I had a bridesmaid dress altered here. The owner (I assume it was Damian, but we never introduced ourselves) was very friendly. I tried the dress on and explained I just wanted a little bit hemmed from the bottom so I wasn't stepping on it. He pinned it and took the dress back, very simple. I ended up getting somewhere between 1-2 inches hemmed from the bottom of the dress. My cost was $60, which seems a little steep to me for just an inch or two, however 1) not everyone is capable of doing the job. I certainly wasn't able to do it myself. & 2) I assume getting a gown altered is always going to be a little pricier. 3) I imagine tailors are in demand! Damian seemed to have a lot of clothing there. So overall, I had no problem paying the $60 for the work to be done. When I picked it up, I did not try the dress on or inspect it, because it was such a simple job, I just paid and slipped the dress into my garment bag. When I got home, I noticed there was a loose string hanging on the one side where it was hemmed (near the slit of the dress). I don't believe this is something that happened in transport, it just looks like it wasn't properly finished on that end, however as I said - I did not inspect the dress upon pick up, so next time I'll make sure I do so before leaving. I would come again, but just note to self to check my garments before leaving. read more

I brought a pair of shorts in that were covered with an embroidered pattern that had various snags in the embroidery. Damian told me I could snip and tie and sew over the pattern, but I didn't trust myself to do it. He took care of 2-3 spots and my total was $4. He is honest and did such great work on my shorts that I can't tell where the snags ever were, otherwise I would include before and after pics. Go to Damian's for honest service! I've come to this place infrequently for years. Mostly when I needed pants hemmed to fit my height. They always did a great job. But recently I need five fancy, Pakistani outfits to be altered. Because these dresses have a lot of work on them (embroidery, beadwork, etc.) and are delicate materials I was nervous dropping them off. I showed the tailors pictures of what the clothes should ultimately look like and they pinned the clothes. I came back on the agreed upon date and picked up the clothes. Some were perfect. Some needed to be taken back for additional alterations. The second time everything was perfect. When they initially did the alterations they did not cut out the extra material so that things could be let out if necessary. Once I approved it, they removed the excess material. They really listened to what I needed them to do and were gracious and helpful throughout the entire process. read more

I ordered a bridesmaid dress from an online retailer that was way too small that I couldn't breathe in it and Damian was able to let it out and add material so that it actually fit in just about a week! Probably added about 6 sizes worth of fabric from the bottom to the side panels and was able to match the ruching pattern of the dress. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I left four pairs of pants to be altered on Dec. 29. I go to pick them up about two weeks later and they are CLOSED FOR FIVE WEEKS! No one said a word to me about closing for several weeks when I dropped them off. They refuse to make any adjustment to my bill and were rude. Their excuse is they close that time of year every year, as if I'm expected to know their travel plans. You don't leave for five weeks without notifying your customers that they will not have access to their clothes. read more

Being very short - I often have to get almost every pair of pants I purchase hemmed, it can get very expensive. Damien's is very well priced ($10 to hem jeans and $15 for pants with lining) so its very fair and they can get it done in about a week. Very nice and good customer service. The hours are great too as someone with an 8-5 schedule, its great to have until 6:30 to get there! They have also done a couple of bridesmaids dresses for me and have a fair price and do very good work. I definitely recommend them! read more
