I bought a wedding dress on eBay not realizing that wedding dresses run much, MUCH smaller than normal dress sizes. Thankfully I had plenty of time prior to the big day to get it altered. I read several reviews online and put a plea out on Facebook for recommendations on where I could take the dress for a miracle. Perfect Alterations was the answer. The dress is a fit and flare that had a zipper and buttons straight down the back. Nancy was able to remove the zipper, put in a panel and changed the buttons to a lace-up corset. I still had some work to do in the gym to ensure the dress fit where it couldn't be altered, but on my wedding day I was wearing the dress of my dreams thanks to the great work Nancy had done. She was also able to repair the ruffles at the bottom (wear and tear from being a sample) and put in a bustle. I highly recommend this shop for any of your tailoring needs!!! read more

I got married in August and Nancy did a wonderful job on my wedding and reception dresses. For the wedding dress this included taking it in almost 4 inches, retooling the elaborately beaded back, resetting the back ruffle, bustling and hemming. She is honest and realistic, straight-forward and to the point, which I thought was great. She really took the time to make sure everything was right at that first fitting. I was a little worried when she said my dress wouldn't be ready until 5 days before the wedding and I'd only had one fitting, but I needn't have because it was perfect, just like the name says. You never would have guessed that it had been altered! She's also done an excellent job on smaller jobs (hems and removing pockets). Highly recommended, you'll be in good hands. read more

Amazing!!!! I was so impressed and delighted that I couldn't stop grinning when I went to pick up my outfit. I received a gorgeous lehenga choli (long skirt and short blouse) as a gift from an Indian friend--lots of brightly colored silk panels heavy with embroidery and little mirrors. Not only was the outfit unfinished, however, but it was entirely too large to the point that I would never have been able to wear it. But the owner was able to taper the skirt and the blouse without any puckering or visible seam (no easy task given the extremely decorative fabric), and the price was very reasonable for the amount of work required--under $100 for both pieces together, completed within two weeks. My daughter's prom dress fit perfectly when we bought it. However, she must have really lost weight during softball season because just a few days before prom, she tried it on and it wouldn't stay up on its own. We tried a few places in closer proximity to our home but no one would do it in time. We took the dress to her late Tuesday afternoon and although it needed taken in 3 inches and to have the elaborate beading reset, she took pity on us and said she would have it done by Friday at noon. I brought my dress to Nancy 10 days before my wedding. It was a complicated hem with many chiffon layers. Nancy did above and beyond work for me! This business is amazing, nothing they can't do! I had a last minute issue with an online bridesmaid dress being two small, and the bigger dress I ordered after needed to be altered, but it came the day before the wedding!!! They saw how upset and panicked I was and told me they could alter the dress the same day so it's be ready for the wedding! They saved the day and even stayed AFTER their closing time! Brought in a sequined prom dress for a few fixes and hemming - some strings of sequins were coming off and the slit needed to be closed up a bit. To do everything was way over our budget! So, the seamstress worked with us to get the price down to in our budget. She fixed the strings of sequins, sewed up the slit, added an eye hook at the zipper, did an awesome job with the hem, and even fixed some other items on the dress we did not see originally! Saved my life! I came in with a bridesmaid dress that was too big and too long a week before the wedding cause shipping was delayed. When I picked up my dress it was amazing! I had to get a bridesmaid altered....that needed so much work just to make it wearable down the aisle. It was so tight around the neck but it was all lace with three layers, so it was not easy to make this wearable.
