAL DRAW! He yelled at me over the phone for not answering the door immediately! I texted him the night b4 to ask if they would be showing (coz again they didn't show last time), and no reply. So I did not expect them, and I went about to take care of the million things that I had to do as a new parent. When I heard the leaf blower, I checked my phone, and there I saw a missed call from 7 mins ago and a text saying they were there. I immediately went to the back and open the backdoor and texted him right back to notify him. 5 mins later, I didn't hear anything, and I realized that they left. There, I called him and asked about it, and then he yelled at me and said I should have immediately ran out and opened the door for them, and HUNG UP ON ME!! Ridiculous much? Saying how he had to pay for his workers to be there, and they couldn't spend time waiting. He claimed 30 mins of waiting. Exaggerated much? Sure, they shouldn't be waiting, I understand, so how about reply to my text and tell me what time they would be coming, so I can "properly greet them with a cup of tea"? OH better yet, how about actually show up every time at the agreed time and days? IF they haven't been no shows or late all the time, I would have my gate and backdoor opened already. And what did I do to deserve to be yelled at? to not expect them when I didnt get a reply?? what about the numerous times that we waited for them? Hint: if you decided to still try them after you read this review, go ahead! But just to be warned, you are about to hire someone who's not reliable, full of excuses, unprofessional and show no respect to you! oh and a yeller! read more

My yard was a jungle. I'm pretty sure that tigers were hiding in the brush waiting to pounce on me as I fought my way through to my front door every evening. I finally decided I would like a nice yard again, so I called Andres. He and his crew were awesome. He came by when he promised, gave me a great price and then more than delivered on what he had promised. The crew hand weeded the beds, weed whacked the brush, dug out some plants, trimmed the bushes, and left everything looking beautiful. You wouldn't believe the difference in just two days. This review is a little late as Rolando completed the work a couple months ago, but I had to make sure I wrote something about the service I received. First of all, I am very happy with the my front yard turned out. I used to have ugly white rock and an even uglier Juniper bush separating my yard from the sidewalk. I wanted to clear out the bush and make the front yard seem more open. Rolando helped me design a tiered yard with succulents, mulch, and a couple retaining walls. The work was done in three phases: bush and rock extraction, retaining walls, and lastly the mulch and succulent/drought resistant plants. HIs workers were very respectful, kind, and trustworthy. As another reviewer mentioned, his prices aren't the cheapest, but they are very fair. Rolando and his crew take great pride in their work and want to make sure that his clients are happy. They didn't rush any process and were pretty meticulous, nor did they cut any corners. Above all, he's a good guy. Because it's a small family run business, it's good to discuss pricing and terms ahead of time (as with any other business). I've attached some pictures as well. read more
