I couldn't be happier with the services I received from Red Carpet Alterations. My sister found them on Yelp when her wedding dress needed to be altered and when my bridesmaid dress came in and needed some changes, I knew exactly where to go. I made an appointment after using the request a quote tool on Yelp. The response rate was remarkable and within about 30 minutes I had an appointment for a few days later. The location is easy to find but tucked away off Henderson Rd. in a small shopping complex next to a barber shop and a paint store. The staff is friendly and quick to greet you when you arrive. My appointment took less than twenty minutes. My dress took about two weeks and I had it hemmed, a slit put in the front, and the straps shortened a bit. It came out to about $115 with tax and the work was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time I need any clothing alterations. I have gone to Red Carpet twice for bridesmaids dress alterations- once for a simple fix, and once for an almost complete redesign of a dress with sleeves (pictured). I've also had outfits for work tailored (pants). Service is fantastic, their work is quick and good quality, and I can trust them with important, time sensitive projects. Taking off one star only because a pair of pants I'd had hemmed had the hem fall out after one wear, but I know if I'd brought it to their attention they would have redone it (I think they just forgot to reinforce the stitch on some tricky fabric). I'd just say, double check that the work looks good to you before you leave! This is nonetheless the only place I'll trust with my bridesmaid dresses in Greater Columbus! I went to Red Carpet Alterations in a panic after taking my dress to a local seamstress who was not qualified to alter a wedding dress. They were reassuring and had it done in literally 3 days!! I had low expectations given the state it was in when I brought it to them but they blew it out of the water and made my dress look as beautiful as when I originally tried it on. The hem was destroyed by the original seamstress and I can't believe how effectively they recovered the dress - it looks perfect. I can't say enough positive things about my experience and will definitely bring whatever I might need altered here in the future. Prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering my rush request. Did a great job! Went in to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed, taken in, and sleeves shortened. A short 2 week turnaround later, I came to pick up my dress and felt the bodice was a smidge too tight and asked if it could be taken out a little and they were so nice about it. They didn't charge me any extra and it only took another week. They were super mindful of when I needed it to be done by and super supporting of anything I wanted. I felt like they genuinely cared to make me not only look great but also feel great. I love that they cared about what I cared about. 100% would recommend. Prices are great too. As per my last review, I had a few pairs of pants hemmed. One of them came unhemmed when I wore it the day after I retrieved them from Red Carpet. I brought the pants back in to let the owner know, and he was very accommodating. He said that if I wanted to wait 20 minutes, he could do it immediately. I decided to pick it up later. The next day, I went to pick up my pants expecting to pay, and he returned them without motioning toward the cash register at all and wished me a good night! I have been doing business here for nearly 3 years. Yesterday was my last. Ali is decent at his job but his customer service skills are terrible. Long waits. Work not done on time. Not personable. You get what you pay for. I went to his shop with 2 pants and 1 suit. The usual I try it on, I tell him what I want, and there is a back and forth. Many tailors don't like (or get) modern trends. As I mentioned before I have had several pants done by him over the years, he should know my style by now. There should be no debate at this point. Apparently not. If I am paying for a service I want it done to the way I like it. Period. We move past that and he tells me price to do a simple hem and taper; $42. Previously I have paid $25 MAX. I ask him is this a "new" price? He says yes. I decline that price and say I will take that job elsewhere. I go to try on suit. We almost get through everything I want done. I say I want my taper a particular measurement. He says it can't be done because it is too difficult. I have had several pants tapered at this exact measurement prior by him. So now he is lying to my face. He didn't want to do the job. I have had enough. At that point I couldn't patronize this business any further. Before I leave I let him know how belittled and condescending my experience was. He responds with "very good". Totally oblivious. I then come to find out he didn't have "new" prices, he was charging me practically double because of my size, stating my jobs are more complicated. Very discriminatory. He then becomes hostile telling me that he has done "edits" for free for me. I correct him stating that you cannot do a job for free that is paid for. If I try a garment on and it is not to my liking - we make adjustments. All in all, I would not recommend this business to ANYONE. I have never been more disrespected by a business owner than I was during this interaction. The arrogance and negligent behavior will not be tolerated. Customer service is vital. I am sure he doesn't talk to his Upper Arlington patrons in this manner. read more

I've gone here for two bridesmaid dress alterations and each time I'm always impressed with the speed, price, quality and the service. Most recently, I lost a little weight and my dress was looser than I wanted after the first round of alterations I got at Red Carpet. I realized this on the Sunday before Memorial Day. I needed the new alterations to be completed by Wednesday of that week as I was traveling for a destination wedding. Obviously I wanted to go back to Red Carpet but I didn't know if they would be available, so I freaked out and message a bunch of different places to see who could get me in the fastest and get the work done the quickest. They responded very quickly on that Sunday and told me to come in Tuesday for the updates and they would have it completed by Wednesday! Other places that responded said they wouldn't have it done in time or they were all booked. On top of the very last minute updates they did for me, they didn't charge me since I had already gone through a round of alterations on the same dress!! The new updates were needed only because I had lost a little weight. I'll be coming back here for all future dress and clothing alterations. They are priced well and provide good service. read more

After posting my review on yelp I immiadatley received a call back from the business and spoke to who I can only assume was the owner. He apologized profulsey and explained there was a language barrier and that the person who answered my call misunderstood my request. He offered to to have me come and and fix the button on the spot (for a very reasonable price I may add). Unfortunately I was already on my way to another establishment and couldn't take him up on the offer. When I came in, they measured the suit in about five minutes. I thought "that was it?" and then left hoping it would be a good cut. They gave me a lead time of three weeks. I called four weeks later asking if it was done and they said yes. I did not receive a call stating it was complete, but luckily I was in no rush. I requested a quote on yelp and the owner responded quickly with the price. I am very picky when it comes to alterations and have had not so great experience in the past. When I came in, owner was very polite and I expressed to him what I wanted altered on my jeans. It is a very easy alteration but I want to test out the tailor before I actually bring in all my alterations. He recommended a simple cut and did not try to up sale me just to make more money out of me which I really liked (I work in sales so I know all about sales techniques) Owner even informed me on yelp that the jeans were ready for pick up which I really enjoyed because this adds a better customer experience for me. The jeans were altered exactly the way I wanted and the price is very reasonable for Columbus standard. All in all 5/5 all star for this place, very happy I have found this place.
