We took my daughter's prom dress to be altered and knew we had only a week turnaround time due to a spring break trip. Mei Ling was very nice and welcoming. She said it was good we came before the prom season rush of people. We dropped the dress on Friday afternoon about 3:45 pm and she had it done by 11:00 am on Sunday! The dress had a little train and she made it look perfect. In the rush of picture taking I forgot to get one of the train but it was perfect! Thank you Mei Ling she looked gorgeous!

I was looking for a repair of my medical device and I called several places and could not find anyone who could repair my headband on my medical magnifiers until I called perfect alteration. She did a really good job as I indicated in the pictures before and after. The material on the repaired headband is much more comfortable than the original. I found this tailor while searching desperately for a tailor to take in my prom dress last minute. I called and was able to come in the same day. All other alteration places I called said it would take two weeks. Mei Ling was kind and communicative, and most importantly, had my dress finished the very next day and right in time for prom! The alteration was taking in the bodice of my gown, which was 6 inches too large!! Overall, I'm just happy that my dress came out looking as good as new and fitting perfectly.

Here is my experience to help others seeking help with alterations. I reached out to Mei. She returned my call promptly. I inquired regarding 4 garments I needed altered. We promptly made an in person appt. I was in and out of there within 20 mins. We agreed upon a week turnaround. Yet, Mei contacted me a few days later saying the job was done early and ready for pickup. I could not be happier with her work. They look amazing. In summary: 1) Mei is professional, kind and communicative 2) Mei did the work in half the time allotted 3) Mei's work looks perfect, cannot tell it was altered; it simply fits perfectly I will continue to give Mei more jobs and am grateful I now have a tailor I can trust and rely on. read more

I gave Mei Li a little under 2 weeks to accomplish the big task of adding some inches this gown that would not budge! I am so grateful. I was able to wear the dress I loved but was able to do so comfortably. True professional. Highly recommend Mei Ling for your alteration needs. The zipper on my new Vuori jacket broke and I had no luck getting ahold of their customer service to help. I found Mei on Yelp and she helped me fix it at a reasonable price. A different issue happened with the zipper and she fixed it for me at no cost. She works out of her home and is very professional, and prompt. read more

No wonder Mei's business name is Perfect Alteration... her alterations are just perfect. She has altered many pieces for my family..pants, jeans and dresses ( length, sleeves and waist) and all turned out just perfect! Very accommodating as well. If you need something by a certain date, she will make sure it gets done timely. Mei was fantastic. She hemmed my gown that had a difficult hemline. She also added hidden lifts so I could dance without tripping over my hem. I just moved back to the Bay Area and am glad to have found Mei Ling. She is wonderful and accommodating to work with, and she works fast. Communication is great, though it does sometimes require a bit of back-and-forth to ensure her schedule permits, as she doesn't have official open hours. The front zipper of my rain jacket was broken or so I thought for a few years now. The jacket was still quite new, barely wore it because of the bad zipper, but when I do, I would wear it opened. Was so frustrated that I was ready to trash it out. A friend referred me to Perfect Alteration in Foster City. The owner Mei Ling took a look at the jacket, using her professional skill sets, she tucked and pulled at the zipper and immediately for whatever reason, the zipper worked!! A few friends were with me, and they were amazed, while I was in total shock! Mei Ling has great integrity, she did not charge for the "tweaking" of the zipper, and I had saved money by not having to buy another. Will definitely come back! Thanks Mei Ling!!! read more

Mei Ling did a wonderful job on my bridesmaid dress. The dress was originally took big in the bust and too long. She made it fit perfectly! Tight enough to give me more of a shape in the dress but not enough that I couldn't sit comfortably at the wedding. I also asked her to make the slit on my dress higher and it came out great. Love love loved my dress. read more

The next day I dropped off a sweater and two pants that were quickly adjusted to my liking in just a couple of days. Mei is amazing, and we really recommend her! She tailored my bridesmaid's dress and made it look SO much better on my frame! She tailored my partner's suit after he lost 40-50 pounds, so it was an all-over job, and she did fabulous! We got our clothes to her 6 weeks ahead of the wedding thinking it would take a while, but she was able to finish everything in 1 week. She is very easy to get in touch with, just send her a text! You won't regret it! :) I've had many compliments from family for how my dress now looks, hopefully I can update this review with a few pics after the wedding to really show off Mei's work. Overall, very thankful to find an awesome tailor/seamstress after moving to Foster City! We'll be back! read more

I needed sleeves altered on a dress. Dropped off the dress expecting it to get done within a week and got a text message two days later saying it was ready to get picked up. The dress fit perfectly afterwards. What I really appreciated about Mei was that I never felt like she was too pushy or trying to add on any additional costs. She just laid it out matter of fact. Looking for alterations?? Mei Ling is your girl! If it weren't for fellow Yelper reviews, I would have not found her. To make a short story short, I read the reviews that she is very good at her job and responds quickly. I sent her a text and within 5mins it was returned stating to bring in my jacket and see what she can do. Mei gave me options of what she can do and the cost of labor up front which I liked. Mei was very professional and sweet at the same time. I was very happy with the results and recommend her to anyone who needs any kind of repairs or alterations to any clothing items. I discovered Mai Ling at all places - FC Pickleball courts! I told her that I was in need of alteration services and we made an appointment to meet up. 2 shirts, 2 beret's, 1 down vest zipper replacement, 2 pairs of hemmed pants later, and both my wife and I have been very pleased with Mai Lings expertise, honesty and value. I have a seamstress / tailor I have used for many years, but Mai Ling is about 5 minutes away from my house. I needed to have heavy duty Velcro straps sewn onto my son's motorcycle body armor so that we could easily attach them to his back protector. They had to be well done so that they wouldn't just fall apart in the event of a crash. Although his heavily modded electric pocket bike tops out at 32 mph, he's had a couple of crashes already and the work she did on the straps worked beautifully! Amazing job. read more

Mei Ling is an angel! I contacted her about needing a ton of work done on my dress and she was so sweet and accommodating!! She let out my bust area, fixed loose and broken beads, took out three layers underneath, added a bustle and took off about four inches off the bottom all for an incredible price!! Had I gone anywhere else my dress would've been over $700 to fix but with Mei Ling it wasn't even close to that and she did a professional and may I add very rapid job!! Mei Ling did a phenomenal job altering a lacy boudoir dress. I bought the dress months ago for a boudoir photo shoot- it was very tight and fitted my body perfectly. Fast forward a few months and I had gained some weight. I wanted to wear the dress for a Halloween dance party, but the sleeves were too tight. Mei Ling added some stretchy fabric to the arms so that I could move and dance in it! I'm so happy with her work and I look forward to the next time I work with her! read more

Fit perfectly. 3. Lastly, my Kim Kassas wedding dress!! Its ruffled mermaid tail is what made it beautiful. I plan to resell my dress and jila altered it so that if someone taller than me buys it, the stitching just needs to be snipped to get it back to the original length. It fit me like a glove. The process was real simple and convenient, I just text Mei Ling and we worked out where to meet and the cost.
