These were not minor issues, the pants/top/dress were made for someone probably 50 to 60 lbs larger than me. Rude! I came in with a bridesmaid dress and I wasn't able to fit and had to get taken out. She was very up front about potentially not being able to to take out what I needed. Which I appreciated. She also on more than one occasion mentioned that I should "run" to loose weight and fit the dress already being body conscious as I just had a baby but still wanted to be apart of my best friend's wedding I just took the brow beating and quickly got out of there. When I picked up the dress, I didn't even want to try it on. So embarrassed I just grabbed the dress, and practically ran out (I'd paid cash for the dress already at her request). I ended up going BACK to tell her how embarrassed I was when she told me to "run". After reading solid Yelp reviews, I decided to take my dress the Perfect Alterations. She did a wonderful job on my dress and delivered it on time. The alterations (I had some length taken off the bottom and added a bustle) were pricey, but the peace of mind made it worth it. A few notes: - A good seamstress is also a busy seamstress. Every time I was in the shop, several people came in with drop offs and pick ups, and the shop owner does her best to multitask. If you take your clothes here be aware that you pay in full right when you drop it off, and they won't tell you a pick up date until after you've paid (so It might not fit your schedule depending on when you need it). I have owned this dress for several years and have been waiting to have an occasion to wear it. I finally had an event coming up this Spring, and I needed the dress hemmed. I really wanted the alterations to be perfect, and they were. The dress was the exact length I wanted. Not only that, they worked with me to get me the dress in 2-3 days since they were closing for the holidays and wouldn't be reopening until after I left town. The price was also reasonable. I feel like she listened to my concerns and we collaborated together on what the best alterations would be. Nancy is a miracle worker! After purchasing my wedding dress in February, I did what every bride does and hit the gym for a little weight loss. However, I ended up losing 22lbs. Not what I had expected! I took my dress to Nancy in August for my October wedding and when she saw how big the dress was on me, she simply said "Wow! I have to take your dress in 4.5 inches!" Since she was basically making my dress 4 sizes smaller, we had to make some modifications to the original design.... I was nervous! After she got my dress all pinned up and I was heading out the door, she kinda' mothered me and said "You better not lose anymore weight!" I giggled. I went back for my dress last week and it is absolutely gorgeous! I am so pleased with how it turned out and excited because I now have a one of a kind dress since we had to make a few modifications. Stopped in to see about getting a floor-length bridesmaid dress hemmed. The woman told me that it would be very complicated to do because of the material, draping, etc. & quoted a price of $100. I didn't want to spend that much, but since I only have 2 weeks until I need to wear it, I was going to bite the bullet. She then told me I needed to pay upfront which I have never heard of before. When I told her I didn't have the money with me to pay upfront, she laughed at me like I was ridiculous for assuming I wouldn't have to pay ahead of time. I went directly to a 5-star reviewed business (which I didn't go to first because I was trying to avoid game day traffic) & he quoted me $45. Payment upon pickup. I brought my wedding dress in a panic because I couldn't find anyone to alter my dress since I bought it out of state. The woman that works there is so sweet and was quick to help. I was a little hesitant because she only fitted me once and I picked it up very close to my wedding. However, the dress fit like a glove and I couldn't have been happier with it. The dress had multiple layers and was very complicated. She had to bring it in over six inches because I am a 00p and you couldn't tell the dress was touched at all. I've been here about 5 times now for pants hemming and jacket and blazer sleeve reduction and taking the back in 3 blazers. Everything has come out wonderful and fits exactly the way I wanted. The one draw back is that the lady speaks broken English and can seem short or rude at times but I think that's just the way she speaks and isn't trying to be mean. Sometimes you have to repeat what you say or gesture but that's fine. Also her daughter is almost always there so if you don't like having a 5 year old run around every now and again, you may want to pass. This place is truly amazing! I was planning my wedding from out of state and only tried my dress on a few times. It wasn't until the week of the wedding , when I got into town, I realized I would need to bustle my dress. In a panic on the Wednesday before the wedding I went into Perfect Alterations hoping she could squeeze me in amongst the prom dresses and other weddings this weekend. Nancy said she would be able to do it, even though it was a rush order last minute. She even steamed it for me because it was wrinkled. When I picked up my dress I almost cried tears of happiness because she was able to do this for me with such a short time window. I have used the services of other alteration services in the past, but went elsewhere for various reasons, until I found this business. It really says something to me that on all of the review sites I've seen, the comments have been almost nothing but positive. Normally, people won't go out of their way to give a nice review, just negative ones - so that should be a good sign! When I took my suit to Nancy(?), I needed the waist and the sleeves taken in within TWO days for a conference. Everywhere else I called quoted me astronomical prices, or said they flat out couldn't do it. When I called here, she said "Come on in, we'll see what we can do." So I did, and she said she'd have it done with time to spare in two days, and charged me a VERY reasonable price (not so little that it was shady, but not NEARLY as much as those other places). When I picked it up the day before the conference, it looked like a new jacket. She had listened to my requests, but she also knew what was feasible from her significant experience and the fabric of the suit jacket. I could not have been more relieved to have a wearable suit for this conference, and I promised her I'd review her everywhere I could - she deserves it, and it's the least I could do! Going into this shop was a horrible experience for both my daughter and I. I had read several positive reviews and was expecting a positive encounter. Nancy was rude from the start, and she seemed angry that we had interrupted her from the shirt she was working on. My 16 year old daughter's dress was too large in the top and needed to be taken in. After making us wait despite the fact that there were no other customers and making all sorts of inappropriate comments that my daughter didn't have enough cleavage to fill out the dress while having too much hip, she yelled at us that she needed 3-6 months to do the work. She also quoted a price that was absolutely ridiculous- and more than what I had paid for the entire dress. As we were in the middle of talking about what needed to be done, a gentleman walked in to pick up his pants. She immediately went from being hostile and rude, to being sweet and accommodating. My only explanation is that the man was white, and we were not- so racism could have been a factor. All in all, it was a disaster, and we went to another tailor that was 2 blocks away and charged less than half what she quoted and had it done in a week. read more

I have not had any alterations done here but my sister gave me the names of a couple places and this was one of them, I would not take anything to them, very rude when my husband called to ask her how much to have jeans altered, she just said the price and before he could ask anything else she hung up on him, then when he called back she said you already called here. I have been coming here for alterations for years. I've had several dresses taken in or shortened, and recently took in a very expensive BCBG dress that had a broken zipper. The owner charged me $25 for a new zipper and it looks like new. I will agree with previous reviewers, the owner is a tiny force of nature. There are two changing rooms so you can show off your ill-fitting clothes, and then she will quickly measure and pin your clothing. She is very precise and efficient. She also advises the cheapest alterations, showing me that she wants what's best for her customers and not just what makes her the most money. She has always finished my alterations on time and has significantly take in a formal dress for me in 3 days time when I was in a rush. If you pay with cash it's usually a little cheaper and you can avoid paying tax! read more

Brought some suits pants in to get hemmed and she noticed an elaborate internal cuff that apparently adds weight to pants without a visible outside cuff.
